Trust plays an important role in human life environments. That is why the researchers has been focusing on it for a long time. It allows us to delegate tasks and decisions to an appropriate person. In social sciences trust between humans was studied, but it also was analyzed in economic transactions. A lot of computer scientists from different areas, like security, semantic web, electronic commerce, social networks tried to transfer this concept to their domains. Trust is an essential factor in any kind of network, whether social or computer. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are characterized by severely constrained resources, they have limited power supplies, low transmission bandwidth, small memory sizes and limited energy, therefore security techniques used in traditional wired networks cannot be adopted directly. Some effort has been expended in this fields, but the concept of trust is defined in slightly different ways by different researchers. In this paper we will show how the family of Role-based Trust management languages (RT) can be used in WSN. RT is used for representing security policies and credentials in decentralized, distributed access control systems. A credential provides information about the privileges of users and the security policies issued by one or more trusted authorities.

In the era of globalization, state and public organizations must be effective. One of the conditions of this effectiveness is the creation of intra-organizational trust. The author identifies factors, that affect this trust, and formulates a definition of public trust and intra-organizational trust. It was stated among others, that public trust to the organization can be reduced due to lower lever of intra-organization trust. It was also stated, that staff willingness to remain in the organization does not depend only on job satisfaction. A lack of willingness to sharing by employees the knowledge and skills with others can be considered as an indicator of the level of intra-organizational trust. A high staff fluctuation can be considered as an indicator of a lack of trust in the organization.

Online auctions have become a big business and the number of auction site users is growing rapidly. These virtual marketplaces give traders a lot of opportunities to find a contracting party. However, lack of physical contact between users decreases the degree of trust. Auction portals require an efficient mechanism for building trust between participants, whereas most of them provide simple participation counts for reputation rating. Moreover, a single opinion has virtually no effect on a big online store that already has many reputation points, so buyers are very hesitant to give negative feedback for fear of retaliation. Consequently, almost no negative feedback is provided1. In this paper we introduce a new trust system called Asymptotic Trust Algorithm (ATA) which prevents many fraud attempts and still is both simple and easy to understand for most users. Our new method can be applied in addition to the participation counts systems currently used by Allegro, eBay and most of other online auction sites because it does not require any additional information other than positive, negative or neutral feedback on transactions. Most importantly, ATA encourages users to submit unbiased comments, regardless of the number of previous transactions.

The issue of trust is becoming increasingly important in the context of the organization's management. The increase in its importance stems from the fact that it affects, in a special way, the quality of teamwork and leadership, which in turn has a positive impact on financial results of the organization. To make managing the trust successful, key issues should be analyzed in terms of their impact on the process of building this valuable strategic resource. This article is descriptive and contains root cause analysis. The article presents the interpretative approach to the concept of trust in organization management. In order to understand the essence of trust, a few definitions are presented. The last part of the article is devoted to consideration of various factors analyzed in terms of their importance to the trust management practices.

Opis:
The data aggregation process of wireless sensor networks faces serious security problems. In order to defend the internal attacks launched by captured nodes and ensure the reliability of data aggregation, a secure data aggregation mechanism based on constrained supervision is proposed for wireless sensor network, which uses the advanced LEACH clustering method to select cluster heads. Then the cluster heads supervise the behaviors of cluster members and evaluate the trust values of nodes according to the communication behavior, data quality and residual energy. Then the node with the highest trust value is selected as the supervisor node to audit the cluster head and reject nodes with low trust values. Results show that the proposed mechanism can effectively identify the unreliable nodes, guarantee the system security and prolong the network life time.

