The Christian religion puts an emphasis on formation of pro-social attitudes. This is connected with the commandment about the love of the neighbor. Despite various difficulties Christian social pedagogy is developed. Work that is socially inspired by Christianity is permanently done. Christian social education is education aiming at forming a mature realization of the principle of love of the neighbor that is expressed in the ability to enter interpersonal relations and in the participation in a variety of communities, as well as in creating common good. It may be said that Christian education contributes to the development of particular individuals, of families, and of the whole human community, and it tends towards ensuring the educated young people supreme good, and the human community prosperity and peace.
Religia chrześcijańska bardzo mocno akcentuje kształtowanie postaw prospołecznych. Związane jest to z przykazaniem miłości bliźniego. Pomimo różnych trudności chrześcijańska pedagogia społeczna rozwija się. Działania społecznie inspirowane chrześcijaństwem są permanentnie podejmowane. Chrześcijańskie wychowanie społeczne jest to edukacja zmierzająca do kształtowania dojrzałej realizacji zasady miłości bliźniego, wyrażającej się w umiejętności wchodzenia w relacje międzyosobowe oraz uczestniczenia w różnorodnych wspólnotach, a także tworzenia wspólnego dobra. Można stwierdzić, że chrześcijańskie wychowanie przyczynia się do rozwoju poszczególnych jednostek, rodzin i całej ludzkiej wspólnoty oraz zmierza do zapewnienia wychowankom najwyższego dobra, a ludzkiej społeczności dobrobytu i pokoju.

Opis:
The article entitled “Christian Inspirations in Pedagogy – A Reflection on the Value of Religious Education Based on the Example of the Blessed Marcelina Darowska’s Pedagogy” is an attempt to describe the significance and the meaning of the Christian education in the whole process of education of the human being. The author proves that the religious education is very important for maturity of the human personality and for the whole development of man in all dimensions of his life. The significance of the Christian education is presented on the base of sister Marcelina Darowska’s idea of pedagogy. This analysis has two parts: the first one describes the most important assumptions of the Christian pedagogy. The second part is the analysis of the pedagogical system of Marcelina Darowska. Her motto was “educations is the work of love” and all other rules arise from this basic truth. Next, the author presents the main thesis of this pedagogical system and its principles: (1) God is the most important point of reference for the education; (2) education to patriotic conduct of the pupils; (3) fidelity to duties of your own place; (4) formation towards to independent thinking. Next, the author describes the value of this pedagogy for our times. The following features are also underlined: reference to God in the educational process; education based on references to God; the priority of the education in its entirety versus intellectual formation itself; respecting of the pupils’ subjectivity; education based on truth and confidence. The article concludes with the thought that the pedagogy of Marcelina Darowska is universal, timeless and can be a precious indicator for further research in today’s education.

Pojęcie „wychowanie chrześcijańskie” jest wieloznaczne i różnie interpretowane. Utożsamia się go z katechezą lub z wychowaniem do wiary. Jest ono „pomocą udzielaną człowiekowi w realizacji jego człowieczeństwa, w nadaniu życiu człowieka ostatecznego sensu rozumianego na ogół jako zjednoczenie człowieka z Bogiem poprzez praktykowanie miłości bliźniego” (DWCH 2). Wychowanie chrześcijańskie w katechezie szkolnej oznacza, że rodzice, nauczyciele i wychowawcy oraz katecheci uwzględniają podstawowe sfery oddziaływań, a zatem sferę fizyczną, emocjonalną, intelektualną, moralną, duchową, religijną, społeczną, a także sferę wartości i wolności. Rozumienie człowieka jako osoby leży u podstaw koncepcji wychowania. Wychowanie podczas szkolnej katechezy zakłada rozwijanie umiejętności, sprawności, zainteresowań oraz posługiwanie się zdobytymi wiadomościami. W związku z tym katecheza powinna obejmować wychowanie biblijne, liturgiczne, moralne i wspólnotowo-misyjne. Wychowanie w katechezie szkolnej ma ukazywać ucznia w perspektywie chrześcijańskiej. Rodzice, a następnie katecheci oraz duszpasterze powinni rozwijać sprawności duchowe i budzić radość z chrześcijańskiego życia.
The term “Christian education” is ambiguous and open to interpretation. It is identified with catechesis and education in faith. The Christian education is a “help given to man in the formation of manhood in the pursuit of his ultimate end, which is generally understood as the union of man with God through the practice of charity” (Gravissimum Educationis, No. 2). The Christian education in school catechesis means that parents, teachers, educators and religion teachers take into account the basic spheres of educational influence in their actions, i.e. the physical, emotional, intellectual, moral, spiritual, religious, and social sphere, as well as the sphere of values and freedom. The understanding of man as a human person underlies the concept of education. Education in school catechesis involves developing the student’s abilities, skills and interests, and providing the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during classes. Therefore, catechesis should include biblical, liturgical, moral as well as communal and missionary education. Education in school catechesis is to show the student in the Christian perspective. Parents, religion teachers and priests should develop the student’s spiritual skills and awake the joy of the Christian life among them.

