The purpose of the article is to present the results of analysis regarding the processes of developing and standardizing the norm of punctuation in Poland and in Italy since the beginning of the 20th century to recent times. Aiming to describe the character of the two norms and to explain the differences between the Polish and the Italian rules, the study emphasizes the role of institutions in the codification process. Furthermore, it examines the typology of normative sources in both countries and comments the status of punctuation among other branches of linguistics.

In this paper the authoress refers to examples from the period between the 60s and the beginning of the 90s of the 20th century in Croatia which best illustrate not only the playwriting but also the lethalness of the act through mostly political drama typical of the period in question. At the time, the theatre was more often than not „the only space in which people were allowed to think and talk politically” (B. Senker). The paper discusses the following dramas: Perković’s Closed Afternoon (1966), Šoljan’s Diocletian’s Palace (1969), Kušan’s The End of Freedom (1971), Marović’s Antigona, the Queen of Thebes, and Themistocles (both from the early 1980s), and Brešan’s Julius Caesar (1994; publ. 1997). Dramatic literature and the theatre of these decades did not only reflect the happenings in Croatia within the former Yugoslav state; many of the above and other authors paid for their courage to write these texts with being passed over in silence, and with intellectual, political and existential harassment.

Poetyka rozumiana  jako leksykon zdefiniowanych – ilustrowanych wybranymi przykładami - terminów, opisujących literackie kompozycje,  ich składniki lub   stosunki  między elementami utworu, składa się z pojęć o zasięgu uniwersalnym lub lokalnym, przy czym może to być zarówno lokalność rodzima, jak i obca.  Postrzeganie genezy terminów zmienia się w czasie historycznoliterackim. Podobnie dynamiczny charakter ma „narodowość” i/lub „transnarodowość”, pojmowane jako nacechowanie poetyki dzieła lub zbioru dzieł,  objawiające się  w trzech nie do końca tożsamych i  nie do końca odmiennych porządkach: językowym, kulturowym i etnicznym.  Owe porządki nie tylko wzajem się przenikają, wspierają,  ale i  wchodzą w konflikt.
Poetics understood as a lexicon of terms defined and illustrated by selected examples, describing literary compositions, their components, or relations between elements in a work, consists of concepts universal or local in scope; the local can be native or foreign. Perception of the genesis of terms changes during the course of literary history. “Nationality” or “transnationality,” formulated as a feature of the poetics of a work or aggregate of works, has a similarly dynamic nature, manifesting in three systems which are neither fully identical nor completely distinct: linguistic, cultural, and ethnic. These systems are not only mutually interpenetrating; they also support each other and conflict with each other.

For the Church Fathers the Scriptures constituted more than just Words and they strived to go beyond literal understanding of the text. Therefore, the purpose of this article, which is the second one of a two-part study, is to give a brief explanation of various methods of patristic exegesis and its practical application using as an example the Sacrifice of Isaac in the Book of Genesis.

Der vorliegende Beitrag berichtet über die Rolle von Anspielungen in Artikelüberschriften am Beispiel des deutschen Einwanderungsdiskurses. Im theoretischen Teil werden Anspielungen als ein Phänomen dargestellt, das nicht nur als bloße Manifestation von Intertextualität, sondern vielmehr als kreatives Mittel in einem interaktiven Prozess zwischen Autor/in und Leser/in fungiert. Im empirischen Teil wird anhand konkreter Beispiele eine Typologie erstellt, die Anspielungen nach dem Quellenbereich und nach Art der Bezugnahme auf den Prätext klassifiziert.  
Tematem artykułu jest analiza roli aluzji w debacie dotyczącej imigracji, toczącej się na łamach niemieckich czasopism. W części teoretycznej zostanie przedstawione pojęcie aluzji nie tylko jako oczywiste odniesienie do innego tekstu, ale także jako środek służący zbudowaniu interakcji pomiędzy autorem a czytelnikiem. W części empirycznej, na podstawie konkretnych przykładów, stworzona zostanie typologia, która klasyfikuje aluzję według jej źródła oraz rodzaju odniesienia do tekstu pierwotnego.
This paper examines the use of allusions in article headlines, using the example of the coverage of German immigration. In the theoretical section, allusions are presented as a phenomenon that functions not only as a manifestation of intertextuality, but rather as a creative instrument in an interactive process between the author and the reader. In the empirical section, a typology is created by means of concrete examples, which classifies allusions according to the source range and by way of references to the ‘urtext’. The analysis results are interpreted and conclusions are drawn.

