    The developmental approach of art therapy is a humanistic approach which stems from the conviction that we keep growing and developing. Cathy Malchiodi, the author of major publications in the field of art therapy, claims that art often has the potential to transform our lives in an unusual way. This has been confirmed by studies showing that art not only improves the quality of our lives, but also it is effective in enhancing our competencies and mood. Therefore, as Malchiodi believes, art changes people’s lives every day. In this context, it is worth mentioning that theatre therapy, which constitutes a good opportunity for us to meet people during creative activities, helps us to notice spontaneity and facilitates the acquisition of theatrical competence and the competencies important in our everyday life.

    Niniejszy artykuł stanowi refleksję nad rolą teatru w pracy socjoterapeutycznej z młodzieżą zagrożoną niedostosowaniem społecznym. Ukazuje projekt teatroterapeutyczny „Młody Książę” realizowany w Krakowie w roku szkolnym 2016/2017. W artykule przedstawiono także rolę projektu w poszerzaniu autonomii i niwelowaniu nieśmiałości adolescentów zagrożonych niedostosowaniem społecznym oraz zaprezentowano wyniki badań prowadzonych w obszarze tychże czynników.
    This article is a reflection on the role of theater in sociotherapeutic work with young people at risk of social maladjustment. “The Young Prince” theater-therapy project is being implemented in Krakow from October 2016 to June 2017. The article also presents the role of the project in extending autonomy and eliminating the shyness of adolescents at risk of social maladjustment, as well as the results of research conducted in the area of these factors.

    The theatre is a therapeutic method used in the work with the disabled. The main purpose of therapeutic classes is to support the development of the disabled. Owing to a incomprehension of the term theatre therapy, Lech Śliwonik has introduced the term theatre for life. The latter term clearly defines that the theatre with the disabled „should be a way”, should create chances and give opportunities for further development. In order to answer the questions about the course of classes, what aim instructors and therapeutist have, the best way would be to give a good example. Such a theatre is the Theatrical Workshop at the Workshops of Occupational Therapy „Source” in Lublin. It is a theatre and one of the workshops of the same name. The theatre is conducted by Aneta Stodulska (the instructor and director of the group). The main purpose is to support the development of the disabled. The most important is the person and meeting half way his or her needs and potentialities. Aneta Stodulska has worked out her own method of work. The proper understanding of the term theatre therapy and appropriate aim and method bring about concrete results. The theatre Theatrical Workshop achieves good results both in the therapeutic and theatrical areas. The author quotes accurate results of her work in her master's thesis entitled „The Therapeutic Influence of the Theatre on the Disabled. The Activity of the Theatrical Workshop of the Workshop of Occupational Therapy ”Source„ in Lublin.” It was written under the supervision of Prof. Maria Barbara Styk and defended in June 2002.

W drugiej części opisuję praktykę terapeutyczno-teatralną „teatru obrzędowego”, stworzoną przez Dagnę Ślepowrońską oraz jej wpływ na proces uwalniania się z doświadczeń osamotnienia kobiet mających za sobą doświadczenia przemocy.
    The text presents the state of loneliness and isolation experienced in their theatrical work by the members of theatre laboratories (based on the case of the Odin Theatre) and socially excluded people (for example, those taking part in the activities of the theatre operating at the Women’s Rights Centre in Warsaw). In the first part it shows how loneliness can ally itself with the dramatic artist to become an important element of his or her work method and »life in art«. The second part of the paper deals with the original practice of the therapeutic and »ritual theatre« set up by Dagna Ślepowrońska and its influence on women who have been victims of violence in their liberation from the feeling of isolation.

    This article is to present the manner in which intellectually disabled people are implement into social area. Functioning of theatres have been covered herein. In this institutions effectuates integration of intelletually disabled people with abled ones. Theatre Therapy allows to build their dignity sense, worthiness and satisfaction from life. The aim is to show the effect media and film productions has on the implementation of disabled people into society.

    This article presents influencing with art1 and influencing through art2 aiming at the creation of situations which support the potential of individuals, especially in the case of children from backgrounds with ineffective parenting. Children from such backgrounds participated in an arts therapy project which aimed to facilitate creative activity through the preparation of a theatre show. Children’s cognitive, psychological and emotional needs are important, which is why the satisfaction of these needs was also an aim, as it was found that these needs were not being satisfied in the children’s culturally deprived environment. Influencing through art (in this case - a performing art) can very well serve the satisfaction of individual needs related to self-identification and self-definition (Bauman, 2010). From this point on, it is a straight road to influencing individuals’ self-esteem.

