Opis:
A linear elliptic optimal control problem with point-wise state constraints in the interior of the domain is considered. Furthermore, the control is given on the boundary with associated constraints. An artificial distributed control is introduced in the cost functional, in the state equation and in the state constraints. Since there are no control constraints for the artificial control, efficient numerical methods can be easily established. Based on a possible violation of the pure pointwise state constraints, an error estimate for the regularization error is derived. The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical tests.

A new approach to control an omnidirectional mobile manipulator is developed. The robot is considered to be an individual agent aimed at performing robotic tasks described in terms of a displacement and a force interaction with the environment. A reactive architecture and impedance control are used to ensure reliable task execution in response to environment stimuli. The mechanical structure of our holonomic mobile manipulator is built of two joint manipulators mounted on a holonomic vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with three driven axles with two spherical orthogonal wheels. Taking into account the dynamical interaction between the base and the manipulator, one can define the dynamics of the mobile manipulator and design a nonlinear controller using the input-state linearization method. The control structure of the robot is built in order to demonstrate the main capabilities regarding navigation and obstacle avoidance. Several simulations were conducted to prove the effectiveness of this approach.

The issue addressed in the article concerns the current needs and possibilities of computer-aided design of adaptive control strategies in machining processes. A simulative method of selecting the adaptive feed control strategy while rough turning materials difficult to machine, effective and inexpensive in its implementation, based on controlling the load placed on the machine's drives, has been presented. The results of a number of virtual tests of the proposed feed control strategy have been included, while paying particular attention to the stability of the machining process during moments of sudden change in the machining allowance. The obtained results meet the accepted quality indicators of the control algorithm. At the same time, the experiences collected by the author while conducting the tests confirmed the complexity of the issue and the resulting necessity to implement a comprehensive simulation testing program.

Opis:
The introduction of CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) systems in the 1980s, aiming at integrating automatic workstations into fully automated factories, was not successful. The root causes of this failure were that the subsystems to be integrated were not suitably designed for easy integration into a larger system. This situation stimulated the authors to embark on a research programme on ‘design for the unexpected’. It defined how subsystems have to be designed so that integration into larger systems becomes easier and how such an integrated system can be controlled so that it can cope with change and disturbances. In the paper, the design principles and salient features of holonic manufacturing systems (HMS) are outlined. The PROSA reference architecture, defining the basic structure of any HMS, is described. It is further explained how coordination and control of the HMS is achieved by a holonic manufacturing execution system (HMES), based on the combination of the PROSA reference architecture and a biologically inspired Delegate Multiagent System (DMAS). Finally, the power and universality of the PROSA/DMAS system is demonstrated by some case studies from manufacturing, robotics and open air engineering.

In response to the inability of the flexible DC transmission system connected to the AC grid under conventional control strategies to provide inertia to the system as well as to participate in frequency regulation, a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategy is proposed for a voltage source converter (VSC)-based multi-terminal high-voltage direct current (VSC-MTDC) interconnection system. First, the virtual controller module is designed by coupling AC frequency and active power through virtual inertia control, so that the VSC-MTDC system can provide inertia response for AC grid frequency. Second, by introducing the power margin of the converter station into the droop coefficient, the unbalanced power on the DC side is reasonably allocated to reduce the overshoot of the DC voltage in the regulation process. Finally, the power regulation capability of the normal AC system is used to provide power support to the fault end system, reducing frequency deviations and enabling inter-regional resource complementation. The simulation model of the three-terminal flexible DC grid is built in PSCAD/EMTDC, and the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified by comparing the conventional control strategy and the additional frequency control strategy.

The aim of this paper is to present the influence of information technologies (IT) on the organization structure, particularly in the context of virtual organizations’ (VO) development. The work describes examples and new models of virtual organizations. Subject connected with this type of organization is comparatively young and has appeared in the Internet era. Thanks to the development of communication technology enterprises can function in more elastic and competitive way: in innovative virtual forms. This new type of organizations will enlarge their market share. There are possibilities to reduce costs and be more competitive in the same time. Electronic and computer systems make the fundaments of the virtual organization management. Main activities of such organization are: information flow control, planning, production, service, distribution of products, and promotion. In the global economy virtual projects can be perceived as an optimal model of the organization activity. The new organizations are aiming to reinforce their competitive position, as well as to increase the profitability; they have also to take care of the smallest project details, the exact control of costs and optimisation of schedules. Virtual projects and organizations are still not well recognized. New researches should be taken up in this field.

