Travertine formation is one of the most important archives of active tectonics in a region and provides information about climate, water temperature and quantity, and biological activity. The Edremit travertines and tufas extend over nearly160 km2 within the boundaries of the Edremit area to the east of Lake Van (eastern Turkey), and yield important evidence towards understanding the neotectonics of the region. The Edremit travertines and tufas were studied throughout their full stratigraphic extent, the factors controlling the formation of these deposits were examined, and the succession was sampled for U/Th analysis. Travertine formation was found to occur from 542–29.7 ka, with two different tufa formation periods: from 29.7–5.8 ka and 5.8–2.08 ka. Pauses in travertine formation (palaeosols) were identified from 510–470 ka, 289–269 ka and 91–34 ka. Our study showed that climate parameters affected the formation of tufa, while the Edremit travertines developed under the control of tectonism. The Van Fault is directly associated with travertine development and its age was identified as 542 ka or older. Since the Gürpιnar Fault, one of the most important faults in the region, is effective in shaping the southern slope of the travertines and limiting the movement of the Van Fault, its age should be younger than 542.4 ka. The Elmalιk Fault played an active role in the formation of the Edremit tufas and is proposed to be 29.7 ka in age, from stratigraphic relationships in the region.

W niniejszej pracy zbadano wpływ składu fazy ruchomej oraz temperatury na proces retencji trzech testowych związków chemicznych: kofeiny, kwercetyny oraz fenolu w chromatografii oddziaływań hydrofilowych (HILIC). Określono także ogólną sprawność kolumny dla badanych związków w układach z fazami ruchomymi zawierającymi 70 i 90% [V/V] rozpuszczalnika organicznego. Badania przeprowadzono w kolumnie wypełnionej żelem krzemionkowym modyfikowanym grupami aminowymi. Temperaturę zmieniano w zakresie od 20 do 50°C, natomiast objętościowe natężenie przepływu eluentów w zakresie 0,05 do 3 [cm3 /min]. Otrzymane zależności wykazały istotny wpływ zarówno składu fazy ruchomej jak i temperatury na mechanizm retencji związków testowych. Wykazano także wysoką sprawność kolumny w przypadku badanych układów.
In this work, the influence of the composition of mobile phase and temperature on the retention process of three test compounds: caffeine, quercetin and phenol in hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) were analyzed. The overall efficiency of the column for the tested compounds was also determined in eluent systems with 70 and 90% [V/V] of organic modifier. The tests were carried out using column filled with the stationary phase being silica gel modified by amine groups. Temperature was varied in the range from 20 to 50°C, while the flow rate was set in the range from 0.05 to 3 [cm3/min]. The obtained dependences showed a significant influence of both the composition of the mobile phase and temperature on the retention mechanism of the test chemicals. High efficiency of the column in the investigated systems was also confirmed.

Artykuł stanowi przyczynek w studium lektur Elżbiety od Trójcy Świętej (1880–1906) oraz ich oddziaływania na jej styl myślenia i w konsekwencji piśmiennictwa. Kwerendę zawężono do jednego tylko autora – błogosławionego Jana van Ruusbroeca (1293–1381) i jego dzieła, którym mniszka dysponowała (Rusbrock l’admirable, transl. E. Hello, Paris 1902). Opracowanie oparto na sześciu przewodnich tematach, do których mistyczka z Dijon najczęściej powracała. Są nimi: 1. Miłość; 2. Przepaść, którą jest Bóg; 3. Człowiek pokorny i prosty; 4. Wolna wola; 5. Święte milczenie; 6. Wieczne teraz. W Rusbrock l’admirable Elżbieta od Trójcy Świętej odnajdywała siebie. Dzięki lekturze tej książki doskonale sprecyzowała to, co sama wyczuwała i czego doświadczała.
The article contributes to the study of Elizabeth of the Trinity’s readings (1880–1906) and their impact to her way of thinking and in consequence her style of writing. The search query was narrowed down only to one author – the blessed John van Ruusbroec (1293–1381) and his work which the nun had (Rusbrock l’admirable, transl. E. Hello, Paris 1902). The analysis was based against six leading topics to which the mystic from Dijon frequently came back. These are: 1. Love; 2. The abyss that is God; 3. The man simple and humble; 4. Free will; 5. Saint silence; 6. Eternal now. In Rusbrock l’admirable Elizabeth of the Trinity was discovering herself. Thanks to the reading of this book she perfectly specified what she herself was sensing and experiencing.

