Opis:
The teacher, especially at the stage of primary education, has a significant impact on the child’s development. The research intends to seek an answer to the main problem: How do early school teachers organize the education process for students due to key competences important for their functioning at subsequent stages of education? For that purpose, the experience of 387 children was examined in the following areas: possibilities of carrying out tasks in group work; the presence of outdoor education in school’s everyday life; the participation of experts from outside the school in the implementation of school tasks; using students’ various teaching resources, including multimedia, and undertaking research tasks. According to the following research results, teachers do not create conditions conducive to the acquisition of key competences by the students for their important function in the present and the future in school and beyond.

Podstawowymi obszarami funkcjonowania człowieka dorosłego jest praca zawodowa i rodzina, w której pełni on role małżeńskie i rodzicielskie. Rodzicielstwo stanowi nie tylko etap rozwojowy czy płaszczyznę samorealizacji, ale również jest dla człowieka źródłem poczucia sensu życia, zadowolenia i radości. Przejawia się ono w pełnieniu roli matki i ojca, zaś najwłaściwszym środowiskiem do tego pozostaje rodzina oparta na wzajemnej miłości, szacunku, odpowiedzialności i dialogu. W dobie współczesnych przemian społeczno-kulturowych zmianie ulegają modele życia rodzinnego i sposoby realizacji rodzicielstwa, co powoduje, że przygotowanie do odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa stanowi dziś ważny kierunek w edukacji młodego pokolenia.
The fundamental qualities of a fully functioning adult are a professional job and a family where they are able to fulfil their marital and parental roles. Parenthood is not only a developmental stage - an area of self-fulfilment - but it is also a wellspring for finding purpose in life, satisfaction and joy. It is manifested in the fulfilment of the role of ‘mother’ and ‘father’. A family based on mutual love, respect, responsibility and communication remains the most suitable environment for fulfilling these roles. In modern times socio-cultural pressures have changed the paradigm of family life and give rise to new challenges in for parents, which places preparation for responsible parenthood as an essential component in the education of a young generation. This issue will be elaborated upon in the presented article.

W artykule wyróżniono główne składowe środowiska edukacyjnego budujące tło relacji nauczyciel–uczeń. Podjęto próbę wykorzystania wątków analizy transakcyjnej do zgłębienia zagadnienia ról przyjmowanych przez nauczyciela oraz ich znaczenia dla jakości relacji nawiązywanych z uczniem i efektywności oddziaływań edukacyjnych. Wskazano te role, poprzez które realizowane są podstawowe zadania wpisane w cele edukacyjne – nauczające i wychowujące: nauczyciel jako wychowawca, mentor, coach, partner, przywódca, jako uczeń, jako ta kobieta/ten mężczyzna. Dokonano analizy relacji inter i intrapersonalnych nauczyciela w odniesieniu do analizy strukturalnej osobowości.
In the article the main features of the educational environment, which constitute the background of the teacher-student relation, have been distinguished. Additionally, an attempt has been made to apply main lines of transactional analysis for the exploration of the roles of the teacher, as well as their significance in the teacher-student relation and effectiveness of educational actions. Such roles as educational and formative, through which the basic tasks included in educational goals are realised, have been indicated. Thus, the article concentrates on the following roles of the teacher: counsellor, mentor, coach, partner, student, this woman/this man. The teacher’s inter-and intrapersonal relations were analyzed in relation to the structural analysis of personality.

Opis:
Contemporary changes in the socio-cultural reality, associated with the revolution in the field of information and the development of new technologies, provide a context for reflection on the problem of the sources of knowledge. The wide access to resources of various data, information and knowledge, related nowadays, in particular, to questions about the manners and limits of using artificial intelligence (AI) at the borderlines of science and education, provokes reflection on the role of contemporary science and its representatives. The reflections are undertaken from the perspective of comparative education, which is treated as a scientific discipline that studies different materials (sources) and constitutes also a field (source) of knowledge. The text presents three aspects of reflection: the origins and development of pedagogical comparativism; its contemporary opportunities and challenges; and the role of the researcher embedded in a vision of the future. Comparative education is presented as the discipline which, through actions and works of comparativists, establishes the value of progress and continuity as inherent developmental forces in culture.

