    This article offers a proposal for using film as supplements for future therapists’ education in respect of the social construction of their relations with patients. A film pedagogy proves indispensable in a pandemic situation, when empirical therapeutic practice becomes impossible. The analysis refers to the concepts of pedagogy of cinema and mediated experience and points to a proposal of an exemplification of their functioning in the form of a selected cinematic picture (“Three Christs”, 2017), based on an actual psychotherapeutical experiment undertaken by Milton Rokeach at the Ypsilanti clinic.

    Opis:
    The article tackles the question of the emergence, as well as the characteristics, of the psychological mechanisms of addiction in individuals with prolonged and intensive alcohol intake, and indications for therapeutic work with such individuals in the course of a basic programme of therapy for alcohol addicts. Excessive, prolonged and intensive drinking leads to the emergence of addiction- specific psychological mechanisms which encompass the emotional sphere of the individual concerned, the cognitive sphere and the centre of personality i.e. the structure of Self. The emotional sphere witnesses the emergence of the addictive mechanism of regulating one’s emotions, the mind of an addict sees the creation of an illusion and denial mechanism, while the Self structure experiences the mechanism of diffusion and splitting. The combined effect of these mechanisms destroys an individual’s life and centres it around drinking. The author stresses the significance of therapeutic work on the ‘breaking down’ of these mechanisms and on solving those personal problems which constitute a constant source in activating the mechanisms. Therapeutic work in the basic therapy programme concentrates mainly on the understanding and acceptance of one’s addiction, coping with alcohol craving, recognising the destruction alcohol brings and admitting helplessness in relation to alcohol. Work on the mechanisms should commence in the first meeting with the patient, in order to prevent drink relapse.

W tekście zastosowano analizę hermeneutyczną narracji filmowej. Wyniki. Artykuł ukazuje potencjalną strategię wykorzystania dzieł kinowych w kształceniu terapeutów.
    Introduction. The article presents a proposal for introducing fi ction fi lms as complementary to future therapists’ tertiary education with respect to building a relationship with their patients. The analysis references the idea of cinema pedagogy and features exemplifi cation of its application based on two films: My Left Foot and Three Christs. Aim. The purpose of the article is to indicate the possibility of types of therapeutic relationships being discussed with art therapy students based on specially selected cinematic material. Materials and methods. The text applies hermeneutical analysis to a film narrative. Results. The article shows a potential strategy of using cinematic works in therapists’ education.

    The article presents and emphasises any early actions and planned activities taken to support the development of children who are in the early stages of development visible symptoms of atypical brain development (ABD). The methods and forms of early therapeutic intervention and its impact on children’s development are discussed on the selected case studies. It should be pointed out that the need for multidisciplinary diagnosis of children and then the consequences of the lack of specialised holistic therapy, which should be implemented are also indicated in the article. What is more, the article presents a proposal for “Therapeutic work program for children with ABD”, containing physical development, visual perception and spatial orientation, speech and thinking development and improvement of reading skills. The above-mentioned program is a good example of supporting the early development of children from infancy period till a primary school period.

    The authors explore the complexities of human dignity, analyze human dignity as a concept and its position within the framework of today’s social work practices. In this regard, the authors ponder upon diverse understanding of human dignity, including human dignity as a socio-legal value and its importance to social work in general and to other principal values relevant for social work. They examine the evolution of social work approaches towards human dignity while focusing on social work related international organizations and their national members’ and partners’ work to promote and uphold human dignity in delivery processes of social services.

    Celem głównym prezentowanych na potrzeby opracowania badań jest: określenie terapeutycznych aspektów twórczości literackiej dzieci w młodszym wieku szkolnym. W początkowej części artykułu przedstawiono wybrane rozważania teoretyczne skupiające się na zagadnieniu twórczości człowieka, jej roli w procesie autokreacji oraz jej wymiaru terapeutycznego. Stanowią one tło dla badań własnych, opisanych w dalszej części tekstu. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę indywidualnych przypadków, będącą odmianą metody biograficznej. Przeprowadzając badania z zastosowaniem metody indywidualnych przypadków, posłużono się technikami wywiadu oraz analizy wytworów. Narzędziem badawczym w technice wywiadu był kwestionariusz zawierający pytania otwarte skierowane do Anny – uczennicy kończącej trzecią klasę szkoły podstawowej. Przedmiotem analizy wytworów była natomiast jej twórczość literacka, która obejmowała zbiór wierszy tworzonych przez nią w okresie przypadającym na pierwszy etap edukacji szkolnej. Zebrany i przeanalizowany materiał badawczy pozwala stwierdzić, że twórczość literacka Anny ma wiele różnych walorów terapeutycznych i w doskonały sposób pomaga jej wzbogacić zasoby życiowe oraz wzmocnić tak potrzebne w życiu każdego dziecka poczucie wartości.
    The main objective of the presented research is to determine the therapeutic aspects of the literary work of children at early school age. In the initial part of the article we describe some selected theoretical considerations focused on the issue of human creativity, its role in the process of self-creation and its therapeutic dimension. The research was conducted using a method of individual cases, which is a variation of the biographical method. In the research, techniques of interview and the analysis of personal documents was used. The research tool in the interview technique was a questionnaire with open questions addressed to Anna – a student-ending third grade of primary school. The object of the analysis of documents was her literary work, which included a collection of poems created during the period of the first stage of school education. The collected and analyzed research material shows that Anna’s poetry has many different therapeutic values, it enriches her life and also strengthens her self-confidence.

