Opis:
The most common chemical’s spills in typical transportation accidents are those with petroleum products such as diesel fuel, the consequence of which is an extensive pollution of the soil. In order to plan properly fuel recovery from the soil, it is important to gain information about the soil depth which may be affected by pollutant and to predict the pollutant concentration in different soil layers. This study deals with the impact of basic atmospheric conditions, i.e. air temperature and humidity on the diesel fuel migration through the soil. The diesel fuel was spilled into columns (L = 30 cm; D = 4.6 cm) filled with sandy and clay soil samples, and its concentrations at various depths were measured after 11 days under various air temperature (20 and 40°C) and relative humidity (30–100%) conditions. The effects observed were explained by understanding physical processes, such as fuel evaporation, diffusion and adsorption on soil grains. The increase in temperature results in higher fuel evaporation loss and its faster vertical migration. The relative humidity effect is less pronounced but more complex, and it depends much on the soil type.

Opis:
A new instrument, an Autonomous Hydroacoustic System, was designed to probe a water column acoustically from the bottom to the sea surface. It is capable of operating from a depth of 100 m self sufficiently for up to 10 days. A brief description of its construction and electronic design is provided. Preliminary results from the first field study consisting of a 90-hour series of backscattering measurements are presented.

Opis:
Acoustic measurements were conducted at different seasons in the last five years at a fixed point of the Baltic Sea at a frequency 30 kHzcon currently with temperature and salinity sampling. Echosounding records were used to determine the seasonal and diurnal migration patterns of scattering layers in accordance with thermohaline conditions. Different seasonal patterns of nocturnal aggregations of organisms dependent on the temperature gradient in the thermocline were found. This paper illustrates the diurnal distributions of sound scattering layers and analyses the way they are linked to the physical structure of the water.

Opis:
In the Radlin Rotliegend gas field (southwestern Polish Lowlands, Fore-Sudetic Region, Poznań Depression), modelling and reinterpretation of seismic data combined with surface gas surveys (free gas method) help identify "gas chimneys" and locate pathways of vertical migration. An almost impermeable Zechstein evaporite cover reduces the stream of vertical gas migration so that a dry surface geochemical zone occurs at the surface and no seismic disturbances are observed directly above the pay zone of the gas field. The surface gas anomalies form a halo-type pattern surrounding the gas field. The majority of surface hydrocarbon microseepages from the subsurface agrees with the seismically visualised geological structure. The belts of surface gas anomalies and the dry zones separating them run along the strike of Permian structures and faults. Vertical pathways of gas migration are recognisable as zones of seismic discontinuity and chaotic distribution of distinct reflections and diffracted waves. Seismic "gas chimney" effects coincide with surface hydrocarbon gas anomalies. Particularly, they appear above the upper terminations of faults disturbing the Zechstein deposits. The faults create the main a venues for secondary vertical migration of gas from the reservoir to the surface. "Gas chimneys" are observable in a shallow zone above the Muschelkalk (Tm) where higher gas saturation of more porous rocks produces a seismically traceable velocity effect.

Opis:
Labour migration is discussed here in the context of the transformation of the Russian labour market. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of changes in the labour market and to the way these changes affect the structure of employment for migrant workers, their inclusion in local labour markets, and the prevalence of illegal and informal employment. Of central importance is the analysis of migrants’ vertical occupational mobility. It is concluded that the education, qualifications, and professional knowledge of migrants are not in demand in the Russian labour market; the typical path of migrants in the labour market is downward labour mobility – occupying a position that is worse than the one they previously held in their home country. Upward labour mobility is extremely rare and characteristic almost exclusively of unskilled workers.

vertical banded gastroplasty
Opis:
Vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG) is a remote bariatric restrictive procedure, more common in 1980s and initial 1990s. Many patients still possess this anatomy with its inherent complications. The reoperation rate for failure/complications reported in long-term studies is approximately 56 %, sometimes the surgical revision is technical complex and invasiveness. Sleeve gastrectomy (SG) has been at first used to revise failed restrictive procedures. This study takes in vision a patient which was operated of VBG 15 years ago. This patient underwent a Roux-n-Y Gastric Bypass because of total intra luminal mesh migration. In this case the mesh migration caused a gastric lumen stenosis, it was necessary a complex revision surgical operation to remove the tight ring.
