Opis:: Sixty-six wheat cultivars grown in Belarus, Poland, Russia and the Ukraine were tested for mildew response to a collection of 11 different isolates of Erysiphe graminis DC f. sp. tritici Marchal. Nineteen cultivars have shown a susceptible reaction and eighteen were characterized by susceptible or intermediate responses. Fourteen cultivars revealed isolate-specific response patterns that could be attributed to major known resistance genes or gene combinations. Twelve cultivars have one documented gene: Pm5 in eight cultivars, Pm2 in two cultivars and Pm8 also in two cultivars. One cultivar has two genes (Pm2 + Pm6), while another cultivar carries a combination of three genes (Pm1 + Pm2 + Pm6). Fifteen cultivars were characterized by response patterns not documented so far or by a known resistance response combined with an undocumented resistance. Apparently three cultivars with the T1BL.1RS wheat-rye translocation have a gene suppressing the Pm8 mildew resistance. One cultivar was resistant to all the used isolates. Its resistance might be conditioned by an unknown major gene or combination of genes.

Opis:: Die katholische Kirche als Ganzes war immer ein westlicher christlicher Kultur-träger, auch in Wolhynien. Für diese höchsten Werte bezahlte sie mit totaler Liquidierung der Geistlichkeit, der Gläubigen, der Kirchen und der Friedhöfe. Mit außer-gewöhnlichem Vorbedacht wurde alles zerstört, was den Katholiken heilig war. Aber in unseren Tagen, im Verlauf der letzten Jahre, beobachten wir mit Freude und Hoffnung, wie diese Kirche zu neuem Leben erwacht. Sie ist gewissermaßen vom Tode auferstanden. Der Verfasser der Arbeit Die katholischen Kirchen in Wolhynien hat festgestellt, daß die Verluste der römisch-katholischen Kirche in den Jahren 1939-1996 138 Kirchen (86,2%) und 159 Kapellen (96,4%) betrugen. Ein Teil der Sakralobjekte wurde umgebaut oder verwüstet bzw. wird gegenwärtig von der orthodoxen Kirche und anderen, nichtreligiösen Einrichtungen genutzt. Gegenüber den 370 000 Gläubigen der Diözese Luck im Jahre 1939 bilden die römisch-katholischen Christen heute nicht einmal 10% dieser Zahl.

Opis:: Roztocze i Wyżyna Lubelsko-Lwowska (Wyżyna Wołyńska) są północno-zachodnimi fragmentami Wyżyny Wołyńsko-Podolskiej. Zbudowane są z utworów kredowych, neogeńskich i czwartorzędowych. Zarejestrowano tu 39 geostanowisk, z czego 14 ma status geoochrony. Ponad 60% geostanowisk należy do kategorii geomorfologicznej. W niniejszym artykule 4 stanowiska dziedzictwa geologicznego, Roztocza i Wyżyny Lubelsko-Lwowskiej, proponuje się umieścił na wstępnej liście geostanowisk Europy Środkowej.

Opis:: Pollen and palcopedological studies have been carried out in parallel for the Stari Bezradychy sequence of the Upper Pleistocene age. The paleoenvironmental information derived from both sets of data is in general well correlated. The section presents a rather complete sequence of the last interglacial-glacial cycle. It includes eight units of the Ukrainian Stratigraphical Framework of the Pleistocene. Interglacial climatic optimum is registered by pollen succession of the Mikulino (Ecmian) type in the climax forest palcosols of Pryluky-Kaydaky pedocomplcx at the base of the sequence, above the Dnieper Glacial deposits. The coldest and most continental environment is recorded in the youngest loess. The soils of Upper Pryluky, Yytachiv and Dofinivka units are correlated with the Early Glacial and four Plcniglacial interstadials. Multiple environmental variations during the Upper Pleistocene recorded in the Stari Bezradychy sequence arc important for study of global climatic changes and interregional correlation. Tentative correlation with marine isotopic stages is proposed.

Opis:: The radioecological information system on the base of GIS-technologies is offered. The complex analysis of the radioecological situation on the polluted agricultural territories of Ukrainian Polissya was carried out on the base of the Radiation Control System data during 1996-2000 with using information system, which was elaborated. The system allows selecting the critical territories for implementation of countermeasures for reduction of product radionuclides contamination level. The results of the statistical and spatial analysis of the data about product and soil contamination allowed elaborating the schedule of products monitoring.

Opis:: Intensywny rozwój ukraińskiej szkoły geometrii stosowanej datuje się od 1945 r. Jej głównym twórcą jest prof. S. M. Kołotow (1880 - 1965). Wskazano główne ośrodki badawcze, którymi są: Katedra Geometrii Wykreślnej i Katedra Konstrukcji Architektonicznych Kijowskiego Narodowego Instytutu Budownictwa i Architektury, Kijowski Instytut Politechniczny. Narodowy Instytut Rolnictwa, a także katedry geometrii uczelni politechnicznych: Melitopola, Odessy, Charkowa. Dniepropietrowska. Nikołajewa i Lwowa oraz wybitnych geometrów Ukrainy. Zwrócono uwagę na to, że przed Uniwersytetami Ukrainy stoją dwa ważne zadania w obszarach dyscyplin graficznych: opracowanie nowych podręczników w języku ukraińskim oraz rozwijanie nowych kierunków badań naukowych.
Itensive development of Ukraine School of Applied Geometry began in 1945. Its main creator was Prof. S.M. Kolotow (1880-1965). Main research centers have been mentioned: Department of Descriptive Geometry and Department of Architectural Constructions of Kiev National Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Kiev Polytechnic Institute, National Institute of Agriculture and Departments of Geometry of Polytechnics in such places as Melitopol. Odessa, Charcov, Dniepropetrovsk, Nikolaiev and Lvov and prominent geometry teachers and scientists of Ukraine. It has been stated that University of Ukraine faces two important tasks in the field of graphic subjects: elaboration of new textbooks in Ukrainian and development of new trends in scientific research.
