    The paper presents a case study of the practical use of BOST surveys to identify problems that are the most important in production process. The research object is company from electrical industry. It was made the identification and of areas geneating problems from the second Toyota’s management principle point of view. Analysis of the research results was presented in the form of tables, histograms, radar chart and some statistical tools. Some production workers of the company with the help of BOST questionnaire survey showed, which factors are the most important. The aim of the analysis is to present which factors are the most important by building the significance sequences of obtained results. The results obtained for the type of small and medium-sized enterprises overlap with the results of tests verified in other enterprises.

    Opis:
    The aim of the study is to assess the extent to which visual management is significant in the production process on detecting problems in the production hall and in building an internal competitive advantage in the studied two strategic branches in Poland: metal and automotive. The innovative "BOST - Toyota's management principles in questions" survey research was used to assess visual management's importance. 20 companies were surveyed, and responses were obtained from 689 respondents. Analyses showed greater importance of visual management in the metal branch than in the automotive branch, while the greater impact of this system on revealing problems and building a competitive advantage in the automotive branch, which resulted from the specific objectives of this system in the analysed branches. The results emphasize the specific background of the importance of visual management in the analysed branches. The analysis linking the importance of the visual management system with the impact on creating a competitive advantage meets the expectations of managers looking for alternative and low-cost ways to increase the company's competitiveness. Companies need to understand that the sooner a problem is discovered, the better, because sooner can be taken corrective action to prevent it from happening again. Effective detection problems in the production hall supported by the visual management tools and their elimination is a way of reducing costs and building an internal competitive advantage.
    Celem pracy jest ocena, na ile zarządzanie wizualne jest istotne w procesie produkcyjnym w wykrywaniu problemów na hali produkcyjnej oraz w budowaniu wewnętrznej przewagi konkurencyjnej w badanych dwóch strategicznych branżach w Polsce: metalowej i motoryzacyjnej. Do oceny znaczenia zarządzania wizualnego wykorzystano innowacyjne badanie ankietowe „BOST - Zasady zarządzania Toyotą w pytaniach”. Przebadano 20 firm, a odpowiedzi uzyskano od 689 respondentów. Analizy wykazały większe znaczenie zarządzania wizualnego w branży metalowej niż motoryzacyjnej, natomiast większy wpływ tego systemu na ujawnianie problemów i budowanie przewagi konkurencyjnej w branży motoryzacyjnej, co wynikało ze specyficznych celów tego systemu w analizowanych branżach. Wyniki uwypuklają specyfikę znaczenia zarządzania wizualnego w analizowanych branżach. Analiza łącząca znaczenie systemu zarządzania wizualnego z wpływem na tworzenie przewagi konkurencyjnej wychodzi naprzeciw oczekiwaniom menedżerów poszukujących alternatywnych i niskokosztowych sposobów na zwiększenie konkurencyjności firmy. Firmy muszą zrozumieć, że im szybciej problem zostanie wykryty, tym lepiej, ponieważ szybciej można podjąć działania naprawcze, aby zapobiec jego ponownemu wystąpieniu. Skuteczne wykrywanie problemów na hali produkcyjnej wsparte narzędziami zarządzania wizualnego i ich eliminacja to sposób na redukcję kosztów i budowanie wewnętrznej przewagi konkurencyjnej.

    In the article the results of statistical analysis is presented with the use of basic statistical parameters and box and whisker plot conducted for the dataset, containing answers to the question E9 from BOST survey. Measures of central tendency and variation were employed for analysis of the data connected with the assessment of human problems and production-related issues in three analysed companies: a steel company, a plastics processing company and a retail chain.

    In the article the results of BOST method usage was presented to analyse the importance of human and production/services issues in three different companies - a steelworks, a plastic-processing and a retail chain company. The importance of human and production/service issues was analysed by using the concept of the managerial grid. The relation between workers answers with the use of managerial grid after division answers was analysed into four and three areas. The frequency of occurrence of ratings to determine a degree of perception of importance of human and production/service issues in these companies was analysed.

    In the article a risk analysis of the production process of selected products in a plant producing votive candles was conducted. The Pareto-Lorenz diagram and FMEA method were used which indicated the most important areas affecting the production of selected elements of candles. The synthesis of intangible factors affecting production in the audited company was also carried out with particular emphasis on the operation of the production system. The factors determining the validity of studies was examined, describing the principle of BOST 14 Toyota management. The most important areas of the company were identified, positively affecting the production process.

    This paper presents a brief description of the surveyed enterprises and the manufacturing process of its flagship product - butter. Subsequently an analysis of BOST survey results was conducted. The staff spoke out about the importance of factors describing one of Toyota's management principle. Their opinion was the basis for the systematization of research results and to formulate a performance evaluation of the selected company. Results were presented by using spatial charts.

    The organization constant improvement process is possible using a step by step method. The self-learning organization and continuous improvement of the organization's culture guarantees achievement of good market results and raising competitiveness. This paper aims to identify and analyze the ratings importance level for the production process factors in order for the manufacturing process to improve in the chosen construction company. The study used an innovative research method BOST, which refers to the Toyota management principles in the production and the service organizations. As a result of research the ratings differentiation importance level for the production process factors was achieved which provides a basis for the process of the analyzed company to improve.

    The paper uses an innovative research methodology - BOST questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire, two Toyota’s principles were evaluated. These were E2 and E2 areas.
