Opis:
The importance of inland waterway transport for transport in the EU countries is highlighted. In Western Europe inland waterway transport is perceived as an environment-friendly system offering considerable potential. The carriage of aggregates and construction materials has a large share in the transport structure. In the transport on the Rhine aggregates constitute 15-20% of the whole transport on this waterway. In Poland, waterway transport has a marginal importance since its share in the total transport is below 0.5%. In Polish conditions the carriage of aggregates has a significant share in the total inland waterway transport. On domestic routes the share of aggregate carriage amounts to 50-80%. However, the carriage is over short distances and is connected with extraction of aggregates from the bottom of the waterways. The advantages of waterway transport in comparison with rail transport are demonstrated by means of an analysis of the costs of coal transport on the Oder.

The subject of the article are problems of safety in the operation of earth structures designed for vehicle traffic in the conditions of threats of loss of stability. In particular, the following issues were discussed: design and construction of embankments on weak, marshy soil, safety of earth structures in floodplains, safety of earth structures in landslide areas, earth structures located in areas of mining damage. Examples of solutions to particular problems are given. The summary contains statements of utilitarian and cognitive significance.
Tematem artykułu są problemy bezpieczeństwa eksploatacji komunikacyjnych budowli ziemnych w warunkach zagrożeń utraty stateczności. W szczególności omówiono następujące zagadnienia dotyczące: projektowania i budowy nasypów na słabym podłożu bagnistym, bezpieczeństwa budowli ziemnych na terenach zalewowych, bezpieczeństwa budowli ziemnych na terenach osuwiskowych, budowli ziemnych zlokalizowanych na terenach szkód górniczych. Podano przykłady rozwiązania poszczególnych problemów. Podsumowanie zawiera stwierdzenia o znaczeniu utylitarnym i poznawczym.

W pracy przebadano wzrost efektywności sieci dróg kołowych Polski rozbudowywanej w ramach funduszy unijnych. Wprawdzie inwestycje drogowe podniosły ogólną efektywność całej sieci kraju, ale w trakcie tego procesu spowodowały wzrost zróżnicowania poziomów skomunikowania pomiędzy poszczególnymi obszarami. Wykazano, że mniejsze inwestycje drogowe, subregionalne mogą przynieść w tym względzie większe korzyści.
The paper examines the efficiency of the road transportation network in Poland, developed with the use of EU funds. The examined infrastructure investments increased the overall efficiency of the national transportation network, but in the process, they also increased the differences/inequalities in the level of spatial accessibility of various areas. It has been proved that smaller road infrastructure developments at a subregional level would have led to greater efficiencies in the overall efficiency of the national network.

Zmiana zasad funkcjonowania transportu kolejowego należy do bardziej widocznych zmian na rynku transportowym, jakie miały miejsce w ostatnich dekadach. Proces ten, w Unii Europejskiej trwający od początku lat dziewięćdziesiątych XX w., przebiegał w podobnym czasie w wielu państwach na całym świecie. Główną i wspólną dla większości państw przyczyną podejmowania działań w tym obszarze była ogólnie zła ekonomiczna sytuacja przedsiębiorstw transportu kolejowego, których państwo było właścicielem. Potrzeba rozwiązania tych problemów postawiła ekonomistów i polityków wobec konieczności zaprojektowania procesów restrukturyzacji kolei.

Aim: The analysis of the cost structure and the factors determining these costs constitutes an important subject that is applied for both strategic planning of the company’s activity and the evaluation of the actions taken before. The aim of the study was to analyze the structure of the costs incurred by transport enterprises operating in the territory of West Pomeranian Voivodeship in the period from 2008 to 2014, as well as the factors which determined cost variations. Design / Research methods: Literature research provided an introduction to the discussion along with an analysis of the secondary sources concerned with the subject of the study. Achieving the goals required the analysis of financial reports compiled by the enterprises examined for 2008-2014. The methods of descriptive statistics were used for collecting the data. Considering the fact that the study included more than half of the target group the results obtained can be referred with considerable caution to all other economic operators of this kind in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Conclusions / findings: The results found that the costs of the enterprises examined were to the largest extent influenced by macroeconomic factors, such as interest rates, fuel prices, as well as the situation on the job market. Micro-enterprises were the most vulnerable to the changes in these factors. The study showed that there is a significant correlation between the expenses borne and the economic situation on the EU market. Originality / value of the article:  While the majority of the compilations concerning transport enterprises focuses on their general situation, the results of this study provide a thorough analysis of the internal situation of the entities examined and indicate the influence of the individual factors on the market situation of these entities. It is the first compilation focusing on transport enterprises which undertakes the analysis of the costs they incur applying such a broad aspect. Implications of the research (if applicable): The results may be used by individuals who manage transport enterprises in order to track, within the framework of an ex post analysis, the factors influencing the costs, as well as their future optimization. From the scientific perspective, the findings may be applied for further considerations concerning the road transport sector and its market situation. Limitations of the research: The main limitation of the study is the incomplete picture of the situation of all transport enterprises in West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Due to the lack of comparability of the financial data, as well as the difficulties in obtaining them, the study did not include the companies which are not required to publish financial reports and those keeping tax records. Another limitation is the lack of the data on enterprises which  did not submit their reports to the relevant registers despite being obligated to do so. JEL: R41

Research of the closed exponential queueing structure with one-type messages and the income is conducted. The differential equation in partial derivatives for an income distribution density is received. The ordinary differential equation for its expected income is constructed at particular starting conditions. The offered method of its decision in a case when the intensity of the service of messages, the number of messages in networks, the number of lines of the service in systems, the matrix of probabilities of transitions of messages and the income from transitions between conditions of the closed queueing structure (CQS) depend on time is described. An example when change of parameters has seasonal nature is reviewed. Results of this article can be applied at the prediction of the income of the logistic transport system (LTS).