Dziecko, które pojawia się w życiu rodziców i wychowawców, jest wielkim darem. Należy ciągle objawiać wartość tego cennego daru, który jest zarazem wielką tajemnicą. Dziecko, aby mogło należycie się rozwijać, potrzebuje przede wszystkim akceptacji i miłości. Obecnie często wypacza się rolę małżeństwa i rodziny, a także − nawet wśród wierzących chrześcijan − niszczy się ich pierwotne znaczenie. Pragnienie Boga jest wpisane do serca człowieka, ponieważ człowiek jest stworzony przez Boga i dla Boga. Bóg nie przestaje człowieka przyciągać do siebie i jedynie w Bogu człowiek znajdzie prawdę i szczęście, których ciągle poszukuje. Największym przejawem ludzkiej godności jest powołanie człowieka do wspólnoty życia z Bogiem. Dziecko już od swego narodzenia musi być wszechstronnie formowane, aby wyrosło na silnego moralnie i wartościowego człowiek.
A child who enters life as parents and educators is a great gift. It is necessary to constantly discover the value of this precious gift that is also a great mystery. Baby for its healthy development needs to be accepted and loved above all. Nowadays, it distorts the fundamental importance of marriage and family. Increasingly, the faithful Christians and destroy their original meaning. The desire for God is inscribed in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God. God does not cease to attract man to himself and only in God finds a man of truth and happiness that constantly looking for the ultimate reason for human dignity lies in man's vocation to communion with God. The child must be since its birth molded versatile that from it grew a moral and respectable man who once stand as family and social life, will be able to care for themselves, will be able to distinguish good from evil, beauty from bad taste and will was able to positively used in personal and family life.

One of the fundamental and important dimensions of Fr. Michael Sopocko’s life and work was his pedagogical activity and creativity. Fr. Sopocko taught as a lecturer in the seminary for the majority of his life and at the university for a number of years. He left a rich legacy of research and academic work in the form of popular and journal publications. Up to now, some minor studies have discussed Fr. Sopocko’s pedagogical achievements. This study contributes to a growing and important body of work by presenting Fr. Sopocko’s academic path, didactic work, and academic and written creativity and achievements as a pedagogue and educator.
Jednym z podstawowych i ważnych wymiarów życia i pracy ks. Michała Sopoćki była jego działalność i twórczość pedagogiczna. Przez większość swego życia prowadził dydaktykę, jako wykładowca w seminarium duchownym i przez szereg lat także na uniwersytecie. Pozostawił bogatą spuściznę naukową w postaci publikacji, a także dorobek pisarski o charakterze popularyzatorskim i publicystycznym. Dotychczas pojawiły się pomniejsze opracowania ukazujące jego dorobek w dziedzinie pedagogicznej. Niniejsze opracowanie przedstawia naukową drogę, pracę dydaktyczną oraz twórczość naukową i piśmienniczą ks. Sopoćki, jako pedagoga i wychowawcy. Jest to zaledwie przyczynek w tym ważnym temacie.

