    Opis:
    Unhealthy lifestyle choices and passive behaviour are a significant problem for many developed countries. They lead to a decrease in public health in the form of diseases related to contemporary civilization, such as: cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes and obesity. This increases the costs generated in the healthcare system. The share of costs resulting from combating these diseases increases every year. The choice of a transport mode used when commuting is often perceived as one of the factors leading to more proactive behaviour and thus decreasing the externalities not only connected directly with transport such as pollution, noise, congestion and accidents, but also those connected with public health. The paper shows the results of a study performed in Poland, which was meant to identify and measure the relations between the transport choices and other proactive choices of commuters. A logistic regression model was estimated to identify the occurrence and intensity of these relations. The goal of the article is, therefore, to assess whether the choice of a transport mode used when commuting is connected with other types of proactive behaviour of citizens. In particular, the author wishes to determine if people choosing a car as their mode of transport tend to be generally less active than people choosing public transport or those who commute actively.

    W artykule przedstawiono analizę wykorzystania rowerów w podróżach miejskich w świetle wyników badań preferencji i zachowań transportowych mieszkańców Gdyni. Najpierw scharakteryzowano zakres i metodykę badań. Następnie przedstawiono sposoby realizacji podróży miejskich przez mieszkańców Gdyni, ustalone w ramach badań przeprowadzonych w latach 2006-2013. Następnie określono cele i częstość korzystania z roweru w podróżach miejskich gdynian z uwzględnieniem identyfikacji przyczyn korzystania z roweru. Zaprezentowano również stosunek mieszkańców Gdyni do korzystania z roweru miejskiego.
    In the articles of analyses of using bicycles in urban travels is introduced on base of the results of marketing research on transport preferences and behaviour of Gdynia's inhabitants. At first the scope and methodology of research are presented. Then the means of transport used by inhabitants in their urban travels in the years 2006-2013 are shown. Next the aims and frequency of using bicycle by the Gdynia's inhabitants together with the identification of the reasons of using bicycles are identified. At the article the attitude of Gdynia's inhabitants to using the municipal bicycle system is presented.

    Aim: While transport systems play a crucial role in socio-economic development, its expansion has serious environmental impacts. Reducing rivalry in use by supporting public transport, cycling and walking, as well as exclusion of car users are popular instruments to support sustainable transport. While such policy (external stimuli) may lead to positive impact in the short run, a change in attitude of transport users may be necessary in order to long-term sustainable transport. This attitude change is related to Personal Social Responsibility (PSR), relying on the education of a conscious and responsible society and influencing individual transport choices of individuals. The purpose of the paper is to examine the impact of modifications of the levels of rivalry and excludability in the access to transport systems on the development of Personal Social Responsibility in terms of sustainable transport behaviour.   Design/ Research methods: Based on literature review, a survey was developed to provide an answer to the main research question: To what extent do changes in the urban transport system supporting sustainable transport have an impact on transport behaviour? The following elements of Personal Social Responsibility are considered: aware and voluntary transport choices, state-of-well-being resulting from choices, environmental and social impact, and being a good example to others   Conclusions/findings: The respondents observed numerous changes in the elements of the Wrocław transport system they use (Wrocław is a large city in the South-West of Poland), mainly related to the development of road infrastructure. The level of competition between individual transport users remained largely unchanged or slightly decreased, to the benefit of pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users. Only 26.21% of the respondents declared a change of the most frequently used means of transport, with half of them choosing to drive by car, and half - by public transport. These changes were not related to concerns about ecology, the local community or awareness of doing good for people and the environment. Therefore, it can be concluded that they resulted from external stimuli affecting private benefits not related to the development of the PSR. Originality/value: While international research in the field of the field of sustainable mobility focuses mostly on factors impacting sustainable transport choices and the effectivity of different instruments of sustainable transport policies affecting the factors considered most important in transport choices, this study shows that even when changes in the intensity of rivalry and excludability in transport systems for different users lead to required changes in transport behavior, this does not necessarily result in the development of PSR elements that would overall support the social transformation towards sustainable transport development.   JEL: Q01, R41, R48

    Purpose: Many policies aimed at developing sustainable transport are based on a (partial) exclusion of car drivers and on a decrease in rivalry between different transport users. In this context, the primary purpose of this study is to assess the impact of changes in levels of rivalry and excludability resulting from infrastructural changes in the transport system providing enhanced sustainable transport choices. Methodology/approach: Rivalry and excludability determine patterns of consumption and are the basis of many aspects of sustainable transport policies. Therefore, the key issue for policy making is to determine the extent to which changes in these features support sustainable transport choices. To attempt to understand these features, preliminary survey research was conducted among users of the Wrocław (Poland) transport system to investigate; (i) which changes in the transport system are the most important for respondents, (ii) how these changes influence the intensity of rivalry and excludability, and (iii) whether these changes lead to a shift in transport mode choice. Findings: Changes in the transport system led to decreased or unchanged intensity of rivalry. There were few examples of exclusion, which affected primarily car users. Modifications in the levels of the two analysed features were not accompanied by a permanent shift towards more sustainable transport choices. Originality/value: While many studies investigate changes in transport behaviour resulting from particular solutions that promote sustainable transport, this study focuses on how transport users react when faced with many different changes in the transport system. The novelty of this approach sheds light on transport choices resulting from changes in rivalry and excludability and the results obtained may assist evidence-based policy recommendations.

