    Opis:
    The article discusses the changes in models of women’s role including the period of actual socialism and new socio-systematic reality after 1989. The main aim is to prove that discrimination of women in the public sphere is generated by cultural factors, among which the traditional model appears to be the most powerful. The author presents the evolution of said model as a continuum constructed specifically for this very purpose. The continuum takes the form of a trichotomy: traditional model – modernized model – contemporary model. By extracting features most typical for each of the models mentioned she attempts to show that they coexist and form diverse configurations and their common feature is a slow departure from tradition limiting women’s activity to private sphere and approach in the direction of modernity and full participation in public sphere. Professional activisation, civil activity and participation in politics become the examples of modernity.

    The purpose of the article is to analyze the roles of women described in the drama by Szymon Szymonowic entitled “Pentesilea” . Continuing on the topic of the Trojan War and the accession of Pentezylea as the main heroine of this drama, it begins with a reflection on the woman’s place in the world, her responsibilities, rights and privileges. The author describes the behavior of all women who appear in the text, shows the differnces xbetween them, their personalities and their opinions about gender. The conclusions from the article, in addition to the references on the situation of women from the previous centuries, also deal with the Szymonowic’s personal views.

    The activity of women in terrorism has been observed in various organizations around the world. The membership of women in terrorist groups is strictly associated with a plan of action of organizations and potential targets. A structure of a group is also of significant importance. The psychological background of terrorism with women’s participation is particularly linked with functions performed by women terrorists in accordance with their personal predispositions and requirements of a terrorist group. The article presents the women’s engagement in terrorism. Functions fulfilled by the women within terrorist organizations are also discussed. The special attention is drawn to leadership positions associated with the logistics and the issue of suicide bombing with women’s participation.
    Aktywność kobiet w terroryzmie miała miejsce w wielu organizacjach na całym świecie. Członkowsko kobiet w grupach terrorystycznych jest ściśle związane z planem działania organizacji oraz potencjalnymi celami. Nie bez znaczenia jest także sama struktura ugrupowania. Psychologiczne podłoże terroryzmu z udziałem kobiet jest szczególnie związane z funkcjami, jakie pełnią terrorystki zgodnie z ich osobistymi predyspozycjami i wymaganiami ugrupowania terrorystycznego. W artykule opisano kobiece zaangażowanie w terroryzm. Omówione zostały funkcje, jakie kobiety realizują w ramach organizacji terrorystycznych. Szczególna uwaga została zwrócona na role przywódcze, związane z logistyką oraz na problematykę zamachów samobójczych z udziałem kobiet.

    Artykuł stanowi próbę określenia ról społecznych kobiet prezentowanych na łamach „Vivy!” w latach 1997–2001. Otwarcie magazynu „Viva!” w 1997 r. dało początek polskiemu segmentowi prasy typu people, która stanowi formę pośrednią dla prasy rozrywkowo-plotkarskiej oraz prasy serca. Prezentując wiadomości o osobach rozpoznawalnych za pomocą sylwetek prasowych i wywiadów, „Viva!” łączy aspekty życia publicznego i prywatnego bohaterów. Ma to odzwierciedlenie w przedstawianych przez magazyn rolach społecznych. Analizie ilościowej, poprzedzonej rozważaniami teoretycznymi, poddano 763 sylwetki kobiet na płaszczyźnie pasywnej (bohaterek przekazów). Analiza zawartości pozwoliła zidentyfikować role społeczne bohaterek przekazów. Badanie ujawniło, że kobiety prezentowane na łamach czasopisma „Viva!” aktywnie uczestniczą w przestrzeni publicznej i prywatnej, pełniąc rozmaite role, w tym zarówno klasycznie utożsamiane z obiema sferami: zawodową i rodzinną, jak i niestandardowe, powiązane ze specyfiką magazynu – role krewnych i powinowatek osób sławnych.
    The article is an attempt to define the social roles of women presented in Viva! in the years 1997‒2001. The opening of the magazine Viva! in 1997 initiated the Polish people-type press segment, which is an intermediate form between the entertainment and gossip press and true story magazines. By presenting news about people recognizable through press profiles and interviews, Viva! combines aspects of public and private lives of woman characters. This is reflected in the social roles presented by the magazine. The quantitative analysis, preceded by theoretical considerations, was performed on 763 profiles of women on the passive plane (the characters of media coverages). The content analysis allowed the author to identify the social roles of women of the media coverage. The study revealed that women featured in the magazine Viva! actively participate in public and private spaces, playing a variety of roles, including those that are classically identified with both spheres: professional and family, as well as those non-standard, related to the specificity of the magazine – the roles of relatives and affinities of famous people.

