The aim of this paper is to assess the evidence on Cyrenaic solipsism and show how and why some views endorsed by the Cyrenaics appear to be committing them to solipsism. After evaluating the fascinating case for Cyrenaic solipsism, the paper shall deal with an (often) underestimated argument on language attributed to the Cyrenaics, whose logic – if I reconstruct it well – implies that after all the Cyrenaics cannot have endorsed a radical solipsism. Yet, by drawing an illuminating parallel with Wittgenstein’s argument on private language and inner sensations, a case is to be made for the Cyrenaics to have subscribed to a sort of ‘residual solipsism’, which in turn helps us to understand the notion of Cyrenaic privacy at a fuller extent.

In my paper I analyse the art of selected Polish conceptual artists, whose art and creative strategies clearly attempt to analyse the essence of time. I consider exceptional in this context the work of Roman Opalka (Opałka 1965 /1 - ∞), Natalia LL's recordings (Permanent recordings of time), Zdzislaw Jurkiewicz's Saturn and Jupiter Ways, and the projects by Stanisław Dróżdż (FROM TO) that touch upon various levels of time. Jezus Chrystus jest pełnią Objawienia (KO 2). Czym jest sam fakt Jego obecności na świecie? Jakie są konsekwencje inkarnacji Syna Bożego? Na te pytania odpowiedzi udziela już w III wieku Orygenes, stwierdzając, że „doskonalsi przychodzą do mniej doskonałych, aby im przynieść jakąś korzyść”. Jezus Chrystus dzięki misterium Wcielenia przychodzi, aby tylko poprzez swoją obecność, nie wspominając słów i czynów, zbawczo uświęcić ten świat i każdego człowieka. Orygenes wśród owych zbawczych korzyści wymienia uzdrowienie, wyzwolenie oraz uświęcenie. Na podstawie swoich interpretacji buduje teologię bliskości Boga w Jezusie Chrystusie oraz tworzy kategorie zbawienia, wyrażone językiem biblijnym, zrozumiałym dla wszystkich wierzących.
Jesus Christ is fullness of all Revelation (KO 2). What is the pure fact of His presence in the world? What are consequences of God’s Son incarnation? Answers for these questions are already given by Origen in the third century who states that „the more faultless come to the less faultless to give them some kindness”. Through mystery of Incarnation Jesus Christ comes, only by His presence, not to mention His words and deeds, to redeem and sacrifice the world and every man. Among these salutary advantages Origen mentions healing, extrication and sanctification. On the base of his interpretations he builds a theology of God’s closeness in Jesus Christ and creates redemption categories expressed in scriptural language understandable for all believers.

Wstęp: istnieje pięć podstawowych rodzajów czucia: wibracji, ułożenia, delikatnego dotyku, bólu oraz temperatury. literatura podaje, że do badania delikatnego czucia można wykorzystać wacik lub palec. ważne, aby dawkowany przez terapeutę bodziec był powtarzalny. Cel pracy: celem pracy był pomiar czucia delikatnego dotyku u osób zdrowych na 21 autorsko wybranych punktach. Materiał i metody: zbadano 28 studentów śUm w Katowicach 21 kobiet i 7 mężczyzn. wiek badanych x=21,2±1,8. na obu rękach i przedramionach badanych zaznaczono 21 punktów według autorskiego algorytmu. Badacz wskazywał losowy wybrany punkt. celem badanego było wskazanie miejsca, w którym poczuł dotyk. jeśli badany błędnie określił lokalizacje punktu, taśmą centymetrową odmierzano odległość. wyniki umieszczono w bazie danych i poddano analizie statystycznej w programie Statistica 8. Wyniki: Różnice na poziomie istotności statystycznej zaobserwowano porównując średnie wyniki odchyleń punktu 13 znajdującego się w środkowej części przedramienia po stronie bocznej w obu przedramionach. Wnioski: zaobserwowane zmiany mogą świadczyć o bardziej precyzyjnym czuciu delikatnego dotyku w środkowej części strony bocznej przedramienia.
Introduction: there are fve basic types of sensation: vibration, poses, gentle touch, pain and temperature. the literature says that to study gentle sensation can be used cotton ball or fnger. it is important that the therapist dosed stimulus was reproducible. Aim of sthe study: Aim of this study was to measure the gentle touch sensation in healthy subjects for 21 points developed by researchers. Material and methods: examined 28 students Silesian medical University in Katowice 21 women and 7 men. the age of respondents x = 21,1±1,8. On both hands and forearms of respondents indicated 21 points developed by the researchers. the researcher pointed randomly selected point. the purpose of the respondents was to identify the place where they felt the touch. if examined incorrectly described the location of the point, researcher measured a diference with centimeter tape. the results were put in database and statistically analyzed in Statistica 8. Results: Diferences in the level of statistical signifcance was observed when comparing the mean scores of variations point 13 is located in the middle of the forearm to the side of both forearms. Conclusions: Observed changes may indicate a more precise feeling the gentle touch in the middle of the lateral side of the forearm.