В статье рассматривается творчество оригинального коми поэта, писателя, философа и ученого Серебряного века Каллистрата Жакова. Выявляются направления интеграции им образов и символов мировой, а также и русской культуры с национальным материалом коми фольклора и мифологии. В ранних стихах Жакова выявляются связи с символикой индуистской философии и религии. Отмечается место Жакова в «языческом ренессансе» России начала ХХ в. Выделяется типология героев Жакова, связанная с его историософской космологической моделью и сориентированная, главным образом, на русскую литературу.
The paper presents the creative works by Kallistrat Zhakov – a Komi poet, writer, philosopher, and scholar of the Silver Age. The author investigates the ways in which Zhakov integrated images and symbols belonging to the world culture and Russian culture with the native Komi folklore and mythology. The connections of Zhakov’s earliest poems with the symbols of Hindu philosophy and religion are identified. Zhakov’s place in the Russian “pagan renaissance” of the beginning of the 20th century is indicated. The author reconstructs the typology of Zhakov’s characters which, being connected with his philosophical cosmological model of history, is primarily oriented on Russian literature.

The Grammar Matrix project is a meta-grammar engineering framework expressed in Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG) and Minimal Recursion Semantics (MRS). It automates grammar implementation and is thus a tool and a resource for linguistic hypothesis testing at scale. In this paper, we summarize how the Grammar Matrix grew in the last decade and describe how new additions to the system have made it possible to study interactions between analyses, both monolingually and cross-linguistically, at new levels of complexity.

Opis:
The study intends to fill a gap in the literature on migration destination choice, which focuses on the outcome of a decision process, while largely neglects the very process of arriving at an outcome. Using qualitative material collected during 150 face-to-face interviews with Polish migrants to four EU countries and Australia, this article develops a general typology of decision makers involved in choices of migrant destinations. It applies the concept of bounded rationality to analyse the ways in which these migrants have chosen their host locations and, focusing on their rationality, explores manifestations of its boundedness. It also discusses the issue of information search by destination choice, showing that under relatively low perceived risks associated with migration, the process of knowledge building tends to be based on experience rather than on in-depth research.

Supreme audit institutions (SAIs) as an object for study have attracted primarily researchers from the areas of accounting and audit as well as academics in the fields such as constitutional law, public administration etc. The results are often published as monographs describing one problem concerning some government audits in a specific country. It is rare for SAIs to be studied in a comparative way. This situation can be attributed to relatively less developed conceptual frameworks, including a missing typology on organisation and function for the study of a SAI. Conceptual frameworks are to determine the cognitive structures and the narrative about SAIs. This means that the framework of conception ought to be updated for obtaining an adequate discussion about how to develop and improve SAIs.

This article aimed firstly to delineate the expressive formulas of conversation (FEC) compared to other subtypes of pragmatic phraseology, highlighting their main characteristics. Then, we outline a simple typology of FEC, based on two criteria: discursive and pragmatic. Finally, we propose the translation of a group of FEC while comparing the structure of formulas in French and their equivalence in Arabic.
Cet article vise tout d'abord à délimiter les formules expressives de conversation (FEC) par rapport à d'autres sous-types de phraséologismes pragmatiques, en mettant en évidence leurs principales caractéristiques. Deuxièmement, esquisser une typologie simple de la FEC, basée sur deux critères: discursif et pragmatique. Enfin, proposer la traduction d'un groupe de FEC en comparant la structure des formules en français et leurs équivalents arabes.

Aim/purpose - The paper aims to present a preliminary consumer typology based on the declared nutritional behaviors and selected lifestyle elements of Polish and Slovak consumers. Design/methodology/approach - The research was conducted in the first half of 2019, among non-randomly selected subjects representing their households from Poland and Slovakia. The empirical part of the work is based on the results of research employing a structured standardized interview. Cluster analysis was used in the analysis of the results. Findings - The results of the research showed that the eating behaviors of Polish and Slovak consumers differ. Some Polish and Slovak consumers follow the principles of healthy eating. Among Polish consumers we distinguished four types of consumers: I - "Driven by the principles of healthy eating"; II - "Implementing the principles of healthy eating"; III - "Ordinary bread eaters"; IV - "Consciously unaware." In turn, among Slovak consumers, we distinguished also fourth types: I - "Driven by the principles of healthy eating"; II - "Exercise and drink milk!"; III - "Not attaching importance to healthy eating"; IV - "Eat tastily and healthily." The distinguished types of consumers can be the basis for the food market segmentation. Knowledge of the typology based on declared eating behaviors and selected aspects of the lifestyle may enable food producers to develop an appropriate marketing strategy. Research implications/limitations - A certain limitation may be the non-random sample selection. An important aspect would also be to expand the analyzed research thread with additional aspects related to eating behavior and lifestyle. Another limitation is that the clusters were delivered in two separate processes for Poland and Slovakia, respectively. As a result, the clusters are different and represent two different typologies. Originality/value/contribution - The research may be an important source of information for researchers dealing with consumer typology. The distinguished types of consumers can be the basis for the food market segmentation.