Passive noise reduction means are commonly used to reduce noise in the industry but, unfortunately, their effectiveness is poor in the low frequency range. By applying active structural acoustic control to the enclosure walls significant improvement of the insulating properties in this frequency range can be achieved. In this paper a model of double panel structure with ASAC is presented. The structure consists of two aluminium plates separated by an air gap. Two inertial magnetoelectric actuators and two piezoceramic MFC sensors were used for controlling the structure. A multichannel FxLMS algorithm with virtual error microphone technique is used as a control algorithm. The signal of a virtual error microphone is extrapolated basing on signals from MFC sensors. Performance of this actively controlled structure for tonal signals at selected frequencies is presented in the article. During the study, a double panel structure was mounted on one wall of sound insulating enclosure located in an acoustic chamber. During the measurements local and global reduction of noise test signal was investigated.

Further, to handle the limitation of limited Zone of Silence (ZoS), the ANC based on virtual sensing is explored. The simulations are done in MATLAB for the recorded ambulance siren noise signal. The results indicate that ANC can be an effective solution for creating a silent environment for the patient.

Opis:
In this paper, a novel Power-Frequency Droop Control (PFDC) is introduced to perfectly bring back the system frequency and share the reactive power in isolated microgrid with virtual power plant (VPP). The frequency-based power delivery must be essentially implemented in VPP which can operate as a conventional synchronous generator. It has been attained by enhancing the power processing unit of each VPP to operate as an active generator. The inverter coupling impedance which has been assigned by the virtual impedance technique has reduced the affected power coupling resulting from line resistance. The reference has been subsequently adjusted to compensate the frequency deviation caused by load variation and retrieve the VPP frequency to its nominal value. In addition, the line voltage drop has compensated the voltage drop and load sharing error to obliterate the reactive power sharing imprecision resulting from the voltage deviation. The voltage feedback confirms the correct voltage after compensating the voltage drop. As an illustration, conventional PFDC after a load change cannot restore the system frequency which is deviated from 50 Hz and rested in 49.9 Hz while, proposed PFDC strategy fades away the frequency deviation via compensating the variation of the frequency reference. Likewise, the frequency restoration factor ( γ) has an effective role in retrieving the system frequency, i.e., the restoration rate of the system frequency is in proportion with γ. As a whole, the simulation results have pointed to the high performance of proposed strategy in an isolated microgrid.

There are promising application prospects for applying the shore power technology to the ships in the port for the purpose of pollution prevention. However, the grid-connection of the shore power supply to the ship power grid leads to current surges, damages the ship power consumption equipment, and results in the instability of the ship power grid system, which will seriously affect the reliability of the operation of the ship power grid system. In order to address this problem, the mathematical model of virtual synchronous generator is introduced in this paper. Then, a control method for the flexible grid-connection of the shore power supply to the ship power grid based on the virtual synchronous generator is proposed. Next, the output characteristics of the shore power supply are optimized to match the characteristics of the ship generator, which contributes to the flexible grid-connection of the shore power supply to the ship power grid system. The effectiveness and the feasibility of this method are verified by simulation and experiments.

Designing of the conveyors and its control system with control program through the design tool “Virtual Commissioning” is very important in the digital era Industry 4.0. Virtual Commissioning was recently used to perform realistic virtual simulations in the early stages of development processes in automation of the conveyors too. The main benefit is the possibility of integrating and testing the control system through the simulation on the virtual model even before physically constructing the conveyor. The contribution focuses on the possibilities of transforming a real conveyor into a virtual model in the Siemens Tecnomatix Process Simulate program and integrating the Siemens S7-300 real control system to control the conveyor itself. In the model it was allowed to test and perform numerous variations and situations without physical intervention into the real conveyor and possible damage functional parts including through virtual reality. These experiments were subsequently evaluated and the control system optimized with respect to material flow and the developed PLC code on virtual model was verified on real conveyor control system.

