    The paper presents a detailed theoretical background for coordinate measurement uncertainty evaluation by means of Type B evaluation method, taking into account information on accuracy of a coordinate measuring system given with the formula for maximum permissible errors of length measurement and verification test results. A proposal for evaluation of the verification test results is made. A measurement model based on the point-plane distance equation is presented. A detailed analysis of the partial derivatives (sensitivity factors in an uncertainty budget) of the measurement model is presented. The analyses of measurement uncertainty for different geometrical characteristics were conducted using this measurement model. Examples of uncertainty evaluation for geometrical deviations are presented: position of a point related to a datum plane and flatness in the case of convex or concave surfaces. The examples include detailed uncertainty budgets.

    The paper presents a method for estimating the uncertainty of optical coordinate measurement based on the use of information about the geometry and the size of measured object as well as information about the measurement system, i.e. maximum permissible error (MPE) of the machine, selection of a sensor, and also the required measurement accuracy, the number of operators, measurement strategy and external conditions contained in the developed uncertainty database. Estimation of uncertainty is done with the use of uncertainties of measurements of basic geometry elements determined by methods available in the Laboratory of Coordinate Metrology at Cracow University of Technology (LCM CUT) (multi-position, comparative and developed in the LCM CUT method dedicated for non-contact measurements) and then with the use of them to determine the uncertainty of a given measured object. Research presented in this paper are aimed at developing a complete database containing all information needed to estimate the measurement uncertainty of various objects, even of a very complex geometry based on previously performed measurements.

    W artykule zaprezentowano problematykę oceny dokładności pomiarów realizowanych przy zastosowaniu współrzędnościowych systemów pomiarówych. Przedstawiono metody wyznaczania niepewności pomiaru oraz problem relacji pomiędzy dokładnością urządzeń i systemów pomiarowych a dokładnością pomiaru. Opisano też metody wykorzystujące koncepcję moedeli symulacyjnych - wirtualnych maszyn pomiarowych jako skutecznych narzędzi oceny on-line szacowania niepewności pomiarów.
    This article presents the problems of estimating the accuracy of measurements made by using coordinate measuring machines. The methods of estimating the uncertainty of measurements and issues concerning the relation between the accuracy of instruments and measuring systems and the accuracy of measurement are described. Methods based on the concept of simulation models (Virtual Measuring Machines) as effective tools for on-line estimation of measurement uncertainty are also described.

    W referacie przedstawiono problematykę pomiarów wybranych wielkości geometrycznych za pomocą współrzędnościowej maszyny pomiarowej w warunkach produkcyjnych. Przedstawiono przykłady przebiegu procesu pomiarowego, z położeniem nacisku na określenie szczegółowej interpretacji wymagań dotyczących dokładności. Celem referatu jest analiza niektórych czynników powodujących błędy podczas pomiarów współrzędnościowych wielkości geometrycznych. Przedstawiono propozycje uproszczenia strategii pomiarowych w produkcji części maszyn. Podjęto też próbę oceny niepewności wykonanych pomiarów. Referat kończy się wnioskami oraz zadaniami do realizacji w dalszych pracach.
    Some problems connected with measurements of geometrical quantities by the coordinate measuring machine in production conditions are presented in the paper. Examples of measurement processes are shown. Requirements for the accuracy of coordinate measurements are discussed. Overall objective of the paper is to analyze some factors causing measurement errors of geometrical features measured by coordinate measuring machine. The proposals simplify the measurement strategies required in the production of machine parts. In the paper, an attempt of a measurement uncertainty estimation is undertaken. The paper results with several concluding remarks. Some problems for the further researches are pointed out.

    The relationship between Measuring Permissible Errors of measuring machines and accuracy of the measurement is in the article presented, accepting the measure of the accuracy in the calculated form and the assessed uncertainty of measurements. Also simulation methods using virtual measuring machines were discussed.

    The paper presents proposals of algorithms for the control software for measuring arms equipped with the contactless probes (so called „V-probes”) as well as algorithms for bended elements' manufacturing-accuracy evaluation. The working principle of the V-probes is described. The critical analysis of the accuracy requirements specification for the bended elements is carried out. The typical measuring errors sources are pointed out.
    W pracy przedstawiono opracowane algorytmy oprogramowania dla ramion pomiarowych wyposażonych w głowice bezstykowe V, także algorytmy prowadzenia analizy wyników pomiarów rurek powyginanych. Omówiono zasadę działania głowic bezstykowych V. Przeprowadzono krytyczną analizę dokładności wykonania elementów rurkowych. Wskazano typowe źródła błędów pomiaru.