    W artykule przedstawiono analizę wpływu Covid-19 na funkcjonowanie różnych gałęzi transportu pasażerskiego w 2020 i w pierwszej połowie 2021 roku w Polsce i na świecie. Omówiono wskaźnik surowości wprowadzanych restrykcji rządowych. Pokazano, jak wybuch pandemii Covid-19 wpłynął na decyzje rządów dotyczące wprowadzania ograniczeń w życiu społecznym oraz na zmiany w mobilności podczas trwania pandemii Covid-19. Przedstawiono zmiany wielkości przewozów w transporcie pasażerskim ogółem oraz w poszczególnych gałęziach transportu, zmiany mobilności społeczeństwa w miastach, regionach i skali międzynarodowej oraz ich wpływ na zachowania komunikacyjne społeczeństwa w przyszłości.
    The article presents an analysis of the impact of Covid-19 on the functioning of various modes of passenger transport in 2020 and in the first half of 2021 in Poland and in the world. The indicator of the severity of the introduced government restrictions was discussed. It shows how the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic influenced governments’ decisions to impose restrictions on social life and changes in mobility during the Covid-19 pandemic. Changes in the volume of passenger transport in total and in individual modes of transport, changes in the mobility of the society in cities, regions and on an international scale, as well as their impact on the future transport behaviour of the society were presented.

    Zachowania transportowe ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem aspektów płci są zagadnieniem coraz częściej podejmowanym przez naukowców z całego świata. Badania w tym zakresie potwierdzają istotne różnice między decyzjami kobiet i mężczyzn dotyczącymi wyboru sposobu i środków transportu wykorzystywanych podczas podróży, poczucia bezpieczeństwa i zagadnień bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego. Na różnice w zachowaniach komunikacyjnych wpływają nie tylko posiadanie prawa jazdy lub dostęp do samochodu, ale uwarunkowania kulturalno- -społeczne, w tym tradycyjny podział ról w rodzinie i społeczeństwie oraz gorsza pozycja kobiety na rynku pracy. Równość płci jest obecnie częścią dyskursu politycznego w Unii Europejskiej, jednak planowanie transportu oraz prowadzone badania naukowe niejednokrotnie pomijają różnice między kobietami i mężczyznami w zachowaniach transportowych oraz preferencjach związanych z realizowaniem podróży. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zbadanie, czy istnieją różnice w preferencjach dotyczących jakości funkcjonowania transportu publicznego oraz w ocenie funkcjonujących systemów przez kobiety i mężczyzn na podstawie danych zebranych w badaniach ankietowych w Krakowie.
    Transport behaviour with particular emphasis on gender aspects has been nowadays more and more studied by scientists around the world. Research in this area confirms the significant differences between the decisions usually taken by women and men regarding the transport mode choice, a sense of security and road safety issues. Differences in transport behaviours are influenced not only by owning a driving license or access to a car, but also by cultural and social conditions, including the traditional division of family roles and the worse position of a woman on the labour market. Gender equality is currently part of the political discourse in the European Union, but transport planning and scientific research often overlook the differences between men and women in transport behaviour and travel preferences. The purpose of this article is to examine whether there are any differences towards the preferences regarding the quality of public transport and in the assessment of functioning systems among women and men, based on data collected in surveys in Krakow.

    Na potrzeby opracowania Planu Zrównoważonego Rozwoju Publicznego Transportu Zbiorowego Województwa Pomorskiego w czwartym kwartale 2013 roku konsorcjum Fundacji Rozwoju Inżynierii Lądowej oraz z Politechniki Gdańskiej wykonało badania potrzeb transportowych mieszkańców województwa pomorskiego oraz wielkości popytu na usługi przewozowe. Uzyskane wyniki były podstawą do budowy transportowego modelu symulacyjnego podróży realizowanych w obszarze województwa. Wykonane za jego pomocą prognozy oraz analizy różnych scenariuszy rozwoju usług transportu zbiorowego stanowiły kluczowy element opracowania planu transportowego. Niniejszy artykuł ma charakter publikacji syntetyzującej uzyskane wyniki badań. Przedstawione wyniki charakteryzują mieszkańców pod względem ruchliwości, motywacji podróży, wyboru środka transportu oraz ich oceny obecnej oferty przewozowej.
    To devise the Plan for Sustainable Development of Public Transport in Pomerania Province, in the fourth quarter of 2013 the consortium for the Foundation for the Civil Engineering Development and the Gdansk University of Technology have completed the research on the transport needs of the Pomerania Province inhabitants and on the demand for public transport services. The obtained results were the basis to build the transport simulation model of travels. The model was used to perform forecasting and analysis of various scenarios for the development of public transport services. The findings of these analyses were a key part of the development plan for transport. This article is a publication that synthesizes the results of research. The results are characterized in terms of population mobility, travel motivation, mode choice and their assessment of the current transportation offer.

