    Opis:
    This article addresses the problem of overcoming the discrepancy between faith and temporal engagement, signaled in the Gaudium et Spes of the Second Vatican Council and in many statements of John Paul II. It begins with the analysis of the Council’s text (no. 43), showing the historical-ecclesiastical, theological-spiritual and social causes of this discord. Then it points to certain elements of the Council's teaching, helpful in the theological and spiritual reflection on overcoming this split. In the second part, the article gives on this subject the theological and spiritual indications based on the conciliar theology of the laity according to Giuseppe Lazzati. In the final part, it supplements the earlier analyzes referring to the deepened ecclesiology, the broader concept of secularity, and to the science of building a synthesis between the faith and the temporal commitment included in the Christi fideles laici of John Paul II.
    Artykuł podejmuje problematykę przezwyciężenia rozdźwięku pomiędzy wiarą a zaangażowaniem doczesnym, sygnalizowaną w Gaudium et spes Soboru Watykańskiego II i w wielu wypowiedziach Jana Pawła II. Wychodzi od analizy tekstu soborowego (nr 43), ukazując historyczno-eklezjalne, teologiczno-duchowe oraz społeczne przyczyny owego rozdźwięku. Następnie wskazuje na pewne elementy nauki soborowej pomocne w teologicznej i duchowej refleksji nad przezwyciężeniem owego rozłamu. W drugiej części artykuł podaje na ten temat wskazania teologiczne i duchowe Giuseppe Lazzatiego oparte na soborowej teologii laikatu. W końcowej części uzupełnia wcześniejsze analizy, odwołując się do pogłębionej eklezjologii, poszerzonego pojęcia świeckości oraz do nauki na temat tworzenia syntezy między wiarą a zaangażowaniem doczesnym zawartych w Christifideles laici Jana Pawła II.

    Synodalność to pojęcie, które zyskało na popularności w Kościele katolickim w czasach pontyfikatu papieża Franciszka. Już pierwsze wieki chrześcijaństwa miały wpływ na formowanie się synodalnej drogi Kościoła. II Sobór Watykański położył fundament pod odnowienie życia synodalnego za pomocą nauki o kolegialności biskupów. Posoborowe prawo kanoniczne stworzyło możliwość organizowania synodów powszechnych, regionalnych i diecezjalnych. W celu wytłumaczenia procesu rozwoju świadomości synodalności w Kościele na przestrzeni dziejów autor analizuje i wyjaśnia podstawowe pojęcia w punkcie explicatio terminorum (1), następnie opisuje wybrane wydarzenia synodalne i soborowe, które towarzyszyły dziejom Kościoła (2), wskazuje na dziedzictwo, które przetrwało do dzisiejszych czasów (3), i ukazuje aktualny stan zakresu działań sprzyjających formowaniu wiernych do synodalności w Kościele (4).
    Synodality is a concept that gained popularity in the Catholic Church during the pontificate of Pope Francis. Already the first centuries of Christianity had an impact on the formation of the synodal path of the Church. The Second Vatican Council laid the foundation for the renewal of synodal life through the doctrine of the collegiality of bishops. Post-conciliar canon law created the possibility of organizing universal, regional and diocesan synods. In order to explain the process of development of the awareness of synodality in the Church throughout history, the author analyses and explains the basic concepts in the point explicatio terminorum (1), then describes selected synodal and conciliar events that have accompanied the history of the Church (2), points to a legacy that has survived to the present day (3) and shows the current state of the range of activities conducive to the formation of the faithful for synodality in the Church (4).

    However, patronage's right is a “dead letter” because it is not regulated in biding legal provisions, it is still noticeable. In the article it is described relict of patronage's right in the Code of Canon Law of 1983 that is the privilege of the presentation for an ecclesiastical offices – designation the more qualified candidates to the unfilled vacancy. The Author presents the term of patronage's right in the universal Church and in Poland both in historical and in legal dimension. The lay Christian faithful, in the Code of Canon Law of 1983, can not get privilege of the presentation for an ecclesiastical office. It was regulated in the Code of Canon Law of 1917 differently, because the institution of patronage's right was described and the privileges flowing from that rights, i.e. privilege of the presentation for an ecclesiastical office. At the same time, the legislator in the Code of Canon Law of 1917 prohibited the creation of this right in the future, regardless of legal basis.

