    Тhis article analyses Macedonian phrasemes with zoonymic component denoting time. Zoonyms mainly came from surrounding environment which was expected having in mind the fact that man often reaches for something that is well known to him in an attempt to understand something far and abstract, such as the category of time. What distinguishes the analyzed units from the rest of the phraseological material with zoonymic components is their relative neutrality, bearing in mind that in general the zoonymic phrases are negatively colored. Such neutrality is due to their semantics, as well as to the fact that they show the characteristics and animals behavior as they are in reality

    Frazeologické fondy všetkých jazykov obsahujú početnú skupinu frazém so zoonymickými komponentmi. V štúdii sa autorka zaoberá slovenskými a slovinskými zoonymickými frazémami, ktoré akýmkoľvek spôsobom reflektujú starobylé predstavy predkov o prepojení medzi zvieratami a svetom nadprirodzena, v relevantných prípadoch sa venuje i samotným názvom zvierat či ďalším fenoménom súvisiacim s témou príspevku. Množstvo frazeologických jednotiek odráža vieru, že zvieratá mali schopnosť vycítiť nadchádzajúce udalosti, predpovedať počasie, zvestovať nešťastie či smrť. V príspevku uvedené jednotky sú často staršieho dáta, mnohé z nich sa však ešte stále bežne používajú, alebo je živý s nimi spojený myšlienkový obsah. Analýza jazykového materiálu preukázala nielen príbuznosť slovenského a slovinského jazyka, ale i mentálnych konceptov, ktoré spoluutvárajú jazykový obraz sveta ich nositeľov.
    Phraseological stocks of all languages contain numerous phrasemes with zoonym components. Inthe paper the author deals with Slovak and Slovene zoonym phrasemes which demonstrate ancient ideas of ancestors about interconnections between animals and the world of the supernatural, in relevant cases she also deals with other phenomena related to the subject of the paper. A number of phraseological units reflect the belief that animals used to have the ability to sense upcoming events, predict the weather, misfortune or death. The units listed in the paper are often rather archaic, however, many of them are still in use or the idea they represent is still alive. The analysed language material has shown similarity not only between Slovak and Slovene languages but also between the mental concepts which form the language picture of the world of their users.

    The aim of the article is to show the relationship between the homo and animal spheres. The research material consists of Polish and Russian phraseological units in a broad sense (idioms, comparisons and proverbs) with zoonyms being the names of farm animals. The main emphasis was placed on the inherent – in faunal phraseology – and the closely related features of anthropocentrism and didacticism. Tracing the relationship between humans and animals clearly indicates the pejorativization of the linguistic image of fauna by a man. People like to use animal portraits to speak of the dark sides of their own world. Ascribing disabilities to representatives of fauna at the same time exposes the value of everything that is human. Parallel however, there is a phenomenon of hyperbolization of the negative portrait of a man who tries to subjugate living creatures from outside his species, guided by heartlessness, greed and selfishness. The lack of morality or culture cannot be considered animal traits, since higher feelings are characteristic of homo sapiens and constitute the foundation that distinguishes humans from the fauna world. Animals only fight for food, domination, and take care of the young. Their behavior is not due to ill will, lack of morals or culture. In the behavior of animals, their nature prevails and their innate instincts ensure their survival. Animals are not uncultivated and immoral, it is only a man who thinks of them in this way, involuntarily projecting his own world onto the animal world. There is a human interpretation of the world in animalistic phraseological units.

    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie potencjału semantyczno-pragmatycznego leksemu świnia w języku polskim i rosyjskim. Zebrany materiał pochodzi ze słowników objaśniających, żargonowych oraz gwarowych, stanowi zatem zbiór odzwierciedlający zarówno polszczyznę i ruszczyznę literacką, jak i odmiany użytkowe obydwu języków. Artykuł zawiera charakterystykę obrazu świni w kulturze oraz ukazuje fragment językowego obrazu zwierzęcia nawiązujący do jego upodobań kulinarnych.
    The aim of article is to show the semantic and pragmatic potential of the word swine in Polish and Russian languages. Collected material comes from description, jargon and dialect dictionaries. Above material reflects both Polish an Russian literary languages as variations in both languages. The article presents the image of a swine in culture and shows the linguistic depiction of the animal referring to its culinary likings.

    The issue of nomenclature for mixed breed animals has been taken up by Polish researchers many times and its significance for onomastic and dialectal research has been emphasised often enough. With respect to the North-Eastern Borderlands, sparse studies have been dedicated to it so far. Therefore, this paper discusses linguistic and cultural contacts reflected in proper names of two species of mixed breed animals in the Vilnius Region. The material was collected using the traditional and online survey method. This article presents the phonetic and morphological characteristics typical of the Polish of the Borderlands, lexical features, and nomenclature influences that were discovered while analysing zoonyms. It discusses the influences of the Lithuanian, Russian, and Belarusian languages on the nomenclature for animals living in households of people of Polish descent in the Vilnius Region.
