The article presents the railway entity PKP LHS Sp. z o.o. and its role in the development of the New Silk Road. In consequence, the increase in traffic on the Silk Road with the participation of Polish companies translates into the economic development of the Lublin Province and the development of border crossings in that province. The importance of transport corridors and the participation of PKP LHS in the development of those corridors have been highlighted. Investment assumptions have been presented, the effects of which will be visible in a few years, strengthening the potential and economic capabilities of the province.

Poland is strategically located in the centre of Europe. In the past this geographical position was the cause of many hardships, in particular of political nature. Nevertheless, after the accession to the European Union, it is becoming one of Poland’s main assets. It is of great significance to international transport services rendered between the Baltic Sea Region and Southern Europe. The aim of this article is to elaborate on the importance of Pan-European Transport Corridors running via Poland for international transport service in Poland. In the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) the sea transport represents over the half of the overall trade in the region. In the case of Poland the figure amounts to one third, however, it is estimated that the Polish share in the trading activity with the BSR states will be systematically increasing until 2020. The Polish maritime transport faces the increasing competition from the other transport modes – road and railway. It is more favourable for Poland building highways connecting the North and the South than the East and the West, since it will create conditions for cargo sent from Polish ports to bypass German harbours.

W artykule scharakteryzowano rolę europejskich korytarzy transportowych w rozwoju usług logistycznych w Polsce. Zwrócono szczególną uwagę na korytarz transportowy Bałtyk – Adriatyk pozwalający na przyspieszenie rozwoju transportu intermodalnego. Dla regionów nadmorskich w okolicach Trójmiasta oraz Szczecina i Świnoujścia jest to szansa na dynamiczny rozwój przeładunków portowych, usług logistycznych i całej gospodarki morskiej, która ma duże znaczenie dla tych regionów. Dla Polski stanowi on szansę na rozwój licznych terminali, centrów logistycznych i parków magazynowych oraz usług logistycznych.
Article describes the role of European transport corridors in the development of logistics services in Poland. Particular attention was paid to the Baltic-Adriatic transport corridor allowing for the acceleration of the development of intermodal transport. For coastal regions in the vicinity of the Tri-City, Szczecin and Świnoujście, it is a chance for dynamic development of port transshipments, logistic services and the entire maritime economy, which is of great importance for these regions. For Poland, it provides an opportunity for the development of numerous terminals, logistic centers and warehouse parks as well as logistic services.

The paper presents problems of oversize cargo (OC) carried by various modes of transport, relevant legal instruments and problems that carriers face during the preparation and transport of extremely heavy and/or huge pieces of cargo in Poland. The international program Oversize Baltic will be described. The program aims at the standardization of procedures connected with the carriage of oversize cargo pieces in the South Baltic Region. The OV corridors in Poland are presented. Oversize transport is indispensable for economic growth of every nation, but its organization varies in each country of the South Baltic region. Przedstawione zostaną wady i zalety a jednocześnie różnice jakie dzielą terminale morskie od lądowych.
Development of intermodal transport enforces the construction of new and upgrading terminals already in operation, both in Poland and in Europe. In that paper will be presented the analysis of the terminal together with the location of the transport corridors which run through Poland. Will be compared marine and land terminals which taking into account the point of infrastructure for the use of each mode of transport. They will be analyzed private and public terminals that are hoping for the development of our economy. A linear infrastructure that occur between the terminals and journey times and we can transport the load. Trend shall be appointed effective transport process. Our analysis will present infrastructure capabilities at the same time shows that there are bottlenecks in the logistics system. We will present the pros and cons at the same time the differences that divide marine from land-based terminals.

The article present the concept of constructing the Bosphorus and Bering Strait crossing, as part of the global transport corridors. It includes classification of tunnels and describes methods for their construction. A lot of attention has been dedicated to discussing the Marmaray project, which forms basis for building the tunnel under the Bosphorus strait. The various stages of construction and the benefits from the implementation of this undertaking have been presented.

The article gives a description of the innovative project utilizing satellite technologies that is being carried out by PIAP. The project objective is to design and implement of a system for use in the European Transport Corridors. The new W2A satellite will enable a bi-directional satellite communication with vehicles around Europe. The software applications designed will increase safety and comfort of travelling while helping to reduce travel costs and emission of exhausts.

In the article, the authors discuss the importance of wellfunctioning system transport for the economic development of the region as well as urban agglomerations. In the era of more and more complex supply chains and its growing development an important role is played by modern logistics infrastructure correctly collocated and working in a network system. While planning development of logistics infrastructure it is important to determine its size and future functions. The article describes logistics centers in our country and their classification.

Background: The paper concerns the concept of synchromodal logistics. It has great economic and environmental potential in terms of optimizing cargo transportation using various modes and modes of transport. In the face of unexpected disruptions in the global economic system due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shift paradigm may result in a thorough verification of numerous solutions in the operational activities of transport, shipping, and logistics companies. The aim of the article is to evaluate the key indicators that influence the efficiency of synchromodality in logistics. Its implementation would allow the development of sustainable transport corridors from the perspective of the European-Asian supply chains reconfiguration. Methods: The paper uses questionnaire research and interviews conducted among experts, as well as selected methods of artificial intelligence, to determine the weights of the essential indicators that influence the effectiveness of synchromodality in logistics. Moreover, descriptive methods were used as supporting methods. Results: Basic indicators influencing the effectiveness of the synchromodal system were determined, which may favor the operationalization of the concept implementation process. These indicators can be one of the tools to assess the prospects for the development of synchromodal logistics. Conclusions: The implementation of the synchromodal logistics concept offers opportunities to strengthen cooperation in Euro-Asian supply chains to promote the development of sustainable transport corridors in the field of the trans-European transport network. The synchronization of the multibranch network of transport connections, preceded by the flow of information and preferences of the supply chain participants, allows the selection of the most advantageous transport connection proposals in real time, taking into account the criterion of their availability. The main expectations concerning the development of synchromodality relate to the improvement of the level of transport and logistics services, modal shifts, use of the capacity of transport nodes, and reduction of CO2 emissions.