Opis:
The motor function impairment deriving from stroke injury has a negative impact on autonomy and on the activities of daily living. Several studies have demonstrated that learning new motor skills is important to induce neuroplasticity and functional recovery. To facilitate the activation of brain areas and consequently neuroplasticity, it may be advantageous to combine traditional motor rehabilitation with innovative technology, in order to promote motor re-learning and skill re-acquisition by means of an enhanced training. Following these principles, exercises should involve multiple sensory modalities exploiting the adaptive nature of the nervous system, in order to promote active patient participation. Movement re-learning could be improved by means of training in an enriched environment focused on optimizing the affordances between the motor system and the physical environment: virtual reality technologies allow for the possibility to create specific settings where the affordances are optimized. Several autors report that patients treated in virtual representation could, in both acute and chronic stroke, improve their arm motor function. Reinforced Feedback in a Virtual Environment (RFVE), can incorporate the elements necessary to maximize motor learning, such as repetitive and differentiated task practice, feedback of performance and results, and reinforcement of the motivation. The RFVE approach may lead to better rehabilitation outcomes in the treatment of the upper limb in stroke patients.

Though the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) systems are wide use in modern vehicles, they are manufactured by a few companies and supplied to engine manufacturers. Automotives with factory made ECUs designed to maximize the performance while minimize cost. However, factory made ECUs (FECU) have closed software and hardware. The control gain, lookup tables, and constants used in the algorithms are also calibrated for a particular engine design. Unlike the carburettor, these systems cannot be opened and studied under different operating conditions to determine their characteristics and how they influence the performance of an engine. They can be used as black boxes and work only at specified modes as determined by their electronic control unit (ECU) and more over the algorithms and their implementation are maintained as trade secret by the developers. In the research work, it often becomes necessary to study parameters like injection duration, injection timing, sensor responses etc. to ascertain their effects. Thus in such cases the factory made ECU supplied with the injection system cannot be used. The required need is fulfilled by developing a customized electronic controller that would be suitable for studying the variations at engine operating points. The project involved the development of a research ECU (RECU) using reconfigurable field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) based embedded control system for a four-stroke port fuel injected gasoline engine. A calibrated fuel map is generated for various operating points of the engine using virtual instrumentation (VI) based software while simulating functions of sensors. From the mapping, the fuel injection time and fuel delivery quantity is estimated for the required running conditions of the engine. The developed Research Electronic Control Unit (RECU) could reveal gasoline engine performance in particular for research-based applications as it involves frequent programme development and control implementations.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to examine the influence of different types of virtual sceneries and frequencies of movement of visual disturbances on stabilometric values as well as whether individual sceneries and changing frequency can minimize effect of adaptation of tested person to applied disturbances. Methods: There were 23 healthy participants. A person has been standing on a Zebris stabilometric platform. Virtual 3D environment was displayed by means of HMD Oculus Rift system. An open (a meadow) and closed (a room) sceneries were used. The sceneries moved along the sagittal axis and rotated around horizontal axis. The measurement lasted 30 seconds and in the middle of it frequency of translational movement was changed from 0.7 Hz to 1.4 Hz or from 1.4 Hz to 0.7 Hz. Results: The data were reported as medians of COP velocity and ellipse area. Visual disturbances caused the increase of these values in comparison with the tests conducted with open eyes. Results divided into periods (the first and the second 15 seconds) showed that in the first half of the test values were higher compared to the second half. The comparison of values obtained for open and closed scenery showed that higher values were recorded for open scenery. Conclusions: The comparison of both types of sceneries on the basis of COP velocity and ellipse area showed that open scenery had a greater impact on the measured stabilometric values. It was found out as well that people got accustomed to the applied disturbances, but this effect was lower in the open scenery.