Благодаря владению иностранными языками, человек имеет возможность попасть в новое социальное окружение не только у себя на родине, но и за ее пределами.
The article deals with the problem of social inequality in Ukraine, which influence on the quality of education, as well as the importance of learning foreign languages at school. This is a crucial characteristic of the quality of the population, form an important part of the social structure of the population and at the same time a means of social mobility. A good education, which includes the knowledge of foreign languages, there is a factor that may contribute to redistribution and differentiation of social classes because of high quality education. Due to knowledge of foreign languages, it has the opportunity to get into the new social environment, not only in the homeland, but also abroad.

Autorka odnosi się do doświadczeń nauczania na odległość, które zostało wprowadzone w polskich szkołach w marcu 2020 roku. Zastanawia się nad tym, jak w tej nowej formie edukacji można kształtować wartości moralne oraz jak można rozmawiać z nastolatkami na trudne tematy. Przedstawia propozycję utworów literackich, które można uczynić punktem odniesienia do namysłu (i dyskusji) na zdalnych lekcjach języka polskiego w klasach VII i VIII. Teksty zostały pogrupowane w obrębie takich wartości, jak: szacunek, odpowiedzialność, samodyscyplina (rozumiana jako rozwijanie własnego potencjału i samokontrola), sprawiedliwość, a także przyjaźń i miłość. Do każdej z zaproponowanych lektur autorka podaje metody i formy pracy z uczniami. Zmiana sposobu nauczania uwypukliła, jaka jest rola szkoły w nowoczesnym świecie.
The author refers to experiences of distance learning, which has been introduced in Polish schools in March 2020. The author is also concerned about how moral values may be shaped and how to discuss with teenagers about serious topics in the new form of education. She presents proposals of literary works, which may be a base for further considerations (and discussion) during remote Polish literature classes in 7th and 8th grade. Texts have been grouped taking into account such values as: respect, responsibility, self-discipline (meant as development of self-potential and self-control), fairness, as well as friendship and love. To each of the lectures referred the author is presenting methods and forms of work with students. The change of teaching form stressed out the role of school in the modern world.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie działalności pisarskiej i oświatowej polskich kobiet na przełomie XIX i XX wieku, która obejmowała nie tylko wiedzę z zakresu różnych dziedzin życia, tj. „wiedzę nienaukową”, ale także „wiedzę naukową” z rozmaitych obszarów intensywnie rozwijających się wtedy dyscyplin naukowych. W części pierwszej autorka przedstawia etapy wykształcenia, czyli merytoryczne przygotowanie kobiet do działalności popularyzatorskiej, zaś w części drugiej dokonuje wstępnej klasyfikacji piśmiennictwa popularnonaukowego ze względu na tematykę oraz formy gatunkowe, podając odpowiednie przykłady utworów (tytuły), zaczerpnięte z dziewiętnastowiecznych katalogów bibliograficznych. Do gatunków popularyzujących wiedzę naukową autorka zalicza teksty paraliterackie: powiastki i powieści o tematyce dydaktycznej i umoralniającej, powieści obyczajowe, powieści historyczne, a także fabularyzowane biografie sławnych ludzi. Oddzielną grupę stanowią monografie popularnonaukowe (będące często kryptopodręcznikami), pogadanki, odczyty, opowiadania i tzw. „obrazki” o tematyce naukowej (najczęściej przyrodniczej). Autorka zauważa, iż gatunkowe wzorce literatury popularnonaukowej przybyły do Polski z Europy Zachodniej i początkowo miały charakter przekładów oraz wyborów tekstów z polskimi komentarzami i parafraz; stopniowo jednak zaczęły powstawać dzieła oryginalne mówiące o polskich wynalazkach naukowych.
The aim of the article is presentation of writing activity of Polish women at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, which covered not only knowledge of various areas of life - “unscientific knowledge”, but also “scientific knowledge” comprising diverse, intensely advancing scientific disciplines. In the first part of the article, the author presents stages of education that is the preparation of women for popularizing activity, while in the second part she makes preliminary classification of popular science literature because of subject matter and genre forms. The author indicates thematic and genre groups, by specifying adequate work examples (titles), taken from 19th century bibliographic catalogues. She assimilated paraliterary works (didactic and moralizing novels, novels of manners, historical novels as well as fictionalized biographies of famous scholars) to genres popularizing scientific knowledge. Scientific monographs, lectures, readings, and novels make up a separate group. The author notes that genre patterns of popular science literature came to Poland from Western Europe and initially were in nature of translations and excerpts of texts with Polish commentary and paraphrases. Over time, original works speaking about Polish scientific discoveries and inventions began to arise.

