    The present paper deals with eight charges that are frequently leveled against any research that focuses on the agrapha dogmata. The charges are demonstrated to be completely unfounded and, therefore, duly dismissed. In particular, it is argued here that the phrase ta legomena (so‑called) is by no means to be understood as ironic. Consequently, the article rejects the very common picture of Plato as some sort of dogmatist and author of a fixed philosophical system. However, Plato’s philosophy is presented as rather ‘overt’ and ‘straightforward’ in its nature. With the situation being as it is, thorough knowledge of the agrapha dogmata is shown to be an absolute prerequisite for understanding Plato’s dialogues. The paper concludes with an observation that while investigating the issue is completely warranted and does not in any way entail any devaluation of the dialogues, Aristotle’s testimony must also be taken into account.

    In 1984, Adam Kulawik, one of the most eminent researchers amongst the Polish theoreticians of versification, published a revolutionary article The principle of verse organization. He showed a completely new approach to the understanding of the versification system, metrics and so on. In fact, his article created a new paradigm of verse-thinking further elaborated in other books by Kulawik (e.g. Verse Theory 1995, Versification 1999). The goal of this article is to show the influence and after-effects of Kulawik’s works on the contemporary Polish verse theory.

    With the late Author’s (†24.04.2015) kind permission, the present text is published here in a somewhat abbreviated and modified translation that has been given appropriate subheadings and supplemented with an extensive bibliography. Its German original from 1996 has been translated into French (1998) and English (2012). The purpose of the present translation is to make the Polish reader acquainted with the important and innovative account of Plato’s philosophy that has been put forward by the Tübingen School whose one of the most prominent co-founders was Hans Joachim Krämer. While this text is devoted to Plato’s critique of writing, it also presents Plato’s agrapha dogmata as an important supplement to the written dialogues. A fuller overview of the major assumptions of this new interpretation is to be found in the recently published Gesammelte Ansätze zu Platon (2014).

    The article deals with an interesting debate following a project that started with the question raised by the press: “Why not overpaint or reconstruct the missing parts of a famous wall painting?” and concluded with a panel discussion that conveyed a better understanding of restoration theories on the part of both the press and the parish. Moreover, part of the project featured an exhibition to communicate the basis of our restoration theories and understanding, whilst requesting a dialogue with the priest and the parish; so, they might communicate their intentions and opportunely discuss theological interpretations with regard to the missing part in the wall-painting, which was important for us in reaching an understanding of the principles behind their ideas.

    The article presents theoretical issues related to the interposition to Polish criminal procedure rules known as „prohibition of eating the fruit of the poisonous tree”.     Artykuł stanowi rozszerzoną i uzupełnioną wersję wystąpienia przedstawionego w trakcie konferencji naukowej poświęconej Profesorowi Piotrowi Winczorkowi. Autorzy podjęli próbę rekonstrukcji teoretycznoprawnych poglądów autora w oparciu o jego wypowiedzi. W szczególności przedmiot prowadzonych badań stanowiły kwestie związane z aksjologią Konstytucji RP. W toku rozważań kolejno podjęto zagadnienia koncepcji porządku prawnego w świetle przepisów ustawy zasadniczej, wartości konstytucyjnych, zasad konstytucyjnych oraz źródeł prawa. Interesującym problemem akcentowanym przez P. Winczorka było to, czy ustawa zasadnicza powinna być oszczędna w kwestii manifestowania wartości. Uzupełnienie badań stanowiła analiza problematyki wykładni prawa w pracach P. Winczorka. Przeprowadzone analizy pozwoliły na sformułowanie wniosku ogólnego, że wiele problemów podjętych przez P. Winczorka znajduje odniesienie w aktualnych sporach konstytucyjnych. Dlatego warto sięgnąć do prac tego autora, którego wypowiedzi można traktować jako wykładnię autentyczną Konstytucji RP dokonywaną przez jednego z głównych jej twórców.
    This article is an extended and supplemented version of the address given during the scientific conference dedicated to Professor Piotr Winczorek. The authors made an attempt to reconstruct theory-of-law views based on the statements of Piotr Winczorek. The subject of the research was especially issues related to the axiology of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. In the course of research such issues as the concept of the legal order in the light of constitutional provisions, constitutional values, constitutional principles, and sources of law were taken up. One of the interesting problems emphasized by Piotr Winczorek was whether the basic law should be frugal in terms of manifesting values. The research is supplemented by an analysis of the problems of legal interpretation in the works of Piotr Winczorek. The conducted analyses enable formulating a general conclusion that many problems raised by Piotr Winczorek are referred to in the current constitutional disputes. Therefore, it is worthwhile to refer to the works of Professor Winczorek, whose statements can be treated as an authentic interpretation of the Polish Constitution of 1997.

