Variation of solar bursts due to solar flares such as type an isolated type III , a complex type III, U is being highlighted. These bursts occurred on 9th March 2012 at the National Space Centre, Sg. Lang, Selangor, Malaysia Here, we study a unique case with a combination of two types burst associated with solar flare and CMEs. Our observation is focused on the low frequency region starting from 150 MHz till 400 MHz. We found that a solar flare type solar flare type M 6.3 which occurred in active region AR 1429 starting from 3:32 UT and ending at 05:00 UT. The flare has been confirmed to be the largest flare since 2005. Some physical parameters will be measured. We then compared our results with X-ray data from NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre (SWPC).

Opis:
A detailed investigation of an inverted type U solar burst in meter region and their associated the solar flare and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) has been reported. Solar type U burst has been observed at the National Space Centre, Banting, Selangor detected by the Compound Low Cost Low Frequency Transportable Observatories (CALLISTO) system in the 150 MHz till 400 MHz at the low frequency band. An inverted U type is occurring on 9th March 2012 between 4:00 UT to 4:15 UT within 1 minute (4:12 − 4:13) UT. From the dynamic spectra of CALLISTO, we have identified metric type U burst with maximum emission near the frequency 385MHz. In specific, the continuum type III burst will soon structure this burst due to our observations. Other types such as type II and IV are only appearing only after type U burst is ejected and appear at the same point of the solar flare event. Since the U burst activity coincides with the peak of the hard X-ray flare at 4:12UT in AR1429, we classified that the event is associated with the injection of the high energetic particles. In conclusion, it is confirmed that an inverted type U burst is initiated after a complex and a group solar radio burst type III.

Opis:
One of the main reasons to study more about the dynamics of solar radio bursts is because solar these bursts can interfere with the Global Positioning System (GPS) and communications systems. More importantly, these bursts are a key to understand the space weather condition. Recent work on the interpretation of the low frequency region of a main solar burst is discussed. Continuum radio bursts are often related to the solar activities such as an indication of the formation of sunspot, impulsive phase of solar flares and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) and their frequencies correspond to the densities supposed to exist in the primary energy release volume. Specifically, solar burst in low frequency play an important role in interpretation of Sun activities. In this work, we have selected few solar bursts that successfully detected by our station at the National Space Centre, Banting Selangor. Our objective is to correlate the solar burst with Sun activities by looking at the main sources that responsibility with the trigger of solar burst. It is found that type II burst is dominant with Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), type III burst associated with solar flare, IV burst with the formation of active region and type U burst high solar flare. We believed that this work is a good start to monitor Sun’s activities in Malaysia as equatorial country.

Opis:
The magnetic properties of the U-type ferrite synthesized by a sol-gel process had studied by substituting cobalt with manganese or zinc in cobalt-based U-type ferrite. The substituted U-type ferrite showed a dominant crystal structure at a different substitution ratio of manganese and zinc. The change of the starting temperature of U-type ferrite formation according to substitutional elements was confirmed by TG-DTA analysis. In the case of manganese substitution, the starting temperature of U-type ferrite formation lowered, and on the contrary, when zinc was substituted, it became higher. The magnetic properties of the U-type ferrite substituted with manganese showed a tendency that the saturation magnetization was decreased and the coercivity was increased as the manganese ratio increased. The highest saturation magnetization was 57.9 emu/g in the specific composition (Ba4Co0.5Zn1.5Fe36O60) substituted with zinc.

Opis:
U-type ferrite typified by Ba4Co2Fe36O60 is used as a RAM (Radar Absorbing Materials) in the X-band (8-12 GHz). Ba4Co2Fe36O60 is known to have a complex crystal structure, which makes it difficult to obtain single phase and have low reproducibility. Previously known U-type ferrites have been fabricated based on a ceramic process that mixing (by a ball mill), calcining, grinding, binder mixing, drying, sieving, pressing and sintering. In contrast, the process of preparing the powder by the sol-gel method and its heat-treating is advantageous in that it can reduce the process steps and the required time. In addition, the precise stoichiometric control by the sol-gel method can effectively evaluate the effect of added or substituted elements. In this study investigates the crystal structure of Ba4Co2Fe36O60 synthesized by the sol-gel method and the morphology of U-type ferrite nano-powders according to various heat treatment conditions. Analysis of the crystal structure is used for XRD. Morphology and size are observed by SEM. In addition, VSM is performed to confirm the change of magnetic properties according to various heat treatment conditions.

