    The food industry is characterized by specific technical and technological conditions. The sanitary and epidemiological considerations play a very important role as well, and the materials used in production must meet the appropriate requirements. In the case of transport operations, the above-mentioned criteria must also be met. The article presents the problems of transporting beverages in aluminum can packaging using a plate conveyor. Depending on the efficiency of the production machines, the type of material (product packaging), the location of the center of gravity and the angle of friction, the parameters of the conveyor operation were determined.

    Artykuł przedstawia przebieg badań i wyniki projektu realizowanego we współpracy z jednym z przedsiębiorstw działających w branży farmaceutycznej w Polsce. Celem projektu jest wyznaczenie optymalnej liczby opakowań wielokrotnego użycia. Badania prowadzone są na terenie dwupiętrowej hali, gdzie produkowane są różnego rodzaju tabletki. W badanym obszarze przedsiębiorstwa do przechowywania i transportu surowców wykorzystywana jest beczka. Gabaryty beczek, ich wysoka cena, a przede wszystkim konieczność spełnienia wymagań branżowych dotyczących bezpieczeństwa przechowywanego i przemieszczanego surowca powodują szereg problemów zarówno dla pracowników kierujących tym obszarem firmy, jak i dla pracowników operacyjnych. Dotychczasowe problemy, a także planowane zwiększenie produkcji generują potrzebę zbudowania narzędzia, które pozwoli na wyznaczenie optymalnej, dla prawidłowego przebiegu procesu, liczby beczek. Narzędziem opisanym w niniejszym artykule jest model symulacyjny zbudowany z wykorzystaniem oprogramowania symulacyjnego FlexSim.
    The article presents the course of research and the results of the project carried out in cooperation with one of the companies operating in the pharmaceutical industry in Poland. The goal of the project is to determine the optimal number of reusable packaging. The research is conducted on the wall of a two-storey hall, where various types of tablets are produced. In the studied area of the enterprise, a barrel is used to store and transport raw materials. The dimensions of barrels, their high price, and above all the need to meet industry requirements regarding the security of stored and transported raw material cause a number of problems for both employees managing this area of the company, as well as for operational employees. The problems to date and the planned increase in production generate the need to build a tool that will allow to determine the optimal number of barrels for the correct course of the process. The tool described in this article is a simulation model built using FlexSim simulation software.

    Electronic systems are very important part of the automotive industry. Electronic products have high reliability due to the critical functions performed by some of the modern modules. Cyclic mechanical load and vibration are main of the conditions, that the electronic modules are subjected during the transport. In this paper, the main incompatibilities in the internal transport processes of soldering of selected elements for automotive company are presented. The main purpose of the article is to identify the causes of these nonconformities. The source of the cause of nonconformity was determined by means of quality tools and methods: 5 WHY analysis or modified p-FMEA analysis. The results obtained from the presented investigations enable the elaboration solutions for the transport process inside the analyzed company. The presented solutions are the result of eliminating or limiting the amount of nonconformities in the analyzed process. The important expectations of solutions are presented. The proposed solutions are the result of eliminating or limiting the amount of non-conformities in the analyzed process on the soldering line.

    At present a supply chain poses quite a challenge. The paper presents one the methods supporting decision makers in a supply chain, namely a Markov chain of kth row. This theory constitutes an important part of the law of probability and it is also associated with soft calculation methods e.g. fuzzy sets. It may be applied in numerous fields e.g. physics, genetics, meteorology and technical disciplines. The Markov chain method may be used when assumptions about independence of events and random variables cannot be made. Thanks to this method social-economic phenomena may be predicted. These characteristics made the author attempt to create a model based on the Markov chains of kth row in a supply chain. The focus was on sales planning accounting for safety stocks planning and various characteristic of this supply chain.

