This article presents research on value preferences of eleven-year-old fifth grade pupils. Differences between two groups of gifted pupils were observed - between 71 contemporary pupils and 229 pupils in ELSPAC in the years 2002 - 03. The identical identification criteria were used in the selection of both groups. By selecting questions from the ELSPAC questionnaires we compared the value preferences data of both of the gifted groups. We were dealing with research questions: which values the gifted prefer in friends, which priorities of life values they have, and which one is the most important for them. No statistically significant differences were found in the comparison of the majority of the values of the two groups. In the evaluation of friends, all the respondents most preferred the item “how you get along“ and then “their reliability“. The most significant difference was found in the item “the gain from your friendship with them“ which moved from the 15t to the 5t place in 10 years. No statistically significant differences were found in the question of life values between the two groups of gifted children in our data set except for the item “personal property,“ which was more important for the gifted of 2012. The most important value for both of the groups was “family relations“ ahead of the item “health“ and “having friends“.

The author presents the results of a research focused on finding a number of psychological characteristics of state administration and municipality managers who influence the school system at a regional level. The research, which was oriented towards determination of the value structure and preferences, comes out of the premise that values quite significantly regulate and correct human behaviour. The empiric probe signalizes that the tested persons do not show value recondition consistent with their professional roles and, at the same time, it also aspires to map mutual ties of the researched value aspects with other personality characteristics.

Include foods from all 12 food groups in your diet. Dry legumes constitute the ninth group. They are a source of valuable protein, dietary fiber and valuable minerals needed for the proper functioning of the body. The average protein content in legume seeds ranges from 20% to 35% on average. In recent years, due to the growing trend for plant-based diets, chickpeas have gained popularity, especially hummus from the Middle East. Most of the respondents participating in the study were students of the first year of the second degree of dietetics 51.7% (N=31). The majority of respondents - 78.3% (N=47) suggested that they eat hummus. When asked about the reason for hummus consumption, the most frequently chosen answer was "It's tasty", which was indicated by 66.7% (N=40) of students. The most frequently consumed type of hummus in terms of taste was natural hummus, chosen by 38.2% (N=23) of the respondents. Most respondents, 81.7% (N=49), believed that hummus is an important source of protein when following a vegetarian diet. At the end, the best and the worst hummus were assessed, taking into account all the sensory characteristics of hummus: color, texture, smell and taste. The vast majority of the surveyed students of dietetics included hummus in their diet, most of whom chose this product because of the taste.
W diecie warto umieścić żywność ze wszystkich 12 grup produktów spożywczych. Suche nasiona roślin strączkowych stanowią dziewiątą grupę. Są źródłem cennego białka, błonnika pokarmowego i cennych minerałów potrzebnych do prawidłowego funkcjonowania organizmu. Średnia zawartość białka w nasionach roślin strączkowych wynosi średnio od 20% do 35%. W ostatnich latach, ze względu na co raz większą modę na diety roślinne, popularność zyskała ciecierzyca, a w szczególności pochodzący z terenów Bliskiego Wschodu hummus. Najwięcej respondentów biorących udział w badaniu było studentami I roku II stopnia dietetyki 51,7% (N=31). Większość ankietowanych – 78,3% (N=47) zasugerowała, że spożywa hummus. Na pytanie o powód spożycia hummusu najczęściej wybieraną była odpowiedź „Jest smaczny”, którą wskazało 66,7% (N=40) studentów. Najczęściej spożywanym rodzajem hummusu ze względu na smak był hummus naturalny, wybrany przez 38,2% (N=23) ankietowanych. Najwięcej respondentów, bo 81,7% (N=49) uważało, że hummus stanowi istotne źródło białka podczas stosowania diety wegetariańskiej. Na koniec próbowano ocenić najlepszy oraz najgorszy hummus, biorąc pod uwagę wszystkie cechy sensoryczne hummusu: barwę, konsystencję, zapach oraz smak. Zdecydowana większość ankietowanych studentów dietetyki uwzględniła w swojej diecie spożywanie hummusu, z czego większość wybierała ten produkt ze względu na smak.

