W artykule przedstawiono informacje o jedynym w Polsce załogowym pojeździe podwodnym typu mokrego o nazwie "Błotniak". Pojazd został opracowany w latach 70- tych XX w. w Akademii Marynarki Wojennej. Do dziś dane na temat jego konstrukcji były niejawne. W artykule przedstawiono rys historyczny tego typu pojazdów, gdzie szczególną uwagę zwrócono na ich zastosowanie w czasie I I II wojny światowej. Ponadto przedstawiono wymagania taktyczno-techniczne I opisano na podstawie literatury I rozmów z konstruktorami prac projektu. Zamieszczono także informacje na temat rekonstrukcji pojazdu, która została zrealizowana przez Stowarzyszenie Grupa Akwonautów militarnych "Błotniak" z Gdyni.
In the article presented the information on only in Poland the manned underwater vehicle of the wet type about the name "Błotniak". The vehicle was worked out in years 70- this XX in. in Naval University In Gdynia. To today data on the subject his construction was secret. In the article presented the historic outline of this type of vehicles, the were special attention was returned on their use during I and II of the world war. Besides presented requirements tactical- technical and one described on the ground literatures and conversation with constructors of the vehicle which was realized by the Military Aquanaut Group Association "Błotniak" from Gdynia.

The overall objective of the IDEAS project is to develop advanced packaging for power supply components and new generation memory systems applicable to Electric and ICE propelled vehicles, with paying attention to considering also the aspects that have not been addressed yet in the running ENIAC and ARTEMIS Automotive projects. A major challenge related to electronic devices in the automotive applications is the reliability of power supply systems which must be capable to assure the functionality of subsystems in all operating conditions, inclusive of ageing. The control systems, which rely on multicore microcontrollers and complex software architectures, require increasingly stringent constraints from the memory devices which need to be designed for very high bandwidth, speed and reliability. In the following thesis, a few aspects of the IDEAS project will be presented: a review of important factors that affect the reliability and life-cycle endurance of NAND flash memories, multispeed gear application in electric drives and its influence on the energy efficiency. The problem of electromagnetic compatibility of electronic devices will also be dealt with in the paper

3D urban building models play an important role in the association, convergence and integration of economic and social urban data. 3D building reconstruction can be done from both the lidar and image-based point clouds, however, the lidar point clouds has dominated the research giving the 3D buildings reconstruction from aerial images point clouds less attention. The UAV images can be acquired at low cost, the workflow can be automated with minimal technical knowhow limitation. This promotes the necessity to understand and question to what extent the 3D buildings from UAV point clouds are complete and correct from data processing to parameter settings. This study focuses on proposing a process for building 3D geospatial data for a smart city using geospatial data collected by UAV and Terrestrial Laser Scanner. The experimental results have produced 3D geospatial data of high building in LoD3, with the root mean square error of the received test points mΔx=3.8 cm, mΔy=3.1 cm, and mΔH=7.5 cm.