From the very beginning, presence of women-mothers in the labor market have been causing a lot of controversy. The intellectual women’s work was particular condemn as an improper and disgraceful. Working women-mothers were blaming for withdrawal from the natural role: the patroness of heart. How are the conviction created by the very popular medium as a television series in the present time? Does it important that in many European countries, women represent more than half of all employees? Does it change a perception and representation the vocational role of the mothers? The aim of the article is an analysis of selected Polish and American television series for the characters working women-mothers and the way they are presented.

St. Melchior Grodziecki is presented in the context of peace education, which constitutes a set of fundamental principles of upbringing and role modelling in the modern world, while taking into account the aspect of the Saint’s veneration in the culturally diverse town of Cieszyn. The Saint’s biography is presented in the context of the epoch in which he lived. The issue of peace education and searching for role models significant in the life of contemporary people constitutes an important area of consideration. Attention is drawn to the reverence of St. Melchior Grodziecki in culturally diverse Cieszyn, with special reference to the year 2019, which was declared in the province of Silesia as the Year of Melchior Grodziecki. Melchior Grodziecki is an important model for the inhabitants of Cieszyn. On the basis of his biography, it is possible to explain and show what an important role is played in human life by history, which determines human fate and influences the choices made.
Celem tego opracowania jest przedstawienie postaci św. Melchiora Grodzieckiego w kontekście problematyki edukacji dla pokoju jako fundamentalnej zasady wychowania i wzorców osobowych we współczesnym świecie, z uwzględnieniem aspektu adoracji Świętego w zróżnicowanym kulturowo Cieszynie. Artykuł prezentuje biogram Świętego na tle epoki, w której żył. Ważnym obszarem rozważań staje się problematyka edukacji dla pokoju i poszukiwanie wzorców osobowych znaczących w życiu współczesnego człowieka. Autorka zwraca uwagę na rewerencję św. Melchiora Grodzieckiego w zróżnicowanym kulturowo Cieszynie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roku 2019 ogłoszonego w województwie śląskim Rokiem Melchiora Grodzieckiego. Święty jest ważnym wzorem dla mieszkańców Cieszyna. To pogranicze kultur, zróżnicowanie religijne, gdzie ewangelicy i katolicy współdziałają dziś dla wspólnego dobra, upoważnia społeczność lokalną do poszukiwania wzorców osobowych, które łączą, a nie dzielą i wzmacniają pokojowe współistnienie.

Education has been and remains the strongest stimulus for social development, and its goal has always been to prepare young people for effective and responsible social and professional activity in various stages of life. The role of universities and other tertiary education insitutions is strategic in this respect. By working with young people in the final stage of formal education, these institutions should prepare them for supporting a sustainable development of society through a responsible and competent fulfillment of social and professional roles. A permanent reference to the needs and problems of the changing society, should be, in addition to a high level of academic teaching as well as research and teaching activity, a priority for university.
Edukacja była i pozostaje najsilniejszym stymulatorem rozwoju społecznego, a jej celem pozostaje niezmiennie przygotowanie młodych ludzi do skutecznej i odpowiedzialnej aktywności społecznej i zawodowej na kolejnych etapach życia. Rola uniwersytetów i wyższych uczelni jest w tym zakresie strategiczna, bo współpracując z młodymi ludźmi w ramach ostatniego etapu edukacji formalnej, powinny przygotować ich do wspierania zrównoważonego rozwoju społeczeństwa poprzez odpowiedzialne i kompetentne pełnienie ról społecznych i zawodowych. Priorytetem dla aktywności uniwersytetu, uwzględniającej kształcenie na poziomie akademickim i działalność naukowo-badawczą, powinno być stałe odniesienie do potrzeb i problemów zmieniającego się społeczeństwa.