This article revisits, analyzes and critiques Bruce Chatwin’s 1987 bestseller, The Songlines, more than three decades after its publication. In Songlines, the book primarily responsible for his posthumous celebrity, Chatwin set out to explore the essence of Central and Western Desert Aboriginal Australians’ philosophical beliefs. For many readers globally, Songlines is regarded as a-if not the-definitive entry into the epistemological basis, religion, cosmology and lifeways of classical Western and Central Desert Aboriginal people. It is argued that Chatwin’s fuzzy, ill-defined use of the word-concept “songlines” has had the effect of generating more heat than light. Chatwin’s failure to recognize the economic imperative underpinning Australian desert people’s walking praxis is problematic: his own treks through foreign lands were underpropped by socioeconomic privilege. Chatwin’s ethnocentric idée fixe regarding the primacy of “walking” and “nomadism,” central to his Songlines thématique, well and truly preceded his visits to Central Australia. Walking, proclaimed Chatwin, is an elemental part of “Man’s” innate nature. It is argued that this unwavering, preconceived, essentialist belief was a self-serving construal justifying Chatwin’s own “nomadic” adventures of identity. Is it thus reasonable to regard Chatwin as a “rogue author,” an unreliable narrator? And if so, does this matter? Of greatest concern is the book’s continuing majority acceptance as a measured, accurate account of Aboriginal belief systems. With respect to Aboriginal desert people and the barely disguised individuals depicted in Songlines, is Chatwin’s book a “rogue text,” constituting an act of epistemic violence, consistent with Spivak’s usage of that term?

A parallel is drawn between the northernmost regions of England represented by Durham and Yorkshire and the transition zone Ouddeken (2016) identifies between voicing and aspiration languages in the Dutch-German dialect continuum. It is argued that, owing to historical changes and dialect contact, the Northern Englishes discussed exhibit hybrid laryngeal systems as a result of being geographically intermediate between Scots in Scotland, which is a voice language similar to Dutch, and mainstream varieties of English spoken more to the south in England (and in most of the rest of the English-speaking world), which are aspiration systems of the German type. We model the emergence of laryngeal systems as the setting of three parameters: (i) whether the laryngeally marked/specified obstruent series contains [voice] (L-system) or [asp] (H-system); (ii) whether the laryngeal prime is able to spread (right-to-left); and (iii) whether the system has pre-obstruent delaryngealisation (POD) (due to which in C1C2, C1 becomes unmarked/underspecified). While spreading L with POD derives voice languages and non-spreading H with no POD derives aspiration languages, two mixed combinations derive the intermediate categories of Durham and Yorkshire (spreading L & no POD and spreading H & no POD, respectively). We also show that all remaining combinations are attested cross-linguistically or else theoretically uninterpretable.

Opis:
Referring to critical statements that have appeared during the last few years, the author discusses ways of commenting on popular literature penned byfemale authors. One may distinguish five types of comments, 1) Appropriation (Aneksja), employed when a popular novel is included in the socially important literature referring to pressing and alarming problems (e.g. domestic violence). 2) Playing with convention (Gra z konwencją), based on pinpointing both grotesque and ironic elements and, above all, metaliterary signals in popular novels. 3) Adherence to tradition (Zgodnie z tradycją), best represented in the secondary literature, either through a poetologic approach (structural analyses) or approaches inspired by feminist criticism. 4) Exhortation to pay close attention (Dobrze się wschłuchać), focused on the approaches suggested by other fields, e.g. how popular women’s literature is read by sociologists. 5) Focus on emotions and excess (Emocje i zbytek), based on emotional and therapeutic research on the perception styles of popular literature. In this case, one focuses not on popular women’s fiction, but on the way it influences the readers’ emotions.
