Opis:
Main requirements for rolling stock design and organization of the operating system are determined by membership in a certain transportation category for which such a transportation facility is designated. Thus, a specific feature of rolling stock operation is considered to the maximum extent, and functional correspondence with stated tasks is ensured. The significant disadvantage of the existing structure of rolling stock traffic is the necessity of time-space agreements of passenger traffic due to the necessity of shifting different transport types with the minimum time consumption. The solution to such an issue can be found in the development and use of a universal (multifunctional) integrated transport system. The list of issues arising during the creation of a multifunctional transport system can be funnelled into two groups: social and economic and organizational and technical. The first group is social and economic and shall conceptually solve issues of the multifunctional system feasibility for certain urban settlement conditions (conglomerate of urban settlements). The second group consists of organizational and technical issues. This study proposes to eliminate certain material issues in the sphere of suburban and urban traffic by the infrastructure improvement with the significant traffic increase and fluctuations.

Opis:
Unmanned aerial vehicles, often referred to as drones, are increasingly used as an element of the transport system, including in urban areas. Despite the limitations, mainly related to the range and load capacity, it should be expected that in the near future, they will transport cargo and passengers as one of the elements of the urban transport system. The concept of Urban Air Mobility (UAM), which envisages the use of drones and other aircraft in urban airspace, meets this goal. Literature analysis was used to identify and describe applications of drones in the urban transport systems and to articulate key challenges related to this issue as well. The article presents generalizations regarding the use of drones in the urban transport system, including urban air mobility. It identifies the key challenges related to their implementation in urban areas. Typical applications of drones in urban airspace include passenger and cargo transportation and support for services and Intelligent Transportation System components. The main challenges relate to legal regulations, safety and security, air traffic management, environmental impact, infrastructure and social acceptance for implementing drones in the city’s transport system.

Opis:
The paper addresses key challenges in passenger transport caused by COVID-19. The aim of the publication is to show the consequences of the pandemic for the evolution of passenger transport and the development directions of the sector, as well as the change in mobile behaviour. Moreover, the paper analyses passenger traffic by air, rail and public transport. The data was compared with the volume and structure of traffic before the pandemic. Regardless of how the scenarios related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic will play out, there is no doubt that mobility trends have changed significantly. The pandemic has impacted mobile behaviour primarily through the development of hybrid working, home office, e-commerce or e-entertainment. Indeed, all modes of transport have been affected by the changes. Fast-growing new travel trends like shared mobility have been curtailed due to the fear of coronavirus infection. The passenger transport sector faces many challenges as a result of the epidemic situation, especially as the pandemic has seen a return to private car travel, which conflicts with the tenets of sustainable development, including sustainable mobility.

Informacja pasażerska jest istotnym elementem składowym jakości świadczonych usług i wpływa na podjęcie decyzji o wyborze konkretnego środka transportu. Aktualność, rzetelność i trafność informacji pasażerskiej na każdym etapie podróży będą przyczyniały się do wzrostu konkurencyjności publicznego transportu zbiorowego w stosunku do transportu indywidualnego. Informacja pasażerska jest ważna tym bardziej, iż jej pozyskanie jest istotne na etapie dużo wcześniejszym niż realizacja usługi przewozowej, wręcz warunkuje ona podjęcie decyzji o zakupie usługi przewozowej. W artykule przedstawiono system informacji pasażerskiej wykorzystywany w miejskim transporcie zbiorowym w Wiedniu, prezentując narzędzia i formy wykorzystywane do jej przekazywania. Zaprezentowano również ocenę funkcjonowania systemu informacji pasażerskiej dokonaną przez użytkowników publicznego transportu zbiorowego w Wiedniu. Ocena systemu informacji pasażerskiej została przeprowadzona dla różnych narzędzi wykorzystywanych na etapie planowania podróży, na przystankach i w pojazdach.
Passenger information is an important component of service quality and affects the decision to choose a particular mode transport. Timeliness, reliability and relevance of passenger information at each stage of the journey will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of public transport in relation to individual transport. Passenger information is all the more important as its acquisition is essential at a much earlier stage than the realisation of the transport service, indeed it determines the decision to purchase transport services. This article presents the passenger information system used in urban public transport in Vienna, describing the tools and forms used to provide it. An evaluation of the functioning of the passenger information system by users of public transport in Vienna is also presented. The evaluation of the passenger information system was carried out for the different tools used at the trip planning stage, at stops and in vehicles.

