The economic progress of recent years has contributed to the fact that both the quality of products and services offered and ISO standardization have become priority criterion that determines the success of manufacturing enterprises. Therefore, the monitoring and supervision of processes carried out in manufacturing companies is a key issue. These aspects support the achievement of key economic and quality objectives. The paper presents the results of a study on manufacturing enterprises in the context of process monitoring maturity. The research objective of the study was to determine the level of maturity in the use of process monitoring techniques and methods in manufacturing enterprises. The subject of the research were the techniques and methods used by the surveyed enterprises in such areas as: production management, machinery park management, warehouse management, transport management, inventory and supply management and IT tools. In order to determine the level of maturity, the author’s model was used, according to which the level of maturity of a manufacturing enterprise in the area of process monitoring depends on the instrumentation that is used in it.

The purpose of the study was to identify and typify the main qualitative-environmental aspects of the success of foundry enterprises facing economic changes. The research method developed was based on methodological triangulation. This procedure influenced the credibility of the collected data by including a significant number of sources and reducing the measurement error. The study used: surveying, face-to-face interviews, multiple case studies and content analysis. The survey made it possible to categorize the attributes of success (quality, sustainability, resources, flexibility, environment, management strategy customer relations). Assuming that the frequency of occurrence of an attribute indicates the level of its effectiveness, the following were considered the main determinants: training/courses, supervision and control, reliability and durability of products and compliance with standards and requirements, waste management and waste disposal, core and reserve capital, and customer service.

Opis:
In an increasingly volatile environment, the importance of agile management, which should be based on flexible procedures and agile strategy, is increasing. The purpose of the study was to analyze the trend of development, level of knowledge and implications with the application of agile methods, techniques in project, program and manufacturing process management tools, as well as to identify areas of activity of foundry companies in the context of increasing the efficiency of their operations through the use of agile project approach. The completed research indicated that the knowledge and variety of application of agile methods, tools and techniques is at a relatively low level within the framework of project, program and manufacturing process management in the surveyed foundries. Among the most commonly used instrumentation are: PDCA, Kanban, SCRUM, SCRUMBAN, Lean Development, DMAIC and XP. The research showed that the use of agile instrumentation in the areas of projects, programs and manufacturing process management allows work to be done in an orderly and transparent manner. Foundries that consistently use agile instrumentation produce high-quality and non-conformity-free products with short time-to-market. Future research directions will be to perform a comparative analysis of the level of knowledge and implications of agile instrumentation in foundries located in Poland and selected neighboring countries.

Abstrakt: Celem opracowania jest prezentacja modelu planowania rozwoju sił morskich w państwie średniej wielkości na przykładzie Polski, poprzez ich trafną i skuteczną modernizację. Podjęcie takiego tematu wynika z miernych wyników dotychczasowych wysiłków modernizacyjnych. Dlatego też, wskazanym jest stosowanie metod dotyczących programowania i planowania rozwoju sił morskich, typowych dla nauk o zarządzaniu i jakości, tak jak jest to praktykowane w większości państw Sojuszu Północnoatlantyckiego. Takie podejście pozwoliło na sformułowanie założenia wstępnego, które głosi iż trafny i skuteczny model planowania rozwoju sił morskich możliwy jest poprzez identyfikację odpowiedniej sekwencji działań modernizacyjnych oraz związanych z nimi narzędzi i metod właściwych dla nauk o zarządzaniu i jakości. Takie podejście w planowaniu na szczeblu strategicznym, a następnie na innych poziomach zarządzania przedmiotowym procesem, umożliwia tworzenie trafnych i uzasadnionych programów rozwoju sił morskich, unikając życzeniowości i błędnych założeń, co w efekcie kończy się opóźnieniami realizowanych zadań, bądź nawet ich zaniechaniem.
The purpose of this paper is to present a model for planning the development of naval forces in a medium-sized state, on the example of Poland, through their accurate and effective modernization. Taking up such a subject results from the mediocre results of modernization efforts to date. Therefore, it is advisable to apply methods for programming and planning the development of naval forces, typical of management and quality sciences, as it is practiced in most of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization states. Such an approach made it possible to formulate a preliminary assumption, which states that an accurate and effective model of planning the development of naval forces is possible through the identification of an appropriate sequence of modernization activities and the related tools and methods typical of management and quality sciences. Such an approach to planning at the strategic level, and then at other levels of management of the process in question, enables the creation of accurate and justified programs for the development of naval forces, avoiding wishful thinking and erroneous assumptions, which in effect result in delays in the implementation of tasks or even their abandonment.

Zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi w każdej organizacji stanowi wyzwanie dla osób zarządzających z uwagi na trudności, jakie się pojawiają w trakcie funkcjonowania i realizowania podstawowych działań. Potencjał pracowników, ich wiedza, umiejętności i kompetencje wyznaczają jakość realizowanych zadań oraz niejednokrotnie decydują o przewadze konkurencyjnej organizacji. Zanim jednak do tego dojdzie organizacja musi pozyskać odpowiednich kandydatów do pracy, czyli takich, których kwalifikacje będą odpowiednie do pracy na zajmowanym stanowisku, a kompetencje najbardziej zbliżone do profilu organizacji. Efektywność pozyskiwania kandydatów jest pochodną jakości procesów rekrutacji i selekcji. Celem pracy jest identyfikacja czynników wyznaczających jakość procesów rekrutacji i selekcji, albowiem od nich zależy efektywność wykonywanych zadań przez personel fachowy danej organizacji. Wysoka jakość procesów rekrutacji i selekcji umożliwia dokonanie wyboru najlepszego spośród aplikujących kandydatów, co znacznie zwiększa potencjał organizacji i maksymalizuje prawdopodobieństwo osiągnięcia ponadprzeciętnych wyników. Realizacja celu pracy wymaga zastosowania zróżnicowanych metod badawczych, takich jak metoda analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa, metoda analizy aktów prawnych oraz metoda badania dokumentów. Pozwalają one określić, jakie elementy determinują jakość rekrutacji i selekcji oraz jakie sposoby rekrutacji czy techniki selekcji wpływają na efektywność procesów pozyskiwania kandydatów do pracy.

In the article there were presented issues related to the improvement of the occupational health and safety (OHS) management system in a selected energy industry company. The research entity belongs to the leading producers of electricity and heat in Poland. In the paper there were analyzed data on accidents in the research period covering the years 2012-2017. There was also made a short description of the company's activities regarding internal health and safety inspections carried out periodically. Furthermore, there were analyzed the activities improving the occupational health and safety management system in a selected research entity. In the paper there were also presented the sizes and types of activities (projects), that were aimed at improving the health and safety area and included in the company's business strategy. On the basis of the data and the analyzes carried out, it was possible to make a comprehensive assessment of the health and safety management system of the company and to indicate that corrective actions are continuous.

The article is based on the Total Quality Management (TQM) philosophy assumption that “By satisfying the inside client's needs as fully as possible, we can equally satisfy the outside client’s needs". The author highlights the key role of the involvement and satisfaction on the part of hotel personnel in achieving the goals of the firm by giving examples from actual hotels.

This paper provides a systematic review of the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in logistics services to analyze managerial implications for improving the logistics service quality. The literature review has been performed using two academic databases Scopus and Web of Science and spans the years 2008-2019. Bibliometric network analysis were used to highlight research areas for the study of current technologies in the logistics service industry. The paper highlights the classification of the information and communications technologies in the logistics service industry, new trends in logistics service in terms of Industry 4.0 and the impact of current technologies on management of logistics service quality.
Niniejszy artykuł zawiera systematyczny przegląd roli technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych (ICT) w usługach logistycznych w celu przeanalizowania wpływu zarządzania na poprawę jakości usług logistycznych. Przegląd literatury został przeprowadzony przy użyciu dwóch akademickich baz danych Scopus i Web of Science i obejmuje lata 2008-2019. Bibliometryczną analizę sieci wykorzystano do podkreślenia obszarów badawczych do badania aktualnych technologii w branży usług logistycznych. W artykule podkreślono klasyfikację technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych w branży usług logistycznych, nowe trendy w usługach logistycznych w zakresie Przemysłu 4.0 oraz wpływ obecnych technologii na zarządzanie jakością usług logistycznych.

