The purpose of this article is to show the need for recreation in the context of foreign leisure trips of administrative staff of selected universities in zachodniopomorskie (West Pomeranian) voivodship. It is an essential element of health behavior of each individual. This work shows the awareness of people in relation to the organization of the rest – taking into account both the destination, means of transport, as well as hotel animations. With regard to the aspect of health, attention should be paid to proper preparation for the trip.

Ever greater numbers of people with disabilities feel the need to spend time actively, travel or just leave the house.The inner need alone is not, of course, the only condition for the occurrence of tourist activity. One prerequisiteis associated with access to information, and the other is the elimination of barriers at an architectural or sociallevel. Tourism is one of the most pleasant and diverse forms of rehabilitation, which fulfils many functions in thelife of a disabled person with a medical, biological, social or stimulating character. When engaging in tourism,people with disabilities take up the challenge of overcoming their own limitations on both physical and mentallevels. The aim of the article is to identify the functions of tourist activity in the lives of people with disabilities.

The aim of this article is to present biographical narratives about tourist destinations retained in memories of seniors from the period of their youth, i.e. the 60s, 70s and 80s of the last century. The author’s intention was to retrieve those distant memories during narrative interviews with respondents and use them to reconstruct information about tourist destinations. The respondents were not asked any specific questions about their holiday memories and were allowed to choose what they wanted to recall. The preferences revealed during the interviews resemble contemporary trends. It can therefore be concluded that despite the passage of time and all kinds of changes that have taken place over several decades, tourists are invariably attracted to the same destinations.

Staying in social groups is inseparably connected with the process of socialization and upbringing. Educational environments play a significant role in shaping human attitudes, including those towards tourist activity. Family and school are part of those educational environments whose impact is of a special nature. The main objective is to present the social factors conditioning tourist activity and destinations among Chicago Polonia. Among these factors, the family situation, family patterns, a lack of family tradition, membership of an organization, an individual desire to discover new places and a lack of free time have been distinguished. The aim is to check whether affiliation to an organization influences a greater frequency of tourist trips of Chicago Polonia and whether it has an impact on the choice of tourist destination.

W artykule przedstawiono zróżnicowanie aktywności turystycznej mieszkańców Węgrowa w latach 2014-2016. W pracy skupiono się na analizach dotyczących ogólnego poziomu uczestnictwa w turystyce tak krajowej, jak i zagranicznej, dokonując analiz jego zróżnicowania w najważniejszych przekrojach społeczno-demograficznych. Do analiz wykorzystano badania przeprowadzone w styczniu 2017 r., na 100-osobowej próbie mieszkańców Węgrowa. W pracy zidentyfikowano: średnią liczbę krajowych i zagranicznych wyjazdów turystycznych w podziale na krótkoterminowe i długoterminowe, główne cele podróży oraz kierunki. Uzyskane wyniki badań jednoznacznie wskazują, iż mieszkańcy Węgrowa preferują aktywny wypoczynek realizowany na obszarze Polski. Stwarza to szansę na wzmocnienie i wykorzystanie potencjału turystycznego kraju w przyszłości i jednocześnie stanowi czynnik ożywienia polskiej gospodarki turystycznej.
The article presents the diversification of tourist activity of the inhabitants of Węgrów in 2014-2016. The work focuses on analyzes of the overall level of participation in tourism, both domestic and foreign, analyzing its diversity in the most important socio-demographic sections. The research was carried out in January 2017 on a 100-person sample of residents of Węgrów. The work identified: average number of domestic and foreign tourist trips broken down into short-term and long-term, main travel motives and destinations. Obtained research results clearly indicate that the inhabitants of Węgrów prefer active rest on the territory of Poland. This creates an opportunity to strengthen and use the tourist potential of the country in the future and at the same time is a factor in reviving the Polish tourist economy.

Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie analizy dotyczącej aktywności turystycznej seniorów w Kielcach w latach 2015–2019. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na preferencje, motywy oraz ewentualne ograniczenia dotyczące podejmowania aktywności turystycznej przez osoby starsze. Przyjęto, że senior to osoba w wieku co najmniej 55 lat. W artykule prezentowane są wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w 2020 r. wśród kieleckich seniorów (n = 371). Sporządzona analiza wykazała zależności między wiekiem, wykształceniem, sytuacją materialną oraz kondycją zdrowotną a aktywnością turystyczną osób starszych, a także dowiodła, że w dzisiejszych czasach aktywność ta jest dla seniorów bardzo istotnym elementem stylu życia.
The aim of this study is to determine the tourist activity of ‘senior citizens’ in Kielce in 2015–2019. Particular attention is paid to their preferences, motives and possible restrictions on tourism activity. It is assumed that a ‘senior citizen’ is a person at least 55 years old. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among ‘senior citizens’ from Kielce (n = 371) in 2020. The analysis showed significant dependencies between age, education, their financial and health conditions and tourist activity, and also showed that nowadays it is a very important element of their lifestyle.

Tourism is the world’s largest industry and one of the fastest growing sectors, accounting for over one-third of the value of total worldwide services trade. The importance of tourism in economic terms and Employment to the extent that it can be Driving force for the economy of any country. Investment in fact the use of limited resources such as money, material resources, manpower and natural resources in order to achieve the objectives of a country or an institution. Obviously, if you do not use these resources well, country or institution investors will face losses. In order to avoid such losses should any investment plan carefully studied and evaluated and judged based on criteria pre are strongly recommended. The importance of investment in the process of economic development in most theories of economic development have been emphasized. Due to lack of investment and proper allocation of resources necessary to stimulate economic growth, it is necessary to invest resources in the country's relative advantages of a properly be identified. The study population included 80 faculty members and administrators of agencies in the city. After collecting the questionnaires and statistical analysis showed that investment in the tourism sector with new opportunities And attract significant funding and promotion of a culture of solidarity.

The article analyzes data from a pilot study conducted among people above 55 years of age living in Podlaskie Voivodeship. The results suggest that seniors from the Podlaskie voivodeship mostly prefer sightseeing trips (26%) and recreation (26%), most carrying them out in the company of family (46%). They are willing to go on both short term (35%) and long term visits (29%). As a means of transport the respondents mainly indicated the car (33%). Most frequently they independently organize their trips (51%), and in the 75% of cases they finance them with their own funds. On the basis of a comparative analysis of the obtained results with the results of research conducted by the Pretendent Research Corporation on behalf of the Minister of Sport and Tourism in 2010, it should be noted that despite the many differences in other spheres of life, seniors from the Podlaskie have quite similar, but not identical needs of and experiences in the field of tourism activity, as the remaining part of the Polish population above 55 years of age.
W artykule przeanalizowano dane uzyskane z badania pilotażowego przeprowadzonego wśród mieszkańców powyżej 55 roku życia zamieszkujących województwo podlaskie. Uzyskane wyniki sugerują, że seniorzy z województwa podlaskiego preferują w głównej mierze wyjazdy, mające na celu zwiedzanie (26%) i wypoczynek (26%), najczęściej realizując je w towarzystwie rodziny (46%). Są skłonni do odbywania zarówno wyjazdów krótkoterminowych (35%), jak i długoterminowych (29%). Jako środek transportu badani wskazują głównie samochód (33%). Najczęściej samodzielnie organizują swoje podróże (51%), jednocześnie w 75% przypadków finansując je ze środków własnych. Na podstawie dokonanej analizy porównawczej otrzymanych wyników z rezultatami badań prowadzonych przez Pretendent Korporację Badawczą na zlecenie ministra sportu i turystyki w 2010 roku, należy zauważyć, że pomimo wielu różnic w innych sferach życia, seniorzy z województwa podlaskiego mają dość podobne, lecz nie identyczne, potrzeby i doświadczenia w zakresie aktywności turystycznej, co pozostała część polskiego społeczeństwa powyżej 55 roku życia.