    Artykuł poświęcono biblioterapii jako metodzie terapeutycznej promującej czytelnictwo. Tekst składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza z nich to wprowadzenie teoretyczne, w którym zdefiniowano podstawowe dla treści artykułu pojęcia, przedstawiono model postępowania biblioterapeutycznego oraz założenia zajęć czytelniczych z elementami biblioterapii. Druga część stanowi omówienie działalności biblioterapeutycznej w różnych obszarach w bibliotece pedagogicznej jako przykładów dobrej praktyki. Rozważania na temat zajęć biblioterapeutycznych pozwoliły na sformułowanie podstawowych wniosków badawczych.
    The article is devoted to bibliotherapy as a method of promoting reading and having therapeutic value. It consists of two parts. The first part is a theoretical introduction, which defines the basic concepts for the content of the article, presents a model of bibliotherapeutic procedure and the assumptions of reading classes bibliotherapy elements. The second part is an overview of bibliotherapeutic activities in various areas in the pedagogical library, it is a form of good practice examples. Considerations on the subject of bibliotherapy classes allowed for the formulation of basic research conclusions.

    Często twierdzi się, że terapeuci poznawczo-behawioralni nie przykładają dostatecznej wagi do kwestii relacji terapeutycznej i osoby terapeuty. W artykule badam wpływ relacji terapeutycznej na pomoc dzieciom krzywdzonym. W szczególności rozważam wpływ przekonań terapeutów na jakość ich pracy. Przedstawiam opis przypadku superwizji i na jego podstawie pokazuję wpływ przekonania terapeuty o własnej niekompetencji na proces diagnostyczny wykorzystania seksualnego dziecka. Przekonanie takie powoduje znaczny poziom lęku, który prowadzi do obniżenia empatii. Zachowania zabezpieczające (skupienie na celu lub narzędziach diagnostycznych) utrudniają nawiązanie poprawnej relacji. Na podstawie doświadczeń superwizyjnych i trenerskich prezentuję listę przekonań, które mogą utrudniać pomoc dzieciom krzywdzonym (dotyczą one przeważnie własnej kompetencji i szczególnej trudności pomocy dzieciom krzywdzonym). Jeżeli przekonania terapeutów mają wpływ na przebieg leczenia, to trzeba mocno się na nich skupić w trakcie superwizji i szkolenia terapeutycznego. Należy sprawdzać i korygować nieprawdziwe przekonania dotyczące krzywdzenia dzieci, ale również zwracać uwagę na przekonania dotyczące własnej niekompetencji i lęków terapeutów. Superwizja powinna dostarczać nie tylko wiedzy merytorycznej, ale również emocjonalnego wsparcia.
    It is said that cognitive-behavioral therapists do not pay sufficient attention to the issue of the therapeutic relationship and the person of therapist. The article examines the impact of a therapeutic relationship on helping abused children. In particular, I consider the influence of therapists’ beliefs on the quality of their work. I present the case of supervision and on its basis I show the influence of the belief about therapist’s incompetence on the diagnostic process of child sexual abuse. The conviction of their own incompetence results in a significant level of anxiety that leads to lowering empathy. Security behaviors (focus on purpose, using the diagnostic tools) make it difficult to establish a correct relationship. On the basis of supervisory and coaching experiences, I present a list of beliefs that may make it difficult to help abused children (they mostly concern one’s own competence and a particular difficulty of helping abused children). If the therapists’ beliefs have an impact on the course of treatment, then you need to focus strongly on them during supervision and therapeutic training. You should check and correct false beliefs about child abuse, but also pay attention to beliefs about your own incompetence and fears therapists. Supervision should provide not only substantive knowledge but also emotional support.