Wychowanie - to proces, który ma największy wpływ na prawidłowe kształtowanie osobowości dziecka. To jedno z najważniejszych pojęć w pedagogice. Specyficzne miejsce w rozumieniu celu wychowania zajmuje katolicka koncepcja wychowania. Wynika to stąd, że chrześcijaństwo jest religią objawioną przez Boga ujawniającego się jako Osoba pełna miłości. Celem wychowania chrześcijańskiego, które jest kontynuacją Bożego wychowania, wyrażającego się we współdziałaniu człowieka z łaską Bożą, jest ukształtowanie człowieka doskonałego, chrześcijanina będącego człowiekiem wzorującego się na działaniu Chrystusa. Refleksja związana z pojęciem „wychowanie chrześcijańskie” związana jest z rozważaniem na temat wartości, jakie powinny być wnoszone w dziedzinę wychowania oraz przygotowanie młodzieży do życia w duchu religijności – stanowić fundament tego procesu i przygotowania młodzieży. Istotną rolę w tych działaniach spełniała też edukacja moralna. Dzisiaj nie brakuje wśród młodzieży w Polsce i na całym świecie grup wrażliwych na duchowe wartości, szukających pomocy i oparcia w procesie dojrzewania ich chrześcijańskiej osobowości. Dużą rolę odgrywa w tym procesie uczestnictwo i praca na rzecz scholi, która zajmuje się muzyczną oprawą podczas różnorakich uroczystości religijnych, szczególnie Mszy św.
Upbringing is a process which has the greatest influence upon the correct formulation of a child personality. It is one of the most important notions in pedagogy. A specific place in understanding the goal of upbringing is taken by the catholic concept of education. It is because Christianity is a religion revealed by God disclosing himself as a person full of love. The purpose of Christian upbringing/education, which is a continuation of God's pedagogy, expressed in human interaction with God's grace, is to form a perfect man, a Christian who is following Christ. Reflection concerning the phrase "Christian education" is associated with the study of the values that/which should be introduced in the field of education and preparing young people for life in the spirit of religion. The essential role in these activities was played by moral education. Today we do not observe a shortage of those among the youth in Poland and all over the world, who would be sensitive to spiritual values and look for help and support in the process of maturation of their Christian personality. A great role in this process belongs to the participation and work for the church choir, which offers a musical frame for various religious ceremonies, especially the Mass.

Nauczanie kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w kwestii rodziny było teologiczną analizą jej funkcjonowania w okresie powojennym w Polsce. Postulował on, aby podstawą rodziny był sakramentalny i nierozerwalny związek małżeński mężczyzny i kobiety, którzy z otwartością przyjmują życie swoich dzieci, a życie rodzinne opierają na modlitwie, Biblii i sakramentach. Badania empiryczne potwierdzają prawdziwość tych postulatów, gdyż dowodzą, iż rodziny z wysokim poziomem religijności, czyli rodziny „Bogiem silne”, lepiej funkcjonują w różnych wymiarach życia małżeńskiego i rodzinnego niż rodziny z niskim poziomem religijności.
The teaching of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński on the issue of the family was a theological analysis of its functioning in the post-war period in Poland. He postulated that the basis of the family should be the sacramental and indissoluble marital union of a man and a woman who openly accept the lives of their children, and base their family life on prayer, the Bible and the sacraments. Empirical research confirms the truth of these postulates, as they prove that families with a high level of religiosity, namely families “strong with God”, function better in various dimensions of marital and family life than families with a low level of religiosity.

Christian is a religion that assumes the personalistic and integral conception of man. The human individual is an individual and personal being with physical (carnal) and spiritual (religious, eschatological) dimensions. In the process of shaping a mature Christian personality the awareness of vocation, hope for full (physical, intellectual, social, and religious-moral) development, and accomplishment of the human goal worthy of the person play an important role. The awareness of one's own calling, general (to holiness) and personal (to a particular social role), are important elements in Christian education. This education is based on the principles of religion initiated by Jesus, and it consists in conveying His message and self-improvement of the faithful in conformity with the rules of the Gospel. The latter's ideal being the love of God and brotherly love among people. Now analysing the issue of vocation and hope in Christian education one may state that in the light of the Catholic doctrine man is a person capable of development. In this process it is important that the faithful understand their own calling and adopt attitudes of love and hope. Hope strengthens motivation to realise general propositions and individual obligations, that is, social roles. Man is called by God to salvation and definite tasks. With his autonomous decision he responds to this calling by his respective way of life. The latter shoud be imbued with the faith in God, love of God and neighbour, and hope that one has some opportunities for development, perfectibility (to be holy) and eternal life. According to Christian understanding, God with His independent decision endows man with the gift of calling to life and holiness. Man may accept this proposal or not. Acting against God's intention, however, always brings forth dramatic consequences. To sum up, we may say that the attitude of Christian hope helps us overcome the difficulties in our worldly life, so that we can make efforts to accomplish the goal of the Kingdom of God (heaven). The awarness of one's own vocation and a clear goal, i.e. life with God and eternal bliss, are important elements that confer the ultimate sense on human existence and factors conducive to the personal development of man.