This article investigates children’s rights to safety under international law—identity and family rights, the right to be heard, the right to be free from discrimination, and other civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights—and consider the ways in which those rights are embedded in children’s literature in Poland, such as: Moje prawa – ważna sprawa by Piatkowska, Masz prawo by Kasdepke, Mam prawo i nie waham się go użyć by Olech and Bak, Masz prawa, człowieku by Wegrzecka and Zabielska-Stadnik and other picture books for youngest readers. Reviewing more than twenty-some children’s books (Janusz Korczak and another very best children’s authors), author of this article explores the role of children’s literature in disseminating human rights norms and education for safety. According to the author, if young children are supported to understand and celebrate concepts of truth, fairness and freedom and social skills in the area of security – especially through narratives – they are better equipped to recognize and challenge perils and consequently – children exhibit greater self-esteem and respect for the rights of others.

Opis:
The paper seeks to bring home to theorists and practitioners of education one of the branches of pedagogical thought, namely existential pedagogy. The main line of thinking in pedagogy can be defined in the following way: the point is to help people to overcome their banal existence and help them to choose a way towards authentic existence. Thus formulated watchword of this trend opens a new perspective on pedagogical thinking of great importance both theoretical and practical. It is true that in the end of the 1960s the peculiar vogue for existentialism was in the wane. Nevertheless it brought about a vivid interest in philosophy, introduced a new approach in many domains of science, including pedagogy. Consequently, the reality of education and its planning could better be recognized. By opening to what is non-verifiable, existentialism made it possible to seek after the sense of existence and education (interest in the noetic dimension), and to quest after a climate in which one could adopt an attitude of openness and overcome abstract categories (V. Frankl). The very categories of existentialism are significant, starting with the category of „existence” (Lat. existere - take place, exist, appear, be outside, go towards). Owing to existentialism such categories as „freedom,” experience etc. have clearly received a dynamic dimension in pedagogy. The author points to existentialism as a branch of contemporary philosophical thought with which is connected its appearance in pedagogical thought. The author devotes much attention, within the framework of basic problems of existential pedagogy, to the tasks and objectives of education. He does this by turning our attention to the axiology of existential pedagogy, understanding of the educational relationship, the role of educator/teacher and pupil/student in the overall dynamism of the educational process. Then he goes on to outline an existential approach to the methodology of education and instruction. By showing the main aspects of the existentialist trend in pedagogical thought, the paper may become a help in understanding not only how to approach the reality of education in the future, but also how to understand many ideas that have been imported to pedagogical thought by existentialism. Undoubtedly, existentialism has contributed to the recognition of the role of human experiences and emotions in the formation of personality. This can also be seen as an important element in the formation of a society that is more capable of empathy, dialogue, reconciliation, and sensitivity. It is especially valuable of existentialism that it has directed pedagogical thinking towards planning (in relation with the be-project idea) and the carrying out of plans in the future. They call for the climate of empathy, agreement, dialogue, and collaboration with others. Existentialism has faced criticism, but has also won great popularity and recognition. At least some of these attitudes are illustrated in the paper. Generally, one can say that undoubtedly existentialism has had its role in stressing a living concrete anew in pedagogical thought. Among other things, it has contributed a lot to the issue of coming to terms between individualism and socialization, subjectivism and objectivism, solving these problems by way of compromise between the two kinds of opposition.
