Opis:
In different this paper we present the performance evaluation study of a simple broadcast data dissemination technique in new emerging Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs). Differently from the traditional Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs), VANETs require particular routing protocols, due to the high dynamism of the network topology, and to different traffic and mobility patterns. For safety and emergency message applications, broadcast data dissemination is an important key factor in VANETs. However, the design of optimal deployment of relay nodes in different network scenarios allows to enhance system performance. At this aim, this work analyzes vehicular network performances in terms of throughput and delays, for different traffic scenarios, exploiting both inter-vehicular communications, as well as the availability of fixed network infrastructure.

Opis:
Routing in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) has found significant attention because of its unique features such as lack of energy constraints and high-speed vehicles applications. Besides, since these networks are highly dynamic, design process of routing algorithms suitable for an urban environment is extremely challenging. Appropriate algorithms could be opportunistic routing (OR) where traffic transmission is performed using the store-carry-forward mechanism. An efficient OR mechanism, called Location and Direction Aware Opportunistic Routing (LDAOR), is proposed in this paper. It is based on the best neighbor node selection by using vehicles positions, vehicles directions, and prioritization of messages from buffers, based on contact histories and positions of neighbor nodes to destination. In LDAOR, when multiple nodes make contact with a carrier node, the closest neighbor node to destination is selected as the best forwarder. However, when only one node makes contact with the carrier node, the message is delivered to it if it moves toward the destination. Using the ONE simulator, the obtained performance evaluation results show that the LDAOR operates better than conventional OR algorithms. The LDAOR not only increases delivery rate, but also reduces network overhead, traffic loss, and number of aborted messages.

In recent years, Vehicles are becomes the more intellectual system which is operated with the help of radio communications. Thus the vehicles are formed the network for communications based on the mobile Ad- hoc network (MANET) which is called as Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET). However security in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) should become great challenges, due to communication development, because of dynamically changing protocols, high mobility of vehicles and also high partitioned network. In this paper we address the security requirements of vehicles and needed mechanisms to avoid the threats and attacks in VANET.

Opis:
Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) constitute a promising technology for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). VANET are highly dynamic in their nature because of the movements of vehicles, which are acting as nodes. The routing protocol must be designed for dealing with multiple limiting conditions, like link failures, handoffs, and long congestion periods, which is very challenging. The survey of different routing protocols in VANET provides a significant information for building smart ITS. Accordingly, the present survey is devoted to the existing distinct multipath routing protocols. This review article provides a detailed account on 50 research papers, presenting the different kinds of multipath routing protocols, namely proactive routing protocols, ad-hoc-based routing protocols, Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR), hybrid routing protocols, as well as geographic routing protocols. Besides the classification and cursory description, the present study addresses also several of the important parameters, like evaluation metrics, implementation tool, publication year, datasets utilized, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), and packet end-to-end delay with respect to various techniques considered. Eventually, the research gaps and issues of various multipath routing protocols are presented with the intention of pointing out directions for future research.

Opis:
The Internet of Vehicles (IoVs) has become a vital research area in order to enhance passenger and road safety, increasing traffic efficiency and enhanced reliable connectivity. In this regard, for monitoring and controlling the communication between IoVs, routing protocols are deployed. Frequent changes that occur in the topology often leads to major challenges in IoVs, such as dynamic topology changes, shortest routing paths and also scalability. One of the best solutions for such challenges is “clustering”. This study focuses on IoVs’ stability and to create an efficient routing protocol in dynamic environment. In this context, we proposed a novel algorithm called Cluster-based enhanced AODV for IoVs (AODV-CD) to achieve stable and efficient clustering for simplifying routing and ensuring quality of service (QoS). Our proposed protocol enhances the overall network throughput and delivery ratio, with less routing load and less delay compared to AODV. Thus, extensive simulations are carried out in SUMO and NS2 for evaluating the efficiency of the AODV-CD that is superior to the classic AODV and other recent modified AODV algorithms.