Badaniom poddano górnokredowe piaskowce ciosowe, jako grupę skał dość jednorodnych pod względem składu mineralnego. Są to ponadto skały powszechnie stosowane do celów budowlanych. W wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz porozymetrycznych, metodą porozymetrii rtęciowej, otrzymano krzywe kumulacyjne rozkładu średnic porów w próbkach piaskowców. Krzywe te zostały dopasowane do funkcji empirycznej zależności ciśnienia od nasycenia P(S). Funkcja van Genuchtena w sposób empiryczny opisuje kształt krzywych kumulacyjnych, a jej parametry pozwalają na przeprowadzenie porównań ilościowych. W wyniku parametryzacji wyróżniono cztery klasy odporności na wietrzenie. Podział na poszczególne grupy nie jest bezpośrednio uzależniony od pochodzenia próbek, całkowitej porowatości skał, uziarnienia czy zawartości spoiwa. O odporności na wietrzenie, a co za tym idzie - o podziale na poszczególne klasy odporności, decyduje zespół wymienionych cech, wraz ze składem mineralnym i wykształceniem przestrzeni porowej. Ze względu na złożoność tych czynników wydaje, się że przedstawiona powyżej parametryzacja może być przydatnym narzędziem do określania podatności piaskowców na wietrzenie.
Upper Cretaceous quader sandstones are the group of rocks of relatively uniform mineral composition. They are also widely used, not only in Poland, for building purposes. Basing on the porosimetric analysis, carried out with use of mercury injection tests, the capillary pressure saturation curves were taken under consideration. The curves were fitted to van Genuchten's empirical capillary pressure-saturation function. The parameters of the function enable quantitative comparison between the sampled rocks. Basing on the parameterisation, with the van Genuchten function, of cumulative capillary pressure saturation curves, it was possible to distinguish four groups of the analysed sandstones. It could be concluded, that the weathering sustainability within the groups is not related to a single feature such as: origin of the samples, total porosity, grain-size distribution or cement content. The weathering-resistance is connected with the composition of the above-mentioned features, as well as mineral composition, and pore area characteristic. Taking into account a complicated nature of all the factors, the presented parametrisation could be a simple and useful device for the weathering-resistance classification of sandstones.

The Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark is located in the mountainous area of the northern part of Vietnam. It became the 77th member of the Global Geoparks Network in 2010. The Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark is a unique combination of breathtaking scenery and culture of ethnic groups, with many potential values such as its geoheritage, biological diversity and historical places, which attract many domestic and foreign visitors. Up to 60% of the area of this geopark is covered by karst. Its topography is strongly dissected by deep river gorges with steep slopes, and this area has experienced several deformational phases from the Middle Cambrian/Early Ordovician, to the Cenozoic. These elements contributed to the breathtaking scenery of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, the first global geopark in Vietnam and the second in South-East Asia.
Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau położony jest w górzystym rejonie północnej części Wietnamu. W 2010 roku jako 77 geopark dołączył do Światowej Sieci Geoparków (Global Geoparks Network). Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau cechuje unikalne połączenie wyjątkowych krajobrazów i kultury grup etnicznych, z licznymi potencjalnymi walorami, takimi jak geodziedzictwo, różnorodnością biologiczną i historycznymi miejscami, które przyciągają wielu krajowych i zagranicznych turystów. Obszar krasowy zajmuje 60% geoparku, silnie rozcięty głębokimi przełomami rzek o stromych stokach, został objęty kilkoma fazami deformacyjnymi, trwającymi od środkowego kambru/wczesnego ordowiku do kenozoiku. Te elementy złożyły się na niezwykły krajobraz Geoparku Dong Van Karst Plateau, pierwszego światowego geoparku w Wietnamie i drugiego w południowo-wschodniej Azji.

In this paper, I discuss the interpretation of the method of deconstruction in David J. Gunkel’s Deconstruction (MIT Press 2021). I focus on the relationship between deconstruction and truth. I hold that the concept of truth is indispensable for deconstruction since truth introduces correctness conditions for the deconstructive method. However, I claim that truth, being essential and primitive for deconstruction, is fundamentally inaccessible for being analyzed by the latter.

In the paper the concepts of conversion a van vehicle type DZT Pasagon for bimodal hybryd car was described. The car will have the possibility to drive in three modes: "diesel", electric mode, and charging onboard battery. A special synchronous permanent magnets motor attended to the hybrid vehicle was designed. New motor will be mounted directly on the cardan shaft. The shaft of the electric motor is responsible for transmitting full torque from the internal combustion engine to the wheels. The electric motor will be able to work in motor and generator mode. In the generator mode batteries are charging. In the paper, distribution of main elements of the hybrid system, with particular emphasis on the location of the lithium ion batteries was discussed.

