    The paper addresses an issue that is usually hardly noticed, but some may have become aware of during the COVID-19 pandemic: There are various situations in which texts justifiably seem to be missing. However, the lack of texts does not necessarily affect all participants of that non-existent communicative situation. What these situations have in common is that there are apparently no texts that fulfill the situational expectations. Nevertheless, it is possible to draw conclusions from the resulting voids. From our point of view, such implicatures should definitely be considered from a text- linguistic perspective, especially if one understands the communicative practice of a society in all its facets as part of an empirically approachable textual reality. Thus, on the basis of selected examples, we will show that under certain circumstances even ‘no texts’ do indeed ‘express’ something which we can infer based on knowledge and experience, on the one hand, depending on the specific reading situation, and on the other hand, in connection with certain socially relevant discourses.

    Proces komunikowania się pomiędzy ludźmi ma decydujące znaczenie dla określenia wszystkich procesów wpływających na zachowanie społeczne. Komunikowanie jest potrzebą wynikającą ze współdziałania nie tylko osób tworzących organizację, ale także całego społeczeństwa. Rozwój nowych technologii, a także nowoczesnej organizacji pracy, wynika z powstawania zarówno nowych przedsiębiorstw, jak i spółek. A zatem wzrasta zapotrzebowanie na pracowników, których cechuje umiejętność dostosowania do zaistniałych wymagań na rynku. Jedną z podstawowych umiejętności niezbędnych do prawidłowego i skutecznego funkcjonowania wszystkich form organizacji jest komunikacja, która determinuje sukces człowieka zarówno w życiu społecznym, jak i zawodowym.
    Communication is the most important and crucial to identify all of the processes influencing social behavior. Communication is the need arising from the interaction of not only people in the organization, but society in general. Development of new technologies and modern work organization result from the development of new enterprises and companies. Therefore, demand for workers, able to adapt to the changing requirements of the market, is increasing. One of the basic skills, needed for appropriate and effective functioning of all types of organization, is communication. It determines man’s success, both in social and professional life.

    The aim of the study was to investigate the communication process between the tourist office and the client. The paper characterizes the basic definitions and selected models of the theory of the communication process. The survey was conducted in the period from February to April 2020, on a group of 76 clients of the selected tourist office. The respondents were selected at random. A study with the use of an interview questionnaire was also conducted. Its purpose was to answer questions about efficient communication between tourist office employees and their clients. The conversation was direct and individual. The satisfaction with the quality of the communication process between the tourist office employee and the client was determined, as well as the prospects for further cooperation. A smoothly running communication process between tourist office employees and the clients is very important. Every effort should be made to minimize the impact of potential barriers, so that both parties can achieve the intended benefits and will be satisfied with such cooperation. Based on the research, the clients were divided into individual groups. Each group consisted of people who share common personal characteristics and a specific approach to service. In the interview, the topic of a “difficult client” was also raised.

    Opis:
    The diversity of language etiquette forms has already been noted by linguists (the author presents the evolution of the way it has been defined in their works). However, this issue does not appear very often in the works of scholars. The article aims at presenting several different types of politeness that have been defined on the basis of various different criteria. For example the substance of expression, which involves d istinguishing between two types of politeness: one expressed in language and the other expressed by non-linguistic means. Another criterion refers to social commonness and according to this criterion we can distinguish between elementary politeness, courtesy and formal etiquette. Diversity of language etiquette can be regarded as resulting form the pragmatic features of a speaker. Culture-based differentiation enables us to talk about ‘traditional’ and ‘new’ politeness. According to the author, teaching different types of language etiquette is an important part of teaching Polish as a foreign language.