    The paper presents the problem of dynamic criterion of stability loss of industrial hall with internal transport. The analysis was performed with finite element method. As a result of the calculation the relationship of eigenfrequency and axial compressive force was presented. On the basis of these results fundamental recommendations formulated for designers of steel halls with internal transport.
    W referacie przedstawiono zagadnienie dynamicznej utraty stateczności hali stalowej z transportem wewnętrznym. Analizę przeprowadzono metodą elementów skończonych. Jako wynik obliczeń przedstawiono zależność częstości drgań własnych konstrukcji od siły ściskającej w słupach konstrukcji. Na podstawie wyników analizy sformułowano podstawowe zalecenia dla projektantów konstrukcji hal stalowych z transportem wewnętrznym.

    The paper presents proposition of using genetic algorithm to support organization of internal transport processes in logistics facilities. The organization of internal transport can be done through solving optimization task of scheduling internal transport process with allocation of human resources and equipment to the tasks. Internal transport process was defined and discussed as an object of organization. Precise methods of solving proposed optimization task were unable to give useful solutions according to the computational complexity of the problem, so heuristic genetic algorithm was proposed. The possible structures of chromosome representing feasible solutions, methods of generating initial population, base genetic operators: selection and inheritance, crossover, mutation and fixing of individuals were described. The main implementation difficulties, computational experiments and the scope of application of the algorithm were discussed.

    Celem artykułu jest prezentacja modelu matematycznego pozwalającego na wybór polityki flotowej w odniesieniu do wózków widłowych. Jako podstawę rozważań przyjęto analizę make or buy, pozwalającą na ustalenie, czy flota wózków ma być flotą własną (kupioną, leasingowaną, kredytowaną), czy obcą (wynajętą krótko- lub długoterminowo). Problem make or buy zostaje w artykule rozszerzony do postaci make and buy, a więc do rozwiązań mieszanych, złożonych po części z floty własnej, po części z obcej. Całość przedstawiono z uwzględnieniem całkowitych, rocznych kosztów eksploatacji wózków widłowych w przedsiębiorstwie, w tym kosztów specyficznych dla wynajmu wózków widłowych, a więc czynszu, który stanowi koszt stały. Zaproponowany w artykule kompleksowy model matematyczny pozwala precyzyjnie oszacować wskazane koszty. Rozważania uzupełniono dokładnym przykładem obliczeniowym, pokazującym zastosowanie proponowanego modelu dla rzeczywistych danych oraz szczegółowymi i konkretnymi wnioskami dotyczącymi wyboru polityki flotowej dla wózków widłowych.
    The aim of the paper is to present the mathematical model for the selection of the fleet acquisition strategy considering forklifts. The basis for the presented considerations constitutes the Make or Buy analysis, allowing for a decision if it should be a company's own, in-house fleet (bought, leased, credited), or outside one (short- or long-term rented). The discussed Make or Buy problem is extended in the paper to its Make and Buy version that takes into account mixed solutions, i.e. fleets composed of company's own and outside forklifts at the same time. All the above taking into account a total, annual fleet exploitation costs, including components specific for forklifts rental, where rental fees constitute fixed costs. The comprehensive mathematical model presented in the paper allows for the precise calculation of the indicated total, annual fleet exploitation costs. The paper is completed with a broad and detailed computational experiment presenting practical application of the model using a real-life input data. The detailed and precise conclusions concerning the selection of a forklift fleet acquisition strategy are drown as well.

    The transport is an important part of logistic systems. Improper management of transport operations may contribute to the low level of the usage of vehicles and to high transport costs, as well as to the formation of unnecessary high inventory at each location of storage, as well as prolonged time of order realization and not full use of company capacity. It is therefore important the appropriate dimensioning, planning of the transport system and performed transport operations so as to allow the supply of certain goods at the right time and the amount to the appropriate points of the system. The article presents the methods of transport operations modelling, taking into account different criteria based on discrete event simulation. In the article the case study of modelling transport operations in the small cross-docking centre is also presented.