W ciągu ostatnich lat turystyka stała się szybko rozwijającym się sektorem gospodarki ogólnoświatowej. Ma duże znaczenie zarówno społeczne, jak i gospodarcze w krajach rozwijających się i tych rozwiniętych. Turystyka ma charakter wielowymiarowy, dlatego jest rozpatrywana w różnych kontekstach, m.in. społecznym, ekonomicznym, psychologicznym, kulturowym oraz przestrzennym. Uczestnictwo w turystyce, a co się z tym wiąże – wybór destynacji turystycznych, to przedmiot niniejszego artykułu. Jego celem jest rozpoznanie determinant aktywności turystycznej i wyboru miejsc recepcji turystycznych wśród studentów uczelni województwa małopolskiego. Na potrzeby realizacji celu zostały przeprowadzone badania ankietowe wśród studentów.
In recent years, tourism has become a rapidly growing sector of the global economy. It is of great social and economic importance in both developing and developed countries. Tourism is multidimensional, which is why it is considered in various contexts, including social, economic, psychological, cultural and spatial. Participation in tourism, and thus the choice of tourist destinations will become the subject of the article. Its purpose will be to recognize the determinants of tourist activity and the choice of tourist reception destinations among students. For the purposes of this goal, student surveys will be conducted.

The objective of this study is to present the barriers in undertaking tourist and recreational activity by disabled people. Methods. Diagnostic examinations (survey) were conducted with the application of a survey questionnaire on people with various level and type of disability (n = 100, 40 men, 60 women). The respondents were asked to indicate the barriers that – in their opinions – reduce participation of the disabled people in the tourism movement. Results. The respondents indicated that the financial issues constituted the largest barrier (economic barrier). This results from the fact that the disabled often have a worse position on the labour market, they earn less and, on the other hand, the products and tourist services adjusted to their needs are usually more expensive. This is – to a degree – related to the next barrier – an organizational one that the respondents mentioned as well. Conclusions. On the basis of the conducted study it can be stated that participation of the disabled in tourism is limited and this results from both the external barriers (financial, architectural) as well as the internal ones (psychological, social).
Celem niniejszego opracowania jest ukazanie barier w podejmowaniu aktywności turystycznej i rekreacyjnej przez osoby z niepełnosprawnością. Metody. Przeprowadzono badania diagnostyczne (sondażowe) za pomocą kwestionariusza ankiety na osobach z różnym stopniem i rodzajem niepełnosprawności (n=100, 40 mężczyzn, 60 kobiet). Respondenci zostali poproszeni o wskazanie barier, które – ich zdaniem – osobom z dysfunkcjami najbardziej ograniczają udział w ruchu turystycznym. Wyniki. Respondenci wskazali, iż największą barierę stanowią kwestie finansowe (bariera ekonomiczna). Wynika to z faktu, iż niepełnosprawni mają często gorszą pozycję na rynku pracy, zarabiają mniej, a z drugiej strony dostosowane do ich potrzeb produkty i usługi turystyczne są zazwyczaj droższe. Wiąże się to poniekąd z kolejną barierą – organizacyjną, na którą również respondenci zwrócili uwagę. Wnioski. Na podstawie przeprowadzonego badania można stwierdzić, iż udział osób niepełnosprawnych w turystyce jest ograniczony i wynika to z barier zewnętrznych (finansowych, architektonicznych), ale również barier wewnętrznych (psychologicznych, społecznych).

This article presents the international and domestic diversification of tourist activity. In the former case, it focuses on analyses of the general level of tourist activity, expressed in the ‘tourist activity rate’, while with regards to the inhabitants of Poland, analyses were conducted on the diversification of tourist activity across various socio-demographic categories. For international comparisons, the wide-ranging research conducted by EUROSTAT in 2011 on representative samples of the inhabitants of 32 European countries was used. The diversification of Polish tourist activity in the context of social exclusion, on the other hand, is presented on the basis of the author's research and calculations. Statistical analyses were employed: Kendall's Tau-b rank correlation coefficient and cluster analysis.

