    In this paper we introduce a transformation group connected with Poncelet’s porism. Several open questions following from our considerations end the paper.     We study the relationship between the solutions of stationary integrable partial and ordinary differential equations and coefficients of the second-order ordinary differen¬tial equations invariant with respect to one-parameter Lie group. The classical symmetry method is applied. We prove that if the coefficients of ordinary differential equation satisfy the stationary integrable partial differential equation with two independent variables then the ordinary differential equation is integrable by quadratures. If special solutions of integrable partial differential equations are chosen, then the coefficients satisfy the stationary KdV equations. It was shown that the Ermakov equation belong to a class of these equations. In the framework of the approach we obtained the similar results for generalized Riccati equations. By using operator of invariant differentiation we describe a class of higher order ordinary differential equations for which the group-theoretical method enables us to reduce the order of ordinary differential equation.

    It is shown that any μ ∈ C is an infinite multiplicity eigenvalue of the Steklov smoothing operator Sh acting on the space [formula]. For μ ≠ 0 the eigenvalue-eigenfunction problem leads to studying a differential-difference equation of mixed type. An existence and uniqueness theorem is proved for this equation. Further a transformation group is defined on a countably normed space of initial functions and the spectrum of the generator of this group is studied. Some possible generalizations are pointed out.

    Opis:
    In order to classify digital spaces in terms of digital-homotopic theoretical tools, a recent paper by Han (2006b) (see also the works of Boxer and Karaca (2008) as well as Han (2007b)) established the notion of regular covering space from the viewpoint of digital covering theory and studied an automorphism group (or Deck's discrete transformation group) of a digital covering. By using these tools, we can calculate digital fundamental groups of some digital spaces and classify digital covering spaces satisfying a radius 2 local isomorphism (Boxer and Karaca, 2008; Han, 2006b; 2008b; 2008d; 2009b). However, for a digital covering which does not satisfy a radius 2 local isomorphism, the study of a digital fundamental group of a digital space and its automorphism group remains open. In order to examine this problem, the present paper establishes the notion of an ultra regular covering space, studies its various properties and calculates an automorphism group of the ultra regular covering space. In particular, the paper develops the notion of compatible adjacency of a digital wedge. By comparing an ultra regular covering space with a regular covering space, we can propose strong merits of the former.

    Celem tekstu jest opisanie roli ideologii w kształtowaniu transformacji oraz wpływie ideologii na hamowanie procesów przemian. Wagę czynników ideologicznych podkreślano w literaturze szczególnie w pierwszych kilku latach po transformacji. W artykule postarano się pokazać, że za spowalnianiem procesów transformacji kryją się nie tylko materialne i partykularne interesy, ale także przekonania ideologiczne. Wskazano na to, że negatywny światopogląd na gospodarkę rynkową zasadniczo przyczynia się do zatrzymywania lub cofania transformacji. Z jednej strony pozwala on na rozwój procesu politycznego odwracającego przemiany. Z drugiej zaś sprzyja formowaniu się alternatywnych instytucji społecznych, które zastępują funkcjonowanie gospodarki rynkowej. Dlatego trwałe przeprowadzenie przemiany gospodarczej wymaga trwałej przemiany w myśleniu, a także wykształcenia społecznie akceptowalnych instytucji, które ochronią transformację.
    The goal of the paper is to describe the role of ideology in shaping transformation and describe the influence of ideology on inhibiting processes of change. The importance of ideological factors was particularly strongly emphasised in the literature during the first years of transformation. The author attempts to demonstrate that what hinders transformation is not only material interests but also doctrinal factors. The paper sets out to prove that a negative attitude to market economy is capable of stopping or reversing transformation. On the one hand, it allows for the development of political processes which can reverse changes. On the other hand, it allows for creating alternative social institutions which serve as a substitute for the market economy. Therefore, permanent economic change requires a profound change in social thinking, as well as socially acceptable institutions which can secure the transformation process.

    We introduce a new notion of covering projection E → X of a topological space X which reduces to the usual notion if X is locally connected. We use locally constant presheaves and covering reduced sieves to find a pro-groupoid π crs (X) and an induced category pro (π crs (X), Sets) such that for any topological space X the category of covering projections and transformations of X is equivalent to the category pro (π crs (X), Sets). We also prove that the latter category is equivalent to pro (π CX, Sets), where π CX is the Čech fundamental pro-groupoid of X. If X is locally path-connected and semilocally 1-connected, we show that π crs (X) is weakly equivalent to π X, the standard fundamental groupoid of X, and in this case pro (π crs (X), Sets) is equivalent to the functor category $Sets^{π X}$. If (X,*) is a pointed connected compact metrisable space and if (X,*) is 1-movable, then the category of covering projections of X is equivalent to the category of continuous $\check π_1 (X,*)$-sets, where $\check π_1 (X,*)$ is the Čech fundamental group provided with the inverse limit topology.