    W pracy zaproponowano modele układów napędowych układnicy magazynowej. Na ich podstawie przeprowadzono badania symulacyjne energochłonności układnicy w zadanym wzorcowym cyklu pracy. Wzorcowy cykl pracy układnicy uwzględniał 10 losowo rozłożonych lokalizacji gniazd regałowych, które układnica obsługiwała w trybie zatowarowania oraz w trybie kompletacji. Celem tych badań było określenie zużycia energii oraz umożliwienie porównywania efektywności urządzeń pochodzących od różnych dostawców. Wyniki symulacji wykazały zdecydowanie różne zużycie energii z zależności od trybu pracy układnicy. Są one inspiracją do doskonalenia modeli obliczeniowych i metody oceny różnych urządzeń.
    The study proposes models of the drive systems of the warehouse stacker crane. On their basis, simulation tests of the energy consumption of the stacker crane were carried out in a given model work cycle. The model work cycle of the stacker crane took into account 10 randomly distributed locations of the rack nests that were operated by the stacker crane in the stockpicking mode and in the picking mode. The aim of these studies was to determine energy consumption and to enable an effeciveness comparison of devices from different suppliers. The simulation results showed significantly different energy consumption depending on the operating mode of the stacker crane. They inspire improvement of computational models and evaluation methods for various devices.

    W artykule podjęto problematykę wdrażania nowych rozwiązań technologicznych w dziedzinie automatyzacji w zakładach produkcyjnych. Sporządzono prognozę możliwych kierunków rozwoju robotyzacji oraz wyszczególniono najczęściej stosowane metody. Rozwinięto kwestię transportu wewnętrznego w przestrzeniach magazynowych. Opisano wpływ mobilnych robotów na zmiany organizacji pracy w zakładach produkcyjnych. Przybliżono jedno z możliwych rodzaju trans portu wewnątrzzakładowego, z uwzględnieniem jego mocnych i słabych stron. Celem artykułu była analiza porównawcza zastosowania automatyzowanego systemu transportu wewnętrznego oraz tradycyjnego oraz kalkulacja korzyści wynikających z minimalizacji kosztów energii i płac.
    The article presents the problem of introducing a new, technological solutions in the field of automation in production plants. The prediction of possible direction of robotization’s development were made in the project and the most commonly used methods were detailed. Theme of a works transport in the warehouse’s areas was built up. In the article is described influence of a mobile robots on changes in a system of work production companies. There is also highlighted one of possible mean of in-company transport, with counting its weaknesses and assets. The main aim of the article was a comparative analysis of using a robotize and traditional system of in-company transport and the estimate of benefits, which are results from minimization costs of the energy and salaries.

    As a result of joining the European Union and expanding the market, polish traders were forced to reevaluate their approach towards directing production. Strong competition extorted an increase in modernizing machinery as well as forced changes in the system of directing production. This article contains a proposition of the spectrum of changes in a small production company.
    Wstąpienie Polski do krajów Unii Europejskiej i otwarcie się nowych rynków zbytu spowodowało zmiany w podejściu rodzimych przedsiębiorców do problemu sterowania produkcją. Dużą konkurencja wymusiła zwiększenie inwestycji nie tylko w unowocześnianie parku maszynowego, ale też w zmiany w systemie sterowania produkcją. W artykule przedstawiono zakres zmian zaproponowany w małym przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym.

    Umieszczona w artykule charakterystyka Firmy NEONET i realizowanego w niej procesu dostaw stanowią przykład logistyki w firmach handlujących sprzętem AGD i RTV. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na problemy (w tym na dokumentację), z jakimi muszą poradzić sobie te przedsiębiorstwa, by zamówiony towar znalazł się na czas i w odpowiedniej cenie w sklepie lub u klienta w domu.
    The article characterizes NEONET S.A. and describes its merchandise supply process. There is also an example of the logistics of companies selling appliances and electronics. The article describes the procedures of goods supply and the reporting of variances from the original order. Special attention is given to the problems that merchandise companies have to solve in order to get the ordered goods on time and at the right price to the store or the customer’s home

    Paper characterizes the internal transport occurring in a sugar-producing company. The production process of sugar is presented with special regard to internal transport equipment. The data from this enterprise were obtained using the methods of observation and examination of documents and using the collected literature. In addition, an FMEA analysis of internal transport was carried out.