Extremely intensive development of technology has resulted in many innovations. There are new methods of acquiring spatial data, such as laser scanning, unmanned aerial vehicles or digital non-metric cameras, which are the subject of this study. Integration of this data has become a new tool that has expanded existing measurement capabilities, finding applications in 3D modelling, archaeology and monument conservation. Owing to scanning, we can get the coordinates of almost every point of the scanned surface, obtaining full and detailed information about the object dimensions. The level of technical advancement of digital cameras allows them to be successfully used in short-range photogrammetry [27], and recently also in low-altitude aerial photogrammetry (unmanned aerial vehicles). Two different test objects were selected to achieve the intended purpose. The monument located on the 14-meter-high top of the Wanda Mound was adopted as the first object. It consists of a simple rectangular plinth made of brown marble. On its top there is a figure of an eagle with a crown of white marble. On the west wall of the plinth there is an inscription “Wanda” and a drawing showing a sword crossed with a distaff. The following features supported the choice of the monument: interesting shape of the object, which includes both simple geometric forms with large and flat surfaces (plinth), and more detailed surfaces (figure of an eagle); detailed texture of the object (complicated marble veins, wing details). The second object under study was The Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre. The building was rebuilt in the style of Viennese Art Nouveau, so that it fully incorporates into the rest of buildings. Measurements included data obtained from a non-metric camera, Leica ScanStation scanner and DJI S 1000 multi-rotor.
Niezwykle intensywny rozwój technologii od początku obecnego stulecia, zaowocował wieloma innowacjami, również w dziedzinie geodezji i kartografii, a w szczególności w zakresie fotogrametrii i teledetekcji. Oprócz ewolucji znanych już form pomiarów jak przejście ze zobrazowań analogowych na cyfrowe, pojawiły się też nowe metody pozyskiwania danych przestrzennych jak skaning laserowy, bezzałogowe statki powietrzne czy cyfrowe kamery niemetryczne, będące przedmiotem niniejszego opracowania. Integracja tych danych stała się nowym narzędziem, które rozszerzyło dotychczasowe możliwości pomiarowe, jak również znalazło zastosowanie poza branżą geodezyjną, na przykład w modelowaniu 3D, archeologii czy konserwacji zabytków. Dzięki skaningowi otrzymujemy współrzędne niemal każdego punktu skanowanej powierzchni w dowolnym miejscu, nawet już po zakończeniu pomiaru i opuszczeniu obiektu. Otrzymujemy zatem pełną i szczegółową informację o wymiarach obiektu, o znajdującej się wewnątrz infrastrukturze niekiedy trudno dostępnej bądź skomplikowanej. Poziom zaawansowania technicznego aparatów cyfrowych pozwala już od kilkunastu lat na stosowanie ich z powodzeniem w fotogrametrii bliskiego zasięgu [27], a od niedawna także i w fotogrametrii lotniczej niskiego pułapu (bezzałogowe statki powietrzne). Bezzałogowe statki powietrzne okazują się świetnym narzędziem wspomagającym proces zbierania danych o wysokorozdzielczych metrycznych zdjęciach elewacji budynków. Do zrealizowania zamierzonego celu wybrano 2 różne obiekty testowe.

Contemporary research activities in the area of transportation systems usually utilize computer vision techniques. These activities are mostly oriented to the analysis of traffic flow. Key parts of the analysis consist of detection, extraction, modelling and recognition of objects in the traffic flow. Additional information can be obtained by the object tracking, too. The main aim of this contribution is to propose a new method for modelling 3D objects that are moving in the traffic flow. At the beginning of this paper, basic methods of object detection and extraction are shortly described. Moreover, the modified algorithm based on the object extraction and 3D models creation by mesh is also proposed. That mesh model is generated from a depth map. Finally, the results of proposed method are presented in the last part of this paper.

W artykule przybliżono powstanie konceptu pojazdów księżycowych, przebieg badań nad ich konstruowaniem w latach 60. XX wieku oraz rezultat tych prac w postaci stworzenia Lunar Roving Vehicle, który został użyty w trzech ostatnich misjach Programu Apollo. Opisano proces budowy oraz konstrukcję LRV, a także jego znaczący wpływ na przebieg misji w których został użyty.
This article presents a history of Lunar Roving Vehicle which has been used in three final missions of Apollo Program. Article describes the beginning of lunar vehicle concepts in the early 1960s starting from Project Horizon and continued in further NASA projects and individual work of American companies, like e.g. Boeing Corporation or Benidx Corporation. It also describes methods of designing first lunar vehicle prototypes for space programs like e.g. Lunar Logistics Systems, Mobility Laboratory and Mobility Test Articles. In addition there is discussed process of defining requirements which will become a Lunar Roving Vehicle. The article also describes a designing process and problems that Rover met during creation. It contains a description of LRV various systems like mobility, electrical power supply and navigation subsytems. In the end of the paper there is a short summary of impact that LRV made for final Apollo missions in terms of travelled distance and amount of collected lunar samples. The article has been illustrated with various drawings and photos of early lunar vehicle concepts and LRV itself.

In the recent times, lot of research work carried out in the field of fuel cells explicitly divulges that it has the potential to be an ultimate power source in upcoming years. The fuel cell has more storing capacity, which enables to use in heavy power applications. In these applications, power conditioning is more vital to regulate the output voltage. Hence, we need a dc-dc converter to provide a constant regulated output voltage for such high-power system. Currently, many new converters were designed and implemented as per the requirement. This paper has made comparative study on several topologies of the quadratic high gain dc-dc converter and the applications where these topologies can be used when the fuel cell is given as a source. Also, we have compared various parameters of all the converters considered and generated the results with steady-state and dynamic study. In this article, we briefed the types of analysis carried on the dc-dc converter to study its performance. Moreover, various application of fuel cell is presented and discussed. This paper will be a handbook to the researchers who start to work on high gain dc-dc converter topologies with quadratic boost converter as a base. This article will also guide the engineers to concentrate on the fuel cell components where it needs to be explored for optimizing its operation.

