Opis:: The article departs from Smith's (1997) claim that verb constellations constituted by a countable nominal, a verb of motion and a directional PP are ACCOMPLISHMENT constellations in line with 'The child built a house' or 'He wrote a novel'. A series of morphological and syntactic tests are applied to perfective and imperfective ACCOMPLISHMENTS of directed motion in Polish and Danish (biec / at løbe, iść / at gå, lecieć / at flyve og jechać / at køre + directional adverbials). This illustrates that the verb constellations of interest do not always show the features of canonical ACCOMPLISHMENTS that do not refer to motion as such.

Opis:: Le but de cet article est de présenter les résultats de l’application de l’approche orientée objets de Wiesław Banyś dans la désambiguïsation de l’opposition intra-aspectuelle du type itérativité vs sémelfactivité. Après une courte introduction théorique à la question de l’itérativité des verbes de mouvement, l’auteur procède à l’étude des exemples concrets de quelques emplois du verbe aller et construit par la suite six schémas syntaxico-sémantiques déterminant la traduction polonaise du verbe analysé à l’aide de la forme itérative (jeździć) ou bien sémelfactive (jechać). Le format de description de l’itérativité employé dans cet article permet d’intégrer les résultats de la recherche dans les programmes de traduction automatique.
The aim of this paper is to present the results of the application of the object-oriented approach by Wiesław Banyś in the disambiguation of the intra-aspectual opposition iterative vs semelfactive. After a brief theoretical introduction to the question of the motion verbs’ iterativity, the author proceeds to study concrete examples of some uses of the French verb aller and creates six syntactic-semantic schemes conditioning the Polish translation of the analysed verb by the iterative (jeździć) or semelfactive form (jechać). The format of the description of the iterativity used in this paper allows to integrate the results of the research into the Machine Translation programs.

Opis:: This article refers to comparative studies. It highlights the problems associated with using basic verbs of motion in describing a real situation. This includes iść and chodzić in Polish and 가다 [gada] in Korean. The most common types of sentence used (S[trajectory]V and S[purpose]V) have been identified based upon surveys carried out amongst Polish and Korean language students from various universities in June/July 2015. The conclusions indicate that a more systematic approach can be made for the Polish and Korean verbs of motion and this results in an improved methodology for teaching both languages. Attention is also drawn to the temporal deixis (adverbs) in sentences with the Polish verbs iść/chodzić, as well as to the lack of perlative and locative relations in describing trajectory in sentences with the Korean verb 가다 [gada]. Moreover, the most common lexemes used by Polish and Korean respondents are pointed out which show several differences between the two languages.

Opis:: The article investigates the status of “reflexivity” in linguistics. The category of reflexivity is at the core of the categories of voice in the broad sense. The article deals with different approaches to identifying the reflexive decausative in modern linguistics. The paper describes the dimensions of the reflexive decausative, which includes verbs of mental activities; motion and movement; disappearance and loss; place and movement; body, and natural phenomena. The paper is devoted to the semantic aspect of the reflexive decausative in the Polish and Ukrainian languages. The results of this comparison with examples from modern Polish and Ukrainian literature are presented in the article.
