    Opis:
    Using the example of washing machines using the linear theory of vibrations, the dynamics of horizontal rotary drum machines is investigated and the basic requirements for their layout are formulated to reduce vibration activity. The mathematical equations of vibrations of the multiply connected system tub-drum on elastic suspensions are compiled for main types of washing machines and centrifuges with horizontal axis of rotation. The problem is solved in a linear setting based on the Lagrange equation of the second kind. The accuracy and adequacy of the mathematical model was tested directly on a full-scale object by measuring noise, vibrations, support forces and stress distribution in individual elements and units of the washing machine in the entire range of drum rotation frequencies. Investigations of the nature of system vibrations depending on changes in the position and attachment points of elastic and damping elements were carried out using simulation in the Simulink environment. As a result of the research, the basic requirements for the layout of horizontal rotary drum machines were experimentally confirmed. Experimental verification was carried out to confirm the results obtained. It has been experimentally proven that the improvement of the experimental setup to reduce its vibration activity increases the efficiency of using direct-acting liquid autobalancers.

    Opis:
    The objective of the study was the preliminary recognition of whole body mechanical vibration risk among farmers in the rural work environment. The study covered 15 farms using cultivated land of the size of over 10 ha, carrying out mixed production (plant-animal), equipped with agricultural tractors, and a basic set of tractor-mounted agricultural machinery, with a partial contribution of self-propelled agricultural machines. The scope of the study covered the measurements of effective vibration RMS acceleration (equivalent, maximum, minimum, peak) frequency corrected on the seats of agricultural vehicles in the three spatial directions of vibration (X, Y, Z). These measurements were realized while performing various fi eld and transport work activities during the period of the whole year. A analysis of the peak, maximum and minimum vibration accelerations confi rms that in the agricultural occupational environment there occurs a considerable variation of the vibration values registered. This is also evidenced by high values of the Crest Factor, sometimes exceeding a score of 10. Analysis of the registered equivalent values of vibration acceleration (frequency corrected) from the hygienic aspect showed that vibration occurring on the seats may create risk for farmers’ health while performing such work activities as: tedding and raking of hay, fertilizers spreading, soil aggregation, grass mowing and cultivation. Analysis of the spatial distribution of the measured, frequency corrected vibration accelerations indicates that considerably the highest acceleration values occur in the vertical plane (direction – Z). Literature data clearly confi rm an unfavourable effect of whole body vibration present in agricultural vehicles on discomfort and the occurrence of back pain in the operators, especially in the low back region (lumbar spine), as well as degenerative changes in the spine.

    Opis:
    Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an important risk factor for premature death amongst the Polish population. In 2014, CVD accounted for 45.1% of all deaths. According to a World Health Organization expert analysis published in 2004, around 80% of cases of CVD, stroke and type 2 diabetes mellitus are preventable if the most important risk factors can be addressed. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) defines a constellation of risk factors, including obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension, associated with the development of CVD. National cross-sectional research on the health of Poles indicates that over 90% of men and 89% of women have at least one risk factor. It is estimated that in the coming years the number of obese people will increase and the incidence of diabetes and arterial hypertension will increase. This paper presents the most important and effective methods for the treatment of MetS, which include a well-balanced diet, physical activity, vibrotherapy, and pharmacotherapy. Effective action taken early on can reduce not only mortality risk, but also decrease prevalence and disability and improve the quality of life of Polish citizens.
    Choroby sercowo-naczyniowe (ChSN) są identyfikowane jako ważny czynnik ryzyka przedwczesnych zgonów wśród ludności Polski. W 2014 r. odsetek zgonów z powodu ChSN wyniósł 45,1%. Z analiz ekspertów Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia (WHO) opublikowanych w 2004 r. wynika, że ok. 80% przypadków ChSN, udarów mózgu oraz cukrzycy typu 2 można uniknąć, o ile uda się wyeliminować najważniejsze czynniki ryzyka. Zespół metaboliczny (ZM) określa grupę czynników ryzyka związanych z rozwojem ChSN, w skład której wchodzą: otyłość, insulinooporność, dyslipidemie i nadciśnienie tętnicze. Ogólnopolskie przekrojowe badania zdrowia Polaków wskazują, że ponad 90% mężczyzn i 89% kobiet ma co najmniej jeden czynnik ryzyka. Szacuje się, że w najbliższych latach nastąpi wzrost liczby osób otyłych, zwiększy się częstotliwość występowania cukrzycy oraz nadciśnienia tętniczego. W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono najważniejsze i najskuteczniejsze metody leczenia ZM, do których zaliczono: odpowiednio zbilansowaną dietę, aktywność fizyczną, wibroterapię oraz farmakoterapię. Efektywne działania podejmowane odpowiednio wcześnie pozwolą zmniejszyć nie tylko umieralność, ale także ograniczyć chorobowość i niepełnosprawność oraz poprawić jakość życia polskiego społeczeństwa.