In this fast-changing environmental condition, the effect of fossil fuel in vehicle is a significant concern. Many sustainable sources are being studied to replace the exhausting fossil fuel in most of the countries. This paper surveys the types of electric vehicle’s energy sources and current scenario of the on-road electric vehicle and its technical challenges. It summarizes the number of state-of-the-art research progresses in bidirectional dc-dc converters and its control strategies reported in last two decades. The performance of the various topologies of bidirectional dc-dc converters is also tabulated along with their references. Hence, this work will present a clear view on the development of state-of-the-art topologies in bidirectional dc-dc converters. This review paper will be a guide for the researchers for selecting suitable bidirectional traction dc-dc converters for electric vehicle and it gives the clear picture of this research field.

The possibility of vertical take-off of an aircraft is a valuable feature in air transport. It allows to increase operational characteristics of an air vehicle and requires less field and low cost ground infrastructure. Currently the vertical take-off feature is practically reserved to helicopters and tilt-rotor aircrafts. Both types of air vehicles have their advantages and also have some important limitations. Regarding the helicopters their construction provides natural vertical take-off features and makes them useful in low altitude flight tasks. However the power required for flight and main rotor kinematics results in low cruising speed and short range performance. The tilt-rotor aircraft is an answer which provides good cruise characteristics saving the vertical take-off feature. The construction of tiltrotor aircraft consists of rotors with adjustable position of tip-path plane. The main technical problem of tilt-rotors is necessity of change aerodynamic configuration from vertical mode to cruise mode at low flight altitude and very low flight speed. A proposed conception of a vertical take-off air vehicle using self-aligning moving wings is focused on producing aerodynamic force always on wings without participation of rotors or propellers. The self-aligning or semirotating wing movement enables to produce aerodynamic force in each flight speed. During take-off lift force is generated by means of power unit driving the wings. The transition from hovering to progressive flight is a smooth phase without aerodynamic configuration changes. It occur as a result of change in wing kinematics or gravity center position. As the flight speed increases the lift force is generated like in classic airplane wing and the power unit load decreases. The conception of presented air vehicle assume to join best features of airplanes and helicopters i.e. vertical take-off, good flight performances and lack of strict border between both phases of flight.

To solve the mismatch between the supply and demand of shared electric vehicles (SEVs) caused by the uneven distribution of SEVs in space and time, an SEV relocating optimization model is designed based on a reward mechanism. The aim of the model is to achieve a cost-minimized rebalancing of the SEV system. Users are guided to attend the relocating SEVs by a reward mechanism, and employees can continuously relocate multiple SEVs before returning to the supply site. The optimization problem is solved by a heuristic column generation algorithm, in which the driving routes of employees are added into a pool by column generation iteratively. In the pricing subproblem of column generation, the Shuffled Complex Evolution–University of Arizona (SCE–UA) is designed to generate a driving route. The proposed model is verified with the actual data of the Dalian city. The results show that our model can reduce the total cost of relocating and improve the service efficiency.

The article proposes an analysis of ethical interventions made by European Union bodies in the form of ethical recommendations addressed to artificial intelligence (AI) developers – using the example of ‘Ethics of connected and automated vehicles’ issued by the European Commission. AI is a hitherto undefined precisely phenomenon involving automated data acquisition and processing. For the purposes of this article, AI isdefined as a technology that enables machines to „learn from experience, adapt to new information and perform human-like tasks” (www16). The proposed analysis would be semantic (examining the basic concepts used to justify interventions) and teleological (examining the intentions behind interventions). The recommendations addressed to AV developers and users, given the clearly defined scope included in the twenty theses, allow for a coherent analysis of the EU institutions attitude towards technology in its early stages of development.
Artykuł zawiera propozycję przeprowadzenia analizy interwencji etycznych podejmowanych przez organy Unii Europejskiej w formie rekomendacji etycznych kierowanych do twórców sztucznej inteligencji (SI) – na przykładzie dokumentu Etyka pojazdów zautomatyzowanych i połączonych wydanego przez Komisję Europejską. SI to dotąd niezdefiniowane precyzyjnie zjawisko obejmujące zautomatyzowane pozyskiwanie i przetwarzanie danych. Na potrzeby artykułu przyjęto jej definicję jako technologii umożliwiającej maszynom „uczenie się na podstawie doświadczeń, dostosowywanie się do nowych informacji i wykonywanie zadań podobnych do ludzkich” (www16). Proponowana analiza miałaby charakter semantyczny (badanie podstawowych pojęć używanych do uzasadniania interwencji) oraz teleologiczny (badanie intencji stojących za interwencjami). Rekomendacje skierowane do twórców i użytkowników pojazdów autonomicznych (PA), biorąc pod uwagę jasno określony zakres zawarty w dwudziestu tezach, pozwalają na spójną analizę stosunku instytucji unijnych do technologii we wczesnych fazach jej rozwoju.

