    Opis:
    The paper presents the analysis of types of modifications in idiomatic expressions based on the particular examples extracted from comments and opinions from press texts in both Polish and French Internet editions. The main task of the analysis was to reveal the diversity of the operations and to compare how they function in both languages. The review of the examples from the presented phraseological innovations proves that both common as well as different operations exist for both Polish and French. Some modifications have the effect of word games allowing to activate a literal sense or a new meaning in a context.
    Dans cet article, nous étudions les différents types de modifications des unités phraséologiques qui apparaissent dans les textes de presse électronique française et polonaise et les commentaires sous les articles en ligne. Notre objectif principal était de décrire le fonctionnement de ces unités dans le discours journalistique et de montrer la diversité des procédés utilisés en français et en polonais. Notre analyse a permis de détecter les opérations communes et celles qui sont caractéristiques pour les deux langues comparées. Certaines modifications ont pour effet les jeux de mots permettant d’activer un sens littéral ou un sens nouveau actualisé dans un contexte adéquat.
    W artykule przeanalizowano pod różnym kątem przykłady modyfikacji związków frazeologicznych, pochodzące z komentarzy i wypowiedzi do tekstów prasowych w polskich i francuskich wydaniach internetowych. Głównym zadaniem było pokazanie różnorodności użytych środków oraz porównanie sposobu ich funkcjonowania w obu językach. Analiza przykładów innowacji frazeologicznych dowodzi, że istnieją operacje zarówno wspólne, jak i odmienne dla obu systemów językowych. W niektórych modyfikacjach występuje gra słów, w której aktualne staje się znaczenie dosłowne związku lub w odpowiednim kontekście pojawia się nowe znaczenie.

    Opis:
    Powieść Olgi Tokarczuk Księgi Jakubowe to szeroka i skomplikowana panorama epicka, której akcja dzieje się na pograniczach państw, kultur i religii. Przetłumaczenie takiego utworu na jakikolwiek język to zadanie wymagające dużego trudu i starannych przygotowań, skierowanych przede wszystkim na opanowanie wszystkich możliwych kontekstów – historycznych, językowych, wyznaniowych. Szczególnie zaś trudnym wyzwaniem jest przetłumaczenie Ksiąg Jakubowych na jeden z języków, które są elementem rzeczywistości przedstawionej w powieści i znajdują się w relacjach interferencyjnych z innymi językami, używanymi przez bohaterów lub funkcjonującymi w ich środowiskach. Takim językiem jest właśnie język ukraiński. Artykuł jest próbą podsumowania doświadczenia przekładu powieści na ten język z uwzględnieniem największych trudności, z którymi przyszło zmierzyć się tłumaczowi.
    Olga Tokarczuk’s novel The Books of Jacob is a wide and complicated epic panorama the action of which takes place on the borderlands of countries, cultures, and religions. Translating such a work into any language is a task that requires a lot of effort and careful preparation, aimed first of all at exploring all possible contexts: historical, linguistic, religious. A particularly difficult challenge is to translate The Books of Jacob into one of the languages that are part of the reality presented in the novel and are in relationships of interference with other languages used by the characters or functioning in their environments. Ukrainian is such a language. This article is an attempt to summarise the experience of translating the novel into this language, taking into account the greatest difficulties faced by the translator.

    The reorientation of linguistics to the study of the regularities of its functioning in stylistics, manifested in the fact that functional style has been regarded as a type of language in any sphere of human activity, regards language in the aspect of differentiation and modification in the basic speech varieties. It is not by chance that text samples from different areas of communication are used in frequency dictionaries. Understanding style as a way to integrate speech performance first put forward the questions of the compositional-semantic organization of the text, the realization of its categories, constructive principles, and techniques. In functional stylistics studies the two main areas – the use of language and the organization of a speech performance – are analyzed as complementary, but cohesion requires understanding the regularities of the functioning of language units in a text with many objectives, updated in texts of the given sphere. To resolve this problem, it is reasonable to rely on the notion of speech genres, each of which is a sequence of standard cognitive-communicative actions – structural elements acting as an object in the text of spiritual socio-cultural activities. The analysis of these actions has revealed and systematized lexical units in communicative composition of language material (Gasparov 2010). This text-centered study of functioning of lexical and other means is of interest not only for the theory of style (and, more broadly, in speech study), but also to practice learning the language in its functional varieties.

    The object of this article is to illuminate new derivates that were created on the basis of precedent names in novels of modern Ukrainian author Eygen Pashkovsky. Language games in the process of word-formation show a tendency towards democratization in Ukrainian language and disappearing bounds between spoken and literary language. New words that appear on the basis of well-known proper names widen different parts of speech i.e., adjectives, verbs, nouns. Expanding semantics and hyper-expression of author’s neologisms are analyzed in the context of language games. The author of the article suggests that precedent names modified in language game expand their semantics and attract attention due to their form.
    В статье рассмзтриваются дериваты, созданные на основе прецедентных имен в романах современного украинского писателя Евгения Пашковского. Языковые игры в процессе словообразоаания свидетельствуют о тенденции к демократизации и стиранию границ между разговорным и литературным языком. Новые слова, образованные на основе хорошо известных имен собственных ринадлежат разным частям речи: прилагательным, глаголам, именам существительным. В контексте языковой игры рассматривается расширение семантики и гиперэксрессия авторских неологизмов.