    Excessive distribution of holdings is one of the most important barriers which causes that in a great part of Poland rational use of farms in impossible. This problem particularly concerns the south and east region of the country. Correct spatial distribution of lands belonging to holdings is one of the most crucial factors that enable an economically profitable activity of these farms. The aim of the paper was verification of the applicability of the prepared spatial data base, farm-land configuration of agricultural plots of the selected agricultural farms to indicate the areas of optimization of the internal transport. As a result, based on the developed spatial data base, an impact of the land configuration of agricultural plots in the investigated group of agricultural producers on organization of the field transport between the holding and agricultural plots was determined. The scope of the paper covered a vegetable producer group, which associates 5 farms that have in total 620 ha of agricultural land.
    Nadmierne rozdrobnienie gospodarstw jest jedną z najważniejszych barier, która uniemożliwia racjonalne użytkowanie gruntów w dużej części obszaru Polski. Problem ten szczególnie mocno dotyczy południowo-wschodnich regionów kraju. Prawidłowe przestrzenne rozmieszczenie gruntów gospodarstw jest jednym z najważniejszych czynników umożliwiających prowadzenie przez te gospodarstwa opłacalnej ekonomicznie działalności. Celem pracy było zweryfikowanie aplikacyjności wykonanej przestrzennej bazy danych, rozłogu działek rolnych wybranej grupy producentów rolnych, w celu wskazania obszarów optymalizacji transportu wewnętrznego. W efekcie na podstawie wykonanej przestrzennej bazy danych określono wpływ rozłogu działek rolnych w badanej grupie producentów rolnych na organizację transportu polowego pomiędzy siedzibą gospodarstwa a działkami rolnymi. Zakresem pracy objęto grupę producentów warzyw, która zrzesza 5 gospodarstw rolnych, posiadających łącznie 620 ha użytków rolnych.

    Internal transport is one of the areas of business functioning directly related to the area of production. The work carried out analyzes data on one of the areas of internal transport functioning in the company, which included the transport of load units between individual buildings in the plant, including the time required for the means of transport to load and unload the load units. The examples presented show that very often the loading or unloading process could take much less time than it actually is, and that the amount of transported units per day would be much higher without the need for changes in the means of transport or their parameters through process integration.
    Transport wewnętrzny jest jednym z obszarów funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa bezpośrednio związanym z obszarem produkcji. W pracy przeprowadzono analizę danych dotyczących jednego z obszarów funkcjonowania transportu wewnętrznego w firmie obejmującego transport jednostek ładunkowych pomiędzy poszczególnymi budynkami w zakładzie z uwzględnieniem czasu oczekiwania środka transportu na załadunek oraz rozładunek jednostek ładunkowych. Zaprezentowane przykłady pokazują, że bardzo często proces załadunku lub rozładunku mógłby trwać o wiele krócej niż trwa w rzeczywistości, a ilość transportowanych dziennie jednostek ładunkowych byłaby znacznie większa bez konieczności zmian w ilości środków transportu lub ich parametrach poprzez integrację procesów.

    The article describes the division and functions of internal transport in production logistics and internal transport systems. Its characteristics and main assumptions were presented. An internal transport analysis of the selected manufacturing company was performed. Selected results of the research in the production company were presented using the PFMEA method. Through the use of PFMEA analysis, the causes of the errors encountered during transport in the company were identified and corrective measures proposed, so that the transport system fulfills its role, does not interfere with the production process, and ensures safe movement of cargo.
    W artykule opisano podział i funkcje transportu wewnętrznego w logistyce produkcji oraz systemy transportu wewnętrznego. Dokonano jego charakterystyki i przedstawiono główne założenia. Dokonano analizy transportu wewnętrznego wybranego przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego. Zaprezentowano wybrane wyniki badań w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym wykorzystując między innymi metodę PFMEA. Poprzez zastosowanie analizy PFMEA zidentyfikowano przyczyny błędów występujących podczas transportu w przedsiębiorstwie oraz zaproponowano działania korygujące, tak aby system transportu spełniał swoją rolę, nie zakłócał procesu produkcji, jak również zapewniał bezpieczne przemieszczanie ładunków.

