    In the Younger Pre-Roman Period the territory of Central Germany was occupied by Jastorf culture. Within this cultural milieu some elements occur typical of areas which are located on the eastern bank of Odra river, that is on the territory of Przeworsk culture. It concerns both material culture and behaviours connected with burial custom. Studies on some specific forms of pottery (cups of TD I) allow to distinguish two regions of Central Germany, which display different reception models of Przeworsk culture traits. Of the first one (Unstrut and Sale region) presence of vessels identical to those known from the area of Przeworsk culture is typical. Within the second zone (central Elbe region and Gubin group) the specimens occur which are usually larger then original cups of type TD I. Second part of the paper is devoted to explanation of this phenomenon. Materials coming from four cemeteries represented both the Jastorf and Przeworsk culture were here the subject of more detailed analysis. It allows to draw the conclusion that observed change in size of TD I cups may be considered as a result of adaptation to the specific norms of burial custom. While in the area of Przeworsk culture cups usually served as a gift, being deposited within the burial pit, in the case of Jastorf culture they were used as container for charred bones. Because their capacity had to be fitted to the volume of remains deposited in them, the positive correlation between age of deceased and the size of cups can be observed.

    In the course of the excavations conducted in 2014 at site no. 3 in Kryspinów, com. Liszki, the north-eastern zone of the Przeworsk settlement was investigated. The settlement in question, and the northward located cemetery dated to the same period, was investigated by the Institute of Archaeology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in the years 1968–1998. The research presented here covered an area of ca. 16.5 ares, and resulted in the discovery of 186 archaeological features, mostly semi-dugouts and postholes. In the east, the settlement was adjacent to a bank running along the paleochannel of the Vistula river. Towards the north-east and north, the alignment of encountered features was not very dense, which may be due to fact that the investigations merely caught the fringes of the settlement. The trenches located in the southern part of the explored area were characterised by a great accumulation of features and artefacts. Almost three thousand fragments of pottery were obtained. They were mainly discovered within the fills of features, although some of them were also found within the cultural layer up to 40 cm thick. Among the metal artefacts, a Trajan denarius and five fibulae were especially noteworthy. The great majority of pottery represented forms typical of the Przeworsk culture. Based on the dating of ceramic vessels, this part of the settlement should be dated to the period from the A3 phase of the younger pre-Roman period until the C1a phase of the Roman Period. The archaeological material obtained from the cultural layer contained artefacts dated to other cultural units as well, such as those of the Neolithic, Bronze and Middle Ages.
    W trakcie badań w 2014 roku rozpoznano północno-wschodni obszar osady kultury przeworskiej na st. 3 w Kryspinowie, gm. Liszki. Osada ta, jak również leżące na północ cmentarzysko z tego samego okresu, była badana w latach 1968–1998 przez Instytut Archeologii UJ. Powierzchnia obecnych badań wyniosła około 16,5 ara. W trakcie badań wyeksplorowano 186 obiektów archeologicznych, głównie półziemianek i jam posłupowych. W stronę wschodnią osada opiera się o skarpę w stronę starorzecza Wisły. W stronę północno-wschodnią i północną obiekty występowały w dużym rozrzedzeniu, co może świadczyć o eksplorowaniu granic osady. Natomiast wykopy w części południowej charakteryzuje bardzo duże nagromadzenie obiektów i materiału zabytkowego. Pozyskano prawie 3 tysiące fragmentów ceramiki, pochodzących głównie z wypełnisk obiektów, a także z warstwy kulturowej, posiadającej miejscami miąższość do 40 cm. Wśród zabytków metalowych na uwagę zasługuje denar Trajana oraz 5 zapinek. Zdecydowana większość ceramiki jest charakterystyczna dla kultury przeworskiej. Na podstawie datowania ceramiki funkcjonowanie tej części osady należy datować na okres A3 młodszego okresu przedrzymskiego do fazy C1a okresu wpływów rzymskich. W materiale zabytkowym z warstwy kulturowej stwierdzono obecność zabytków także innych kultur, pochodzących z okresu neolitu, epoki brązu i średniowiecza.

    Rescue excavations conducted in 2012 at the site no. 2 in Jakuszowice, Kazimierza Wielka commune, have confirmed both the chronology of settlement development of the Przeworsk culture at the site and the agricultural character of this part of the settlement. Among the discovered features were storage pits accompanied by a few postholes and a fire-hearth, unfortunately partly damaged by more recent settlement related with the modern period phase of the development of the village. The retrieved artefacts (more than 6000) were exclusively pieces of ceramic vessels mostly belonging to the Przeworsk culture which were dated to the Younger pre-Roman period and Early and Late Roman period, and a few stone tools related with the Neolithic settlement and the Early Bronze Age. Moreover, numerous animal bones were found, which were the subject of separate archaeozoological analysis, as well as pieces of daub. Rescue excavations within the site were continued in the following months by the Kraków Team for Archaeological Supervision of Motorway Construction.

    The paper presents an analysis of a ring with knot-like protuberances (Knotenringe) made of copper alloy which was discovered in 2000 at the early medieval settlement at Wolin 4. A few artefacts of this type are known from sites of the Oksywie and Przeworsk cultures, dated to phases A2–A3 of the younger pre-Roman period. Their presence is linked to the influence of Celtic oppida in Slovakia. The discovery of the ring on an early medieval settlement with no relation to older settlement gives grounds to consider it as a result of recycling and attempts to reuse the raw material.

    The problem of Oksywie culture settlements has not been widely discussed to date. Settlements on the right bank of the lower Vistula River, despite the relatively poor data pool, are an important element in the understanding of local issues concerning the culture in question. This article is a contribution to the knowledge of the complexity of the issues and problems faced by researchers studying the younger pre-Roman period. On the right bank of the lower Vistula River region focus like in a lens, all these questions which make it currently impossible to create a complete model of the settlement in the whole Oksywie culture.

    The subject of the younger pre-Roman and Roman period in the Choszczno Land has not been fully analysed yet. The article presents its history and research to date. An enclosed list of sites and finds has been compiled based on archival sources, literature and data collected during conducting the Archaeological Picture of Poland (AZP) project. They were discussed in relation to the cultural situation in Western Pomerania within the analysed time frame.
