    Opis:
    W artykule omówiono strukturę czasoprzestrzeni w powieści „Ptaki i gniazda” wybitnego białoruskiego pisarza Janki Bryla. Zwrócono uwagę na wpływ kategorii czasu i przestrzeni na oś konstrukcyjną i fabularną utworu. Współistnienie dwóch płaszczyzn czasu i przestrzeni (życie i wspomnienia Alesia Runiewicza) było uwarunkowane fabularno-kompozycyjną strukturą powieści i pozwoliło wielopłaszczyznowo odsłonić świat wewnętrznych przeżyć głównego bohatera.
    The author of the article analyzes time-spacial structure of the novel “Birds and Nests” written by an eminent Belarusian writer Yanka Bryl. It is emphasized that time and space influence structural and storyline axes of the book. Coexistence of these two layers (life and memories of Ales Runevich) was conditioned by the structure and storyline, and enabled to show the main heroe’s mental experiences.

    Opis:
    The paper is a critical analysis of time in learning, functioning in the objectivist approach to education. Referring to results of anthropological research and literary studies in this field, I justify in it the thesis that in transmissive teaching becomes an instrument for subjugating children. It is supported by the following realities of schooling: imposed time of children’s stay at school, an obligation to do homework and timeframe of “covering” textbooks, which leads to pupils being overloaded with school learning, wasting time at lessons, repeating years, or even being halted in time. The effect of the time of learning being seized by the time of teaching is petrification of the bureaucratic management of time, pretended learning and tabooism of the disturbing phenomenon of the temporary regime of learning.

    On Semantic Annotation in Clarin-PL Parallel CorporaIn the article, the authors present a proposal for semantic annotation in Clarin-PL parallel corpora: Polish-Bulgarian-Russian and Polish-Lithuanian ones. Semantic annotation of quantification is a novum in developing sentence level semantics in multilingual parallel corpora. This is why our semantic annotation is manual. The authors hope it will be interesting to IT specialists working on automatic processing of the given natural languages. Semantic annotation defined the way it is defined here will make contrastive studies of natural languages more efficient, which in turn will help verify the results of those studies, and will certainly improve human and machine translations.

    The author considers the issue of time in Jan Szczepański’s works in comparison to the issue in contemporary sociology. She analyses the role of personal experiences as an important inspiration in research into the time issue. She presents the ‘fantasies’ that are typical of Jan Szczepański’s approach to the subject, and the idea of varieties of time, with the associated interdisciplinary view. She writes that Jan Szczepański understands time as a devastating force and ‘dealing with time’ in connection with transience as one of the essential human tasks.

    Artykuł przedstawia historię kształtowania się kategorii czasu w języku polskim i ukraińskim, to jest form czasu teraźniejszego, przyszłego i przeszłego na podstawie rekonstrukcji odpowiednich, analogicznych form języka prasłowiańskiego. Autor szczegółowo analizuje proces kształtowania się form czasowych w obu językach, ujawniając ich cechy wspólne i specyficzne. Materiał oparty jest na pracach wybitnych językoznawców europejskich (A. Meillet, N. van Wijk, Z. Klemensiewicz, T. Lehr-Spławiński, S. Urbańczyk, S. Dubisz, P. Żytec’kyj, W. Rusaniws’kyj, P. Kuzniecow i in.). Autor podaje pełny obraz systemu form czasowych i gramatycznej kategorii czasu w sposób komplementarny w dwóch pokrewnych językach.
    The paper presents the history of shaping the category of time in Polish and Ukrainian, that is forms of the present, future and past tenses, based on a reconstruction of appropriate, analogous forms of the Proto-Slavic language. The author analyses the process of shaping tense forms in both languages in detail, revealing their common and specific features. The material is based on works by renowned European linguists (A. Meillet, N. van Wijk, Z. Klemensiewicz, T. Lehr-Spławiński, S. Urbańczyk, S. Dubisz, P. Zhyteckyi, W. Rusanivskyi, P. Kuzniecow, and others), a complete picture of the system of tense forms and the grammatical category of time in a complementary manner in two related languages.

    Esej stara się stworzyć filozofię poznania opartą na kategorii zdziwienia. Było owo dziwienie się siłą napędową poszerzania zasobów wiedzy i zarzewiem rodzenia się intelektu. Było i jest „przymusem” odkrywania świata, powodem rozglądania się, iskrą wywołującą pragnienie posiadania światła. Wywołane zostaje zawsze wtedy, gdy doświadczamy innego, nieznanego, obcego. Autorka twierdzi, że zdziwienie wynikające z podróży opiera się na doświadczaniu transformacji trzech podstawowych kategorii: czasu, przestrzeni i hierarchii. Każda z nich może potęgować i intensyfikować odbiór zewnętrznych bodźców doprowadzając jednak bardzo często do deformacji i zniekształceń w jego zakresie. Każda kultura i każdy kraj mają swój własny język przestrzeni i czasu, który jest tak samo niepowtarzalny, jak język mówiony, czasami nawet bardziej.
    The essay attempts to create a philosophy of cognition based on a category of surprise. This surprise was the driving force of expanding the knowledge and a trigger for intellect. It was and still is a ”compulsion” for exploring the world, the reason for scouting, a spark causing a desire to possess light. It is triggered whenever we experience the other, unknown and strange. The author claims that this surprise coming from the travel is based on experiencing the transformation of the three basic categories: time, space and hierarchy. Each of them can intensify the perception of outer stimuli , however, very often leading to deformations in their scope. Each country and each culture have their own language of space and time which is as unique as a spoken language, sometimes even more.