The main objective of the article is to discuss the determinants of tourist activity. The own model of tourism activity and destination for the whole American population, including the external and internal factors will be described in the article. The results of the empirical research conducted in the group of 1014 people, divided into 7 age subgroups will be presented. The most important factors and inhibitors (barriers) determining tourist activity and the choice of tourist destination by the Chicago Poles will be analyzed. The selected indicators of tourism organization will be depicted and it will be shown whether the aspects, such as tourist development and the conditions for practising various sports disciplines determine the tourist activity and the choice of destination among the conducted research group.
Głównym celem artykułu jest opracowano czynniki, które wpływają na aktywność turystyczną. W artykule omówiono własny model aktywności i destynacji turystycznej dla ogółu amerykańskiej populacji z uwzględnieniem czynników zewnętrznych oraz wewnętrznych. Autorka przedstawiło wyniki badań empirycznych, które przeprowadziła na 1014 osobach (z podziałem na 7 podgrup wiekowych). Przeanalizowano najważniejsze czynniki oraz inhibitory (bariery) decydujące o aktywności turystycznej oraz wyborze destynacji turystycznej przez Polonię zamieszkującą Chicago. Omówiono wybrane wskaźniki organizacji turystyki i takie aspekty, jak zagospodarowanie turystyczne oraz dobre warunki do uprawiania różnych dyscyplin sportowych, które to decydują o aktywności turystycznej i wyborze destynacji wśród ankietowanej grupy badawczej.

As a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, we are facing challenges of the social and economic crisis. Its effects are difficult to estimate, but the impact on the tourism industry is undeniable. This is also true of the behavior of consumers of tourism services, whose attitudes towards travel are likely to change radically. The aim of the study presented in this article is to determine how Polish tourists have changed their travel plans and the way they organize their travels during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors argue that the pandemic is an inhibitor of tourist activity. Data for the study were collected using an online pilot survey of 190 Polish adults. The first part of the questionnaire included general demographic questions about the respondents. The main part was divided into three sections related to COVID-19 and regarding: 1) changes in their occupational status and financial well-being, 2) their travel plans, and 3) their willingness to use peer-to-peer accommodation (e.g. Airbnb). The results show that the pandemic is not only an inhibitor of tourist activity, but can also trigger the substitution effect in the tourism market. Potential tourists can choose not to buy tourism services and instead spend their money on other forms of leisure (“external” substitution outside the tourist market) or can choose a more competitively priced tourism service (“internal” substitution). The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the financial well-being and occupational status of some respondents and the vast majority of respondents have had to modify or cancel their holiday plans. While the pandemic may help to stimulate domestic tourism, the preference for self-organized holiday trips, expressed by the respondents, herald further problems of tour operators. Although the financial well-being of many respondents has deteriorated, the number of those interested in cheaper accommodation for future trips was much smaller compared to those who reported such a preference before the pandemic.

The process of organizing school trips should include such didactic elements as teaching, education, integration and recreation, as well as take into account the principles of a healthy lifestyle associated with the renewal and regeneration of psychophysical strength. Teachers organizing such excursions should, already in the process of planning, be guided by the values, potential benefits and attractiveness of the travel destinations. Health resorts, where the local climate creates optimum conditions for relaxation, constitute important travel destinations of trips organized for children and teenagers. The purpose of this article is to present towns and villages that are classified as health resorts as a reception space, which due to the qualities of their natural and cultural environment can influence the tourist activity of primary and middle school students. School tourism in the selected health resorts has been characterized in this paper for the purpose of conducting research.
Podczas organizacji wycieczek szkolnych powinno uwzględniać się takie elementy dydaktyczno-wychowawcze jak nauczanie, wychowanie, integracja czy rekreacja, przy jednoczesnym uwzględnieniu zasad zdrowego stylu życia związanego z odnową i regeneracją sił psychofizycznych. Nauczyciele, pełniąc rolę organizatorów wycieczek, już w trakcie planowania wyjazdów powinni kierować się walorami środowiska miejsca pobytu i jego potencjalnymi korzyściami. Ważnymi kierunkami wśród wyjazdów dzieci i młodzieży szkolnej są miejscowości uzdrowiskowe, których lokalny klimat stwarza optymalne warunki do wypoczynku. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie miejscowości mających status uzdrowiska jako przestrzeni recepcyjnej, której wysokie walory środowiska przyrodniczo-kulturowego mogą wpływać na aktywność turystyczną uczniów szkół podstawowych i gimnazjalnych. Na potrzeby badań scharakteryzowano szkolny ruch turystyczny w wybranych uzdrowiskach.

