Opis:: The purpose of this paper is to contribute to development of approaches to the evaluation of the design of public open green spaces (POS). This paper presents a universal standard for the design of health-promoting urban places. The standard is a conceptual framework which was developed after visiting over one hundred public parks and therapeutic gardens in Europe and the United States. The universal standard is a simple and effective tool that can be used by both professional designers and non-professionals to improve the health-promoting qualities of open green spaces. Rahway River Park, designed by Olmsted Brothers in 1925, serves as a case study.

Opis:: Artykuł dotyczy multisensorycznego odbioru krajobrazu i wykorzystania jego właściwości terapeutycznych. W pracy przedstawiono uaktualnioną wersję Wzorca miejsc promocji zdrowia w mieście, który został uzupełniony o nowy atrybut – Muzyka. Sprawdzenie zasadności wprowadzenia nowego atrybutu wymagało przeprowadzenia badań terenowych. Jako obszary testowe wybrano osiem parków na terenie województwa pomorskiego. Proponowana w artykule wersja wzorca może stanowić cenne narzędzie wspierające procesy projektowe i decyzyjne dotyczące parków miejskich i rekreacyjnych terenów zieleni. Zastosowanie wzorca do sprawdzenia walorów terapeutycznych innych typów krajobrazów kulturowych będzie wymagało dalszych badań.
The study focused on the multisensory perceptions of landscapes and the use of their therapeutic properties. The paper presents an updated version of the universal standard for health-promoting urban places, supplemented with a new attribute – Music. Field research of selected parks in the Pomorskie Voivodeship was undertaken to check the validity of this new attribute. The current resulting version of the standard may be a valuable tool to support any design and decision-making processes regarding city parks and green recreational areas. The usability of this standard to assess the therapeutic value of other different cultural landscapes would require further studies.

Opis:: The International Hydrographic Organization’s (IHO) [1] Transfer Standard for Digital Hydrographic Data S-57 [2] standard has been in force for more than a decade, and has successfully been used for official ENCs adopted by Hydrographic Offices around the world and by navigation equipment manufacturers. Additionally S-57 has been used for many additional purposes. However S-57, and especially the administration of the standard, has also experienced limitations. In 2010, IHO released the next generation hydrographic standard called S-100 Universal Hydrographic Data Model [3]. A move that will open up the door to new possibilities to existing S-57 users and potentially broaden the use of IHO standards in the hydrographic community. This paper will try to explain why an S-57 replacement was needed and give examples on some possibilities with S-100 and its derived product specifications such as S-101.