Opis:
Spatial characteristic of triggering radius of the damaged probe for the CNC machine tools has been presented. In such case a clear distortion of the probe performance characteristic and a significant increase in probe errors have been observed. Then, to such a damaged probe, a variable speed correction method of systematic errors was used. By setting proper measurement speeds, varying for different measurement directions, errors of the probe can be significantly reduced.

Along with the development of a knowledge society it’s crucial to create, for all individuals regardless of their origin, age, sex, (dis)ability, conditions for acquiring competence perceived as the key one in their development and taking roles in society. The article presents examples of international cooperation within the frames of building communicative competence of special school students. The attempt to describe and analyze the competence will enable to present inspiring value of the undertaking activities. It may also constitute an incentive to further exchange of experience in this area.
Wraz z rozwojem społeczeństwa wiedzy konieczne staje się stworzenie wszystkim jednostkom, niezależnie od pochodzenia, wieku, płci, (nie-)pełnosprawności, warunków do nabywania kompetencji uznawanych za kluczowe w ich rozwoju oraz pełnieniu ról społecznych. W niniejszym artykule przedstawione zostaną przykłady międzynarodowej współpracy w zakresie budowania kompetencji komunikacyjnych uczniów szkół specjalnych. Próba ich opisu i analizy umożliwi ukazanie inspirujących walorów podejmowanych przedsięwzięć. Może stanowić również zachętę do dalszej wymiany doświadczeń w tym zakresie.

Not blindness itself, but blindness as a symptom for an inner seeing and as a counterforce against a one-sided fixation on beauty and taste were the reasons why Marcel Duchamp from 1916 onwards was occupied with the theme of blindness. Two volumes of The Blind Man were displayed in 1917 on the exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists in New York. The second volume contained comments about the fact that Duchamp’s contribution of a Fountain, his now so famous ready-made Urinoir, signed “R. Mutt”, was rejected by the apparently jury-less committee. This means that the theme of blindness was expressed twice: no one could see the work and so his theoretical opposition against beauty and taste could not be illustrated by the Urinoir either. How Duchamp from then on also challenged the other senses, so as to avoid focusing only on the eyes, will be dealt with in this article as well. Arguments from the biography, philosophy, mythology, and iconography will be used to underpin the article’s main thesis. In this sense the question may be asked whether Duchamp was inspired in this group of his works by humorous etymological and literary references. In the end it will become clear that the theme of blindness in his work and artistic theory is highly paradoxical.

The main subject of this work was to find a new way of user identification based on his interactions with a touch screen of a detecting device such as smartphone, tablet or operating panel. The entire identification process was performed in implemented mobile software and the identification was based on certain mathematical criteria. No additional external device was connected to the portable device for user recognition process.