Opis:
Different from the synchronization mechanism of synchronous generators, the non-synchronous generators must be synchronized with the grid through a controller. Generally, the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategy is adopted for this purpose. In view of the current situation, where the control loops are not comprehensively considered in the research of the synchronization stability of the VSG, this paper considers multiple control loops, such as active frequency loops, virtual governors, power filters and current constraint control, to establish the mathematical model of the VSG and infinite system. On this basis, the correlation formula between power angle difference and control parameters is deduced. Adopting the phase plane method, the influence of different control loops and their parameters on the transient synchronization stability is analyzed. Finally, a setting principle of the frequency modulation coefficient of virtual governors is proposed, which not only meets the response speed of control systems, but also has good control performance.

Opis:
The tele-presence enable to separate, at any distance, a worker from workplace. This allows to perform work in a hazardous area without endangering human life or health due to exposure associated with, for example, high concentrations of harmful chemicals. In addition, the separation of the decision-making man from the effector performing the work, makes the scope of the work carried out by the robot independent of the human’s physical capabilities, in particular the lifting capacity is in no way limited by the physical capabilities of the person controlling the robot’s work. This is a special advantage for older people and/or people with disabilities.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości zastosowania zintegrowanego środowiska programistycznego MATLAB&Simulink do komputerowej symulacji wybranych układów sterowania. MATLAB (MATrix LABoratory) to program komputerowy będący interaktywnym środowiskiem do wykonywania obliczeń naukowych i inżynierskich, służącym do tworzenia symulacji komputerowych, zaś Simulink to część pakietu numerycznego MATLAB dający możliwość symulacji komputerowych modeli przy pomocy interfejsu graficznego oraz tzw. bloków. W artykule podano przykłady symulacji rozwiązań równań różniczkowych zwyczajnych, wyznaczania różnych typów charakterystyk częstotliwościowych; badania stabilności układów na podstawie kryterium Hurwitza i Nyquista; badania stabilności, sterowalności i obserwowalności układów wielowymiarowych; wyznaczania portretu fazowego oraz regulacji dwupołożeniowej.
The paper presents the possibilities of using the integrated environment of MATLAB&Simulink for computer simulation of selected control systems. MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. A proprietary programming language developed by Math-Works, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages. Simulink, also developed by MathWorks, is a graphical programming environment for modeling, simulating and analyzing dynamic systems. It offers tight integration with the rest of the MATLAB environment and can either drive MATLAB or be scripted from it. The paper shows examples of solutions of ordinary differential equations, determination of different types of frequency characteristics, system stability tests based on the Hurwitz and Nyquist criteria, stability testing, controllability and observability of multidimensional systems, creation of phase-portrait and study of two-position control.

However, such universal code must be processed by an interpreter, another words by a virtual machine,an interpreter, another words by- a virtual machine, must process such universal code similarly as programs written in Java. The CPDev environment consists of the compiler, simulator and configurer of hardware resources (i.e. communications). They are developed in C# at MS.NET Framework 2.0 platform. CPDev is open allowing the user to create function blocks and libraries. External interface procedures (drivers) can be written by hardware designers and linked with the universal code. Free selection of data types required by different applications is provided. Virtual machine written in ANSI C is dedicated for a particular processor. So far the machines for AVR, MCS-51 and PC have been developed. Programming a mini-DCS system from LUMEL Zielona Góra has been the first application of CPDev.

Opis:
In this article, model reference adaptive system (MRAS)-based estimator of a rotor resistance of an induction motor (IM) is presented. In contrast to the solutions known from the literature, the reference model of this estimator uses the measured values of the phase current and the adaptive part is a virtual current sensor. The article presents an accurate description of the algorithm taking into account the discrete equations for possible practical implementation in the microprocessor system. In the first step, the impact of motor parameters to stator current estimation quality in the adaptive model was checked. Subsequently, simulation tests of the proposed rotor resistance estimator were carried out for the field-oriented control of the induction motor drive system with a model of an induction motor with fixed parameters and an induction motor with a changing main inductance according to a magnetisation curve. The analysis of the estimator’s work showed its high efficiency and insensitivity to changes in the IM main inductance.