    The purpose of this study (based on the analysis and discussion of cases of erroneous use of words monografia / monograph, autentykacja/authentication, kolaboracja/collaboration, pamflet/pamphlet, stary druk/alter Druck, Frühdruck/old print, old book) was to outline the problem of term equivalence resulting from unintentional linguistic interference (loanwords, tautonymy, anisomorphy, calques) in the communication of various members of the scientific community (authors, translators, editors and proofreaders). Multilingual dictionaries, noting only the equivalents without indicating their meaning or examples of their use, not only do not protect against committing such errors, but can also be their source. The study resulted in a concept of a multilingual encyclopaedic dictionary, which, by preventing the incorrect equivalence of terms in the field of document types, will help in formulating correct oral and written presentations, descriptions of documents used in information resources, their correct translation and building search tools on their basis – in particular, bibliographic databases and digital libraries, where they are used as a search or selection criteria for materials.

    Starting with the definition of style by K.A. Dolinin, the article proposes to reflect on the perspectives of an interdisciplinary approach to stylistic research, using primarily the achievements of psychology and philosophy, as the style of a literary work is the result of the subject’s choices, which in turn result from his/her individual way of thinking. The interdisciplinary approach will also allow for more effective aesthetic assessment of the work. The article analyses three literary texts based on memories: The childhood years of Bagrov-grandson, serving as a continuation of the Family Chronicle by S.T. Aksakov, The Life of Arsenyev by I.A. Bunin and Be Like Children by V.A. Sharov. On the example of language constructions forming the concept of MEMORY, the researcher shows the factors that influence the choice of language means that ultimately create the individual style of the author. The study proves that this choice is influenced by non-linguistic factors: the situational context, era, the author’s professional and personal experience and education, philosophicaland aesthetic ideas, and other important circumstances that guide the artist’s thinking. Genre rules and current tastes are also of importance. The study shows that the ratio of the number of language constructions regarding experience memory and information memory can characterize the individual style of a given author. It also proves that a broader interdisciplinary view of style allows to see more determinants of the aesthetic value of a work. Among them are: the harmonious structure of the text including its spatial and temporal organization, and the compliance with the broadly understood norm that involves not only the linguistic but also the mental layer of the text, as expressed by appropriately selected means.

    The publication presents issues related to the results of research on the use by disabled persons of e-government systems. The aim of the publication is to determine what advantages of using e-government are perceived by disabled people using the services of the Katowice municipal office and what means of communication they most often use in contact with the office. The study intended also to determine whether and how the type of disability affects the researched issues.

    Artykuł omawia osobliwości anglojęzycznej, profesjonalnie zorien-towanej komunikacji specjalistów IT. W ramach głównych sytuacji komunikowa-nia się na tym polu (korespondencja biznesowa, korespondencja z kolegami i me-nedżerami) można zaobserwować następujące funkcje komunikacyjne: kontaktu, informacyjną, wywołującą, poznawczą, emocjonalną, wpływającą i poprawiającą. Z kolei gatunki pisanej angielszczyzny w tym zakresie obejmują: prywatną i biz-nesową korespondencję e-mailową, teksty na czatach i forach, komunikaty na tablicach ogłoszeń, notatki i raporty. Główne rodzaje tej komunikacji to: komu-nikacja nieformalna (komunikacja z kolegami), komunikacja półformalna i for-malna (komunikacja z dostawcami, klientami, szefami), komunikacja analityczna i profesjonalna (raporty). Każdy rodzaj omawianej komunikacji ma swoistą cechę stylistyczną, dotyczącą głównie reprezentacji leksykalnej i gramatycznej.
    The article reveals the peculiarities of written English professionally oriented communication of IT specialists. In the framework of the main situ-ations of written English professionally oriented communication (business cor-respondence, correspondence with colleagues and managers) the functions of the communication realize: contact, information, inducing, cognitive, emotive, influencing ones and fence-mending. The genres of written English professio-nally oriented communication of IT specialists include: private and business e-mail correspondence, texting in chats and forums, posting on net announ-cement boards, memo, and reports. The main types of this communication are formal (communication with colleagues), semi-formal and formal communica-tion (communication with suppliers, clients, managers), analytical and scientific communication (reports). Each type of communication has its peculiar stylistic feature concerning lexical and grammatical presentation.

They nominate new phenomena of reality and function actively in Belarusian technical terminology. As the analysis shows they have not been examined and systematized yet.