Opis:
The U-type ferrite is a kind of hexagonal ferrite, and it is known as a microwave absorber in the X-band. The magnetic and dielectric loss of the U-type ferrite change to the composition and coating layer, etc. In this study, the silicon oxide layer was coated on the substituted U-type ferrites to improve microwave absorption characteristics. The complex permittivity and complex permeability were measured using toroidal specimens that were press-molded and the measured frequency range was set from 2-18 GHz. The improvement of the microwave absorption rate was different according to the type of the substituted U-type ferrites. Only in the substituted U-type ferrites with nickel and zinc, an improvement in the microwave absorption rate due to enhancement of magnetic loss was confirmed. The highest microwave absorption was 99.9% at 9.6 GHz, which was S_Z0.5 U.

Opis:
The paper discusses the results of the numerical simulation of a sudden outflow of the air-methane mixture from behind a powered support, for a longwall ventilated by means of the U-type ventilation system. The calculations were performed using the geometrical model of an actual longwall - the I 100 longwall at the „Sośnica” hard coal mine. The steady state of the air flow in the area of the upper corner was discussed, together with the phenomenon of methane seepage from the goaf area in the vicinity of the longwall outlet. Subsequently, the phenomenon of a sudden methane outflow - followed by the ventilation of headings - was introduced into the study. The obtained results confirm the knowledge provided by the mining practice and experience.

Opis:
The paper presents a neutronic analysis of the battery-type 20 MWth high-temperature gas cooled reactor. The developed reactor model is based on the publicly available data being an ‘early design’ variant of the U-battery. The investigated core is a battery type small modular reactor, graphite moderated, uranium fueled, prismatic, helium cooled high-temperature gas cooled reactor with graphite reflector. The two core alternative designs were investigated. The first has a central reflector and 30×4 prismatic fuel blocks and the second has no central reflector and 37×4 blocks. The SERPENT Monte Carlo reactor physics computer code, with ENDF and JEFF nuclear data libraries, was applied. Several nuclear design static criticality calculations were performed and compared with available reference results. The analysis covered the single assembly models and full core simulations for two geometry models: homogenous and heterogenous (explicit). A sensitivity analysis of the reflector graphite density was performed. An acceptable agreement between calculations and reference design was obtained. All calculations were performed for the fresh core state.

Opis:
Head trauma is leading cause of mortality after injuries related with skiing and snowboarding in children. Wearing a helmet is considered to minimize consequences of trauma, nevertheless there are opponents of helmet usage. Non-wearers often claim that helmet can increase injury risk by reducing skier’s hearing. The aim of the study was to determine if wearing a helmet that covers child’s ears may decrease motor coordination and increase injury risk. 36 healthy children aged 8,5 to 11 years, with no balance disturbances, history of head trauma, and other ailments that may influence on study outcome. Participants were asked to walk between two lines on 10 m. distance in imposed time. They were looking at a point at the end of the route. Each child accomplished the test with and without a helmet. Every loss of balance or step beyond the line was treated as mistake and counted. The number of mistakes made while wearing and not wearing a helmet was compared. Helmet used in a study had proper size and was covering child’s ears completely. In 84%, number of mistakes made while wearing a helmet did not change or diminished when compared with test conducted without helmet. In 16% cases it increased in comparison with bare head. Oldest children made less mistakes while wearing as well as not wearing a helmet. We conclude that attenuation of hearing may be connected with wearing particular types of helmets. Proper helmet should cover child’s skull including whole calvaria and skull base, but avoiding audition impairment is highly recommended.
36 zdrowych dzieci w wieku 8,5 do 11 lat zostało zbadanych w próbie zaburzeń koordynacji wzrokowo-ruchowej z i bez użycia kasku. Każde dziecko miało przejść dystans 10 metrów wyznaczony dwoma białymi liniami o szerokości jazdy na nartach, koncentrując uwagę na białym punkcie umieszczonym na ścianie na wysokości wzroku. W 84% liczba błędnego przejścia (wychodzenia poza trasę) wystąpiło w najmłodszej grupie wiekowej, w grupie starszej (11 lat) w 16%. Pełny kask narciarski, zasłaniający uszy powoduje zaburzenia koordynacji wzrokowo-ruchowej u młodszych dzieci i znacząco maleje w grupie dzieci starszych.