    In the context of the modern culture, with its manifest anti-vocational and anti-priestly tendencies, priestly credibility is an important and topical issue. Benedict XVI is among the theologians who take an interest in the apology of the Holy Orders. In his publications and appearances, he delves into the biblical sources of priestly identity and the abundant tradition of the Church. The Pope underscores the need for authenticity in the life and service of the presbyters. In other words, he calls for their credibility, understood chiefly as the dedication of their whole life to giving witness to their unity with Jesus Christ, their bishops and their presbyterate, and the lay faithful to whom they are sent.
    Problematyka wiarygodności kapłana (prezbitera) jest ważna i aktualna w kontekście współczesnej kultury, w której widoczne są trendy antypowołaniowe i antykapłańskie. Benedykt XVI należy do teologów, którzy swoimi zainteresowaniami obejmują apologię sakramentu święceń. W swych publikacjach i wystąpieniach sięga do biblijnych źródeł kapłańskiej tożsamości oraz czerpie z bogatej tradycji Kościoła. Papież podkreśla konieczność autentyczności w życiu i posłudze prezbiterów, czyli ich wiarygodności. Rozumie ją przede wszystkich jako świadectwo życia dawane na trzech podstawowych płaszczyznach: jedności z Jezusem Chrystusem, jedności ze swym biskupem i z prezbiterium oraz jedności z wiernymi świeckimi, do których został posłany.

    This article analyses the contemporary canonical-legal situation of lays in the relation to the execution of the Church power of governance. It undertakes this question on the field of executive after the position of the laity in some special cases. In the field of legislative is participation of the laity not to be expected. In the largest extent, the lays are involved into the exercise of the judicial power of the Church. Article describes the concrete possibilities of involvement of the lays into the work of Church tribunals as judges, defenders of the bond, promoters of justice, notaries, advocates, procurators and experts. This paper refers to multivalent interpretations of the possibility of participation of lays on the judicial power of the Church that comes out from norms comprised in c. 129 § 2 C.I.C. a c. 1421 § 2 C.I.C., as like as that if the lays can be the bearers of this power and on witch base, or if they only participate on its execution. In this field will be necessary to work out a theological base and to precise the legislation for the better formal precision and clarity of law in this sphere.

    The teaching of the Second Vatican Council develops an understanding of the Church as an integral entirety, present in the world and operating in accordance with its nature and purpose. Every personal commitment of a lay faithful, every effort made and each achievement has an impact on others and the whole Church. However, the commitment of adult Catholics to the world requires their appropriate preparation. Therefore, this article will first present the ecclesiological foundations of the lay faithful’s earthly commitment, and then, the process of their preparation, taking into consideration their personal and religious development. Finally it will also explore the meaning of the community as the place of their permanent formation.

    Introduced after the Second Vatican Council, the norm permitting the lay person to be a qualified witness of marriage entered in the canonical form has not been yet further elaborated in Polish canonist literature. This study seeks to fill this gap in the Polish canonist literature. The first part of the presentation is devoted to the development of the norm in post-conciliar legislation before the promulgation of the 1983 Code of Canon Law. The next part presents the conditions for the delegation of a lay person to assist at marriage in accordance with canon 1112: a lack of priests and deacons, consent of the diocesan bishop with the favourable vote of the conference of bishops and the permission of the Holy See. The last addressed issue is the duties of delegated lay persons in connection with their task to prepare the intending parties for marriage, to verify their ability to conclude it, to preside over the ritual, and to record this fact in church documentation.

