    Opis:
    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy korpusu 531 tekstów prasowych zaczerpniętych z trzech francuskich dzienników: „Le Monde”, „Le Figaro”, „Libération”, opublikowanych w dwóch pierwszych miesiącach 2020 r., zawierających określenia coronavirus i/lub virus. Badanie przeprowadzono przy wykorzystaniu metod francuskiej semantyki dyskursywnej. Analiza wyróżnionych grup struktur nominacyjnych potwierdziła ich perswazyjny charakter. Przedstawione w artykule mechanizmy kształtowania społecznego znaczenia koronawirusa służyły dotarciu do zróżnicowanego audytorium mediów, konstruowaniu (i dekonstruowaniu) etosu rzetelnych mediów, a także stygmatyzacji, polityzacji i dramatyzacji.
    The article presents the results of the analysis of a corpus of 531 press texts taken from three French daily newspapers: "Le Monde", "Le Figaro", and "Libération", published in the first two months of 2020 and containing the expressions coronavirus and /or virus. The study was conducted using the methods of French discursive semantics. The analysis of the selected groups of nomination structures confirmed their persuasive character. The mechanisms of shaping the social significance of the coronavirus presented in the article served to reach a diverse media audience, construct (and deconstruct) the ethos of reliable media, as well as stigmatize, politicize and dramatize.

    Opis:
    Ukraine’s independence in 1991 changed the direction of society’s development, the most important of which was the revival of the spirituality of the Ukrainian nation, which is connected with thousands of years of religious traditions. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the development of sacred construction in the environment of modern Ukranian cities as an important factor of reviving the nation and building a new national identity. The article analyzes selected realized objects in the residential environment, systematizes architectural prototypes, which architects turn to nowadays in search of a modern image of a sacred building. Based on the methods of comparative, synchronic and semiotic analysis, the significance of new sacred objects for the formation of the image of the city was revealed, and their social and symbolic meanings was also clarified.

    . The development of international cargo transportation has been relevant since the emergence of the international division of labor. Billions of tons of goods of various names, values and volumes are transported across the borders of the Russian Federation every year. This paper examines the Eurasian Economic Union international transportation system, its transport system integration, and the formation of a common transport space. The authors analyzed the international transport market state and conditions and the level of containerization. The transport system is considered the country's economy "circulatory system", which makes it a key link in the implementation of economic reforms in the country. The transport industry has social significance, which also determines the specifics of the phased market transformations. The development of international multimodal container transportation is becoming a new trend in the development of the transport service market.

    In this essay we propose a reflection on the social meaning that takes the word ‘catastrophe’ in Italian, through the investigation of the historical literary collocations of the term and on the current ones through different corpora. This research is part of Cognitive Linguistics and Semantics.
    W niniejszym artykule proponujemy refleksję nad społecznym znaczeniem słowa „katastrofa” w języku włoskim, poprzez badanie historycznych kolokacji literackich oraz obecnych tego terminu w różnych korpusach. Badanie to jest częścią językoznawstwa kognitywnego i semantyki.

    The author considers unemployment in Poland in the first years of the twenty-first century as a cause of the growth in poverty and the ensuing social exclusion. These phenomena are connected but not identical. They are also defined differently. In contrast to various conceptions of poverty that seek its causes in the values and behaviors of individuals, the category of social exclusion stresses the social dimension—the impacts of a society that excludes and marginalizes. The author writes about the meaning of work in Polish society and gives examples of unemployed people’s feelings in connection with not having work, drawn from their own writings. She would like to see these viewpoints taken into consideration in sociological research.

    Opis:
    The main goal of this article is to characterise and compare some aspects of Hilary Putnam’s referential theory of meaning and Robert B. Brandom’s inferential theory of meaning. I will do it to indicate some similarities and differences in these theories. It will provide an opportunity for a deeper understanding of these theories and for a more adequate evaluation of how they describe and explain the process of meaning acquisition of linguistic expressions. In his theory of meaning Putnam emphasises the importance of reference understood as a relationship which connects linguistic expressions and extra-linguistic (empirical) reality. Brandom acknowledges inference as a main category useful in characterising the meaning of expressions used in premises and a conclusion of inference. But his theory of meaning is criticised for minimalising the role of an empirical component (demonstratives etc.). He tries to defend his standpoint in the anaphoric theory of reference. Putnam like Brandom claimed that we – as cognitive subjects – are not in a situation in which we learn about the extra-linguistic reality in a direct way. It is the reality itself as well as our cognitive apparatus that play a role in a cognitive process.

    In this article the concept of dialogue will be related to its quite narrow meaning. It will be understood as the conversation of the Church’s representatives (i.e. John Paul II, Benedict XVI) about social exclusion. This dialogue will be conducted between the eternal truths of the Christian faith codified as the Holy Bible, the dogma’s of the Christian faith, of Christian ethics and the modern world, in which pathologic phenomena, occurrences of social injustice lead to social exclusion (an exclusion nowadays considered a category of public activity, including the problems of poverty, unemployment, homelessness, social inequity) of the people of various continents.