    This article presents the results of an extensive questionnaire survey focused on changes in the transport behaviour of the population of the Czech Republic immediately after the government’s announcement about the measures implemented to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The questionnaire aimed to determine the changes in the use of the mode of transport for regular travel to work, school, or for shopping, as well as to determine the changes in the frequency of these travels according to monitored socio-demographic groups of inhabitants and specified size groups of settlements. This article contains a statistical evaluation of these changes in the transport behaviour of the population using sophisticated statistical tools. A method is proposed for estimating the number of passengers in public transport using a linear regression model based on the data from conducted transport behaviour survey. In this paper, the Data envelopment analysis (hereinafter referred to as DEA method) within the case study in the South Bohemian Region is also used to determine whether the COVID-19 measures have reduced the efficiency of public transport.

    Sposobem na uniknięcie problemów związanych ze wzmożonym ruchem dowozowym jest odpowiednie kształtowanie obszaru miejskiego, zwłaszcza w okolicy dużych generatorów ruchu. Jednym z elementów dobrze ukształtowanej przestrzeni w otoczeniu obiektów generujących duży ruch dowozowy jest strefa krótkiego postoju, zwana inaczej strefą kiss and ride (pol.: pocałuj i jedź). Jest to wydzielona strefa przeznaczona wyłącznie do krótkotrwałego zatrzymywania samochodów, z których wysiadają pasażerowie podwiezieni do danego punktu w mieście. W artykule omówiono główne cele funkcjonowania systemu kiss and ride oraz dokonano próby zdefiniowania pojęcia strefy kiss and ride wraz z inwentaryzacją jej podstawowych elementów składowych. W oparciu o dostępne przykłady stref kiss and ride, z uzupełnieniem na podstawie własnych doświadczeń, porównano i zestawiono ich cechy charakterystyczne, co posłużyło do opracowania podziału stref kiss and ride ze względu na różnego rodzaju kryteria dotyczące ich wykorzystania, układu przestrzennego i cech geometrycznych oraz charakteru obiektu, przy którym funkcjonują. Zaprezentowano również wybrane przykłady organizacji stref kiss and ride funkcjonujących w wybranych miastach na świecie.
    The way to avoid problems caused by increased transport traffic is suitable shaping urban area, especially in the neighborhood of big traffic generators. One of the elements of well shaped space close to the facilities generating big traffic is a drop off zone, so called kiss and ride zone. It is separated zone devoted strictly for short-term parking of cars discharging passengers who are driven to this specific point. In the article main aims of functioning of kiss and ride system have been presented and an attempt to define of kiss and ride zone together with stocktaking of its basic elements has been undertaken. On the base of available examples of kiss and ride zones completed with own experiences their characteristics were compared and combined which allowed to describe division of kiss and ride zones regarding to different criteria relating to its use, spatial arrangement and geometrical features as well as character of facility to which they serve. Also selected examples of organization of kiss and ride zones operating in different cities in the world have been presented.

Artykuł prezentuje działania, które można podjąć na etapie przygotowywania dokumentacji przetargowej i wyboru oferentów, omawia możliwe sposoby doboru próby badawczej oraz budowy kwestionariusza, zwraca także uwagę na kluczowe elementy w procesie opracowywania wyników badań. W tekście opisano również najczęściej napotykane podczas realizacji badań problemy i sposoby, w jakie można ograniczać ich wpływ na jakość gromadzonych danych.
    Article is aimed primarily at people involved in the planning the public transport behaviour research, working in the insti tutions contracting this research or acting on its behalf. The article indicates key elements guaranteing high quality research data, providing reliable basis of the construction of the assumptions for transport models. The article indicates activities to undertake during preparation of public procurement documentation and selection of bidders. It discusses possible methods to select a research sample and to prepare a questionnaire. The attention is paid on the key elements in the process of development of the research results. The article describes the most often occured problems of the research process, as well as methods to reduce their impact on the quality of collected data.

    Intensywny rozwój obszarów zurbanizowanych, oprócz korzyści gospodarczych, niesie za sobą również pewne zagrożenia. Jednym z nich są negatywne skutki wzrostu motoryzacji indywidualnej w podróżach miejskich. Odpowiedzią na potęgujące się problemy wynikające z rosnącej liczby użytkowników transportu indywidualnego ma być zarządzanie zrównoważoną mobilnością (zarządzanie zapotrzebowaniem na transport). W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję i cel tego zarządzania oraz omówiono najczęściej stosowane instrumenty i narzędzia służące do realizacji tego celu.
    Intensive development of urban areas, in addition to economic benefits, also carries certain threats. One of them are negative effects of individual transport permanent increase in cities. The response to the escalating problems resulting from the growing number of private transport users might be the sustainable mobility management (transport demand management). The paper presents the concept and goals of the management together with the dicussion on the most commonly used instruments and tools for its implementation.