W artykule zaprezentowano opracowaną funkcję do wyznaczania priorytetu w programach sygnalizacji świetlnej dla pojazdów transportu publicznego z uwzględnieniem aktualnej liczby pasażerów w pojeździe oraz kosztów społecznych transportu. Przedstawione zostały wybrane sposoby detekcji pojazdów, w tym pojazdów transportu zbiorowego pod kątem możliwych do uzyskania danych. Zaprezentowane zostały najważniejsze technologie automatycznych systemów zliczania pasażerów oraz dokładność, z jaką zbierane są dane. W artykule omówiono także społeczne koszty transportu, które zostały podzielone na trzy grupy: wewnętrzne, zewnętrzne oraz pośrednie. Na podstawie zebranych danych z literatury i badań własnych opracowano funkcje kosztów zatrzymania pojazdu przed skrzyżowaniem, oddzielnie dla transportu publicznego i indywidualnego. Dla opracowanej funkcji kosztu priorytetu na skrzyżowaniu z sygnalizacją świetlną przedstawiono możliwe jej zastosowania. Artykuł zakończono podsumowaniem i planem dalszych badań nad tematem.
This article presents a function develop for determining priority in traffic light programs for public transport vehicles, using the current number of passengers in the vehicle and the social costs of transport. Selected methods of vehicle detection, including public transport vehicles in terms of the data that can be obtained have been described. The main technologies of automatic passenger counting systems and the accuracy with which data is collected are presented. The article also discusses the social costs of transport, which are divided into three groups: internal, external and indirect. Based on the data collected from literature and own research, cost functions for stopping a vehicle before an intersection were developed separately for public and individual transport. Possible applications for the created priority cost function at intersections with traffic lights are shown. The paper concludes with a summary and a plan for further research on the topic.

Opis:
Designation of places for public transport stops is a key component of research on their accessibility. However, further research is needed to solve the problem with organization of public transport stops. This paper provides the results of an priori ranking analysis aimed at defining the most significant factors affecting the accessibility of stops and their scope. The proposed mathematical model, which uses dimensional theory, consists of two stages: pedestrians’ movement to a stop and passengers’ trip to a transit stop. It is a theoretical premise that allows to determination of placement of public transport stops considering the main indicators, which are the distance covered by pedestrians and the speed of public transport.

The paper presents the results of tests of sound levels in the passenger space of the EN57 series electric multiple unit (EMU) during standstill, starting-up, running and braking. The tests were carried out on the basis of the author’s test methodology based on the PN-EN ISO 3381 standard: Railway applications. Acoustics. Measurement of noise inside rail vehicles. The tests were carried out on the railway line No. 250 from the Gdańsk Śródmieście stop to the Rumia station. The aim of the tests was to assess the acoustic climate in the passenger space of the EN57 series electric multiple unit of the Tricity fast urban railway of S2 line Gdańsk Śródmieście - Rumia. The results of the carried out analysis showed places potentially threatened with higher noise levels than others and the impact of these sound levels on passengers using public transport such as the EN57series EMU in the Tricity.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań poziomów dźwięku w przestrzeni pasażerskiej elektrycznego zespołu trakcyjnego (EZT) serii EN57 podczas postoju, rozruchu, jazdy oraz hamowania. Badania przeprowadzono na podstawie autorskiej metodyki badawczej bazując na normie PN-EN ISO 3381:Kolejnictwo. Akustyka. Pomiar hałasu wewnątrz pojazdów szynowych. Badania przeprowadzono na linii kolejowej nr 250 od przystanku Gdańsk Śródmieście do stacji Rumia. Celem badań była ocena klimatu akustycznego w przestrzeni pasażerskiej elektrycznego zespołu trakcyjnego serii EN57, trójmiejskiej szybkiej kolei miejskiej linii S2 Gdańsk Śródmieście – Rumia. Wyniki przeprowadzonej analizy wskazały na miejsca potencjalnie zagrożone wyższymi poziomami dźwięków niż pozostałe oraz wpływ tych poziomów dźwięku na pasażerów korzystających z transportu publicznego jakim jest EZT serii EN57 w Trójmieście.