Wysoki poziom jakości produktów w analizowanym przypadku wyrobów medycznych gwarantuje rozwój przedsiębiorstwa przez zapewnienie klientom bezpiecznego użytkowania, skuteczne konkurowanie oraz nawiązywanie dobrych relacji z partnerami. W odniesieniu do powyższego podjęto badania, których zasadniczym celem było określenie przydatności stosowanych metod i narzędzi zarządzania jakością w procesie produkcji wyrobów medycznych badanego przedsiębiorstwa. W artykule zawarto analizę instrumentarium zarządzania jakością w procesie produkcji wyrobów medycznych klasy I. Uwagę zwrócono zarówno na ocenę poziomu zastosowania metod, jak i ich przydatności w realizacji procesu produkcji. Wyznaczono odpowiedzialności i wykorzystywane instrumentarium w procesie. Korzystając z metody studium przypadku, wskazano metody zarządzania jakością najbardziej przydatne w realizacji procesu produkcji. Zweryfikowano, że większość z nich jest rzadko stosowana. Za najbardziej przydatne uznano: FMEA, kanban i walidację procesów. Stosowanie metody 5S nie wpływa w większym stopniu na usprawnianie procesu produkcji analizowanych wyrobów medycznych. Rzadkie stosowanie metod i ich jakże ograniczona liczba spowodowane są słabą znajomością wśród kierownictwa oraz trudnościami z określeniem pozytywnego wpływu poszczególnych metod na osiągnięcie korzyści w procesie.
High product quality, in this case of analyzed medical devices, ensures the development of the company by providing customers with safe operation and effective competition and establishes good relationships with partners. In view of the above, the main purpose of this research was to determine the suitability of the applied quality management methods and tools in the production process of medical devices in the examined company. The article contains an analysis of the quality management instruments in the production process of class I medical devices. The degree of application of the methods and their suitability over the course of the production process was noted. Responsibilities and instruments used in the process were assigned. Using the case study method, the methods of quality management most useful in the production process were indicated. Most of them have been verified to be rarely used. The most useful were: FMEA, kanban and process validation. The use of the 5S method does not significantly improve the production process of the analyzed medical devices. The infrequent use of methods and their limited number are caused by poor knowledge among the management and difficulties in determining the positive impact of individual methods on the production process.

Managing by Values in management of media companyNowadays values plays important role in the modern management. The essence of management values in the company is taking care by managers about the most important values, putting them on, promoting, compliance and control. The values in the field of management of the company can be, according to the author of the article into three main groups: 1. the values in the moral sense: set standards and norms of behavior, 2. the values in terms of utility, primarily concerning the product, 3. the values in economic terms, which include the value of the product, achieved, as well as the value of the firm. There is only one, according to the author of this paper a way to permanently improve the quality and attractiveness of information (as well as the media company’s reputation), namely, that the information will become real creative and cultural goods. At the time when the information produced and distributed by the media company will have the character and quality of cultural and creative goods, acquire the nature of public goods, giving positive externalities. As such, should benefit from public support perspective, as it happens with culture and education institutions.

Wspomniana technologia pozwala też ugruntować wizerunek firmy jako poddostawcę gwarantującego najwyższą jakość.
Today’s situation on the European market, rising global competition along with the world economic crisis and the cost pressure resulting out of it, forces SMEs to put more efforts to increase their competitiveness. One of the possibilities is the improvement of the production process quality, which allows to manufacture products of the highest quality while keeping production costs on the competitive and reasonable level. Particularly advanced Ambiance Intelligence (AmI) technology offers excellent opportunities to improve process quality in SMEs. This would allow those companies not only to survive on the demanding market, but also to develop and build solid relations with customers and other companies which need subsuppliers of the highest quality.