    Paper describes possibilities to use advanced vehicles simulator combined with additional supporting research devices for measuring drivers' behaviour. Analyzing drivers' behaviour with driving simulators is a rapidly growing field of research, which also demands the interdisciplinary approach from different science disciplines like psychology and simulation engineering. Paper presents modern research methods in transport safety researches and devices that are used to understand better driver's behaviour inside the driving simulator, e.g. Vienna Test System and mobile eye-tracker. Paper also explains a problem of simulator sickness that frequently occurs during the studies inside the driving simulators. Main advantage of using simulators is possibility to achieve full standardization of research conditions. Visualization system based on set of four projectors and cylindrical screen with 200 degrees of vision range, which allows to completely cover the range of sight of the driver to enhance driving reality. The view in the car mirrors is presented on three LCD screens which sizes are very close to the mirrors used in real car mirrors. The scenery generated by computer simulation is moving according to the car speed in the simulation. Similarly to the passenger car simulator, simulator of truck and bus is build based on visualization system which is composed of cylindrical screen, with two hundred degrees of horizontal range of view. Simulator gives the ability to trace functioning of few different types of vehicles.

    Despite the considerable amount of research on the behaviour of drivers in road traffic the problem of defying psychological and physical features of a good driver is still exactly unsolved. Apart from physical features, which limit or preclude from operating a car, there are psychological traits, which influence drivers’ behaviour. Taking into account three basic aspects of proficiency in driving: physical fitness (determined during the medical examination), mental attitude (determined during the psychological examinations testing of mental predisposition for driving a vehicle), knowledge, skill and attitude of a driver. The mental traits seem to be even more important than physical fitness, knowledge or divers’ skills. This article presents, in particular, reasons for and predictors of risky behaviours in road traffic with a focus on variables of personality features, which potentially are the reason for hazardous behaviour. The results showed the existence of statistically significant differences in temperament and type of psychological gender between drivers demonstrating a tendency to risky behaviour on the road and those who do not have such tendencies. Also the analyses of the researches had given numerous interesting conclusions on relations between personality differences of drivers who like to take risk and the ones who do not have such inclinations. Additionally, the differences of character in the aspect of evaluating behaviours as risky were presented.

    The SmartMove project is working to advance innovative marketing and mobility solutions in eight rural and peripheral European regions and is co-funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme of the European Union. Through tailor-made strategies, it aims to provide information and encourage people to use public transport in their region. Sparsely populated rural areas in Europe are facing tremendous social changes due to shrinking and ageing populations. Because of the scattered settlement structure in these areas, the public transport network density is low and service frequency is often poor. The problems are exacerbated by increasing private car use, which, in a vicious circle, leads to further reductions in services. However, simple tools such as dialogue marketing and minor adjustments to scheduling can help change people’s perceptions. Dialogue marketing techniques have already been shown to increase passenger numbers by as much as 10 to 15 percent. Greater demand leads to higher revenues, making it possible to improve the system and attract even more passengers, turning the vicious circle into a positive loop.
    Im Projekt SmartMove werden innovative Marketing-Strategien und Mobilitätslösungen für acht verschiedene Europäische Regionen weiterentwickelt. Das Projekt wird vom EU-Förderprogramm "Intelligente Energien - Europa" kofinanziert. Mittels maßgeschneiderten Maßnahmen zielt es darauf ab, Informationen zum öffentlichen Verkehr für die Einwohner der Region bereitzustellen und dadurch diese zu motivieren, die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel vermehrt zu benützen. Dünn besiedelte, ländliche Regionen – der Schwerpunkt des Projekts – sind einer starken Veränderung unterworfen, verschärft durch die Überalterung und Abwanderung der Bevölkerung. Dies ist ein zusätzliches Problem für den öffentlichen Verkehr, hohe Verkehrsanteile des privaten Pkw sind die Folge. Dies verursacht eine Abwärtsspirale in Richtung weitere Ausdünnung der Infrastrukturen. Kleine Veränderung aber auch Bemühungen die Bevölkerung zu informieren und ein Problembewusstsein zu schaffen ist das primäre Ziel des individualisierten Marketings. In Vorprojekten konnten eine Steigerung der Fahrgäste von 10 bis 15 Prozent erzielt werden. Durch verstärkte Nachfrage steigen die Einnahmen und sie ist auch ein Bekenntnis der Bevölkerung, die Abwärtsspirale ins Gegenteil zu drehen.