Celem badania przeprowadzonego przez autorkę było określenie wpływu wybranych cech (demograficznych, społecznych, ekonomicznych) na aktywność turystyczną osób z niepełnosprawnością. W badaniu wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, technikę ankiety rozdawanej i elektronicznej. Analiza treści kwestionariusza umożliwiła wytypowanie pytań wskazujących na aktywność turystyczną osób z niepełnosprawnością, dla których przeprowadzona została procedura badania związków między zmiennymi a wybranymi cechami charakteryzującymi respondentów.
The purpose of the study conducted by the author was to determine the impact of a group of selected characteristics on the tourist activity presented by people with disabilities. The method of a diagnostic survey and the technique of distributed and electronic questionnaire were used in the study. The analysis of the research questionnaire content allowed selecting questions (X variables) describing the specific aspect of tourism activity performed by the disabled for which a procedure based on analysing correlations between these variables and the characteristics of the respondents will be carried out.

Subject and purpose of work: The aim of the conducted research and analyzes was the attempt to assess the impact of selected factors over tourist activity of people with disabilities and factors related to the immediate environment of people with disabilities Materials and methods: A total of 5 000 respondents were subjected to the quantitative research. Participants of the research were adults with legally recognized disabilities. In the research, there was used the method of a diagnostic survey. Results: Tourist activity of disabled people living in rural areas in Poland concerns only about 50% of respondents. Leaving the place of permanent residence in a free time is the most often declared by young and middle-aged people with higher, secondary and post-secondary education, professionally active, married people with mental and sensory disabilities. Conclusions: Factors stimulating participation in tourism are the level of education and professional activity of respondents. In the assessment of respondents the important factor is also a general family situation.

The features of development of inbound and internal tourism, excursion activity in the Ternopil oblast are exposed in the article. The analysis of tourist activity of touristic agents and tour operators, directions and structure of tourist streams of the Ternopil oblast suggestions of tourist enterprises and level of tourist market of area development is conducted. The special attention is paid to the tourist infrastructure, namely to establishments of placing, feed and leisure. Absence of specialized programs for people of senior age, that elect memorial, biographic or religiously-sentimental tours that are organized, as a rule, without participation of tourist enterprises of the area is marked, and also not enough developed infrastructure, low quality of tourist services, not formed the internal touristic product are mentioned as the components that prevent market from tourist services development.

Celem artykułu jest analiza aktywności turystycznej emerytów i rencistów zamieszkujących województwo zachodniopomorskie a w szczególności wykrycie powiązań pomiędzy zmiennymi charakteryzującymi ich wyjazdy turystyczne. Jako narzędzie badawcze wykorzystano wielowymiarową analizę korespondencji. Ze względu na dość dużą liczbę wariantów analizowanych zmiennych zastosowano metodę Warda, która umożliwiła wyznaczenie powiązań pomiędzy wariantami zmiennych.
The purpose of the article is an analysis of tourism activity and pensioners living in West County in particular, to detect relationships between variables characterizing their vacations. The study used a multidimensional analysis of the correspondence. Due to the relatively large number of variants of the analyzed variables using Ward method, which allowed setting the links between the variants of variables.