Opis:
Hybrid propulsion in underwater vehicles is the new idea of combining conventional propulsion systems such as screw propellers with other kinds of propulsion like oscillating biomimetic fins, glider wings or jet thrusters. Each of these propulsion systems has its own benefits and drawbacks, and the goal is to have them complement each other in certain conditions. This paper covers the topic of a dynamic model of the pitch and heave motion of the HUUV (hybrid unmanned underwater vehicle) using screw propellers and biomimetic lateral fins. Firstly, the simulation model of the vehicle performing depth and pitch change is presented. Secondly, the vehicle’s hydrodynamic coefficients obtained from CFD simulations are discussed. Thirdly, the results of the HUUV experimental studies in a swimming pool are presented. Lastly, simulation results are compared with those of the experiment to verify the correctness of the model. The vehicle’s motion in the swimming pool during the experiments was recorded using a submerged camcorder and then analysed using the Tracker software.

Usually, the judgement of one type fault of vehicle pass-by noise is difficult for engineers, especially when some significant features are disturbed by other interference noise, such as the squealing noise is almost simultaneous with the whistle in the exhaust system. In order to cope with this problem, a new method, with the antinoise ability of the algorithm on the condition by which the features are entangled, is developed to extract clear features for the fault analysis. In the proposed method, the nonnegative Tucker3 decomposition (NTD) with fast updating algorithm, signed as NTD_FUP, can find out the natural frequency of the parts/components from the exhaust system. Not only does the NTD_FUP extract clear features from the confused noise, but also it is superior to the traditional methods in practice. Then, an aluminium-foil alloy material, which is used for the heat shield for its lower noise radiation, replaces the aluminium alloy alone. Extensive experiments show that the sound pressure level of the vehicle pass-by noise is reduced 0.9 dB(A) by the improved heat shield, which is also considered as a more lightweight design for the exhaust system of an automobile.

We optimise a postal delivery problem with time and capacity constraints imposed on vehicles and nodes of the logistic network. Time constraints relate to the duration of routes, whereas capacity constraints concern technical characteristics of vehicles and postal operation outlets. We consider a method which can be applied to a brownfield scenario, in which capacities of outlets can be relaxed and prospective hubs identified. As a solution, we apply a genetic algorithm and test its properties both in small case studies and in a simulated problem instance of a larger (i.e. comparable with real-world instances) size. We show that the genetic operators we employ are capable of switching between solutions based on direct origin-to-destination routes and solutions based on transfer connections, depending on what is more beneficial in a given problem instance. Moreover, the algorithm correctly identifies cases in which volumes should be shipped directly, and those in which it is optimal to use transfer connections within a single problem instance, if an instance in question requires such a selection for optimality. The algorithm is thus suitable for determining hubs and satellite locations. All considerations presented in this paper are motivated by real-life problem instances experienced by the Polish Post, the largest postal service provider in Poland, in its daily plans of delivering postal packages, letters and pallets.

In general, currently employed vehicle classification algorithms based on the magnetic signature can distinguish among only a few vehicle classes. The work presents a new approach to this problem. A set of characteristic parameters measurable from the magnetic signature and limits of their uncertainty intervals are determined independently for each predefined class. The source of information on the vehicle parameters is its magnetic signature measured in a system that enables independent measurement of two signals, i.e. changes in the active and reactive component of the inductive loop impedance caused by a passing vehicle. These innovations result in high selective classification system, which utilizes over a dozen vehicle classes. The evaluation of the proposed approach was carried out for good vehicles consisting of 2-axle tractor and a 3-axle semi-trailer.
