Opis:: Przedmiotem artykułu jest podjęcie naukowej refleksji nad specyfiką małżeństwa i rodziny jako systemu naturalnego na przełomie XX i XXI wieku. System rodzinny można rozpatrywać w różnych aspektach. Stąd też mówimy o ujęciu socjobiologicznym, psychodynamicznym, uczenia się, ujęcia kontekstualnego oraz o podejściu systemowym. Rodzina, jako naturalny system, posiada swoje właściwości, które jednocześnie stanowią fundamentalne kryteria do jego analizy i opisu. Wśród tych właściwości można wymienić, m.in. takie jak: zasada równowagi sił, tożsamość, zdolność do adaptacji, kształtowanie ról, hierarchiczna organizacja, własności sterownicze, właściwości sztywne, spoistość systemu, organizacja, mechanizacja, centralizacja, dominacja, ekwifinalność, dynamiczność, zmienność, ewoluowanie. Ostatnia część artykułu poświęcona jest istotnym elementom związanych z analizą przemian systemu rodzinnego na przełomie XX i XXI wieku.
The article is to take a scientific reflection on the specific nature of marriage and the family as a natural system at the turn of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The family can be seen in various aspects. Hence, we are talking about terms sociobiological naturalism, psychodynamic, learning, contextual approach and the approach system. The family as a natural system has its own characteristics, which together are the fundamental criteria for its analysis and description. These properties may include such as the principle of balance of power, identity, adaptability, shaping roles, hierarchical organization, ownership control, the properties of a rigid, cohesive system, organization, mechanization, centralization, domination, dynamism, variability, evolution. The last part of the article is devoted to the important elements related to the analysis of the transformation of the family system at the turn of the century.

The guilds of social distinction, economic the and cultural village the children are the essential determinants of conditions of education and the youth.

Today’s pluralism and a great deal of tolerance for different lifestyles cause confusion among those who are used to the old ways. What can be seen in modern family life is an increase in requirements related to its quality. Each family member has their own concept of family. Family world is becoming multiversion. Formally, marriage was above an individual. Today, marriage is an individual’s design and a dynamic project that can be carried out in a number of variants. In my thesis I am trying to present a family as seen by selected inhabitants of Wadowice district. It is true, there is no single recipe for a happy and attractive family. Everybody has their own vision of happiness and family attraction.

Opis:: Cel. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy danych obrazujących stosunek Polaków do dwóch kwestii: wymogu pełności rodziny jako warunku tworzenia najwłaściwszego środowiska wychowawczego dla dziecka oraz tradycyjnego układu ról w rodzinie, szczególnie ze względu na zadania przypisywane kobietom i mężczyznom. Uwzględniono tu najbardziej istotne zmienne socjodemograficzne: wiek, płeć, miejsce zamieszkania i poziom wykształcenia, które mają znaczenie w różnicowaniu opinii respondentów wobec powyższych kwestii. Metody. Badanie przeprowadzono w Polsce w 2019 roku na próbie 2210 respondentów. Wykorzystano autorski kwestionariusz ankiety. W badaniach zastosowano kwotowo-warstwowy dobór próby. Rezultaty. W artykule wskazano na związek pomiędzy wiekiem, płcią, miejscem zamieszkania oraz poziomem wykształcenia Polaków a ich ustosunkowaniem się do kwestii zakładania rodziny oraz układu ról w niej. Respondenci młodsi, lepiej wykształceni i mieszkający w miastach okazują się bardziej akceptujący wobec nietradycyjnych form życia rodzinnego. Kobiety częściej niż mężczyźni nie zgadzają się ze społeczno-kulturowymi oczekiwaniami zarówno w kwestii zawierania związku małżeńskiego, jak i utrzymywania tradycyjnego podziału zadań w rodzinie między nimi a mężczyznami.
Aim. The article presents the results of the analysis of the data illustrating the attitude of Poles towards two issues: the requirement of the completeness of the family as a condition for creating the most appropriate educational environment for a child, and traditional family roles, especially due to the tasks assigned to women and men. The most important socio-demographic variables were taken into account: age, sex, place of residence, level of education, which were important for differentiating the respondents’ opinions on the above-mentioned issues. Methods. The study was conducted in Poland in 2019 on a group of 2,119 participants, who responded to the proprietary questionnaire. Quota sampling has been used. Results. The article indicates the relationship between age, sex, place of residence, and the level of education of Poles, and their attitude to the issue of starting a family and the system of roles within the family. Younger respondents, higher educated, and urban-living, respondents turn out to be more accepting of non-traditional forms of family life. Women more often than men show disagreement with socio-cultural expectations both in terms of getting married and maintaining the traditional division of tasks in the family between them and men.