    Celem publikacji jest wykazanie zależności pomiędzy działaniami prowadzonymi przez teatroterapeutki i teatroterapeutów a zdrowiem psychicznym uczestników zajęć teatralnych, zwłaszcza w kontekście prewencji depresji. Tekst jest efektem wielu godzin rozmów i wywiadów przeprowadzonych ze specjalistami i uczestnikami zajęć teatralnych w różnym wieku. Ilustruje on pozytywny i rozwijający wpływ pracy scenicznej i warsztatowej na młodzież w wieku dorastania, a także przykładowe zagrożenia, które pojawiają się, gdy praktyka prowadzona jest w sposób nieodpowiedzialny i intuicyjny, a nie oparty na aktualnej wiedzy psychologicznej i pedagogicznej.
    The purpose of this article is to introduce the idea of theatre therapy as one of the forms of prophylaxis. The article is the result of interviews conducted with art therapy specialists and theatre artists. In addition, the text contains various points of view represented by the participants of the theatre classes. The last part of the article is devoted to threats that exist in theatre therapy.

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie procesu teatroterapeutycznego, jako oddziaływania, w którym istotną funkcję pełni dostrzeżenie i respektowanie pewnych aspektów dydaktycznych w nim występujących. Opracowanie zostało podzielone na cztery części. Pierwsza zawiera wyjaśnienie terminu „teatroterapia”, druga opisuje jej cele i funkcje, trzecia stanowi analizę zależności między zasadami dydaktycznymi a procesem teatroterapeutycznym, w czwartej odnaleźć można ćwiczenia praktyczne z zakresu działalności teatralnej. Dla wyjaśnienia pojęcia teatroterapii zastosowano definicję D. Krzywonia i M. Pietruszki-Budzyńskiej. Sformułowano następujące główne cele teatroterapii: umożliwienie jej uczestnikom wzrastania i dojrzewania; umożliwienie uczestnikom pogłębiania samowiedzy oraz dostarczanie im bodźców, które są niezbędne dla prawidłowego funkcjonowania w społeczeństwie, a których brakuje im w realnym życiu; kształtowanie osobowości oraz dostarczanie społecznościom kulturalnym dojrzałych członków − cel tożsamy z celem edukacji. Określono także funkcje teatroterapii: kompensującą, terapeutyczną i kształcąco-wychowawczą. Wykazano sposoby realizacji zasad: poglądowości; trwałości wiedzy; przystępności nauczania; systematyczności; świadomego i aktywnego uczestnictwa w procesie nauczania; indywidualizacji i zespołowości; łączenia teorii z praktyką w procesie teatroterapeutycznym. Przedstawiono propozycje ćwiczeń: podnoszące świadomość własnego ciała oraz rozwijające świadomość przestrzeni; umożliwiające nawiązanie relacji zaufania między uczestnikami oraz rozwijające umiejętność pracy w zespole; rozwijające: umiejętność interpretacji i prezentacji tekstu, budowania relacji i sytuacji scenicznej, kreowania roli.
    The aim of this article is to present a process of therapy through theater , as the impact in which seeing and respecting certain aspects of teaching plays a vital role. The study was divided into four parts. Part one provides an explanation of the term therapy through theatre, part two describes its objectives and functions, part three is an analysis of the relationship between the principles of teaching, and the therapy through theater, in the fourth part you can find practical exercises in the field of a drama activity. To clarify the definition of the concept of dramatherapy there was used a definition of D. Krzywoń and M. Pietruszka-Budzynski. There were formulated the following main objectives of therapy through theatre: Enabling the participants to grow and get maturation; Allowing the participants to deepen self-knowledge, and providing them with incentives that are necessary for the proper functioning in society, and which they lack in real life; Shaping the personality and providing mature members to cultural communities − the same as the goal of education. Functions of therapy through theatre have also been defined: compensating, therapeutic and educational. It has been shown how to implement rules: demonstrativeness; sustainability of knowledge; accessibility of teaching; regularity; conscious and active participation in the learning process; individualization and teamwork; combining theory with practice, in this process. Proposals of exercises: Raising awareness of your own body and developing spatial awareness; Allowing the establishment of trust between the participants and developing the ability to work in a team; Developing: the ability to interpret and present a text, building relationships and situations on stage, creating a role.

