Opis:
The design of a floating, innovative device for river water aeration and conversion of mechanical energy to electrical energy required the analysis of a number of geometrical and dynamic features. Such an analysis may be carried out on the basis of existing methods of numerical fluid mechanics. Models of pressures, forces and torques characteristic for the conversion of watercourse energy were developed for two basic concepts of innovation. These pressures, forces and torques were calculated, designed, and experimentally determined for the variable geometric form and dimensions of the designed working elements of the innovative roller-blade turbine rotor.

Opis:
The manner of estimating water drive gas reservoir recovery can vary considerably. Several mathematical models have been developed for estimating water influx in petroleum industry, but the current paper will address the application of Fetkovich aquifer model to predict the gas reservoir performance considering the pressure changes that gradually occur within the aquifer and between the aquifer and reservoir. The applicability of this model has proven to be extremely useful in estimation of initial gas resources, aquifer volume and its parameters, confirming the producing mechanism but also forecasting the production performance of the gas reservoir. The authors will highlight through some case studies, the importance of the water influx analysis and prediction, in particular for natural gas reservoirs, which subsequently allows for adequate planning in optimizing the reserves’ recovery.

Opis:
The paper evaluates application of CO2 injection for the control of water encroachment from the aquifer into gas-condensate reservoir under active natural water drive. The results of numerical simulations indicated that injection of CO2 at the initial gas-water contact (GWC) level reduces the influx of water into gas-bearing zone and stabilizes the operation of production wells for a longer period. The optimum number of injection wells that leads to the maximum estimated ultimate recovery (EUR) factor was derived based on statistical analysis of the results. The maximum number of injection wells at the moment of CO2 break-through into production wells for homogeneous reservoir is equal to 6.41 (6) and for heterogeneous – 7.74 (8) wells. Study results indicated that with the increase of reservoir heterogeneity, denser injection well pattern is needed for the efficient blockage of aquifer water influx in comparison to homogeneous one with the same conditions. Gas EUR factor for the maximum number of injection wells in homogenous model is equal 64.05% and in heterogeneous – 55.56%. Base depletion case the EURs are 51.72% and 49.44%, respectively. The study results showed the technological efficiency of CO2 injection into the producing reservoir at initial GWC for the reduction of water influx and improvement of ultimate hydrocarbon recovery.

Opis:
Natural gas fields over millions of years are exposed to various geological factors that affect their final state and shape. It happens that after some time of production, the reservoir has additional energy and greater gas resources than originally expected. The reason for this may be residual gas saturation below the specified gas–water contact, which has not been included in previous analyzes. Disregarding the residual hydrocarbon zone may lead to erroneous conclusions about resources, recovery factors and water breakthrough time. In this paper the residual gas zone impact on the production process from a real gas-condensate reservoir has been analyzed. The calculations were conducted using a dynamic reservoir model created in Eclipse numerical simulator. For the purpose of the analysis, 6 dynamic models were made. On their basis, an analysis of the impact on cumulative gas and water production was carried out for parameters such as: critical gas saturation in the residual zone and volume of aquifer. Based on the presented example, the overall gas initial in place after taking into account the residual zone has increased about 19%. However, the impact of the residual gas zone on cumulative gas production is not clearcut and its presence can have a positive as well as negative impact on the cumulative gas production. The size and type of the impact resulting from presence of the residual gas zone is directly related to the geological and reservoir conditions in the given reservoir and the way of production operation. The obtained results indicate also that the residual gas zone may affect the water breakthrough time in production wells as well as total volume of produced water.

Opis:
With the explosion of urbanization, more and more small residential areas with high population density, tiny houses, and narrow roads are formed. As a result, it is challenging for large fire engines to penetrate these areas in the event of a fire incident. In this paper, a compact firefighting vehicle was designed based on the SNAPPER LT140H331KV lawn mower. The vehicle is equipped with a water sprayer system and a folding frame water tank. The water sprayer system transmits power from the lawn mower transmission’s power take-off shaft via the belt and chain drive, which can spray water at a height of about 13 m with a flow rate of 38 L/min. The 500-liter folding frame water tank has a rectangular shape that can be folded and dragged as a trailer. The water sprayer system and folding frame water tank not only have a simple, compact structure but also do not affect the lawn mowing function. This fire truck has a maximum speed of about 15 km/h and can move in a minimal road width of only 1.3 m, which is accommodation for residential areas within a 1÷2 km radius with narrow roads, high density of population and houses in least developed and developing countries (e.g., Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia), where the normal fire engines are difficult to access in time. Besides, the vehicle can be used for watering and spraying pesticides on gardens and small premises. The study has proposed a valuable solution to take advantage of vehicle functions to improve their convenience and usefulness.

Prospecting with longer drilling wells, at greater depth of water, sets greater and greater technical challenges before designers, producers and users. Especially marine drilling, in new and unprospected areas, where exploration works are planned in the close future, where will necessitate involving higher deadweight capacity of on-water rig construction, machines of higher torque on the string, and more powerful mud pumps. Hence the need of making new equipment capable of performing necessary works safely and effectively.
Prowadzenie prac poszukiwawczych coraz dłuższymi otworami wiertniczymi i przy coraz większej głębokości wody, stawia przed konstruktorami, producentami i użytkownikami coraz wyższe wyzwania techniczne.

Opis:
The in-wheel motor is installed in wheels, and road excitation acts on the in-wheel motor directly through a wheel, which affects the flow field characteristics of the motor’s liquid cooling system, and affects the thermal field characteristics of the in-wheel motor. Aiming at this problem, the in-wheel motor drive system is taken as the research object in this paper. Firstly, the heat flow coupling analysis model of the in-wheel motor drive system is established by using the heat flow coupling theory. Then the vibration response of in-wheel motor stator and shell under different road excitation obtained from the previous study is taken as the load. Finally, thermal field characteristics of the water-cooled the in-wheel motor under different working conditions are studied, and the influence law of different speed and road grades on the thermal field characteristics is obtained. The results show that under the road excitation, the maximum temperature of each component of the in-wheel motor decreases due to the vibration effect of road excitation on the flow field of the cooling system, and the decrease of the stator and winding is the most obvious. Additionally, the higher the speed, the greater the road roughness coefficient, the greater the temperature drop of each component of the in-wheel motor. However, the thermal field distribution of local parts of the motor is relatively uneven under road excitation, which leads to greater thermal stress of the local parts and increases the risk of motor damage.
