Opis:
An analysis of the web application supporting the management of the gym was carried out, which was designed in terms of the theory of control and systems. The obtained results of measurements of input and output quantities of selected subsystems were used to carry out the identification, as a result of which models of web application subsystems were obtained. On the basis of the obtained subsystem models, appropriate models were then designed in Simulink for the purposes of simulation and comparative studies of the behavior of subsystem models in relation to real systems that are web applications, including an appropriate analysis of the web application system model was carried out under the name of the gym on its selected subsystems, including in particular the subsystem called Generating a diet. In addition, testing and simulation studies were carried out to check the correct functioning of the web application management system model and the introduction of appropriate changes to the model was proposed, and the obtained research results were discussed, indicating the high accuracy of the obtained web application models.

The article deals with the issues of user identity management in the context of distributed web systems. The basic concepts and presented possible solutions related to the property of Single sign on (SSO) which can provide an access to multiple connected systems after a single login have been identified. The method of selecting a specific solution that can provide SSO has been exemplified by the decision process in the ActGo-Gate project. Taking the above information into consideration, OpenID Connect (OIDC) should better meet the project’s expectations as it satisfies all the mentioned requirements to an acceptable extent, and therefore should ensure full SSO property in cooperation with the common user directory. Then the particular solution chosen for implementing OIDC is Connect2id (as Identity Provider) with the OpenDJ LDAP user directory. The most important arguments in favor of that decision were presented in the paper.

Opis:
Features of web-based recommending systems can be considered both from the perspective of providing access to certain options or from the commercial applications and marketing. Due to different applications different objectives and criteria for their evaluation, and application areas can be distinguished here. In the case of online platforms focused on business goals recommending interfaces play an important role that provide matching products to customer preference. Research areas related to recommending systems have usually focused on algorithmic layer and mechanisms of selection of offers. More and more often, attention is also drawn to the way of visualization offers and presentation layer. The article examines the design of recommending interfaces focused on certain acquisition-oriented interaction with a receiver, and the use of mechanisms of selection of the level of influence and persuasion. The solution enables the selection of design options, and multi-criteria assessment of the effects, which is meant to take into account both business purpose and customer satisfaction level.

The work presents the Dero simulator with a behavioral model description language. Behavioral description enables modeling and simulation of physical phenomena. Thanks to these features, the Dero can be used in the didactic process as a modeling and simulation tool. The interface through websites has been integrated with the Quela learning process management platform. The system allows the creation of virtual laboratories.
W pracy przedstawiono symulator Dero z behawioralnym językiem opisu modelu. Opis behawioralny umożliwia modelowanie i symulację zjawisk fizycznych. Dzięki tym funkcjom symulator Dero może być wykorzystywany w procesie dydaktycznym jako narzędzie do modelowania i symulacji. Interfejs graficzny za pośrednictwem stron internetowych został zintegrowany z platformą zarządzania procesem nauczania Quela. System umożliwia tworzenie wirtualnych laboratoriów.

The scope and complexity of current World Wide Web applications vary widely: from small scale, short-lived services to large-scale enterprise applications distributed across the Internet and corporate intranets and extranets. As Web applications have evolved, the demands placed on Web-based systems and the complexity of designing, developing, maintaining, and managing these systems have also increased significantly. They provided vast, dynamic information in multiple media formats (graphics, images, and video). Web site design for these and many other applications demand balance among information content, aesthetics, and performance. In accordance with the growth of the Internet and World Wide Web, there has been some research on quality issues of Web-based software systems. The main problems and challenges in achieving high quality of the Web-based information systems are discussed in the paper.
Przedstawione w artykule rozważania dotyczą problematyki jakości webowych systemów informatycznych, tj. systemów, podstawowa funkcjonalność których jest dostępna za pośrednictwem przeglądarki internetowej. Z uwagi na bardzo gwałtowny rozwój technologii internetowych i aplikacji webowych problematyka ta ma bardzo duże i stale rosnące znaczenie praktyczne. Zasadniczym celem zawartych w artykule rozważań jest identyfikacja podstawowych czynników wpływających na jakość oprogramowania aplikacji webowych oraz analiza różnic pomiędzy technologiami ich wytwarzania, a technologiami wytwarzania oprogramowania konwencjonalnych systemów informatycznych. Artykuł składa się z trzech części. Część pierwsza zawiera opis ewolucji webowych systemów informatycznych. W części drugiej przedstawiona została charakterystyka stosowanych w praktyce kryteriów do oceny jakości oprogramowania aplikacji webowych. W trzeciej części artykułu przedstawione zostały podstawowe techniki modelowania jakości oprogramowania webowych systemów informatycznych.