Pasażerski transport multimodalny może w przyszłości stanowić efektywny i wydajny sposób przemieszczania się ludności. W polskiej przestrzeni widoczne są inwestycje służące budowie węzłów przesiadkowych w wielu miastach, które umożliwiają wygodne przesiadanie się między różnymi środkami transportu. Ten rodzaj organizacji przewozów może być badany nie tylko w makroskali w przewozach międzyregionalnych, np. w drodze do kurortów nadmorskich i górskich, ale też w skali lokalnej w przypadku przesiadki np. z pociągu na środek transportu miejskiego. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja multimodalnych węzłów przesiadkowych we Wrocławiu, określenie ich lokalizacji, stopnia multimodalności oraz zależności przestrzennych między nimi, co pozwoli wskazać węzły funkcjonujące efektywnie oraz te, wymagające usprawnień. Do wykorzystanych metod należą przede wszystkim obserwacje, analizy sieciowe oraz analizy przestrzenne oparte na autokorelacji przestrzennej. Efektem badań są zarówno charakterystyki najważniejszych węzłów, jak i mapy przedstawiające ich przepustowość. Za węzły multimodalne zostały uznane zespoły przystanków umożliwiających przesiadkę między transportem: lotniczym, kolejowym, autobusowym, tramwajowym i rowerowym oraz autobusami regionalnymi i dalekobieżnymi, a także miejsca umożliwiające zmianę własnego samochodu na inne środki transportu. W końcowej części artykułu zaproponowane zostały rozwiązania usprawniające funkcjonowanie węzłów przesiadkowych we Wrocławiu, z uwzględnieniem spodziewanych inwestycji rozwojowych w zakresie transportu publicznego.
Multimodal passenger transport may, in the future, be an effective way of traveling. In the Polish space, there are visible investments in the construction multimodal interchanges in many cities which enable comfortable change between various means of transport. This type of transport organization can be tested not only on a macroscale in interregional transport, for example on the way to seaside and mountain resorts, but also on |a local scale, for example a change from a train to urban transport. The aim of this article is to identify multimodal interchanges in Wrocław, to determine their location, the degree of multimodality and spatial dependencies between them, which will allow to identify effective nodes and those which require improvement. The methods include, first of all, observations, network analyzes and spatial analyzes based on spatial autocorrelation. The results of the research are both the characteristics of the most important interchange and maps showing their capacity as far as travelling around Wrocław is concerned. As multimodal nodes, the author classified groups of stops enabling a change between air, rail, bus, tram and bicycle transport as well as regional and long-distance buses and changing private car to another way of transport. In the final part of the article proposed investments were presented to improve the functioning of multimodal interchanges in Wrocław, taking into account the expected investments in the development of public transport.

The article presents the implementation in the Omsk region of the project "Safe and high-quality roads," which is currently being implemented in various regions of Russia. Studies included the development and implementation of programs for the development of roads and municipalities, bringing the urban agglomeration network into a normative transport and operational state, eliminating the congestion of the urban agglomeration road network, including by transferring passenger traffic to publictransport, optimizing traffic flows, and improving the efficiency of the traffic management system. To this end, a number of surveys of passenger and traffic flows have been carried out. The results of the surveys formed the basis of the transport model, through which programs were developed to optimize the route and transport networks of agglomerate cities. A proposal was made to use a survey of public transport drivers to obtain competent opinions on the need for appropriate changes and improvements.

The purpose of this work was to present the public transport system operating in the city of Lublin, including its history, organizational structure, elements of line and point infrastructure, and analysis of the survey results in the form of a survey conducted among 248 people who are passengers of public transport. The questionnaire contained 20 questions whose answers were developed in the form of charts and tables and their discussions. In addition, comparative data from a study carried out in 2016 by the Municipal Transport Authority in Lublin were added to some of the results. The elaboration of results allowed the assessment of the level of satisfaction among respondents, including proposed changes submitted by the respondents. They are a suggestion for the body dealing with the organization of public transport in the city, as well as for entities performing transport within it, regarding future projects improving the operation of public transport, thus satisfying the needs of potential passengers.