Opis:: The paper presents the view of Polish Catholics on Sacrament of Marriage by focusing mostly on its social and cultural rather than theological aspects. We discuss believers understanding of sacramental marriage at the background of changes that took place in Polish society at the beginning of the 21th century and affected marriage and family. Our discussion is developed in three stages: the value of church wedding, the sacramental nature of marriage and the family, and admitting too Holy Communion people living in non-sacramental union. As expected, the understanding of the sacramental character of marriage situates at a low level. Sociological studies on this subject are few, and they indicate that only minority of the young people give the correct answer to the question of sacramental character of Catholic marriage. Still, most respondents choose the answer that the sacrament of marriage is indissoluble. Others point to certain aspects of the sacramental marriage, which are like a side effect of the sacramental character of marriage. Finally, from 10% to 15% of respondents admit state that they do not know what the Sacrament of Marriage is. There is a significant gap between the moral and religious teaching of the Catholic Church regarding people living in non-sacramental union, and attitudes of Catholics to this issue. Sociological studies show quite divergent views regarding the question whether a person not living in a sacramental union should be admitted to Holy Communion, and ranged from 44.0% to 81.7%. According to Centre for Public Opinion Research (CBOS) survey this indicator covered nearly four fifths of adult Poles on a national scale. From a sociological point of view, there are three possible solutions to the existing conflicts and tensions: First, change of the moral teaching of the Church, second, reorientation of moral attitudes of believers, and third, drifting away from the Church, and acceleration of secularization of society.

Opis:: The author explores the phenomenon of voluntary childlessness in Poland. She presents the results of her own research as part of a broader analysis of the issue of intentional childlessness. The focus of the article is on the reasons why men do not take on a parental role. The first part of the article covers the socio-cultural context of the research into voluntary childlessness, while the second part discusses the results of qualitative research conducted using, among other things, focus group and in-depth interviews with voluntarily childless men. It shows the reasons why men do not assume a parental role and the types of male childlessness by choice.
Autorka podejmuje problematykę dotyczącą zjawiska dobrowolnej bezdzietności w Polsce. Przedstawia wyniki badań własnych stanowiących część szerszych analiz dotyczących zagadnienia intencjonalnej bezdzietności. Problematyka relacjonowana w niniejszym tekście koncentruje się na przyczynach niepodejmowania roli rodzicielskiej przez mężczyzn. Część pierwsza tekstu obejmuje społeczno-kulturowy kontekst w badaniach nad dobrowolną bezdzietnością, część druga zawiera prezentację wyników badań jakościowych, realizowanych m.in. techniką wywiadu grupowego i indywidualnego z dobrowolnie bezdzietnymi mężczyznami. Ukazuje przyczyny niepodejmowania roli rodzicielskiej przez mężczyzn oraz typy męskiej bezdzietności z wyboru.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiam jeden rodzaj przemocy – przemoc w rodzinie i jej konsekwencje. Proponuję spojrzenie na ten problem z dwóch różnych, wzajemnie uzupełniających się perspektyw. Z perspektywy teorii nauk społecznych, oraz z perspektywy towarzyszącego im dyskursu publicznego. Opisuję także doświadczenia ofiar przemocy. Zastosowane metody analizy to krytyczna analiza tekstów naukowych, krytyczna analiza publicystyki, wywiad skoncentrowany na problemie oraz krytyczna analiza wypowiedzi dorosłych, którzy na podstawie retrospekcji udostępnili swoje doświadczenia związane z przemocą w rodzinie. Kontekstem zaprezentowanych analiz jest krytycznie zrekonstruowany dyskurs dotyczący przeobrażeń współczesnej rodziny.
In this article I present one type of violence – domestic violence and its consequences. I offer to look at this problem from two different, complementary perspectives. From the perspective of social science theories, and from the perspective of the accompanying public discourse. I also describe the experiences of victims of violence. The methods of analysis adopted include critical analysis of scientific texts, critical analysis of journalism, problem-focused research, and critical analysis of the statements of adults who shared their experiences related to domestic violence based on retrospection. The context of the presented analyses is a critically reconstructed discourse on the transformation of the contemporary family.

