Opis:
In the present study to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of Terminalia arjuna (Roxb.) Wight & Arn barks. Many of the plant materials, from which natural dyes are obtained, found to have some medicinal values. During the present study, dying materials were prepared from barks of Terminalia arjuna. The well diffusion method was adopted to examine antimicrobial activity of dying material against test organisms. The result showed that the dying material of Terminalia arjuna was most active for antibacterial (8 mm) and antifungal (7 mm). Results of the present study suggest that the dying material of Terminalia arjuna has significant antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria and fungus.

Opis:
A series of cyanopyran derivatives have been synthesized and their structures were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral data. All these synthesized compounds were tested in vitro for their antimicrobial potential by agar-well diffusion method against Gram positive, Gram negative strains of bacteria as well as fungal strains in N,N-dimethylformamide and dimethyl sulfoxide.

Opis:
Pharmaceutical compounds have been introduced into the aquatic ecosystems in multiple ways and sources, which negatively affects the health of the environment and humans. The river near the hospital sewage disposal is host environment for drug-resistant bacteria (DRB). In this context, the aim of the research was to detect the presence of pharmaceuticals in hospital wastewater, after treatment, at river point followed by isolation of bacteria and test for resistant pharmaceutical compound. Fifteen species of bacteria isolated by angiogenic methods were identified and tested using the well diffusion test to determine the resistance of selected bacteria to ibuprofen by survival assessment. This study showed that the ibuprofen detected by GC-mass was available in all selected points at a concentration of 3 to 120 mg/L. Lecuco. mesen.cremris and Koc.rosea have a high ability to break down the ibuprofen compound. Thus, the bacteria isolated from hospital wastewater can biologically degrade ibuprofen.