The work presents a methodology that allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of the system in accordance with accepted standards in terms of the three components of the “passenger–carrier–department” system, taking into account the interests of each side. The given comprehensive effectiveness evaluation of the urban public passenger transport system shows that a new scientific idea consists in forming fundamentally new sets of indicators for each participant of the system (passenger–carrier–department of transport) that correspond to the conditions of functioning of the urban passenger transport system in Russian Federation. The article presents a classification model for the formation of a basic system of indicators and a functional scheme for grouping and ranking them. The effectiveness of the urban public passenger transport system can be considered separately for each participant in the system from its side, in two directions: horizontal (by year, for example, for an enterprise) and vertical (in the current period for all participants).

Celem artykułu jest pokazanie, że piktogram to nie tylko obrazek przekazujący prostą informację i zwrócenie uwagi na złożoność problemów związanych z umiejscowieniem go w otaczającej nas rzeczywistości. Zaprezentowano historię informacji przekazywanej w ten najprostszy z możliwych sposobów, którego nie ograniczają ani językowe, ani narodowościowe konteksty. Ewolucja informacji obrazkowej została przedstawiona na przykładzie oznaczeń groźnych dla zdrowia substancji chemicznych. Zasygnalizowana została potrzeba zachowania spójności w przekazie informacji na linii obiekt–otoczenie zewnętrzne. Oprócz tego przedstawiony został przykład jednego, prostego piktogramu i wielość wariacji na temat tej samej treści, którą prezentuje. Zaprezentowano też rozwiązania stosowane w komunikacji miejskiej – zarówno krajowej, jak i europejskiej. Wskazano podstawy prawne stosowania konkretnych oznaczeń, pokazano konkretne rozwiązania stosowane w praktyce transportu zbiorowego. W ostatniej części artykułu wskazane zostały pożądane kierunki rozwoju wybranej gałęzi systemu informacji pasażerskiej, jaką jest informacja obrazkowa. Poruszono tak istotne pojęcia jak szum informacyjny i wizualny oraz określone zostały postulaty dotyczące minimalizacji przekazywanej informacji oraz jej standaryzacji w skali makro.
The goal of the article is to prove that the pictogram is not only a picture that provides simple information and to draw an attention to the complexity of problems associated with its location in the reality that surrounds us. The history of this type of information is presented in the historical approach – as the information given in the simplest possible way which is not limited by the language or nationality context. The evolution of pictorial information was presented on the example of images of hazardous chemicals. The need to maintain consistency in the transmission of information between the object and external environment has been demonstrated. In addition, an example of one simple pictogram and a multitude of variations presenting the same content are described. Solutions used in public transport – both domestic and European – have also presented. The legal basis for the use of specific markings and specific solutions applied in public transport practice have been presented. The last part of the article indicates the desired development directions for the picture passenger information. Important concepts such as noise data and visual noise have been discussed. Postulates regarding the minimization of transmitted information and its standardization on a macro scale were defined.

For this study, an analysis of a system of transport nodes of the railway and bus service transportation was carried out. A principal scheme of a transport node in typical cities for Bulgaria and a sample flow chart are presented. The categories of basic requirements for transport nodes in cities are also defined. On the basis of a railway system and bus transport nodes in the city of Ruse, Bulgaria, research on the interaction of the system with the mass urban passenger transport has been conducted. As a result, a mathematical model is proposed for the average daily inbound flows of passengers to a specific passenger stop, and a specific route has been modelled to be used as a server. An assessment of the daily irregularity on this route has been performed and a system has been modelled as a system of mass service for assessing the capacity and organization of work. The incoming passenger flows and the speed of passenger service have also been defined as a non-stationary Poisson flow. Under the conditions of non-stationarity flows, the basic values of the system parameters have been calculated and an application has been created in the MatLab platform. For a model of the system of mass service, the system of the differential-algebraic equations Kolmogorov/Erlangen for stochastic processes has been selected.

One of the quality indicators of the transport service in passenger transport is the regularity of the movement of vehicles. Apart from the planned traffic intervals, it depends on a number of factors related to the traffic conditions of the public transport in the locality (intensity and composition of the traffic flow, passenger traffic structure, traffic lights regime, atmospheric conditions, etc.). The paper assesses the regularity of mass urban passenger transport traffic in the conditions of the city of Ruse, Bulgaria, by probing the estimation of the arrival intervals of the means of transport at the stops along a given route.