In the article was taken an issue of the tourist opinion on the tourist activity and perception of two selected middle coastal towns Ustka and Łeba. The results show that both towns were visited by the tourists coming from all parts of Poland. The travels were most often organized independently by car with accommodation in private rooms and boarding houses. The most attractive elements for tourists in both towns were indicated the elements directly linked with theirs location as sea, dunes, lighthouses, festival and events or pier.
Najczęściej odwiedzanymi destynacjami turystycznymi zarówno w skali kraju, jak i świata są obszary nadmorskie. Według Kurka ponad 50% wszystkich podroży jest związanych z miejscowościami nadmorskimi. W artykule dokonano porównania aktywności turystycznej wybranej grupy turystów odwiedzających miejscowości nadmorskie środkowego odcinka wybrzeża Bałtyku. Posłużono się w tym celu studium porównawczym osób wypoczywających w Łebie oraz Ustce. Jako materiał źródłowy wykorzystano wyniki anonimowych badań ankietowych, które zostały przeprowadzone w obu miejscowościach w pierwszej dekadzie lipca w latach 2006 i 2007 przez studentów geografii (specjalność turystyka) w trakcie ćwiczeń terenowych. W badaniach wzięło udział około 900 turystów (400 w Łebie oraz 500 w Ustce). Głównym celem badań była analiza aktywności turystycznej w obu miejscowościach na podstawie zasięgu przestrzennego pochodzenia turystów, środków transportu wykorzystywanych w podroży, formy zakwaterowania w trakcie pobytu w obu miejscowościach, planowanej długości pobytu oraz organizatorów przyjazdu. Bardzo istotnym elementem prowadzonych badań było również określenie głównych atrybutów atrakcyjności turystycznej obu badanych miejscowości.

It was assessed the possibility of developing agritourism in the Narew National Park. The assessment is based on the survey conducted in the months of May and June 2015 with the participation of 96 owners of agritourism farms from this area. Most of the respondents started their own agritourism business using foreign funding sources, such as European funds and bank loans rather than their own means. Financial resources were mainly spent on the development of investments connected with new agritourist undertakings or the extension of existing facilities or their modernization and adaptation, mainly concerning accommodation. Farmers see the biggest limitations in the development of agritourism in the underdevelopment of its infrastructure, the lack of own capital as well as incomplete knowledge in the field of catering, promotion and marketing as well as the principles of keeping the accounts.

Research on tourist activity is considered to be particularly troublesome. Due to the lack of one, coherent definition of tourism there occur considerable problems the results of studies carried out in various research centres are compared. The intensity of the problem increases in the case of the research on tourist activity in physical culture, sociology and psychology. In this study a new, so far not applied, definition of tourist activity is presented. It could be helpful in research on tourism, based on criteria of distinguishing between tourists. A subjective criterion allows us to distinguish between people who feel they are tourists, and who subjectively feel that what they do can be regarded as the phenomenon of tourism.
Badania nad aktywnością turystyczną sprawiają badaczom wiele problemów. Przy braku jednej, spójnej definicji turystyki pojawiają się trudności z porównywalnością wyników badań prowadzonych przez różne ośrodki. Szczególnie problem ten pojawia się podczas badań aktywności turystycznej z zakresu kultury fizycznej, socjologii i psychologii. W opracowaniu przedstawiono propozycję nowego, dotąd niestosowanego, definiowania aktywności turystycznej. Może ono ułatwić badania nad turystyką, na podstawie kryteriów wyodrębniania turystów. Według kryterium subiektywnego można wyodrębnić do badań osoby, które czują się turystami, w sposób subiektywny odczuwają, że to, co robią, zalicza się do zjawiska turystyki.

Holiday or tourist trips are gradually becoming part of the lifestyle of more and more Poles. The statement can be based on both research results on the trips accomplished, and declarations concerning future plans. However, those who travelled outside their place of permanent residence in 2012 still constituted the minority of the adult population. In 2012, as in the previous years, Poles most often practised domestic tourism (40% of the population); 15% of the Polish population rested abroad. Those who went to foreign countries most often chose European directions, especially Germany.