The article analyzes and criticizes the assumptions of Peter Van Inwagen’s argument for the alleged contradiction of the foreknowledge of God and human freedom. The argument is based on the sine qua non condition of human freedom defined as access to possible worlds containing such a continuation of the present in which the agent implements a different action than will be realized de facto in the future. The condition also contains that in every possible continuation of the present state of affairs, the same propositions about the ‘present past’ (the past before the present moment) are true as are true in the present state of affairs. The paper argues that Van Inwagen’s reasoning is inconclusive, it contains the type of mistake of confusing conditional impossibility with unconditional and presents a methodologically wrong method of solving a philosophical problem. It is because in the very construction of the problem determining the available solution. The article points to the possibility that the human freedom of some action is not excluded by the fact that specific past facts logically entail that this event will occur.

Sequel lub koda artykułu poświęconego filmowi To Sang Fotostudio, który został opublikowany w setnym, jubileuszowym wydaniu „Kwartalnika Filmowego”. Autor postanowił odwiedzić miejsce, gdzie nakręcono dokument Johana van der Keukena, nie tyle po to, by przeprowadzić tam śledztwo, ile by zrealizować rodzaj eksperymentu – wizyta miała stanowić okazję do otwarcia się na doświadczenie, z założenia niekompletne i zamknięte w obrębie kilku dni. Tekst jest nie tyle uzupełnieniem interpretacji zawartej w poprzednim artykule, ile raczej próbą zastanowienia się nad wartością poznawczą indywidualnego doświadczenia w kontekście rozpoznania możliwych znaczeń dzieła filmowego. Pitrus przyjmuje postawę skrajnie subiektywną, ale sugeruje, że i takie odczytania mogą mieć sens dla czytelnika. W wyprawie brali także udział bliski przyjaciel autora Artur Piskorz i Miłość Jego Życia – Alicja Helman. Ich obecność była wielce znacząca dla powodzenia przedsięwzięcia.
A sequel or coda of the article devoted to the film To Sang Fotostudio, which was published in the hundredth, jubilee edition of the “Kwartalnik Filmowy”. The author decided to visit the place where Johan van der Keuken’s documentary was made. The purpose of the expedition was not so much to conduct an investigation, but an experiment - the visit was to be an opportunity to open up oneself to experience, that is by assumption incomplete and closed within a few days. The text is not so much a complement to the interpretation contained in the previous article, but rather an attempt to reflect on the cognitive value of individual experience in the context of recognizing the possible meanings of a film work. Andrzej Pitrus takes an extremely subjective attitude, but suggests that such readings may make sense for the reader. In the expedition, the close friend of the author Artur Piskorz and the Love of his Life - Alicja Helman also took part. Their presence was very significant for the success of the undertaking.

Autor artykułu przywołuje dwa spory między Polakami i Żydami, które dotyczą nazistowskiego obozu koncentracyjnego Auschwitz-Birkenau. Pierwsza dotyczyła lokalizacji Klasztoru Karmelitów w budynku tzw. „starego teatru”, który znajduje się na terenie byłego obozu. Drugi spór związany był z krzyżami, które postawiono na żwirowni w pobliżu obozu. Obie kwestie stały się przedmiotem otwartego konfliktu, który zwrócił uwagę opinii publicznej w Polsce i zagranicą. Przywołane przez autora spory ukazują dwa rodzaje pamięci – polską i żydowską, obnażając stereotypy i wzajemne uprzedzenia. Zaangażowanie najważniejszych postaci z obu stron sporu pokazuje, że cała sprawa była bardzo ważna. Autor przypomina, co się wydarzyło, opierając się na publikacjach i artykułach na ten temat.
The author of the article evokes two disputes between Poles and Jews which concern the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The first concerned location of Carmelite Monastery in the building of so-called “the old theatre” which is on the sites of the former camp. The second dispute was linked with crosses which were placed on the gravel pit near the camp. Both issues became subjects of open conflict which focused attention of public opinion in Poland and abroad. The disputes recalled by the author show two kinds of memory – Polish and Jewish, and they exposed stereotypes and mutual prejudice. The involvement of the most important figures from both sides in the dispute shows that the whole matter was very important. The author reminds what happened on the basis of publications and articles.