The project “Freight and Logistics Advancement in Central/South-East Europe - Validation of trade and transport processes, Implementation of improvement actions, Application of co-coordinated structures” (in short - FLAVIA) is carried out under the Central Europe – Cooperation for Success Programme, cofunded by the European Regional Development Fund. One of the main objectives of FLAVIA project is to consolidate a logistic corridor from Central Europe (CE) to the South-East Europe (SEE) and the Black Sea Region, based on rail and inland waterways intermodal transport. In this paper we discuss the partial outputs of FLAVIA project, mainly related to the identified actual status of rail-based intermodal transport and trade obstacles of the freight flows on the Romanian territory and the used methodology. Several operational and long-term measures to improve the trade and intermodal transport are listed, considering the advantages of the geo-strategic potential of Romania location, connected with the several improvement directions already considered into the new released intermodal strategy.
Das Projekt “Freight and Logistics Advancement in Central/South-East Europe - Validation of trade and transport processes, Implementation of improvement actions, Application of co-coordinated structures” (kurz FLAVIA) wird im Rahmen des CENTRAL EUROPE – Cooperation for success Programme realisiert, gefördert duch den Europäischer Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE). Eines der Hauptvorhaben von FLAVIA ist es, den logistischen Korridor von Zentraleuropa nach Südosteuropa und die Schwarzmeerregion unter Einbeziehung von intermodalen Verkehren zu stärken. In diesem Paper setzen wir uns mit Teilergebnissen des FLAVIA Projekts auseinander. Die Diskussion bezieht sich hauptsächlich auf im Projekt identifizierte Handels- und Transportbarrieren im intermodalen Schienenverkehr in Rumänien sowie die hierfür verwendete Methodik. Verschiedene operative und längerfristige Maßnahmen um den Handel und den Transport zu verbessern werden betrachtet unter der Berücksichtigung des geo-strategischen Potentials des rumänischen Standorts. Dabei wird Bezug auf die neulich verabschiedete intermodale Strategie und deren Wirkrichtungen genommen.

Opis:
Background: The subject of this research is the formulation of recommendations for the improvement of the national logistics system of the Russian Federation. The aim of the work is to analyze Russia through 6 dynamic indicators across 11 years. It should be understood that state policies and measures take time to be implemented and carry certain costs with them, which precludes momentary full-scale development. Triage is needed to understand the critical sectors of the national logistics system that are the most underdeveloped at the current moment, with future resources already aimed at small-scale development and/or helping newly developed logistics areas function at a satisfactory level. By itself, logistics development is very important for any country in the current international market, with Russia having the potential to be a crucial transport link between East-West/West-East product and container flows. Methods: Russia’s country-level logistics system is analyzed by us through the use of the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index and its 6 indicators. Detailed observation allows the pinpointing of problematic areas and further development of group solutions and recommendations at the state level. Results: Recommendations for national logistics system development grouped in a prioritized list with 2 different resulting scenarios. Division of measures is needed since resource scarcity may not allow wide full-scale eradication of all identified logistical bottlenecks at once. Approximate results of scenario implementation given through comparable estimates made by governmental bodies. Conclusions: The developed scenarios with appointed integration conditions are aimed at the development of Russia’s national logistics system for a better competitive situation in the international market.
Wstęp: Celem pracy jest stworzenie rekomendacji poprawy narodowego system logistycznej Rosji. System ten został podstany analizie w oparciu o 6 wskaźników dynamicznych w okresie 11 lat. Należy wziąć pod uwagę, że wdrożenie pewnych rozwiązań na skalę państwową wymaga czasu oraz poniesienia określonych kosztów, co wyklucza obecnie rozwój w pełnej skali. Istotna jest prawidłowa ocena stanu aby określić, które obszary krytycznej narodowego systemu logistycznego są najbardziej niedorozwinięte w chwili obecnej jak również jakie określenie już przydzielonych zasobów na rozwój systemu logistycznego w mniejszej skali i w określonych obszarach. Rozwój logistyki, w dobie obecnej międzynarodowej gospodarki, jest istotny dla każdego państwa. Rosja posiada potencjał do stanie się ważnych ogniwem transportowym pomiędzy Wschodem i Zachodem. Metody: Narodowy system logistyczny Rosji został poddany analizie przy zastosowaniu 6 wskaźników zdefiniowanych przez Bank Światowy Bank. Pozwoliło to na wydzielenie problematycznych obszarów oraz wypracowanie planu rozwoju wraz z jego zaleceniami na poziomie państwowym. Wyniki: Zalecenia dla rozwoju narodowego systemu logistycznego zostało zebrane na liście uwzględniającej ich priorytetowość dla dwóch scenariuszy wynikowych. Ze względu na mała dostępność możliwych zasobów konieczny jest ich podział i przydzielenie tylko do usunięcia części najistotniejszych wąskich gardeł. Wnioski: Uzyskane scenariusze rozwoju wraz z warunkami integracji mają na celu rozwój narodowego systemu logistycznego Rosji w celu zwiększenia jej konkurencyjności na rynkach międzynarodowych.