    The economic industrialization in the 1920s and 1930s influenced the structure of the society. It was also present in fiction, particularly in poetry. In understanding women the concept of progress had certain peculiarities, since it was associated with the changes of social roles women performed. Just examine the works of Z. Bandaryn, E. Pflaumbaum and other authors of Eastern Belarus. They are an evidence that understanding progress was connected with: a) development of science and technology; b) changing (or at least declaring such changes) gender roles and strengthening the position of women in society (in the party) and in literature. However, in female poetry of this period there is lack of reflection, a critical attitude towards the changes in women’s lives, especially with regard to the results of these changes. Progress was understood and portrayed unilaterally without analyzing women’s social status and their position in society.

    The purpose of the work is to present responsibilities to a family assigned to professionally active women by editors of the Poznań magazine titled „Gazeta dla Kobiet” (Newspaper for Women), which, for many years, was a body of Związek Stowarzyszeń Kobiet Pracujących (Association of Working Women’s Societies) and since 1936 – of Katolicki Związek Kobiet Catholic Women’s Association), which was the women’s headquarters of Akcja Katolicka (Catholic Campaign). The analysis of 21 annual volumes showed that a woman was recognized as an organizer of everyday family life and a performer of all activities which were supposed to ensure the survival of her closest family members. A woman was seen as a person taking care of a development of marital relationships and harmonious relationships with children. She was required to be able to take care of babies and raise children rationally. It was believed that a woman, as a conscious follower of Catholicism, should introduce her daughters and sons to religious practices. Moreover, she was expected to take care of her appearance, be intuitive, have common sense, and be in a good mood. The periodical accepted professional activities of women in part. It appreciated their contribution to the family budget; on the other hand, it recognized the collision between the role of a hostess, wife, and mother and all-day work away from home. Therefore, supporting the maintenance of the family model which was common at the time, it encouraged women to resign from their jobs, in particular when their husbands earned a lot, and proposed that women should develop their own interests by being active in Catholic women’s associations.
    Przedmiotem artykułu jest ukazanie zadań wobec rodziny stawianych kobietom aktywnym zawodowo przez redakcję poznańskiego czasopisma „Gazeta dla Kobiet”, które było przez wiele lat organem Związku Stowarzyszeń Kobiet Pracujących, natomiast od 1936 roku Katolickiego Związku Kobiet – centrali kobiecej Akcji Katolickiej. Analiza 21 roczników tego periodyku wykazała, że kobietę postrzegano jako organizatorkę codziennego życia domowego oraz wykonawczynię wszelkich czynności zapewniających byt najbliższym. Widziano w niej osobę troszczącą się o rozwój więzi małżeńskich i harmonijne układające się kontakty z dziećmi. Wymagano od niej umiejętności pielęgnowania niemowląt i racjonalnego wychowywania potomstwa. Uważano, że jako świadoma wyznawczyni religii katolickiej powinna wprowadzać córki i synów w praktyki tej wiary. Ponadto oczekiwano od niej dbałości o swój wygląd zewnętrzny, wykazywania się intuicją, mądrością życiową i dobrym nastrojem. Periodyk połowicznie akceptował zaangażowanie zawodowe kobiet, z jednej strony doceniał ich wkład w wzbogacanie budżetu rodzinnego, z drugiej – dostrzegał kolizję między rolą gospodyni, żony i matki a ich wielogodzinną pracą poza domem. Stojąc jednak na stanowisku utrzymania dotychczasowego modelu rodziny, dostrzegał dodatkowe pola aktywności pań domu, które umożliwiały im rozwijanie własnych zainteresowań w postaci angażowania się w prace kobiecych stowarzyszeń, głównie katolickich.
