Opis:
Based upon the example of geometrical optics and  geometrical optics of electrons, as well as the theory of the electric field and the theory of the flow of the perfect liquid in two dimensions, the analogy of the laws of physics have been discussed. In the awareness of physicists, the analogy is a syntactical identity, of the physically interpreted mathematical formulas, describing the laws of physics. In the paper, it has been presented some relevant laws of the two pairs of the theories being compared. For the three cases, it has been provided the appropriate photographs presenting the results of the empirical tests of some of the relevant laws.

Opis:
This study is concerned with liquid flow induced by a disk which rotates steadily around its axis and touches the free surface of liquid contained in a cylindrical vessel. It is a simplified model of the flow in the inlet part of a vertical cooling crystallizer where a rotary distributor of inflowing solution is situated above the free surface of solution contained in the crystalliser. Numerical simulations of flow phenomena were conducted and the simulation results were interpreted assuming an analogy with Kármán’s theoretical equations. In a cylindrical coordinate system, the components of flow velocity were identified as functions of distance from the surface of the rotating disk. The experimental setup was developed to measure velocity fields, using digital particle velocimetry and optical flow. Conclusions concerning the influence of disc rotation on liquid velocity fields were presented and the experimental results were found to confirm the results of numerical simulation. On the basis of simulation data, an approximation function was determined to describe the relationship between the circumferential component of flow velocity and the distance from the disk.

Dynamic characteristics for three types of railgun constructions were simulated and measured in this work. The simplest construction is the iron-less (IL) railgun, while the two other ones (IC and ICPM) have an iron-core. The iron-core permanent magnet (ICPM) railgun additionally has permanent magnets. To compare their characteristics, similar dimensions of the rails and iron cores were adopted, and the same power supply system was used. Numerical magnetic field analyses and our analytical models have been used to determine the electromagnetic parameters. They were verified experimentally. The transient states of the railguns were studied with our field-circuit mathematical model, and their results were also verified by experiments.

Opis:
The aim of this research is to use a simple acoustic method of a very near field recording, which enables measurement and display of oscillation modes, to estimate the velocity of flexural waves, based on the wavelengths of standing waves measured on the sample. The paper analyses cases of 1D geometry, flexural waves that occur on a beam excited by an impulse. Measurements were conducted on two different samples: steel and a wooden beam of the same length. Due to the appearance of evanescent waves at the boundary regions, the distance between the nodes of standing waves that occur deviates from half the wavelength, which can be compensated using a correction factor. Cases of fixed and free boundary conditions were analysed. By quantifying how much the boundary conditions change the mode shape function, it can be predicted how the mode of oscillation changes if the boundary conditions change, which can also find application in musical acoustics and sound radiation analysis.

For the stability of composite fibre spinning, the difference in and distribution of the polymer melt velocity during the spinning are among the factors of importance. Based on the basic equation for the control of composite spinning dynamics, boundary conditions are identified and reported in this paper. A mathematical model for the symmetric and asymmetric distribution of the melt flow velocity in the microhole of the spinneret of the composite spinning assembly was developed. The accuracy of the mathematical model was also ascertained. It gives a theoretical basis for the designing of a composite spinning assembly.

Opis:
The present work presents a theoretical investigation of an MHD mixed convection flow in a vertical microchannel formed by two electrically non-conducting infinite vertical parallel plates. The influence of an induced magnetic field arising due to motion of an electrically conducting fluid is taken into consideration. The governing equations of the motion are a set of simultaneous ordinary differential equations and their exact solutions in dimensionless form have been obtained for the velocity field, the induced magnetic field and the temperature field. The expressions for the induced current density and skin friction have also been obtained. The effects of various non-dimensional parameters such as rarefaction, fluid wall interaction, the Hartmann number and the magnetic Prandtl number on the velocity, the induced magnetic field, the temperature, the induced current density, and skin friction have been presented in a graphical form. It is found that the effect of the Hartmann number and magnetic Prandtl number on the induced current density is found to have a decreasing nature at the central region of the microchannel.

