    Over the past decades, detailed surveys of the Pacific Ocean atoll islands show no sign of drowning because of accelerated sea-level rise. Data reveal that no atoll lost land area, 88.6% of islands were either stable or increased in area, and only 11.4% of islands contracted. The Pacific Atolls are not being inundated because the sea level is rising much less than was thought. The average relative rate of rise and acceleration of the 29 long-term-trend (LTT) tide gauges of Japan, Oceania and West Coast of North America, are both negative, −0.02139 mm yr−1 and −0.00007 mm yr−2 respectively. Since the start of the 1900s, the sea levels of the Pacific Ocean have been remarkably stable.

    Opis:
    The Venezia Islands are a very special area from the hydrological point of view due to its water mass changes. Regular floods results in the need for the regular monitoring of water mass changes. For this purpose, a Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment mission (GRACE) can be used as a source of data. The aim of the paper is to compare the latest results of the new GRACE FO observations. The comparisons were carried out all over Venezia Island using the L3 level, RL06 release data obtained with spherical harmonics degree and order extension of up to 120, by the three most important computational centres: JPL, GFZ, CSR. Results are compared to an average month values of precipitation and evapotranspiration and tide gauge data in the nearby area. Based on the research, no dependence between TWS and evapotranspiration and evapotranspiration change were found.

    We show here the presence of significant “coldspot” of sea level rise along the West Coast of the United States and Canada (including Alaska). The 30-years sea level for the area are mostly falling also at subsiding locations as San Francisco and Seattle where subsidence is responsible for a long term positive rate of rise. The 20 long term tide gauges of the area of length exceeding the 60-years length have a naïve average rate of rise –0.729 mm/year in the update 30-Apr-2015, down from –0.624 mm/year in the update 14-Feb-2014. Therefore, along the West Coast of the United Statesand Canada the sea levels are on average falling, and becoming more and more negative.

    Obecnie trwają prace nad realizacją drugiego etapu unifikacji sieci niwelacyjnych w Europie, tj. kinematycznym wyrównaniem sieci UELN-95 (rezolucja nr 5 sympozjum EUREF, Praga 1999 r.). Aby wykonać takie wyrównanie, konieczny jest model ruchów pionowych skorupy ziemskiej dla obszaru Europy. Dla obszaru Polski takie ruchy wyznaczał dwukrotnie Tadeusz Wyrzykowski z Instytutu Geodezji i Kartografii w Warszawie. Ostatnie takie wyznaczenie miało miejsce około 20 lat temu. Ukończenie kolejnej, czwartej kampanii niwelacji precyzyjnej oraz zgromadzenie pokaźnego zbioru danych mareograficznych umożliwiło podjęcie próby ponownego wyznaczenia ruchów pionowych skorupy ziemskiej na obszarze Polski i opracowania modelu tych ruchów. W artykule przedstawiono wyznaczenie modelu ruchów pionowych skorupy ziemskiej na obszarze Polski z wykorzystaniem danych z trzeciej i czwartej kampanii niwelacji precyzyjnej w Polsce oraz danych ze stacji mareograficznych we Władysławowie, Ustce, Kołobrzegu i Świnoujściu. Względne ruchy pionowe skorupy ziemskiej odniesiono do reperu węzłowego we Władysławowie. Następnie ruchy te odniesiono do mareografu we Władysławowie. Ruchy pionowe mareografu we Władysławowie wyznaczono względem średniego poziomu Morza Bałtyckiego. Do wyznaczenia ruchów mareografu wykorzystano elementy analizy statystycznej: średnią ruchomą oraz regresję liniową. Model ruchów pionowych skorupy ziemskiej na obszarze Polski opracowano stosując interpolację metodą kolokacji. Model sporządzono w postaci numerycznej oraz mapy ruchów pionowych. Opracowany model powinien dostarczyć, dla geodetów, geofizyków i geologów, cennych informacji o zachowywaniu się skorupy ziemskiej na terenie Polski. Model ten powinien także pomóc w stworzeniu kinematycznej sieci wysokościowej w Polsce.
    Work is in progress at present in Europe on the realization of the second stage of unifying the levelling networks in Europe, i.e. the kinematic adjustment of the UELN-95 network (resolution 5 of the EUREF symposium, Prague 1999). To perform such an adjustment, a model is necessary for vertical crustal movements for the area of Europe. For the area of Poland such movements calculated twice Tadeusz Wyrzykowski from the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography in Warsaw (1961, 1986). Ending the fourth levelling campaign and recording databases tide gauge, undertake repeated the test of calculation the vertical movements earth crust an area of Poland and made a model of these movements. The paper uses the data of the third and fourth precision levelling campaigns in Poland and the data from tide gaude stations in Władysławowo, Ustka, Kołobrzeg and Świnoujście. On the basis of those data a model of vertical movements in the area of Poland was developed. During the first stage of the study, the relative vertical crustal movements referenced to the tide gauge in Władysławowo were computed. Next the vertical movements of tide gauge in Władysławowo in respect to the mean sea level of the Baltic Sea were determined. Elements of statistical analysis: moving average and linear regression methods were used for identification of tide gauge motions. Finally, the vertical movements of network bench marks relative to the mean sea level were determined. The model of vertical crustal movements in the area of Poland was developed by applying interpolation method. The model developed in that way should provide surveyors, geophysicists and geologists with precious information on the behavior of earth crust in the area of Poland. The model should also allow development of a kinematical levelling network in Poland.