Autorka przedstawia twórczość teatralną realizowaną współcześnie w polskich więzieniach na tle historycznym (począwszy od walk gladiatorów, poprzez akty publicznych egzekucji i kar, aż po XX-wieczną reformę systemu penitencjarnego) oraz w szerokim kontekście geograficznym (Stany Zjednoczone, Wielka Brytania, Francja, Włochy). Wiele uwagi poświęca problemom i emocjom osadzonych. Szczególnie akcentuje rolę liderek teatru więziennego. Uważa, że dzięki ich obecności instytucje penitencjarne się zmieniają. Uznaje terapeutyczną rolę teatru więziennego za jego najistotniejszy aspekt, ale jej badania idą dalej. Odwołuje się nie tylko do teorii psychologicznych i socjologicznych, ale także do dorobku kulturoznawców, teoretyków teatru i artystów. Porównuje doświadczenie uwięzienia i późniejszego zwolnienia z więzienia do rytuału. Odnajduje ślady teorii i praktyki teatralnej Brooka i Grotowskiego. Pokazuje, w jaki sposób nowe media są wykorzystywane w przedstawieniach teatru więziennego. Opisuje zarówno scenę, jak i więzienie jako przestrzeń pełną ograniczeń, które trzeba pokonać. Motyw przekraczania granic przenika całą książkę. Więźniowie, przywódcy i widzowie są tymi, którzy przekraczają takie fizyczne i wewnętrzne granice.
    The book by Magdalena Hasiuk is the first monograph of Polish prison theatre. The author presents the theatrical work carried on in Polish prisons today against a broad historical background (starting with the gladiator fights, through acts of public executions and punishments, up to the 20th-century penitentiary system reform) and within a rich geographical context (the United States, Great Britain, France, and Italy). By describing and analysing the phenomenon, Hasiuk presents the world of isolation, the problems and emotions of inmates. She pays much attention to women leaders of prison theatre. She believes that the penal institutions have been changing thanks to their presence. The author deems the therapeutic role of prison theatre to be its most essential aspect, but her research goes further than that. She refers not only to psychological and sociological theories, but also to the work of cultural scholars, theatre theoreticians, and artists. She compares the experience of incarceration and later release from prison to a ritual. She finds traces of the theories and theatre practice of Brook and Grotowski. She shows how the new media are utilised in prison theatre performances. She finds common features of three different social institutions: the convent, the theatre, and the prison. She describes the stage and the prison alike as a space full of locked doors, restrictions that need to be overcome. The motif of crossing the boundaries permeates the whole book. The inmates, leaders, and viewers are all the ones crossing such physical and internal boundaries.

Dynamika zmian zachodzących w systemach oświaty oraz zróżnicowanie postulatów kierowanych pod adresem współczesnej edukacji sprawiają, iż przywołane w tytule zagadnienia podlegają często marginalizacji – zauważalnej zarówno w sferze planowania pracy dydaktyczno-wychowawczej nauczycieli, jak i w obszarze praktyki edukacyjnej, jaką realizuje szkoła. Niniejsze opracowanie, przywołując najważniejsze procesy zachodzące w życiu dziecka, służy zwróceniu uwagi na dydaktyczny, poznawczy i wychowawczy, ale także terapeutyczny i wspierający potencjał literatury i teatru oraz możliwości jego wykorzystania w edukacji elementarnej dziecka zdrowego i dotkniętego chorobą.
    This article is devoted to the role and the meaning of literature and theatre in elementary education. The dynamics of changes in education systems and demands directed at contemporary education make the issues referred to in the title marginalized, which is noticeable in the planning of the teachers’ methodology, as well as in the area of educational practice implemented at school. This study, citing the most important processes occurring in a child’s life, pays attention to the educational and cognitive, but also therapeutic and supportive, potential of the literature and theatre and the possibilities of their usage in elementary education of the healthy and illness-affected child.

    The article analyses the process of workshops and the staging of the performance Room of absentees (Pokój nieobecnych) directed by Joanna Pawlik within the framework of Cricoteka otwarta in collaboration with people (artists and non-artists) with and without disabilities. The article is based on the author’s participant observation. She analyses it in relation to many theories, such as participatory art, devised theatre, disability studies, art by artists with disabilities, art therapy, and crip time. The author shows how the same working conditions affect differently people with different bodies or senses, and how the rules have to be changed in the process to accommodate different needs. The relationship between the institutional framework and the status of the artist is also one of the topics. The article ends with a call for establishing an institution where Joanna Pawlik could work with her team on a regular basis rather than from project to project.