Opis:
This paper focuses on the theoretical analysis of blood flow in the presence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction under the influence of time dependent magnetic field intensity. Unsteady non linear partial differential equations of blood flow consider time dependent stretching velocity, the energy equation also accounts time dependent temperature of vessel wall and the concentration equation includes the time dependent blood concentration. The governing non linear partial differential equations of motion, energy and concentration are converted into ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations solved numerically by applying ode45. The effect of physical parameters, viz., the permeability parameter, unsteadiness parameter, Prandtl number, Hartmann number, thermal radiation parameter, chemical reaction parameter and Schmidt number on flow variables, viz., velocity of blood flow in vessel, temperature and concentration of blood, has been analyzed and discussed graphically. From the simulation study the following important results are obtained: velocity of blood flow increases with the increment of both permeability and unsteadiness parameter. The temperature of blood increases at the vessel wall as the Prandtl number and Hartmann number increase. Concentration of blood decreases as time dependent chemical reaction parameter and Schmidt number increases.

Opis:
Partially cut 7-perforated propellants are used in gun charges because of their good flame spreading, high progressivity and loading density. To investigate the complex flow field in a partially cut multi-perforation stick propellant, a steady three-dimensional model for compressible viscid internal perforation and the vent gas region flow field was established and simulated by ANSYS Fluent. The results illustrate that the cut vent can decrease the internal perforation pressure and end face gas velocity. Moreover, the mass that escaped through the vent to the outside was 85.3% of the whole internal burning propellant gas. When the width of the cut slot was larger than half the diameter, the internal pressure decreased weakly and the progressive intensity decreased slightly as the cut slot was increased. As the same side intervals were increased or the perforation diameters were decreased, the end face gas velocity and the internal and external perforation pressure differences increased, and the propellant combustion area progressive intensity increased. As the web thickness increased, the internal pressure increased, and gas velocity exhibited an upward tendency and reached peak values when 2e1 = 0.84 mm, whilst the progressive intensity increased slightly.

The estimation of regular velocity fields irregular distributed GPS stations corresponds to the problem of scattered data approximation with free from surfaces. The method of Multilevel B-spline Approximation is a powerful tool to solve this problem. The iterative evaluation of approximation surfaces leads to a best fit approximation of the station velocities. The algorithm for the Multilevel B-spline Approximation has to be extended by the methods of error propagation to evaluate statistically the quality of the interpolated velocity field. Multilevel B-spline Approximation is applied to generate a velocity field based on roughly 50 GPS stations in Romania. The investigation area includes several CEGRN stations, campaign stations in the framework of the COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH CENTER 461 "STRONG EARTHQUAKES" and a few permanent GPS stations. The application of the law of error propagation provides an opportunity to analyse the accuracy of the velocity field.

The work covers the adequate kinetics of the flexibly fixed working element of a rotating device. First the literature background of the problem has been presented, turning the attention on such systems where the phenomenon of centrifugal displacement of a body due to the rotating of the system occurs. Then the general characteristics of the complex motion of working element has been described. The core of the work is the description of the variable component motions, with the starting point of the description being the source differential equation, presenting this type of dependence of the path length on time. The accelerated angular motion and retarded radial motion have been separated, describing these component motions as the function of time. Based on these detailed descriptions, the trajectory equation of working element, the derivatives and further kinetic magnitudes, have been derived. In the conclusion, the cognitive and practical qualities of the presented solutions of the title problem, have been accented.

The article presents an initial assessment of the new regulatory system of a spray dose adjustment system for field sprayers. In contrast to traditional sprayers, the proposed solution incorporates triple interlocked with diversified liquid expense nozzles controlled based on the dose adjustment process utilizing the forward and angular velocities of the machine. The adjustment system was tested using data gathered from monitoring the movement of a sprayer performing chemical plant preservation. The results prove that the system enables a substantial improvement in the surface distribution of the spray dose. Compared to the aforementioned traditional sprayer, where only 57.2% of measuring points have shown the spray dose being within 80-120% of nominal range, using the proposed solution the proper dose constituted 93.6% of all results.

Opis:
Maximum Torque Control (MTC) is a new method applied for control of induction motor drives. The drive is controlled by dc voltage supplying a converter in the range below nominal speed and by a field that weakens for a speed range above the nominal speed. As a consequence, the control is quite similar to the control of a classical separately excited dc motor. This control method could be explained as a kind of simplification of Direct Torque Control (DTC), because the switching scheme is the same as for the DTC, but the variable responsible for a torque control is constantly set for “torque increase”. This kind of control of induction motor drive is simpler than DTC because torque values need not be estimated. The proposed control method offers very good performance for 3-phase induction motors and requires smaller switching frequency in comparison to DTC and Field Oriented Control (FOC). The application of the control is widely demonstrated for a 3-phase 315 kW, 6 kV motor drive by use of computer simulation.