    Jednym z podstawowych segmentów pasażerów transportu miejskiego są uczniowie szkół licealnych. Charakteryzują się oni specyficznymi preferencjami i zachowaniami transportowymi. W artykule przedstawiono preferencje i zachowania transportowe uczniów liceów ogólnokształcących w Gdyni i w Sopocie. Najpierw sprecyzowano zakres i metodykę badań oraz scharakteryzowano populację. Następnie zidentyfikowano cele podróży, ich rozkład czasowy oraz wykorzystywane bilety. Na tym tle zaprezentowano hierarchię ważności postulatów przewozowych, sposoby realizacji podróży miejskich oraz ocenę jakości usług. Najpierw sprecyzowano zakres i metodykę badań oraz scharakteryzowano populację. Nastepnie zidentyfikowano cele podróży, ich rozkład czasowy oraz wykorzystywane bilety. Na tym tle zaprezentowano hierarhię ważności postulatów przewozowych, sposoby realizacji podróży miejskich oraz ocenę jakości usług.
    The students of high schools are one of the basic segments of urban transport. They have specific transport preferences and behaviour. The transport preferences and behaviour of students attending high schools in Gdynia and Sopot are presented in the article. At first, the scope and methodology of the research are introduced and the population is characterized. Then the aims of travels, their time schedule and tickets used by students are indented. In reference to the given background, the hierarchy of the postulates, the means of transport used in urban travels and the quality of the services are presented.

    Automobile traffic has been recently on the rise in many post-socialist cities despite EU policies fostering public transportation and active modes of travel. Against this background, the contribution of this paper is to look deeper into the travel behaviours of residents using a survey of 887 questionnaires as well as GPS travel recordings (almost 3 billion logs) conducted in the city of Poznań (539,000 inhabitants). Based on our analysis we found that proximity to public transport and cycling infrastructure seem to be among the most important factors influencing travel behaviours of inhabitants. What is more, their accessibility affected also residential locational preferences. However, we also observed that even in neighbourhoods with good accessibility, commuting by car plays a major role.

    Turystyka jest jedną z kluczowych gałęzi gospodarki światowej, jednocześnie turyści stają się coraz częściej obiektem ataków terrorystycznych oraz innych, niebezpiecznych zdarzeń. Zdarzenia te mają miejsce zarówno w miejscu pobytu turystów, jak i w środkach transportu. Artykuł podejmuje próbę identyfikacji kluczowych zjawisk w sferze gospodarki i zachowań konsumenckich, będących wynikiem zaburzenia bezpieczeństwa w transporcie turystycznym. Rozważania oparte są na analizie literatury tematu oraz na analizie dwóch przypadków – zamachów terrorystycznych skierowanych w transport turystyczny, których dotyczą przywołane dane statystyczne, raporty i artykuły internetowe. W oparciu o zebrane informacje, zostają wskazane zaobserwowane skutki tych zdarzeń oraz działania podejmowane w celu zminimalizowania ich negatywnych efektów, jak również reakcje turystów. Przeprowadzona analiza wskazuje, że kluczowym działaniem podejmowanym przez rządy państw dotkniętych atakami terrorystycznymi oraz przez kraje pochodzenia turystów, jest przywrócenie bezpieczeństwa (w tym również komunikowanie tego faktu szerokiej publiczności), a także wspieranie lokalnej gospodarki turystycznej poprzez różne inicjatywy. Wśród turystów wskazać można na różnorodne zachowania, w tym na brak poczucia zagrożenia.
    Tourism is a leading industry on the global market, at the same time tourists are becoming more and more targeted by terrorist attacks and other dangerous events. Security events occur at destinations and in transportation services (transport facilities and means of transport). The article main purpose is to identify the effects of security disruption in travel. These effects are observed in the field of economic performance of the travel industry and in consumer behaviour. The methods used are literature review, statistical data analysis and analysis of reports and articles concerning two case studies (terrorist attacks aimed at tourists). The results show the most important actions undertaken by governments and reactions among tourists. Governments of receiving and sending countries concentrate on resuming high security levels and supporting local business. Tourists react in different ways: from cancelling their vacations to travelling to risky destinations.

    Due to the increasing costs of urban traffic congestion, new trends of consumer behaviour in passenger transportation may be observed. Among those trends three seem to be particularly significant, i.e. collaborative journeys (as a form of collaborative consumption), carsharing and helping other road users via mobile apps (as a form of consumer citizenship behaviour). The theoretic deliberations about the trends have been supplemented by results of direct quantity research presenting respondents’ opinions about contemporary consumer behaviours.