    The paper is devoted to the notion of public participation and an attempt to propose a slightly different understanding and approach to this than usual. The author acknowledges the potential of theatrical methods, especially the proposal of A. Boal, the Legislative Theatre, whereby the theatre is used to create proposals for legislation, bringing additional value to the participation process. The LT is a point of reference, but the following reflections refer to theatre and performance in a more general sense. The article focuses on the corelations between theatre and different relevant fields of social activity to determine and present potential benefits of using theatre in the process of participation. It is to present a preliminary review of relevant ideas that can stimulate future reflection about theatricalizing participation, rather than presenting a direct and comprehensive proposal.
    Poniższy artykuł poświęcony jest pojęciu partycypacji publicznej, analizowanemu z perspektywy teatralnej. Głównym punktem odniesienia dla rozważań jest koncepcja Teatru Legislacyjnego A. Boal’a, zgodnie z którą teatr może służyć do tworzenia propozycji ustaw, wnosząc dodatkową wartość do procesu partycypacji; artykuł ten ma jednak na celu skupienie się na teatrze w szerokim ujęciu. Artykuł skupia się na relacjach pomiędzy teatrem i różnymi istotnymi przejawami aktywności społecznej, aby określić i zaprezentować potencjalne korzyści z wykorzystania teatru w procesie partycypacji. Celem tekstu jest przedstawienie wstępnego przeglądu istotnych dla tematu koncepcji i analiz, które mogą pobudzić i wesprzeć przyszłą refleksję nad „teatralnością” partycypacji.

    The Theatre in Education programmes directly develop individual re-sources of young people by shaping, particularly, their ability to take responsible decisions, their belief in self-efficacy, their self-control mechanisms and their communication. These programmes make it possible to safely raise difficult sub-jects in a way that young people can find attractive. Using a show element, we can present a specific but also universal and credible story, embed the characters in the reality of life, show their problems, and then look for solutions along with the participants. This formula by handing the self-agency over to them, helps young people make decisions. Whereas, taking responsibility for their decisions, makes it possible for the participants to experience the programmes more deeply and consequently, to understand them better. The article describes the “Drama Therapy as a Method for a Safe Middle School Student” project which is co-financed by the Ministry of National Education, as well as the results of the survey carried out during the project.
    Programy teatru w edukacji bezpośrednio rozwijają zasoby indywi-dualne młodych ludzi, kształtując przede wszystkim ich umiejętność podejmo-wania odpowiedzialnych decyzji, poczucie własnej skuteczności i mechanizmy samokontroli oraz komunikację. Pozwalają na bezpieczne poruszanie trudnych tematów w sposób, który jest dla młodzieży atrakcyjny. Wykorzystując elementy przedstawienia, możemy zaprezentować konkretną, a jednocześnie uniwersal-ną i wiarygodną historię, osadzić bohaterów w realiach życiowych, pokazać ich problemy, a potem wspólnie z uczestnikami poszukiwać rozwiązań. Formuła ta, oddająca sprawczość w ręce młodych ludzi, umożliwia im podejmowanie de-cyzji i wzięcie za nie odpowiedzialności, powoduje, że programy te są głębiej przez uczestników przeżywane, a w konsekwencji – lepiej rozumiane. W arty-kule opisany został projekt „Drama – metodą na bezpiecznego gimnazjalistę” współfinansowany przez Ministerstwo Edukacji Narodowej oraz wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w trakcie jego trwania.

    W opracowaniu podjęłam próbę przedstawienia działalności artystycznej uczniów z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną i studentów w wymiarze swobodnej, nieprofesjonalnej twórczości plastycznej, muzycznej oraz teatralnej. Przybliżyłam możliwości wykorzystania potrzeby ekspresji, której swoistość przeciwstawia się charakterowi arteterapii. Treść prezentowanego tekstu uzupełniłam osobistymi spostrzeżeniami i przemyśleniami wynikającymi z pracy artystycznej z osobami z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną.
    The study aims to present artistic activities of schoolchildren with intellectual disabilities and students in the area of casual, amateur fine arts, music and theatre. It presents the possibility of using the need of expression, which is opposed to the nature of art therapy. The content of the text was enhanced by personal observations and thoughts arising from artistic work with people with intellectual disabilities.