The paper describes stages of development of the Semantic Web, classifies them, and describes proposed methods of utilizing the Internet in the future. It delves into issues pertaining the Web-based technology, and the mechanisms which, perfected and popularized, will lead to creation of Web 4.0. The observed rapid increase in the amount of data available on the Internet leads to difficulties in fast selection of content relevant to the user. The nature of the human language causes considerable obstacles for machine pattern recognition of information contained within the given content. This results in slow and inefficient extraction of valuable data. The basis for proper machine recognition of patterns contained on the Internet is the process of creating ontologies. The paper describes the most important features of ontologies and methods of describing information in such a way that its structure is clear to agents and multi-agent systems. The authors also present the issues of improving the quality of human life by proper management of information on the Internet. As its basis the paper uses a case study of ontology of City Hall of Częstochowa.

Modern Internet and web applications involve interactions among remote host computers connected by communication networks. Simulation modelling is an important technique to evaluate performance in the implementation of a web-distributed application over given networks formed by computer hosts connected by heterogeneous networks. In this paper we extend a previous work concerning the construction of a queue-based simulator of communication networks. We define a set of new queue-based object types which permit us to specify the behaviour of a web-distributed application whose software components run over different hosts in a given communication network. We apply this technique to show how to build a simulator to evaluate the performance of various software architectures for a web-distributed application run over a given computer network.

Sieci semantyczne skupiają coraz większą uwagę zarówno środowisk naukowych, jak i producentów komercyjnych rozwiązań IT. Związane z nimi prace badawcze koncentrują się obecnie na poszukiwaniu właściwych rozwiązań, standaryzacji i konstruowaniu metodologii ich wykorzystania. Jednocześnie w nowym podejściu do zagadnień zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem zwraca się szczególną uwagę na dynamicznie zachodzące zmiany w otoczeniu działania przedsiębiorstwa i konieczną modyfikację stosowanych do tej pory schematów działania. Zapewnienie wydajnej współpracy komórek organizacyjnych przedsiębiorstw wymaga, między innymi wykorzystania nowoczesnych technologii nadążających za dynamiką tych zmian. W artykule została zaprezentowana idea wykorzystania sieci semantycznych jako uzupełnienia dotychczas istniejących rozwiązań IT, głównie w zakresie integracji systemów informatycznych. Wskazane zostały również przedsięwzięcia mające na celu praktyczne zastosowanie sieci semantycznych w przemyśle.
Semantic web is point of interest both scientific researchers and producers of IT solutions. Research area is focused on finding appropriate solution, standardization and methodology of semantics use. Meanwhile, a new approach to business management issues, requires the use of modern technology that will follow the dynamic changes of the enterprise environment. This article is presenting the idea of using semantic web technology as a support already existing IT solutions, mainly in the area of the IT systems integration, as well as some applications of semantic web in the industry.

Cloud computing presents scientists and engineers with new challenges related to the architecture of information systems and their use. This paper addresses the problem of deployment of decision supporting system in computing cloud. The author of the document presented the application of this approach that lies on intelligent discovery of web services within geographic information systems. Many important aspects of nowadays’ IT systems have been considered like the domain of Web GIS, network of agents architecture, semantics and ontology, integration of external knowledge bases, deployment of applications into the cloud. It has been proven that based on them, it is possible to create a software that uses a natural language to submit queries to a system whose operating environment is a PaaS (Platform as a Service) class platform. Another aspect discussed in this article was the approach to build so-called virtual organizations in which data and knowledge exchange takes place via web services. As an example, integration with Google Geocoding API is shown, where the web API provides geographic location based on the location expressed in natural language, e.g. home address, tourist point.