This work is the result of research carried out by an initiative group in the city of Rivne to assess the accessibility of the transport environment for people with disabilities. The rights of people with disabilities to access transport services were researched by studying the accessibility of vehicles for people with disabilities. The monitoring was carried out by means of questionnaire method, conducted survey, registration (observation) and expert evaluation. The questionnaire was attended by 100 people, among them: disabled people with diseases of the musculoskeletal system (20 people); visually impaired people (28 people); hearing impaired people (22 people); parents of children with cerebral palsy and autism (30 people). The monitoring results are presented in the form of graphs, tables and diagrams. Based on the expert assessment, a summary table of recommended indicators for evaluating the accessibility of transport system elements was obtained. A list of priority measures was proposed to create an accessible urban transport environment. The results of the monitoring are the basis for further investigation of the problem of transportation of people with disabilities.

Natural riffles are formed as a result of fluvial processes in the stream channel, water flow, and sediment movement. In recent years, artificial riffles have also been constructed in order to improve the water flow and sediment transport as well as to initiate the processes that lead to the restoration of natural riffle–pool sequences. In river engineering, the utilization of artificial riffles (rapid hydraulic structures) is still in its experimental stage. Artificial riffles are studied and described in the literature on a case study basis. However, the studies on riffle sequences and their effects on stream channel evolution need to be improved. A system of artificial riffles was created in the mouth section of Krzczonówka Stream in 2013. The new riffles made the stream channel more morphologically diverse and also reduced its longitudinal slope. The check dam on the stream, located upstream of the newly formed riffles, was renovated and lowered in 2014. At this time, a flood occurred and released a large mass of sediment downstream of the check dam. Then, the sediment settled in the sections between the artificial riffles, thus covering some of them. The aim of the study was to examine the effect of the system of riffles on the changes in sediment transport and water flow in the studied stream channel. Calculations indicate that the system of riffles established downstream of the check dam has limited the movement of sediment. The sediment transport is varied throughout the studied stream course and is mostly dependent on the sediment supply.

Opis:
A study of the dynamic loading of the carrying structure of a tank wagon during transportation on a railway ferry was carried out. The studies were carried out with the angular displacements of the railway ferry around the longitudinal axis (lurch), as the case of the highest load on the carrying structure of the tank wagon. It was found that the acceleration total value that acts on the outermost tank wagon from the bulwark is 0.31g. The resulting value of acceleration, as a component of the dynamic load, was taken into account when calculating the strength of the carrying structure of the tank wagon, taking into account the typical scheme of interaction with chain ties. The research carried out will contribute to the creation of recommendations for the safe operation of tank wagons in international rail and water traffic and increasing the efficiency of rail transport functioning.

This article introduces the study of peripheral clamping for large-aperture laser mirrors in high power laser facilities. Some multi-point clamping schemes were experimentally tested, the results of the experiments show that these schemes cannot meet the technical requirements, and in the simulation analysis, we explain the reason for this phenomenon. It is concluded that the additional bending moment caused by the non-ideal process factors in the multi-point clamping is the main cause for the surface distortion. Based on the above conclusions, we carried out research on minor-point clamping. Experimental verification of the minor-point clamping were done, the results show that the minor-point clamping can meet the requirements of technical indicators in whole process. This work can provide a reference for the design of the large-aperture transport mirror clamping structure, which may be used in huge laser devices and telescopes.

The article presents the method of evaluation of the availability of the utilization subsystem in a transport system. The method includes the defining and comparison of the values of the availability of the utilization subsystem to the value of the required availability. The article also deals with the way of defining the minimum availability of an individual technological object (means of transport) as well as the minimum number of technological objects used in the system, in order for the obtained value of the availability of the utilization subsystem to exceed the value of the required availability determined by the parameters of transport task. The values of the availability of the utilization subsystem are defined according to the availability of an individual technological object, the number of objects used in the system as well as the structure by which the individual technological objects are linked. The availability of the individual technological object was defined on the basis of a constructed mathematical model of the utilization process realized in the tested transport system. Then, for the utilization data obtained during tests conducted in an existing transport system, the values of the analyzed characteristics were defined. The presented results are the effect of research conducted as part o f a larger research project pertaining to the creation o f a decision-making model of controlling the availability of a transport system.

Experimental research of the dynamic properties of structures is performed during of prototype perfectioning, current exploitation and even after the withdrawal from the exploitation for the estimation of the residual durabilities. The aim for research of the dynamic properties of structures is the assurance of its safety, reliability, economic management and comfort. Researcher records the amplitudes of vibrations in the function of the actuation frequencies. Local raise of the amplitude is qualified as resonance. From the researcher point of view, the shape of resonance curves justifies the discrimination of two types of phenomena's: „single resonance" and „close frequencies resonance". For better understanding of these occurrences „the models of interpretation" were proposed. Up to three models of interpretation were assigned to the single resonance: one-degree-of-freedom system, one-degree-of-freedom system with share of the backlashes, two one-degree-of-freedom systems with the same frequencies. From above reasoning, the conclusion results that researcher can expect that the preliminary isolated single resonance belongs to one from the three, mentioned above cases. The judgment of these occurrences, just as the disentanglement of relations in the resonance pair with close frequencies, determines next challenge for the researcher.

Spreading of gaseous pollutants in windy atmosphere is considered by means of numerical simulations of two-dimensional hydrodynamic equations. The parametric studies, which are performed for various magnitudes of a horizontal wind speed, reveal a plume development and a generation of vortices which occur as a result of Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities. Mass density profiles exhibit high level of spatial and temporal variability. A spectral analysis of these profiles provides variable circular frequency and a wave number.