    Transport i turystyka to dwie działalności gospodarcze ściśle z sobą powiązane, jednakże ze względu na dynamikę zmian stosunkowo rzadko poddawane analizie z punktu widzenia zachowań transportowych turystów. Dlatego w niniejszym artykule zwrócono uwagę na to właśnie zagadnienie, odnosząc się do przypadku Krakowa jako znaczącego ośrodka recepcji turystycznej w Polsce. Uwzględniono przy tym nietypową sytuację, jaką była organizacja w naszym kraju i na Ukrainie Mistrzostw Europy w Piłce Nożnej UEFA Euro 2012 oraz zachowania związane z deklarowanym celem tranzytowym przyjazdu do miasta. W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań sondażowych ruchu turystycznego prowadzonych na terenie Krakowa w ostatnich latach. Należy zwrócić uwagę, że zachowania transportowe turystów zmieniają się w czasie i są odmienne w zależności od charakteru podróży. Biorąc pod uwagę środki transportu, w przyjazdach turystycznych do miasta najczęściej wykorzystuje się samochód (ruch krajowy) oraz samolot (ruch zagraniczny i poprawa w układzie ruchu krajowego). Osoby przybywające z motywacją tranzytową częściej przyjeżdżają samochodem, a z kolei megawydarzenia sportowe nieco zmieniają ten układ, kładąc większy nacisk na samolot (w tym czarter) i pociąg. Z punktu widzenia węzłów tranzytowych w przyjazdach do Krakowa najważniejsze znaczenie mają spośród polskich ośrodków: Warszawa i Katowice, a z zagranicznych – Praga, Berlin i Frankfurt.
    Transportation and tourism are business activities that are closely related but owing to dynamic changes, they are rarely analysed with regard to transportation behaviour of tourists. Therefore, this article focuses on this issue with reference to Cracow as an important tourist centre in Poland. The atypical situation connected with the organisation of 2012 UEFA European Football Championship in Poland and in Ukraine as well as behaviour related to the declared transit purpose of visiting the city were also taken into consideration. This article presents the results of surveys regarding tourist traffic that have been conducted within the area of Cracow in recent years. It should be noted that the transportation behaviour of tourists changes in time and varies depending on the nature of travel. Taking into account means of transportation, the most popular one is a car (domestic traffic) and a plane (international traffic and improvement in domestic traffic). Persons with transit motivation more frequently arrive by car, whereas, mega sporting events slightly change this situation because planes (including charter) and trains become more popular. From the point of view of transportation hubs, arrivals to Cracow are mainly from: Warsaw and Katowice in Poland and from abroad: Prague, Berlin and Frankfurt.

    Coronavirus first appeared in January 2020 and has spread dramatically in most parts of the world. In addition to exerting enormous impacts on public health and well-being, it has also affected a broad spectrum of industries and sectors, including transportation. Countries around the world have imposed restrictions on travel and participation in activities due to the outbreak of the virus. Many countries have adopted social distancing rules requiring people to maintain a safe distance. Therefore, the pandemic has accelerated the transition into a world in which online education, online shopping, and remote working are becoming increasingly prevalent. Every aspect of our life has witnessed a series of new rules, habits, and behaviours during this period, and our travel choices or behaviours are no exception. Some of these changes can be permanent or have long-lasting effects. To control this situation, these changes must first be recognised in various aspects of transportation in order to provide policies for similar situations in the future. In this regard, this study seeks to examine how transportation sectors have changed in the first waves of the pandemic. Iran has been selected as the case study in this paper. This research is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on rural transportation in Iran. This is followed by assessing the impacts of the virus on urban transportation in Tehran (the capital of Iran). The behaviour of more than 700 travellers in terms of trip purpose, travel time, and mode choice is evaluated using a questionnaire. Results indicate that the number of passengers has reduced dramatically in rural transportation systems. In such systems, considerations such as keeping social distancing, disinfection of passengers and their luggage, and unemployment of a group of personnel working in the transportation industry have been more evident. In urban transportation, education trips have dropped the most. This might relate to an increase in online teaching and health concerns. The same pattern can be seen in the passengers who used bicycles, public taxis, and other public transportation systems. Finally, during the pandemic, drivers’ speed has increased, which justifies the need for traffic calming for drivers.

    In order to understand travellers’ willingness to use the train in Petaling Jaya, this study adds four predictors - situational factors, trust, novelty seeking and external influence - to the existing model of theory of planned behaviour (TPB). The study collected research data from employees in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, resulting in valuable data of 400 participants. Results indicate that attitude, perceived behavioural control, and subjective norm are found to have positive effects on the behavioural intention of taking the train. Furthermore, novelty seeking and external influence also have positive influences on attitude. While the three antecedents of trust were found to have an indirect positive effect on commuters’ intention to take the train via attitude, subjective norm and PBC. Situational factors were found to have an indirect negative significant influence on people’s intention to take the train through perceived behavioural control.

    W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań ankietowych, których celem było określenie preferencji i zachowań komunikacyjnych podróżnych. Grupę docelową stanowili studenci i absolwenci Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie (ZUT), jak również obecni oraz byli pracownicy tejże uczelni. Z uwagi na liczbę zgromadzonych kwestionariuszy proces należy traktować jako pilotażowy (wstępny), a więc niereprezentatywny dla całej społeczności lokalnej. W przeprowadzonej analizie zwrócono szczególną uwagę na konieczność ochrony środowiska naturalnego, ale i minimalizację kosztów eksploatacyjnych.
    The paper presents the results of questionnaire survey which aimed at determination of the transport preferences and behaviours of passengers. A target group was students and graduates of the Western Pomeranian University of Technology (ZUT) in Szczecin as well as current and former employees of the same university. Considering the number of collected questionnaires, the process should be treated as a pilot (preliminary) one and therefore not being representative for the whole local community. In the carried out analysis, special attention was paid to the necessity of protecting the natural environment as well as the minimisation of operational costs.