The Internet and Internet search engines have revolutionized the way in which we search for, and integrate information into our daily lives. One of the problems with general Internet search engines is the diversity of contexts queries can assume. Therefore, the construction of context-restricted search engines designed for use within a specialized domain has been proposed (S. Lawrence, 2000). The objective of this article is to suggest a model for a collaborative, personalized meta-search agent system for the virtual manufacturing enterprise in the context of resource location and integration across scope of the extended manufacturing enterprise. The key differences between the proposed model and general search engines are (1) the ability to personalize the search task according to an individual user need, (2) the utilization of similar search sessions through partner collaboration at an information retrieval level, (3) leveraging on existing search services available on the virtual enterprise extranet and (4) autonomous behaviour through the use of intelligent agents. The perceived benefits of a such search agent system for the virtual enterprise are: (1) Enabling a consistent and uniform view of business entities through improved access to information, (2) Simplified access to operational data, (3) Effective access and retrieval of organizational model elements and (4) Improving data location and sharing between trading partners providing a platform for tighter process integration between trading partners. These benefits are critical for effective decision making in a collaborative engineering process followed by the differing entities in a virtual manufacturing organization to ultimately enable final product realization. An evaluation strategy for the COPEMSA system presented is then briefly discussed, metrics for evaluation of focused crawlers and justification for development and implementation of the search system proposed. Finally, this article concludes with remarks about the model presented and future research to be undertaken.

Since the mid-80s, considerable progress has been achieved in relational database technology. The main achievements have been in high performance, high reliability and availability, scalability and development tools. However, the environment for database systems is rapidly changing. There are new challenges that originate from the present hardware technology achievements, as well as from new kinds of data resources that hardly conform to the well-established relational data model (e.g. data from the Web). In the paper, we present the new challenges and research areas, as well as motivations behind them.

Rule languages and inference engines incorporate reasoning capabilities to Web information systems. This paper presents an approach for the specification and development of Web applications performing the usual functionalities of data management and incorporating a rule engine for reasoning capabilities. The proposed approach is based on the definition of a high-level representation of the semantics of rule-based applications through a formalism for conceptual modeling combining lightweight ontologies and production rules. These models are used as the source for a model-driven method that applies several transformations to conceptual models generating the rule-based Web application code in an automatic process. As a result, the rule-based Web application embeds a rule engine suitable for deducing information by applying an inference process. The structure of the information managed by the Web application is based on ontology classes, whereas the logical expressions applied in reasoning are obtained from production rules of the model. A rule-based Web application has been developed and evaluated using a supporting tool that implements the ideas presented in this paper.

Small to medium size enterprises are young and constantly changing their sphere of activities depending on fluctuations of the market. Accounting information systems (AIS) play a key role in providing the financial information for decision making within the enterprises. Advances in accounting information technology over the last several years have moved towards the online accounting. The online accounting system is web based and resides on a web server and anybody in the enterprise can access that accounting system with a simple browser. In the research we investigated the newest trends in AIS models for small to medium enterprises. Scientific works analysis of accounting software showed that their models were analyzed by foreign and Lithuanian scientists. However it is a lack of scientific papers on the newest trends in Lithuania. So that as methodology of this research was scientific works and comments of a number of reviewers. Many of them were sourced from the internet. Our survey of the newest trends in AIS models indicates advantages and dangers of AIS application within the business processes. Investigation of accounting software for Lithuanian small and medium enterprises was a part of the research. We have summarized only main accounting systems opportunities.

The paper describes the tools of marketing communication with e-customers and trendsconcerning e-commerce. Special attention has been paid to personalization and recommender systems.The paper treats the characteristics of consumer behaviours on the business-to-customermarket and the main barriers in customer relationship management. In this context the relationshipwith e-customers and the tools of marketing communication in electronic customer relationship havebeen described. The rapid growth of e-commerce has created product overload where customers onthe Web are no longer able to effectively choose the products they are exposed to. There is a lot ofimperfect information and a large supply available for consumers, and so it is extremely difficult toidentify their own needs and preferences and ways for satisfying them. Recommendations are a typeof communication and an especially important issue in e-marketing. It is easy to find many websiteswhere a customer needs advice before taking the decision to purchase a product. Therefore, recommendationsare a powerful tool to assist customers in these decisions. The paper refers to the challengesresulting from the growing importance of network and virtual communities, where the consumeris perceived as a value co-creator.