Współczesna szkoła w Europie proponuje cele edukacyjne zmierzające do integralnego rozwoju osoby. Instytucja ta realizuje proces edukacji dzięki rozwijaniu kompetencji, zdolności i wiedzy w różnych dziedzinach życia, również tych religijnych. Aby wzniecić w nowych pokoleniach poczucie „religijności” konieczne jest nie tylko, aby każdy nauczyciel religii posiadał wiedzę o różnych nurtach pedagogicznych i teoriach naukowych, ale przede wszystkim wiedział, jak odpowiedzieć na konkretne wyzwania współczesnego społeczeństwa. Kompetencje nauczyciela religii w Europie muszą więc wykraczać poza granice państw, kultur, religii, aby w procesie wychowawczym kształtować młodzież umiejącą odpowiedzieć na nowe wyzwania przemian społeczno-politycznych, geograficznych i religijnych. Wyzwania te wprowadzają do nauczania religii potrzebę pogłębiania kompetencji pedagogicznych, psychologicznych, teologicznych i dydaktycznych. Nauczanie religii powinno być pomocne w integrowaniu Wspólnoty Europejskiej.
Modern schools in Europe propose educational goals that aim at an integral development of an individual. School as an institution carries out educational processes by developing competence, skills and knowledge in various areas of life, including religion. To incite a sense of “religion” in new generations, it is expedient that every teacher of religion should not only have knowledge of various pedagogical currents and scientific theories but, above all, s/he should know how to respond to the specific challenges of the modern society. The competence of religion teachers in Europe must, therefore, go beyond the borders of countries, cultures and religions, so that, the educational process could enable young people to respond to the new socio-political, geographic and religious challenges. Those challenges imply the necessity of deepening pedagogical, psychological, theological and educational skills of religion teachers. Teaching of religion can help in the integration of the European Community.

Problematyka pracy nabrała szczególnego znaczenia w okresie transformacji ustrojowej w Polsce pod koniec minionego stulecia. Dokonujące się wtedy przemiany spowodowały m.in. zmianę podejścia do pracy jako wartości. Artykuł podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie o to, jak procesy wychowania chrześcijańskiego mogą wspomagać osobę w odkrywaniu wartości pracy. Z pytaniem tym wiąże się drugie, czy odkrywanie wartości pracy sprzyja osiąganiu pełni człowieczeństwa oraz życiowego sukcesu. Tezą artykułu jest przekonanie, że o ile potrafimy nadać pracy znaczenie humanistyczne – w rozumieniu służby dobru i rozwojowi człowieka – a nadto, jeśli zdołamy przenieść jej walory na płaszczyznę religijną, to się okaże, że zostanie dostrzeżona jako wartość, która sprzyja odnoszeniu życiowego sukcesu. W odkrywanie tej wartości wiele może wnieść religia odsłaniająca przed człowiekiem nowe perspektywy jego życia i rozwoju.
The problematics of work gained special significance in the period of political transformation in Poland at the end of the last century. The changes taking place at that time caused, among others, a change in approach to work as a value. The article attempts to answer the question of how the processes of Christian education can support a person in discovering the value of work. The second question is whether discovering the value of work is conducive to achieving humanity and life success. The thesis of the article is the belief that if we are able to give work a humanistic meaning – in terms of the serving good and human development – and, if we manage to transfer its virtues to the religious plane, its value that favours life success will be seen. In discovering this value, much can be brought about by religion that reveals new life and development perspectives for humans.

