Opis:: This paper describes simulations of speech sequences transmission for intrusive measurement of voice transmission quality of service (VTQoS) in the environment of IP networks. The aim of the simulations was to investigate the impact of the different durations of speech sequences on speech quality from the jitter rate and packet loss point of view in IP networks. The ITU-T G.729 and ITU-T G.723.1 encoding schemes were used for the purpose of the simulations. The assessment of speech quality was realized by means of perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) algorithm. A comparison of the impact of different durations of speech sequences on speech quality and determination of the optimal duration of speech sequence for measurements of speech quality in telecommunication networks, is the aim of this paper.

Opis:: Celem pracy była budowa systemu telefonii internetowej w oparciu o istniejącą infrastrukturę teleinformatyczną w przedsiębiorstwie rolniczym oraz porównanie kosztów eksploatacji zbudowanego systemu z dotychczas użytkowanym. W pracy przedstawiono porównanie kosztów rozmów telefonicznych przy użyciu VoIP w stosunku do kosztów rozmów realizowanych przy pomocy standardowych łączy analogowych POTS. Przedstawiono także rozwiązanie sprzętowe tego przedsięwzięcia. Jak wykazano w pracy koszty ponoszone na rozmowy telefoniczne z użyciem VoIP mogą stanowić znaczący element budżetu przedsiębiorstwa, gdyż są one o ponad połowę tańsze w stosunku do tradycyjnych rozwiązań. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w trzech przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych przez okres trzech miesięcy 2006 roku.
The purpose of the work was to design an internet communications system based on an existing data transmission infrastructure in an agricultural enterprise, and to compare operating costs of a new-built system with the system operated so far. The paper presents costs for telephone calls being made using the VoIP, compared to costs of calls via standard POTS analog links. Moreover, it shows the concept of equipment, which should be used in this project. As it has been shown in the paper, telephone calls via VoIP may be important for an enterprise budget, since their costs are more than twice lower than conventional communication. The research was carried out in three agricultural enterprises for three months in 2006.

Opis:: The article presents selected objective and subjective methods to assess the quality of voice services in telephone communication. The authors described the impact of the line and acoustic echo phenomena and ambient noise on the functions of telephone communication systems with respect to the speakerphone mode. Additionally, they discussed the possibilities to apply digital technology to improve the quality of voice services in telephone communication and alarm systems.
Przedstawiono wybrane metody oceny jakości usług głosowych w telefonii z uwzględnieniem metod subiektywnych i obiektywnych. Opisano wpływ zjawiska echa akustycznego i liniowego oraz hałasu otoczenia na funkcjonowanie systemów łączności telefonicznej z uwzględnieniem trybu głośnomówiącego. Omówiono możliwości zastosowania techniki cyfrowej dla poprawy jakości usług głosowych w kopalnianych systemach łączności telefonicznej i alarmowej.

Opis:: The paper presents modern personal services and new trends observed in evolution of wireless services. The article covers voice and data transmission services offered in mobile networks as well as information services delivered to users over Internet/IP networks. With reference to voice services, selected GSM services based on IN services platform, e.g., the services of flexible scenarios are described. Moreover, the status of VoIP service provided over WLAN is explained. Concerning data transmission services, selected UMTS services are presented as well. Among information services, presentation of wide scope of services offered to mobile users, e.g., messaging, location-based information, transferring text information, unified communications as well as Internet services, e.g., e-commerce, e-shopping, telebanking and micropayments is done. For both, voice and data transmission services, personal services are presented exclusively. Generally, the most attractive services with personal features are selected and described in this paper.

Opis:: Dokonano przeglądu najważniejszych obiektywnych metod porównawczych, stosowanych przy ocenie jakości mowy transmitowanej we współczesnych sieciach telekomunikacyjnych. A review of the most important objective comparative methods used in assessing the quality of speech transmission in modern telecommunications networks is presented. Specified and investigated is the influence of factors degrading voice quality in selected networks and the general process of testing the quality of speech transmission is presented. Values of speech quality index considered as optimal and acceptable by the users are also proposed.

Opis:: Designing a secured voice transmission system is not a trivial task. Wired media, thanks to their reliability and resistance to mechanical damage, seem an ideal solution. The BPL (Broadband over Power Line) cable is resistant to electricity stoppage and partial damage of phase conductors, ensuring continuity of transmission in case of an emergency. It seems an appropriate tool for delivering critical data, mostly clear and understandable voice messages. This paper describes such a system that was designed and evaluated in real-time operating conditions. It involved a two-way transmission of speech samples in American English and Polish. The efficiency of the designed solution was evaluated in the subjective study on a group of 15 people.
Opracowanie bezpiecznego systemu transmisji mowy nie jest trywialnym zadaniem. Media przewodowe, z uwagi na niezawodność i odporność na uszkodzenia mechaniczne, zdają się być idealnym rozwiązaniem. Kabel BPL (Broadband over Power Line) jest odporny na przerwy w dostawie prądu i częściowe uszkodzenie przewodników fazowych, zapewniając ciągłość transmisji w przypadku awarii. Wydaje się odpowiednim narzędziem do dostarczania istotnych danych, w szczególności wyraźnych i zrozumiałych komunikatów głosowych. Artykuł ten opisuje taki system, który został opracowany oraz zbadany w rzeczywistych warunkach pracy. Obejmował on dwukierunkową transmisję próbek mowy w języku angielskim (amerykańskim) oraz polskim. Skuteczność zaprojektowanego rozwiązania została oceniona w badaniu subiektywnym na grupie 15 osób.