The purpose of this study was to propose a theoretical model and empirically measure whether trust impacts organizational performance. This study focused on three constructs: management trust (MT); organizational trust (OT); and organizational performance (OP). Specifically, the results of this study determined whether management trust (MT) significantly and positively contributes to organizational trust (OT) and whether organizational trust (OT) significantly and positively contributes to organizational performance (OP). Turbulentność środowiska biznesowego sprawia, że wyzwaniem współczesnych organizacji staje się umiejętność identyfikowania, odkrywania i eksploatacji możliwości biznesowych. Pojęcie to jest usytuowane na pograniczu kreatywności, innowacyjności i przedsiębiorczości, ale jest również kluczowym elementem orientacji marketingowej. Celem artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy i w jakim stopniu zachodzi związek pomiędzy zdolnością organizacji do odkrywania i eksploatacji możliwości biznesowych, a orientacją rynkową. Uzyskane wyniki dały podstawę do stwierdzenia, że trudno jest jednoznacznie wykluczyć taki związek.
Turbulent changes in the business environment are a challenge for organizations in terms of identification, exploration and exploitation of their business opportunities. Not only does this concept cover creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, but also it is a key element of marketing orientation. This article aims to answer the question whether and to what extent exists a relationship between the ability of the organization to explore and exploit business opportunities vs. its market orientation. The initial results show that such a connection cannot be rejected.

The paper presents a set of concepts which can establish a basis for the creation of new evaluation model of trust and reputation management systems (TRM). The presented approach takes into account essential characteristics of such systems to provide an assessment of its robustness. The model also specifies measures of effectiveness of trust and reputation systems. There is still a need to create a comprehensive evaluation model of attacks on trust and reputation management systems and evaluation model of TRM systems itself, which could facilitate establishing a framework to deeply evaluate the security of existing TRM systems. We believe that this paper could be perceived as a small step forward towards this goal.

The family of Role-based Trust management languages is used for representing security policies by defining a formalism, which uses credentials to handle trust in decentralized, distributed access control systems. A credential provides information about the privileges of users and the security policies issued by one or more trusted authorities. The main topic of this paper is RT⊖, a language which provides a carefully controlled form of non-monotonicity. The core part of the paper defines two different semantics of RT⊖ language – a relational, set-theoretic semantics for the language, and an inference system, which is a kind of operational semantics. The set-theoretic semantics maps roles to a set of entity names. In the operational semantics credentials can be derived from an initial set of credentials using a set of inference rules. The soundness and the completeness of the inference system with respect to the set-theoretic semantics of RT⊖ will be proven.

Zaufanie jako zasób systemu ochrony zdrowia wymaga uwagi i poznania naukowego. Stąd celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba identyfikacji istoty zaufania systemowego w polskiej ochronie zdrowia poprzez ocenę jego determinant z perspektywy usługobiorcy, czyli pacjenta. Wyniki badania pozwoliły stwierdzić, że główną determinantą zaufania do systemu opieki zdrowotnej jest zaufanie do metod leczenia. Nieco mniej istotnymi, lecz również kształtującymi poziom tego zaufania, są stereotypy związane z profesją lekarza oraz medialny wizerunek systemu.
Trust as a system asset needs attention and scientific recognition. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the core of public trust in Polish health care. It has been performed by assessing the determinants of trust from patient’s point of view. The research results let us conclude that the most important determinant of public trust is the trust to the treatment. Stereotypes associated with medical profession and media image proved to be less important factors, that shape the level of public trust.

Rezultatami zarządzania w jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego powinny być: wysoki standard realizacji zadań publicznych i jednocześnie umacnianie zasad demokracji obywatelskiej. Z perspektywy zarządzania publicznego w warunkach społecznej partycypacji w realizacji zadań publicznych istotnego znaczenia nabiera zasada kreowania zaufania publicznego, nie tylko po-przez zapewnienie dostępności i rzetelności, ale także zrozumiałości informacji. Budowaniu zaufania służy także wspieranie kontroli społecznej przez jednostki samorządu terytorialnego.
Nowadays public tasks are implemented not only by public organizations but also by non-governmental actors, including public-private partnerships. Under such conditions, the proper execution of tasks by local public organizations, which includes among other things gathering resources, requires cooperation and coordination of different activities with other stakeholders. It should enable the achievement of organizational needs at the right time and the better achievement of objectives. The result of the management of local public organizations should ensure a high standard of public tasks performed in the public interest and at the same time enhance the principles of democracy. Based on literature studies and research work, this article is to determine the principles of public management in the conditions of social participation in the implementation of public tasks. The author claims that creating public trust is crucial from the perspective of participatory governance. It can be achieved not only by ensuring the availability and reliability, but also the clarity of information. Supporting the development of social control, public organizations also create public trust. Trust should be included in both the sine qua non condition of action, as well as the results of operations. The level of stakeholder confidence to the local public organization should be considered as an assessment of organizational reputation, which becomes its value, and strengthens the position of the organization in its changing environment.