    W artykule przedstawiono analizę skuteczności poszczególnych kanałów dystrybucji biletów z oferty Zarządu Transportu Metropolitalnego (ZTM), który jest organizatorem transportu zbiorowego na obszarze GZM. W części pierwszej scharakteryzowano sieć sprzedaży biletów emitowanych przez ZTM. Następnie porównano ją z siecią sprzedaży największych organizatorów komunikacji zbiorowej w Polsce. W kolejnej części przeanalizowano udział poszczególnych rodzajów biletów oraz poszczególnych kanałów dystrybucji w ogólnej strukturze sprzedaży ZTM. Artykuł zakończono analizą zmiany zachowań pasażerów dotyczącą zakupu biletów z uwagi na trwający na obszarze RP stan epidemii oraz związane z tym ograniczenia sanitarno-epidemiologiczne.
    The article presents an analysis of the effectiveness of various channels of ticket distribution from the offer of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ZTM), which is the organizer of public transport in the GZM area (Metropolitan Association of Upper Silesia and Dąbrowa Basin area). In the first part, the ticket sales network issued by ZTM is characterized. Then it is compared with the sales network of the biggest public transport organizers in Poland. The next part analyses the share of particular ticket types and distribution channels in the overall sales structure of ZTM. The article ends with an analysis of changes in passengers’ ticket purchasing behavior due to the ongoing epidemic in Poland and related sanitary and epidemiological restrictions.

    The paper discusses the behaviour of twenty-first century consumers, which is related to the transport services market. The objective of the article is to demonstrate the specificity of consumer behaviour in the twenty-first century, including recipients of transport services in the context of shaping actions and tools of transport services marketing. The objective is realised with the use of the following research methods: analysis and synthesis combined with the logical inference. The conducted research shows that the analysed behaviour of twenty-first century consumers influences the concept of transport services marketing. The paper is of the theoretical and conceptual character.
    В статье обсудили поведение потребителей транспортных услуг в XXI в. Цель рассуждений – указать специфику поведения пользователей транспортными услугами в контексте формирования действий и инструментов современного маркетинга транспортных услуг. Осуществляя так поставленную цель, использовали исследовательские методы анализа и синтеза вместе с логичным умозаключением. Из проведенных исследований вытекает, что анализаруемое поведение потребителей оказывает влияние на концепцию маркетинга транспортных услуг. Статья имеет теоретический характер.

    Transport studies that adopt complex analyses present methodological challenges that lead to the use of innovative techniques to address the limitations of traditional methods. In the Latin American context, people consider security as a relevant variable in their daily lives. Thus, when people travel around the city and choose a mode of transport, security becomes an important factor and should therefore be included in transport studies. However, the definition of security in terms of transport in the Colombian context remains unclear. Therefore, we examined the security perception effect on transport mode choice by addressing security as a latent variable consisting of three elements: environment, subject and transport mode. We proposed the use of virtual reality (VR) to recreate travel routes and offer participants a scenario of choice closer to the natural conditions of a trip. The participants were provided routes in the form of immersive 3D videos recreating natural trip conditions to identify their choices and travel behaviour. Recordings were made of daily scenarios and existing urban environments portraying real and active modes of transport, giving respondents an almost-natural experience. The use of 360-degree immersive videos offers a multisensory experience allowing both the capture of socioeconomic and travel information and the collection of journey perception. The experiment evaluated two environments in Medellín, Colombia (secure (E1) and insecure (E2)) and studied the effects of lighting conditions (day (D) and night (N)). A total of four videos (E1D, E1N, E2D and E2N) depicting six transport modes in tandem were assessed by 92 participants from Medellín and Bogotá, Colombia. We found that environment-associated security perception varies depending on the time of the journey (day/night) and one’s familiarity with the environment. The research results position VR as a tool that offers high potential to support transport studies. We found that people’s movements, gestures and expressions while participating in the VR experiments resembled what was expected from journeys in reality. VR constitutes a relevant tool for transport studies, as it allows for an assessment of active transport mode perceptions. It prevents participants from being exposed to the risk associated with travel to specific places and carries out several routes in different transport modes even when participants cannot or have never undertaken journeys in the modes under assessment.

    The Covid-19 pandemic impact all public spheres of city inhabitants' lives, also changed the conditions of traveling by public transport, especially in the field of personal passenger safety. The introduced limits on people in public transport vehicles and the need to maintain social distancing or cover the mouth and nose in a public transport vehicle - for various reasons - have been met with different understanding by users. The question then arose: are passengers actually complying with the rules of the pandemic when traveling by tram or bus? The paper attempts to assess the behavior of passengers, based on the opinions of people who observe these behaviors in their daily work, driving public transport vehicles. For this purpose, a survey was carried out among bus and tram drivers of the main public transport operator in Krakow. On the basis of 334 fulfilled questionnaires, it was found that - according to the drivers - passengers often quite freely approach the limits of people in vehicles, and often do not respect the social distancing, especially when alighting and boarding. However, what is optimistic, the drivers highly assessed their own safety when performing their official duties - which is extremely important in the context of ensuring the continuity of public transport during a pandemic. Only 10% of drivers considered that the current solutions to protect passengers (and drivers themselves) are sufficient, therefore they called for an increase in the scope of protective measures: an increase in the number of public transport courses (to keep existing passengers), the obligatory use of protective masks (instead of ineffective loosely obligation to cover the face and nose), or the introduction of closed driver cabins in buses (as in trams). The obtained research results are of a cognitive nature, they can be a supplement to the travel studies at this specific time. They can also provide support in taking action in the case of a return of the Covid-19 pandemic or similar incidents in the future.