Opis:
Aim. This paper aims to learn about the opinions of university students of education on selected aspects of attachment parenting as well as to present those opinions. The problem is not only important from the point of view of the individual histories but it also has a wider, societal dimension. The more rational and healthy parental decisions there are, the better off society gets. The detailed research problems posed in this paper include the opinions of attachment by the respondents regarding the preparation for parenthood; what importance they attribute to hugging the child by the parent; what the opinions of the respondents on positive discipline are, and what their knowledge of the perils related to physical contact is. Materials and methods. The study was conducted using a diagnostic interview with a group of 124 education students at the University of Zielona Gora. Results. The results show that respondents lack knowledge of the importance of physical contact in child development. The reluctance expressed by male respondents to educate themselves as well as prepare for fatherhood may be considered a serious social issue. The fact that, at the same time, they don’t accept positive discipline and approve of corporal punishment, which is expressed by over half of the male respondents, seems especially worrying.
Cel. Celem artykułu jest poznanie i zaprezentowanie opinii studentów na temat wybranych aspektów rodzicielstwa bliskości. Zagadnienie to jest istotne nie tylko z perspektywy indywidualnych losów, lecz ma także wymiar ogólnospołeczny. Im więcej świadomych, zdrowych zachowań rodzicielskich, tym zdrowsze społeczeństwo. Szczegółowe problemy badawcze postawione w pracy dotyczyły tego, jakie są opinie badanych osób na temat przygotowania do rodzicielstwa, jak respondenci oceniają przytulanie dziecka w relacji rodzic-dziecko, jakie są opinie badanych studentów dotyczące pozytywnej dyscypliny oraz jaka jest wiedza respondentów dotycząca zagrożeń związanych z dotykiem. Materiał i metody. Badania przeprowadzono metodą sondażu diagnostycznego w grupie 124 studentów Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego. Wyniki. Uzyskane wyniki badań wskazują na niski poziom wiedzy respondentów dotyczący znaczenia stymulacji dotykowej dla rozwoju dziecka. Brak potrzeby edukacji w obszarze rodzicielstwa oraz brak chęci i gotowości do przygotowania się do roli ojca wyrażone w opiniach badanych mężczyzn można spostrzegać jako duży problem społeczny. Niepokojący jest także brak akceptacji dla pozytywnej dyscypliny przy jednoczesnej aprobacie kar fizycznych wyrażony przez ponad połowę respondentów płci męskiej.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie zmysłu dotyku w świecie przedstawionym wybranych tekstów prozatorskich rosyjskiego pisarza doby realizmu – Mikołaja Leskowa, jak również określenie reprezentatywnej dla ich haptyczności poetyki. W artykule zostały opisane wrażenia dotykowe, zarówno aktywne – gdy to Leskowowscy bohaterowie stają inicjatorami zwrotu haptycznego, jak i bierne – gdy to postaci są dotykane. Analiza wybranych tekstów pozwala na sformułowanie wniosku, iż poznanie haptyczne w przypadku analizowanych tekstów Leskowa jest głęboko osadzone w poetyce realizmu. Uwzględnienie jednak kontekstów kulturowych, zarówno ludowo-mitologicznych, jak i religijnych ujawnia ich ścisłe powiązanie z poetyką romantyczną. Pisarz w opisie sfery tykalnej swych bohaterów w sposób płynny przechodzi od materii do duchowości, magii, mistyki, łączy elementy gatunków ludowych z literaturą hagiograficzną. Leskowowska prezentacja zmysłu dotyku pokazuje potrzebę współistnienia i równowagi w człowieku zarówno poznania haptycznego materialnego, jak i poznania haptycznego „duchowego”.  Nie bez znaczenia pozostaje także interpretacja haptyczności głównych bohaterów przez otoczenie, która ujawnia różnorodną optykę rosyjskiego społeczeństwa i staje się dodatkowym elementem jego charakterystyki.
The aim of this article is to present the sense of touch in the world depicted in selected prose texts of the Russian realist writer Nikolai Leskov, as well as to determine the poetics representative of their hapticism. The author concludes that the tactile sensations described, both active – when Leskov’s characters become the initiators of the haptic – and passive – when the characters are themselves touched – allow the conclusion to be drawn that haptic cognition in each of Leskov’s analysed texts is deeply embedded in the poetics of realism, but that the inclusion of cultural contexts, both folk-mythological and religious, reveals their close association with romantic poetics. In the realm of the description of the tactile sphere of his characters, the writer makes a smooth transition to spirituality, magic and mysticism, combining elements of folk genres with hagiographic literature. Leskov’s presentation of the sense of touch shows the need for the coexistence and balance (in man) of both material haptic cognition and haptic “spiritual” cognition. Also of significance is the interpretation of the hapticism of the main characters by the environment, which reveals the diverse optics of Russian society and becomes an additional element of its characteristics.

The article deals with the implementation of one of the most promising technologies of the 21st century – the permeable sensor networks of the USN. The features, architecture, organization and routing algorithms of sensory networks are described. It is determined that further improvement of the work of such networks requires standardization of the development process and implementation process. USN's Vertical Sensor Networks is one of the most promising technologies of the 21st century. Cheap and "smart" sensors, in large quantities combined into a wireless network connected to the public communications network, today provide an unprecedentedly wide range of control and management services for buildings, businesses, cars, and so forth. USN networks, depending on the type of sensors, can be deployed on the ground, in the air, under and over water, in buildings and, finally, on the skin and inside living organisms, including humans. They are also widely used in such important areas as military affairs, crisis and emergency management, and the fight against terrorism.
Artykuł dotyczy implementacji jednej z najbardziej obiecujących technologii XXI wieku – wszechobecnej sieci sensorowej USN. Opisano funkcje, architekturę, organizację i algorytmy routingu sieci sensorowych. Ustalono, że dalsza poprawa takich sieci wymaga standaryzacji procesu rozwoju i procesu wdrażania. Pionowe sieci sensorowe USN to jedna z najbardziej obiecujących technologii XXI wieku. Tanie i "inteligentne" czujniki w dużych ilościach w połączeniu z siecią bezprzewodową podłączoną do publicznej sieci komunikacyjnej zapewniają obecnie niespotykany dotąd szeroki zakres usług zarządzania budynkami, przedsiębiorstwami, samochodami i tak dalej. Sieci USN, w zależności od rodzaju czujników, mogą być rozmieszczone na ziemi, w powietrzu, pod wodą i nad wodą, w budynkach, a wreszcie na skórze i wewnątrz organizmów żywych, w tym ludzi. Są również szeroko stosowane w tak ważnych obszarach, jak sprawy wojskowe, w sytuacjach kryzysowych i zarządzania kryzysowego oraz w walce z terroryzmem.

