    Opis:
    This work fits into the context of our studies on traffic simulation for computer and telecommunication networks [1–5]. The technique that we use is based on complex queuing network models that allow us to simulate the functioning of network devices, and the traffic flows between them. In a previous work [2] we defined a library of objects for the modeling of the computer network. This library also models the network traffic induced by the execution of web applications run in a distributed fashion on various network devices. In this work we describe the changes applied to the service procedures of some library objects, and we develop a specific study for the evaluation of the execution times of three types of applications: 1. Navigation 2. Download Manager 3. Mobile Agents.

    Opis:
    This study is included in a research programme developed by the authors at the University of Studies in Camerino for the construction of traffic flow simulators in computer and telecommunication networks [1–4]. The article contains the definition of a library of object types whose architecture is based on the queue networks, for a simulation of the VOIP traffic in P2P networks. Basing on this library, we simulate the traffic in a P2P network that is locally implemented with three different technology types: 1. Fast Ethernet, 2. Wireless, 3. ADSL2+. In this context, we simulate traffic flows due to file-sharing applications in the network and due to voice communications through the VOIP technology. Thus, we evaluate the impact of the VOIP traffic for procedures of file-sharing in a P2P network.

    Opis:
    The aim of this work is to define a procedure for the modelling of a computer network for the simulation of the network traffic induced by the execution of web applications. The work consists in describing the objects of a library defined for modelling both the hardware and the software of the system. These are specific objects with an architecture based on complex queuing service structures. The objects of the library are used to both build the computer network model and describe the operation of a web application executed on the network in a distributed fashion.

    W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe informacje dotyczące pracowni laboratoryjnej wyposażonej w symulator prowadzenia ruchu kolejowego i działania urządzeń srk, zaprojektowanej i uruchomionej na Wydziale Inżynierii Lądowej Politechniki Krakowskiej. Przedstawiono funkcjonalność symulatora oraz możliwości szkoleń prowadzonych z jego wykorzystaniem. Omówiono dwa przykładowe scenariusze szkoleń. Wskazano możliwości wykorzystania symulatora nie tylko w procesie dydaktycznym, lecz również dla potrzeb podmiotów szeroko rozumianego rynku kolejowego.
    The article presents basic information about the laboratory laboratory equipped with the simulator of railway traffic management and operation of srk devices, designed and launched at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Cracow University of Technology. The functionality of the simulator and the possibilities of training conducted with its use are presented. Two examples of training scenarios are discussed. The possibilities of using the simulator were indicated not only in the didactic process, but also for the needs of entities in the broadly understood railway market.

    W artykule opisano konfigurację w zakresie sprzętu i oprogramowania stanowisk laboratoryjnych warstwy podstawowej, obejmującej symulatory posterunków ruchu rozmieszczonych na wirtualnej sieci kolejowej. Powstające na Wydziale Inżynierii Lądowej Politechniki Krakowskiej laboratorium inżynierii ruchu kolejowego ma służyć doskonaleniu procesu dydaktycznego, zwłaszcza w zakresie prowadzenia, organizowania i nadzorowania ruchu pociągów. Podstawowym narzędziem informatycznym, wykorzystanym na poszczególnych stanowiskach laboratoryjnych jest symulator prowadzenia ruchu kolejowego isdr.
    The configuration of hardware and software for laboratory positions of the base layer, which includes simulators, traffic posts located on the virtual rail network have been presented in the article. The rail traffic engineering laboratory setting up at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Cracow University of Technology aims to improve the educational process, especially in conducting, organizing and supervising the movement of trains. The isdr simulator of railway traffic is the main IT tool deployed at different lab positions.

    The MONALISA 2.0 (ML 2.0) project aims to define the Sea Traffic Management concept (STM), where information is shared amongst all stakeholders in the maritime transport chain, including nautical officers, ports, administrations, etc. Thus, a communication and information centered approach for data exchange by System Wide Information Management principles changing from surface-based- to voyage-based-operations has been proposed. Amongst others, testing and verifying the feasibility and benefits of STM and its solutions shall be done in the European Maritime Simulator Network (EMSN), a macro simulation environment for ship handling simulators. This is an open IEEE 1278 standard network protocol enabling interactive communication between distributed simulation environments. Based on an introduction into ML 2.0, the proposed STM concept is introduced, its expected impacts are listed and Key Performance Objectives are derived. The backgrounds on the EMSN are given and it is shown how it can assist in assessing the impact of STM’s Key Performance Indicators.

    Supervisors of all existing and planned roads of trans-european transport network TEN-T, in accordance with Directive 2008/96/WE, are obliged to perform regular road safety audits (RSA). In Poland alone, this duty belongs to GDDKiA and 27 mayors of cities with county rights, and includes 4800 km of road network. EYEVID project is meeting this need - applying tools and methodology to perform RSA over the most important aspect of road safety – visibility. Use of eye-tracking devices and high class driving simulators in RSA introduce to EU new quality of audit services. Proposed solution would be first of the kind and one of the first in EU, with scientifically based methodology, which will support so far used expert assessment. Description of the content of the paper, obtained results and conclusions.
    Unia Europejska podejmuje działania zmierzające do zmniejszenia ryzyka związanego z użytkowaniem infrastruktury drogowej. Jednym z istotnych elementów wpływających na poziom zagrożenia uczestników ruchu drogowego jest architektura i stan techniczny infrastruktury. W celu ujednolicenia procedur ocen nowo-budowanych dróg i ich otoczenia, w obszarze Unii Europejskiej wprowadzono Dyrektywę 2008/96/WE, która nakłada obowiązek stosowania audytów na wszystkich eksploatowanych i projektowanych drogach transeuropejskiej sieci transportowej TEN-T. Tego obowiązku musi w Polsce dopełnić Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad oraz 27 prezydentów miast na prawach powiatów, którzy nadzorują łącznie około 4800 km dróg tzw. sieci TEN-T w Polsce. Naprzeciw nowej potrzebie rynkowej wychodzi projekt EYEVID, którego celem jest wytworzenie zaawansowanych narzędzi i metodologii oceny najważniejszego aspektu bezpieczeństwa na drodze – widoczności. W tym celu przewiduje się wykorzystanie urządzeń okulograficznych i wysokiej klasy symulatorów jazdy. W efekcie, zostanie opracowane interaktywne narzędzie wspomagające ocenę infrastruktury drogowej w aspekcie widoczności. Badania będą zatem prowadzone w warunkach zbliżonych do rzeczywistych. W artykule opisano założenia przyjęte w projekcie, planowane efekty i sposób ich realizacji
