Opis:
The aim of the following paper is to discuss the image of migrants presented inselected culture-clash comedies, and its didactical contribution to transcultural learning. The intersectional analysis of three film sequences conducted in the framework of university classes (seminars and workshops) on intercultural communication is described as a starting point for discussion and reflection upon the stereotyped, and popularised images of migrants as people with specific qualities and skills, certain social backgrounds, and typical patterns of behaviour. The critical analysis of such images supports transcultural learning, which is understood, among others, as bringing aspects of the development of individual as well as collective identities into question, and acknowledging heterogeneity and diversity as cultural and social enrichment.

Opis:
The talk discusses the place of emotions in human language competence at the interface of two languages and cultures. It aims to identify possibilities for non-native speakers of L2 to raise effectively emotional awareness in L2 didactic contexts.The relevance of general language awareness raising is presented, especially as the scope and use of L2 emotion concepts are shown to require of the L2 learner, at some stage, conscious apprehension and awareness of L2 input. The place and role of L1 and L2 materials generated from monolingual and parallel language corpora in enhancement of emotional awareness in FL classroom are exemplified and discussed.

Opis:
The article describes CISV: a charitable, international, non-political, volunteer organization promoting peace education and cross-cultural friendship. It also provides some observations connected with intercultural and transcultural experiental learning applied in its programmes offering experiences unique in both scope and age range. The first part of the paper concentrates on the beginnings of the organization founded by dr Doris Twitchell Allen and its development for over 60 years, also in Poland. The second part provides some information with regard to the statement of CISV’s educational purpose and outlines the programmes offered by the organization. The third part focuses on experiental education model (the opportunity to learn from direct experience) and multi-dimensions of intercultural competence considered in critical discourses of, for example, K.Lewin, D.A. Kolb, D.T. Allen, A.E. Fantini, or T. S. Kuhn. The aim of the considerations in this paper is to stress that „learning with a difference,” building awareness involving reflection and friendship make the educational experience permanent. We, as teachers, should learn from those who succeed in making educational practice adventurous as well as exciting and over 60 years of CISV’s work is a good model for us to follow.

The ethnic and cultural variety of the German speaking societies influences all aspects of social existence. More and more citizens with Turkish background take part in the political and cultural life of their German-speaking home countries. This article aims to present the main tendencieswithin the German-Turkish cinema and to show the potential of these films, which can be used for fostering intercultural competence in German as a Foreign Language classes.