Trust is the foundation and stimulus for every activity in the organization, it gives a sense of security and allows you to quickly react to changes in the environment. In enterprises, actions are taken that may lead to the risk or uncertainty. Projects are often more at risk than routine activities of an organization. The article presents the essence of the trust, its impact on the functioning of the organization in today's world and the activity related to the risks and uncertainties in projects.

Zaufanie odgrywa niezwykle istotną rolę w naszym codziennym życiu. W praktyce większość podejmowanych przez nas decyzji oraz działań jest uwarunkowana poziomem zaufania bądź też – w niektórych sytuacjach – jego brakiem. Samo zaufanie jest natomiast w głównej mierze zależne od kontekstu. Oba te elementy odgrywają także coraz ważniejszą rolę w sferze technologii i systemów komputerowych, zwłaszcza tych, które posiadają pewien poziom autonomii. Doskonałym przykładem wpływu kontekstu na poziom zaufania są systemy wieloagentowe. W społeczności agentów programowych mechanizmy i modele związane z zaufaniem odgrywają istotną rolę, a kontekst może wywierać wpływ na poziom wzajemnego zaufania agentów. Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie roli kontekstu w społecznościach agentów
Trust plays an significant role in our daily lives. In practice, most of our decisions and actions are conditioned by the level of trust or – in some cases, the lack of it. Trust itself, dependent’s largely on the context. Both of these elements also play an increasingly important role in the field of technology and computer systems, especially those that have a certain level of autonomy. An excellent example of the impact of context on the level of trust are multi-agent systems. In a community of software agents, mechanisms and models connected with trust play a central role in which context is a crucial element in the level of mutual trust between agents. The purpose of this paper is to present the role of context in multi-agent systems, with particular emphasis on aspects related to trust management models in this type of environment.

The paper is focused on nonmonotonicity in trust management models which provide access control mechanisms for distributed systems. The work explains what decentralised systems are, defines a notion of security model nonmonotonicity, presents its types and points out factors that causes trust management model to become nonmonotonic. A result of this analysis is a model for credential revocation in the RT Framework trust management model. When security model allows for credential revocation, it becomes nonmonotonic. Presented model allows to turn it to be temporally monotonic. It allows policy authors to define constraints for roles, and applies those values to credentials. When credential does not comply to defined requirements, it is disregarded. A model is evaluated against sample scenario, which demonstrates how it can be applied to real-life use cases.

Most of the traditional access control models, like mandatory, discretionary and role based access control make authorization decisions based on the identity, or the role of the requester, who must be known to the resource owner. Thus, they may be suitable for centralized systems but not for decentralized environments, where the requester and service provider or resource owner are often unknown to each other. To overcome the shortcomings of traditional access control models, trust management models have been presented. The topic of this paper is three different semantics (set-theoretic, operational, and logic- programming) of RTT , language from the family of role-based trust management languages (RT). RT is used for representing security policies and credentials in decentralized, distributed access control systems. A credential provides information about the privileges of users and the security policies issued by one or more trusted authorities. The set-theoretic semantics maps roles to a set of sets of entity names. Members of such a set must cooperate in order to satisfy the role. In the case of logic-programming semantics, the credentials are translated into a logic program. In the operational semantics the credentials can be established using a simple set of inference rules. It turns out to be fundamental mainly in large- scale distributed systems, where users have only partial view of their execution context. The core part of this paper is the introduction of time validity constraints to show how that can make RTT language more realistic. The new language, named RTT+ takes time validity constraints into account. The semantics for RTT+ language will also be shown. Inference system will be introduced not just for specific moment but also for time intervals. It will evaluate maximal time validity, when it is possible to derive the credential from the set of available credentials. The soundness and completeness of the inference systems with the time validity constraints with respect to the set-theoretic semantics of RTT+ will be proven.