In today's highly competitive environment, where sources of product and process-based competitive advantage are quickly imitated by competitors, it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate on technical features and quality alone. Companies may overcome this problem by incorporating the 'voice of the customer' into the design of new products and focusing on customer value, thereby offering total solutions to customer needs. Therefore, it is critical for all technology-based companies to gain an accurate understanding of the potential value of their offerings, and to learn how this value can be further enhanced. An important tool to elicit customer value at an early stage of the product development is the conjoint analysis. Conjoint analysis is a research technique for measuring customers' preferences, and it is a method for simulating how customers might react to changes in current products or to new products introduced into an existing competitive market. The paper will show how conjoint analysis can be used to bridge the information gap between the company and its customers, by confronting the value the company intends to offer with the value desired by its customers.

A basic need of every responsible man is to provide for own housing with the continual increase of world population energy consumption is growing continually as well and in parallel there is an increase in CO2 emissions. Buildings during their lifetime use approximately 40% of energy, while its operation concerning heating and cooling counts for 60-70% of this consumed energy. The most suitable solution means building houses with low energy demands which do not harm the environment Therefore the preferred solution has become to build houses with low-energy houses not burdening the environment. The aim of this chapter is to present the basic aspects and advantages of wood buildings as well as their requirements for the internal layout from the point of ergonomics changes. We can state that based on findings and research, that the current generation of people has significantly higher height and weight proportions. Based on linear regression equations we define the magnitude of secular changes for men and women. The change represents a 1.55 mm body height increase for men and 0.5 mm for women per year.

Research background: The services provided by ecosystems are the main support for human populations and for the development of any type of activity. Today, the provision of these services is under threat. The economic valuation of ecosystem services is vital to design appropriate policies, define strategies and manage ecosystems. Purpose of the article: The objective of this study is to analyse the evolution of research on the economic valuation of ecosystem services over the last two decades. More specifically, it aims firstly to identify the main agents driving research and, secondly, it seeks to synthesize in a single document the relevant information on the main economic valuation methods, relating them to the categories of services, ecosystems and regions where they have been employed. Methods: A quantitative review was first carried out through a bibliometric analysis to identify the main drivers of this line of research and its development trends. Secondly, a qualitative review was conducted through a systematic review focusing on the most commonly used valuation techniques in relation to the characteristics of the service, the geographical scope and the ecosystem analysed. Findings & value added: The main novelty of this work, compared to previous literature, is that the relationship between the study area, the type of ecosystem, the category of service and the economic valuation methodology are analysed for the first time. The results highlight the need to continue expanding knowledge in relation to the temporal and spatial scale in the economic value of ecosystem services, the subjective nature of the estimates and the heterogeneity between the different social sectors with respect to the benefit obtained.

The biomass energy has the potentiality of sequestering carbon and the capacity of reducing global warming. The study was conducted with a view to assessing the local preferences of firewood for domestic use with the physical characteristics of firewood species. The study was conducted in different communities of Kamrabo village under Shibpur Upazila in Narsingdi district of Bangladesh. Purposive random sampling was performed for the study covering 50% households with a total of 160 households of the study area. A direct interview with semi-structured questionnaires based on twelve quality criteria was conducted in the study area for identification of local preferences of firewood species and drawing up a pair-wise ranking matrix based on it. Fuel value index (FVI) was used to rank the preferred firewood species based on their physical properties. The trees Artocarpus heterophyllus, Swietenia mahagoni, Albizia lebbek, Acacia auriculiformis, Syzygium fruticosum, etc. having the FVI values were found in decreasing order. The study found a resemblance between the order of FVI values and the ranks of the firewood species by household preferences. The study will be useful in energy management and policy in rural Bangladesh.