    Polskie porty lotnicze pełnią kluczową funkcję w systemie wsparcia logistycznego kraju. Chcąc obsłużyć możliwie największą liczbę pasażerów powinny one poszukiwać innowacyjnych rozwiązań. Dlatego też, istotne jest by porty lotnicze dokonywały badań kryteriów wyboru pasażerskiego transportu lotniczego w celach realizacji procesów podstawowych realizowanych przez społeczeństwo. Opierając się na nich, istnieje możliwość poznania zachowań transportowych pasażerów, co pozwoliłoby na wprowadzenie zmian w strukturach organizacyjnych portów lotniczych, które skuteczniej zaspokajały ich potrzeby transportowe.
    Polish airports play a key role in the country's logistic support system. In order to serve as many passengers as possible, they should look for innovative solutions. Therefore, it is essential that airports research the criteria for selecting passenger air transport in order to implement basic processes carried out by society. Based on them, it is possible to learn about the transport behavior of passengers, which would allow for changes in the organizational structures of airports to meet their transport needs more effectively.

    This paper presents an introduction to meso-scale transport modeling and issues of human behaviour in transport systems. Along with other examples of the human ability to learn in transport systems we look at the comparison of real life data and the prediction of modeling tools for the closure of Vienna’s inner ring road during the 2008 European Football Championship (EURO 2008). Some light is shed on the scientific question, whether currently used modeling tools are able to adequately reproduce the real-life behaviour of human beings in the transport system and should be used for transport policy decision making.

    The goal of the paper is to present the concept of equity as a new approach in transport and land-use planning. This concept is consistent with the objectives of sustainable development and it is becoming more common in European and world literature. Understanding the idea of equity in the context of the transport system development is very important in creating sustainable cities and regions without discriminating any social groups and creating a cohesive society not exposed to social exclusion due to lack of access to primary and secondary activities. The paper presents some results of the preliminary analysis on transport equity in Cracow. The basic equity level which has been considered here concerns senior citizens, older people living in Cracow area, in terms of their accessibility to transport infrastructure. Taking into account living conditions of elderly pedestrians, contour measures were used, in order to determine accessibility as equity indicator.
    Artykuł stanowi przedstawienie koncepcji równości, jako nowego podejścia do planowania transportu. Podejście to jest zbieżne z celami zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz jest coraz częściej spotykane w europejskiej i światowej literaturze. Zrozumienie idei równości w kontekście rozwoju transportu jest bardzo istotne w tworzeniu zrównoważonych miast i regionów, które rozwijają się nie dyskryminując żadnych grup społecznych i tworząc spójne społeczeństwo nienarażone na wykluczenie społeczne z powodu braku dostępu do podstawowych i drugorzędnych aktywności. W pracy zaprezentowano również wyniki wstępnych analiz równości transportowej na przykładzie obszaru Krakowa. W analizach wzięto pod uwagę sytuację osób starszych, mieszkających w Krakowie, pod kątem ich dostępności do infrastruktury transportowej. Do określenia dostępności wykorzystano miary konturowe, uwzględniające uwarunkowania w poruszaniu się osób starszych.

The case study and online survey methods were used. In particular, services offered under the Traficar, Uber, and Wavelo brands were analysed. The research that was conducted made it possible to identify the determinants, as well as the advantages and disadvantages, of this type of market practice. It also allowed to develop certain recommendations for marketers interested in the methodical application of sharing services and/or products.
    Celem głównym opracowania było omówienie przykładów współdzielenia przez współczesnych konsumentów usług transportowych z rynku polskiego jako przejawu zastosowania idei ekonomii współdzielenia. Wychodząc od istoty uwzględnianej koncepcji i/lub modelu gospodarki, dokonano przeglądu dotychczasowych badań i wybrano obiekty do badań własnych autorów opracowania. Zastosowano metody studiów przypadków i ankietę internetową. W szczególności objęto analizą przedsięwzięcia oferowane pod markami Traficar, Uber i Wavelo. Przeprowadzone badania umożliwiły zidentyfikowanie uwarunkowań oraz zalet i wad tego typu praktyk rynkowych. Pozwoliły także na wypracowanie pewnych rekomendacji dla marketerów zainteresowanych metodycznym wdrażaniem współdzielenia usług i/lub produktów.