Opis:
The experiment is aimed at investigating the factors that may modulate the costs of cross-modal visuo-haptic recognition of scenes. Participants learned a scene either visually or by touch (in the latter case they were blindfolded); then, following a delay, they identified the scene using the same or changed modality. The level of difficulty was adjusted by introducing two or three changes in the placement of scene elements at the recognition stage. It has been demonstrated that the costs of modality change, related to both decreased accuracy of recognition and extended time for making decision, occur only in a situation when a significant burden is imposed on working memory, i.e., with tactile learning of a scene and a high level of difficulty of the recognition task.

A dark room is a “research field” where an art historian moves with uncertainty. The strongest sensual experience that an art historian develops when his/her competence grows is seeing. The most valued trait of an art expert - a collector, museum specialist or an exhibition manager - is his/her “sharp eye”. The methodological paradigm that has dominated in art. history since the 1970s established the accepted “ways of seeing” art. The choice of touch for the subject matter of this paper is not meant as a challenge to the established hierarchy of senses underlying the above-mentioned research paradigm. The eye will stay in the centre of our research, even though not all art is created to be experienced through this sense only. This paper ventures an interpretative analysis of a selection of works which are not to be experienced solely through sight, but mostly by touch. Mirosław Bałka's installation entitled How It Is (2009-2010), exhibited in the London Tate Modern, Anthony McCalls works in his exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery (2007-2008), or Filippo Tommaso Marinetti's project called “the art of tactilism”, reaching back to the 1920s – these are examples of creations which make art. history grope around in the dark. The author does not aim to juxtapose sight and touch in art. interpretation, or to seek some "new empiricist" methodology. The paper is more of an attempt to criticise research tradition that favours sight over touch. Immediacy and elimination of distance are features that distinguish tactile experience from the visual one. In view of the fact that contemporary artistic practices strive to integrate and consolidate all sensual experiences in a holistic fashion, one can pose a crucial question of how to grasp and record the immediate tactile experience in the process of art-historical interpretation.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest interpretacja postaci starszej kobiety ukazanej na japońskich przedstawieniach parinirwany przy stopach Buddy (ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wersji z Myōhō-ji oraz jej kontynuacji). Jak wykazał przegląd chińskich przekładów sutr, za potencjalne źródło inspiracji posłużyło tu piśmiennictwo hinajany, z którego japońska tradycja buddyjska przejęła przekonanie o kalających właściwościach kobiecego dotyku. Następnie, w poszukiwaniu odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie treści wnosi obecność staruszki na graficznych przedstawieniach parinirwany, posłużono się wybraną literaturą buddyjską podejmującą ten motyw. W toku analizy wykazano, że jej rola polegała na sprowokowaniu dyskusji pomiędzy Mahākāśyapą a Ānandą o miejscu kobiet w gronie uczniów Buddy – świeckich, na przykładzie jej samej, oraz duchownych, na przykładzie pierwszej mniszki Gautami.
This study delves into the portrayal of the female figure depicted at the feet of the Buddha in Japanese parinirvana images, with a specific focus on the Myōhō-ji rendition and its subsequent resumptions. Through an examination of Chinese translations of pertinent sutras, the research explores the potential influence of hinayana texts as a source for this motif, which conveys the notion that impurity can be transmitted through a woman’s touch. To elucidate a more profound comprehension of the significance attributed to the presence of an elderly woman in visual depictions of parinirvana, an array of literary sources were scrutinized. The findings indicate that her inclusion likely served as a catalyst for a discourse between Mahākāśyapa and Ānanda concerning the position of women within the Buddha’s assembly of disciples, encompassing their roles as lay devotees, epitomized by the elderly woman, and as ordained nuns, symbolized by Gautami.