    The paper presents the eigenvalue problem in the dynamics of the steel industrial hall with an internal handling system. The aim of the calculations was to determine the eigenfrequencies and eigenvectors for the structure of the hall adapted to a gantry operation. The analysis was performed by using FEM software, namely Robot. Among over a dozen calculated eigenvectors, four ones were chosen as the most representative for a lateral structural arrangement of the hall and its roof.

    W artykule przedstawiono problematykę harmonogramowania pracy zautomatyzowanych wózków AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) w celu równomiernego i efektywnego rozkładu materiału transportowanego. Analiza problemu dystrybucji wydaje się łatwiejsza, kiedy traktować ją można jako szczególny przypadek ogólnego problemu transferowania materiałów. Propozycja innowacyjnych rozwiązań dla transportu wewnętrznego przedsiębiorstwa pozwala ocenić sprawność tego systemu poprzez monitorowanie parametrów wydajnościowych oraz regularność dystrybuowania materiałów. Podjęto rozważania nad problemem dystrybucji materiałów w przedsiębiorstwie zaopatrującym w materiały budowlane na etapie transportu z punktów przyjęć do strefy składowania w magazynie.
    This paper presents the issues of work scheduling automated forklift AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) in order to balance and effective distribution of the transported material. Analysis of the distribution problem is easier when can be treat it as a special case of the general problem of materials transfer. Proposed innovative solutions for internal transport in companies can evaluate their efficiency through the monitoring of performance parameters and the regularity of materials distribution. It elaborates the problem in the company supplying the construction materials, on the stage of transport from admission points to the storage area in the warehouse.

    W artykule przedstawiono planowanie transportu drogowego w przedsiębiorstwie rolnym z wykorzystaniem systemu GPS do rejestracji pracy środków transportowych i oceny efektywności transportu wewnętrznego i zewnętrznego. Badania przeprowadzono w przedsiębiorstwie rolnym podczas zbioru pszenicy ozimej, rzepaku ozimego i kukurydzy na ziarno z całkowitej powierzchni 460 ha. Pola rozmieszczone były od centrali w promieniu 10,75 km. Do przetransportowania było łącznie 4479,8 t. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników zostały obliczone czasy trwania kursu z ładunkiem i bez ładunku, czas obrotu, wielkość potoku towarowego i prędkość eksploatacyjna oraz techniczna.
    The article presents road transport planning in an agricultural enterprise using a GPS system for recording the work of transport means and assessing the efficiency of internal and external transport. The research was carried out in an agricultural enterprise during winter wheat harvest, winter rape and corn for grain from a total area of 460 ha. The fields were located from the headquarters within a radius of 10.75 km. A total of 4479.8 tons were transported. On the basis of the results obtained, the duration of the course with and without cargo was calculated, the turnover time, the size of the freight stream and the operational and technical speed.

    The basis of each IT system is data exchange both between individual modules of program and between program and user. The number of exchanged data and the number of operations on the data, which should be performed, require application of professional tools allowing for collecting and performing operations on multiple types of data. One of these tools are databases, which are an essential part of any IT system. With database designing are connected many decision problems which can occur both during the construction of database management system and at the stage of integration of entire user application with developed database. The article presents typical decision problems connected with designing of databases. These problems mainly concern sphere of information technology (including the programming language or recovery mechanism of database after the failure). Database architecture for typical IT system from the point of view possible paths for users were discussed, and role of catalogues played in development of database were presented. In addition, modular structure of the database, which was developed for the system SIMMAG3D for modelling and visualization of warehouse facilities in 3D was shown. This system is being developed under a project financed by the National Centre for Research and Development. We discussed in detail one of the essential elements in developed database - catalogues of means of external and internal transport, non-mechanical equipment and accessories which are essential from the point of view of the work load.