    Wprowadzona po Soborze Watykańskim II norma zezwalająca na ustanawianie osoby świeckiej świadkiem kwalifikowanym małżeństwa zawieranego w formie kanonicznej nie została dotychczas szerzej opracowana naukowo w języku polskim. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą zapełnienia tej luki w polskiej literaturze kanonistycznej. Pierwsza część przedłożenia poświęcona jest rozwojowi normy w prawodawstwie posoborowym przed promulgacją Kodeksu Prawa Kanonicznego z 1983 r. Następnie zostały omówione warunki umożliwiające delegowanie świeckiego do asystowania przy zawarciu małżeństwa zawarte w kan. 1112 tegoż Kodeksu: brak kapłanów i diakonów oraz delegacja biskupa diecezjalnego po uzyskaniu pozytywnej opinii Konferencji Biskupów i zezwolenia ze strony Stolicy Apostolskiej. Ostatnim zaprezentowanym zagadnieniem są obowiązki delegowanego świeckiego w związku z powierzonym mu zadaniem, do których należy przygotowanie nupturientów do małżeństwa, zweryfikowanie ich zdolności do jego zawarcia, przewodniczenie obrzędowi oraz zatroszczenie się o odpowiednie odnotowanie tego faktu w dokumentacji kościelnej.

The first part of the presentation is devoted to the development of the norm in post-conciliar legislation before the promulgation of the 1983 Code of Canon Law. The next part of this dissertation presents the conditions for delegation of lay person to assist at marriage in accordance with Can. 1112 of this Code: lack of priests and deacons, consent of the diocesan bishop with favorable vote of the conference of bishops and permission of the Holy See. The last presented issue is the duties of a delegated lay persons in connection with the task entrusted to them to prepare the nupturients for marriage, to verify their ability to conclude it, to preside over the rite and to take note of this fact in the church documentation.

    W artykule omówiono kaznodziejskie nauczanie Grzegorza Wielkiego na temat postaw i zadań głosiciela i słuchacza Bożego słowa. Zarówno bowiem od kapłana, głoszącego słowo, jak i wiernych, którzy słuchają słowa, zależy końcowy efekt. Tak więc głosiciel słowa powinien być świadkiem głoszonej prawdy, któremu zależy na zbawieniu powierzonych sobie wiernych. Nie powinien zajmować się niczym, co odciąga go od duszpasterstwa. W takim bowiem przypadku będzie jedynie najemnikiem, a nie pasterzem, który zna swoje owce. Nawet najbardziej gorliwa posługa słowa nie przyniesie owoców, jeżeli wierni nie będą przyjmować głoszonych prawd do swego serca. Sprawdzianem przyjętego słowa jest codzienne życie wiernych.
    The paper discusses the proclamatory teaching of Gregory the Great on the attitudes and tasks of the preacher and the hearer of the Word of God. Both are significant as the final effect of the preaching depends on the priest who proclaims the Word as well as on the faithful who hear the Word. Therefore, the preacher of the Word should be a witness of the proclaimed truth who is concerned for the salvation of the faithful entrusted to his care. He should not engage into any activity that interferes with his pastoralministry. Otherwise he would be merely a hired hand not a shepherd who knows his sheep. However, even a deeply committed ministry of the Word will not bear fruit if the faithful do not receive the proclaimed truths into their hearts. The everyday life of the faithful is a test of their reception of the Word.

    Holy water can help lay people in their pursuit of sainthood. It remindsthem about the sacrament of baptism and encourages to be grateful to Godfor such a great gift, to feel joy and pride in being Christian. It helps to prepare for the Eucharist and raises awareness God’s presence. Through holywater God absolves the venial sins when we use it in the spirit of remorse.This water constitutes an element of the blessing which is given by parentsto their children on the basis of priesthood arising from the mystery ofbaptism. It plays an important role in the Christian customs related to burial,indicating the exceptional meaning of human death, the dignity of the humanbody, the mystery of the purgatory and the significance of the prayer forthe dead. Holy water is used in blessings and shows the need to sanctify thewhole human life, the everyday existence, the various dimensions of humanlabour and activity. Sometimes it is kept in the houses of the believers towhich they can resort to in moments of temptation. Many saints talks of theimportance of holy water as protection from the evil spirit. Furthermore, itprovides consolation, reassurance in spiritual struggle and internal renewal.There is also the danger of abuse: mechanical use, giving up the spiritualstruggle with venial sins, neglecting everyday duties, magical thinking.