Opis:
This article attempts to theoretically define the term “divine pedagogy”, which is very important for Christian education practices. On the basis of natural cognition the meaningfulness of this term is based on the view on the existence of personal God, which decontradictifies the existence of a being composed of the act of existence and essence. The human person participates in God. This vertical dimension of human life may also be regarded metaphysically as a continuous keeping in existence. Also, the issue of the personal being of man, his/her natural religiosity are important components that create the intellectual climate of philosophy open to faith. In contemporary culture, this lack of such openness is visible in, which does not facilitate a perception of the place of Christian pedagogy in academic discourse. Philosophical solutions are responsible for this state of affairs. Overall, the point is whether man can cognitively ascertain the reality of the religious relationship on the part of its object, i.e. personal God, and thereby integrate the horizontal dimension of education with vertical one whereby the act of upbringing, human pedagogy is performed in the perspective of divine pedagogy. Therefore, the article recalls the Thomistic metaphysics and its thesis that reason and faith are complementary.

Niniejszy artykuł w sposób syntetyczny ukazuje specyficzne rysy sylwetki duchowej oraz wybrane fakty z życia przyszłego błogosławionego, Prymasa Tysiąclecia Stefana Wyszyńskiego, jakie wyłaniają się na podstawie analizy jego działalności i nauczania. Źródłem wiedzy o Prymasie uczyniono jego przemówienia, kazania, homilie, notatki z czasu, kiedy był on więziony. Problematyka badań nad postacią i dziedzictwem Prymasa Stefana Wyszyńskiego uwidacznia się w potrzebie dociekań autora dotyczących doświadczeń wiary oraz możliwości wykorzystania poznawanej rzeczywistości w praktyce pedagogicznej wychowania resocjalizacyjnego.
The many years of activity of the Servant of God Stefan Wyszynski for the Church in Poland and the defense of Polish identity are visible in the field of searching for the face of contemporary values in the context of upbringing, characteristics of Christianity. This article presents in a synthetic way the specific features of the spiritual figure and selected facts from the life of the future blessed, the Primate of the Millennium, Stefan Wyszyński, which emerge on the basis of the analysis of his activities and teaching. The source of knowledge about the primate were his speeches, sermons, homilies, notes from the time when he was imprisoned. The issue of research on the figure and heritage of Primate Stefan Wyszyński is visible in the author's need for research on the experience of faith and the possibility of using the reality he learns in the pedagogical practice of social rehabilitation education.

The article undertakes an analysis of various aspects of religious education in Europe in the intercultural and interreligious era. In particular, it emphasizes education and its proposals from the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences. The author presents international organisms, affecting religious education focusing, in particular, on the role of UNESCO and the Council of Europe. Document entitled “White Paper” offers substantial help to intercultural dialogue in European countries. The article, presents also the criteria for intercultural dialogue and civic education

This paper analyses two prayer books, authored by two Sisters Couriers of Christ’s Sacred Heart: Józefa Chudzyńska (1836-1914) and Cecylia Plater-Zyberk (1853-1920). The prayer book by Chudzyńska was entitled Preparation for Confession and Easter Holy Communion – A Three-day Retreat for Youth [...] in the Form of a Private Conversation. The latter book was entitled Catholic Life. A Book for Prayer and Contemplation in Two Parts. Both books used Catholic religion as their background – with its emphasis on Gospel, Catechism and liturgy – in order to create a new model of a Catholic woman: a good wife and mother, a careful housekeeper, an open neighbour and a person who performs duly all the duties of her state out of her Catholic inspiration.

Many institutions deal with the problem of bringing up children and young people. One of them is the Catholic Church. The 21st century is a time when some scientists claim that the parental education authority has disappeared, teachers have become only communicators of knowledge in lessons and the Church is a relic of a bygone with no right to take care of the younger generation. Facing such postulates, pedagogues and psychologists associated in the Institute of Integrated Prophylaxis decided to carry out statistical research. The purpose of this surveys was, to indicate the impact of particular educational environments on young people.The authors of the study showed that the child, even if it does not show, very o@en needs the parents authority. This situation positively affects the child's development and protects children and adolescents from harmful situations. Young people expect to be heard and understood. The dialogue is easiest way to prevent the emergence of risky and anti-social behavior in children’s life. Similar tasks, especially in relation to children from broken families, have teachers. More than half of young people point from one to several teachers who were important to them in matters of life. It has also been proved that religious education and the activity of various religious groups, headed by the Catholic Church, constitute an important help in the process of education. Those people for whom faith is important, who live according to religion, are much less susceptible to the emergence of different educational problems in their lives.In conclusion, it should be noted that the research took into account the activity of these three environments without taking into account the cooperation of these institutions. Cooperation could reduce the appearance of various problems to zero.