Opis:: Artykuł prezentuje historyczno-antropologiczne spojrzenie na kobietę i jej seksualność. Obejmuje ponadto antyczne mity i kultury, średniowieczne wierzenia, aż do rewolucji seksualnej w XX w. oraz ruchów emancypacyjnych. Poruszono także wpływ transformacji ustrojowej na zmiany w sferze świadomości i zachowań ludzkich. Zmiany te dotyczą również współczesnej rodziny, jak i wypiętrzenia się zjawisk kwalifikowanych jako patologiczne i/lub dewiacyjne. Artykuł w szerszym kontekście porusza ponadto przemiany, które zaszły w dziedzinie obyczajów seksualnych pod wpływem procesów industrializacji, urbanizacji oraz przechodzenia od społeczeństwa tradycjonalnego do uprzemysłowionego. Ukazano ponadto formy uprawiania prostytucji w wymiarze socjohistorycznym.
The article contains a historical – anthropological view of the woman and her sexuality. It also includes ancient myths and cultures, medieval beliefs, until the sexual revolution of the 20th century and emancipation movements. The impact of systemic transformation on changes in hu-man consciousness and behaviour was also addressed. These changes also apply to the modern family as well as the occurrence of phenomena classified as pathological and/or deviant. The article, in its broader con-text, also touches on the changes that have taken place in the field of sexual mores under the influence of industrialization, urbanization and the transition from traditional to industrialized society. In addition, forms of socio-existorical prostitution have been shown.

Opis:: Transformacja polityczna 1989 roku znacząco wpłynęła także na życie rodzinne. Spowodowała w konsekwencji pogłębienie kryzysu małżeństwa i pojawienie się nowych problemów egzystencjalnych. Kryzysy doświadczane przez małżonków znajdują odzwierciedlenie w rosnącej liczbie rozwodów, w społecznej akceptacji tego zjawiska oraz w tymczasowych formach wspólnego życia, w tzw. małżeństwach na próbę. Polityczne przemiany doprowadziły do przekształceń w tradycyjnym rozumieniu życia rodzinnego opartym na: głębokiej więzi rodzinnej, na szacunku dla rodziców i dla osób starszych, na pamięci o przodkach i kulcie zmarłych. Artykuł stanowi próbę opisania zarówno kulturowo-społecznych i politycznych skutków transformacji ustrojowej 1989 roku, jak i ich wpływu na życia małżeńskie i rodzinne.
Political transformation has significantly influenced family and married life. It resulted in deepening of the crisis of marriage and in the appearance of new existential problems. The crisis experienced by married couples is reflected in the growing number of divorces, in the liberal social attitude towards divorce and in the practice of “trial marriages”. The political transformation in 1989 resulted in the change which consisted in the loss of the traditional nature of the family: based on a deep family bond, on respect for parents and for the elderly, on memory of the deceased, on keeping in memory genealogy and on the cult of the dead. Starting a family used to be the most appropriate way of regulating one’s life and of achieving life satisfaction. Social changes of the recent decades caused deepening of the crisis of the traditional marriage through: increasing expectations of the contemporary man towards life, moving from the country to the city, professional careers of women, growing sexual freedom, the hedonistic attitude in life, moral permissiveness, unemployment and emigration. Among other problems which are experienced by married couples and families there are: contracting marriage late in life, introducing the model of a family with only one child, contraception, divorces, unemployment, difficult material and living condition and emigration for money.

The author of this paper discusses causes of voluntary childlessness in Poland from a gender perspective. The author presents results of her own research carried out as a part of a wider study analysiss of intentional childlessness. The issue covered in this article focuses on the micro-social causes of childlessness, that is the determinants of childlessness in the context of contemporarily changing, both, patterns of femininity and masculinity and the relationships between women and men. The first part of the article includes an analysis of the socio-cultural context in studies on intentional childlessness. The latter part of the paper presents key findings from focus group interviews and in-depth interviews conducted with childless people (married men and women).