    Historię nauki można postrzegać jako proces przemiany zjawisk niegdyś uważanych za przypadkowe w zjawiska pojmowalne w kategoriach fundamentalnych przyczyn i zasad. Ten długi i interesujący trend może dobiec końca. Spektakularny rozwój kosmologii sprawił, że niektórzy czołowi fizycy przyjęli pogląd, zgodnie z którym nasz Wszechświat jest tylko jednym z olbrzymiej liczby wszechświatów o bardzo różnych własnościach, a część najbardziej podstawowych cech naszego konkretnego Wszechświata jest zwyczajnie przypadkowa - jak losowy wynik rzutu kosmiczną kostką. W takim wypadku nie ma nadziei, że kiedykolwiek wyjaśnimy cechy naszego Wszechświata w kategoriach fundamentalnych przyczyn i zasad.
    The history of science can be viewed as the recasting of phenomena that were once thought to be accidents as phenomena that can be understood in terms of fundamental causes and principles.This long and appealing trend may be coming to an end. Dramatic developments in cosmological findings and thought have led some of the world’s premier physicists to propose that our universe is only one of an enormous number of universes with wildly varying properties, and that some of the most basic features of our particular universe are indeed mere accidents — a random throw of the cosmic dice. In which case, there is no hope of ever explaining our universe’s features in terms of fundamental causes and principles.

    Der Beitrag handelt von den Verbstellungsbesonderheiten im Jiddischen und ihren Auswirkungen auf die interne Struktur der INFL-Phrase. Man beobachtet Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede in der syntaktischen Positionierung des Verbkomplexes im jiddischen Satz im Vergleich zum Deutschen und zum Polnischen. Das Jiddische wird als eine V2-Sprache klassifiziert, aber die Grundwortstellung im Nebensatz weist eine SVO-Reihenfolge auf und die einzelnen Teile des Verbs können voneinander getrennt werden. Die widersprüchlichen Annahmen in der typologischen Einordnung des Jiddischen können zur unterschiedlichen Gliederung der internen IP-Struktur des Jiddischen führen. Diese wird im Beitrag einer gründlichen Analyse unterzogen. Die Untersuchung erfolgt im Rahmen der generativen Grammatik. Relevant sind hier die Regeln der Prinzipien- und Parameter-Theorie (Chomsky 1981) sowie des Minimalistischen Programms (Chomsky 1995). Es wird von der Annahme ausgegangen, dass die nachweisbaren systematischen Distributionsunterschiede der Verben auf die Existenz eines generellen Bewegungsprozesses zurückzuführen sind.
    The aim of the paper is to determine the structure of the INFL phrase in the Yiddish language sentence within the Principles and Parameters framework as well as the Minimalist Program, both formulated by Noam Chomsky. The article contains a syntactic analysis of the Yiddish language sentence in relation to the Polish and the German language with the focus on the verb and its position in the sentence. The aim of the analysis is to find features similar with these of the INFL phrase in the Polish and the German language, as well as parametrical features typical for the Yiddish language. In the syntax of Yiddish the verb in the main sentence has the V 2 feature. It can also take the sentence-initial position. In contrast to the German language the subordinate sentence in Yiddish is developed symmetrically with respect to the main sentence. On the basis of sentence examples taken from selected languages and their analysis conclusions are drawn as to the INFL phrase structure in the Yiddish language.
    Artykuł skupia uwagę na określeniu struktury frazy INFL w zdaniu języka jidysz w ujęciu Teorii Zasad i Parametrów oraz Programu Minimalistycznego Noama Chomsky’go. W artykule przeprowadzono analizę składniową zdań w języku jidysz w odniesieniu do języka polskiego i niemieckiego pod kątem czasownika i zajmowanej przez niego pozycji w zdaniu. Celem analizy jest znalezienie cech zbieżnych z frazą INFL dla języka polskiego i niemieckiego oraz cech parametrycznych, jakie wykazuje język jidysz. W składni jidysz czasownik w zdaniu głównym wykazuje cechę V 2. Może on również zajmować pozycję inicjalną. W odróżnieniu od języka niemieckiego w składni jidysz zdanie podrzędne rozwijane jest symetrycznie do zdania głównego. W oparciu o przykłady zdań zaczerpnięte z wybranych języków oraz ich analizy wysunięto wnioski odnośnie układu frazy INFL języka jidysz.
