    In Gospel of Luke there are a number of critical statements about rich people. The third Evan- gelist wrote down, for example: [God] sent the rich away with empty hands (Lk 1: 53). But how terrible for you who are rich now, you have had your easy life ( Lk 6: 24). The third Evangelist wrote down not only single, critical sentences about the rich, but exten- sive excerpts. He enrolled for example: the text of the greed (Lk 12: 13-21), the parable about the rich man and Lazarus (Lk 16: 19-31) the text of a great feast (Lk 14: 15-24) and the text of rich man (Lk 18: 18-30).  The last one, namely text of rich man (Lk 18: 18-30) focuses on the ability to make choices in the perspective of the kingdom of God. It is a sharp rebuke directed to the rich. Luke in this text warned the rich, that the penalty for them for their sinful choices in temporality, will be eternal damnation. In this article was analyzed this text.

    The article addresses the problem of the Church’s relationship to the world. Christians have always been aware that they have been sent into the world to preach the Gospel, with the consequent aim of transforming the world so that the kingdom of God initiated by Christ could be realised in it. Thus, the mission of Christ’s disciples had to involve engaging with the surrounding reality in its social, political, cultural and economic dimensions. The aim of this article will be to show how Christians understood and implement their participation in shaping the human world. It is quite apparent that Christians have always faced (up until today) a dilemma that can be summarised in the phrase: the Church between negation and acceptance of the world. The unravelling of this dilemma was influenced mainly by two factors. The first was the awaiting of the end of time, which was to be brought about by the final coming of the kingdom of God. This motif in shaping the attitude of Christians towards the world played a decisive role in the first generations of Christ’s disciples, although it was also significant in later centuries. The second factor was the legal status of Christianity — above all in the Roman Empire, where Christianity took its roots most deeply and spread most widely. With these initial assumptions in mind, the article first examines the question of Christians’ hope for the imminent arrival of the kingdom of God, which had a significant impact on their activity in the temporal world. In the next stage of consideration, the period in which the radical change in the legal status of Christianity took place at the time of Constantine the Great and his successors is examined. These transformations fundamentally altered the Church’s relationship to the world while the legal and social position of the Church formed at that time affected for centuries the manner in which the Church was present in the world. The consequences of the transformations of the Constantinian era have persisted essentially into modern times. The examination of this issue has become the subject of the final section of this article.

    The aim of the article is an analysis of the life and philosophical output of Piotr Czaadajew – the chief representative of the so-called Golden Age of the Russian culture. Czaadajew’s viewpoints represent the whole of Russian religious and philosophical thought that has placed the issue of an individual and history first. Czaadajew was the first Russian philosopher to pose the question of the sense of Russia’s existence against the broad ideological background of Christian tradition. According to him, only Catholicism was the power that created history and was able to bring mankind closer to the realization of the Kingdom of God on the earth. His demand to build the Kingdom of the Lord immediately relates to his personal attempts to find a sort of an order in the faith in God. Czaadajew – a melancholic and would-be suicide, saw in Christianity a horizon of hope for both an individual and mankind.

    W artykule przedstawiono najważniejsze etapy dyskusji wokół początków Kościoła od teologii liberalnej do Antona Vögtle. Autorzy „pierwszego consensusu” szkoły historyczno-liberalnej (Harnack, Loisy) zakwestionowali obecność jakiejkolwiek formy zorganizowanego Kościoła w życiu i nauczaniu Jezusa. „Nowy consensus” szkoły eschatologiczno-nowotestamentalnej (Cullmann, Oepke, Beetz) określił Kościół jako Lud Boży czasów ostatecznych, którego fundamenty mają swoje źródło w życiu i nauczaniu ziemskiego Jezusa. Ostateczne ukonstytuowanie się Kościoła dokonało się w wydarzeniach Jego śmierci i zmartwychwstania, a potwierdzone zostało eschatologicznym darem Ducha Świętego w dniu Pięćdziesiątnicy. Sukces „nowego consensusu”, do którego nawiązywała również tradycyjna eklezjologia katolicka, został poważnie osłabiony przez Bultmanna. Kolejni teologowie (Petersen, Vögtle) wyłączają ziemskiego Jezusa (a przynajmniej pewne Jego działania) z okresu założycielskiego Kościoła iprzesuwają czas jego powstania na okres popaschalny, w którym to zmartwychwstały Pan poprzez zesłanie Ducha Świętego i w kooperacji (synergii) ze swoimi uczniami zakłada i buduje swój Kościół. W ten sposób Kościół jawi się nie tyle jako „gotowa budowla”, lecz jako proces („permanentna eklezjogeneza”), którego początki dostrzega się w relacji Jezusa do idei Królestwa Bożego, uczniów, a przede wszystkim do tajemnicy Jego śmierci i Zmartwychwstania.
    The article presents the evolution of the discussion about the origins of the Church from liberal theology to Anton Vögtle. Authors of the “first consensus” of the historical-liberal school (Harnack, Loisy) questioned the presence of any form of organised Church in the life and teaching of Jesus. The “new consensus” of the eschatological New Testament school (Cullmann, Oepke, Beetz) described the Church as God's People of the ultimate times, whose foundations are the life and teaching of earthly Jesus. The ultimate foundation of the Church occurred during Jesus' death and resurrection. It was confirmed by an eschatological gift of pouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of the Pentecost. The success of the “new consensus”, which is also linked to traditional Catholic ecclesiology, was seriously undermined by Bultmann. Later theological writing (Petersen, Vögtle) excludes earthly Jesus (or at least some of His actions) from the formative period of the Church and point to the post-Paschal period. The resurrected Lord, through pouring of the Holy Spirit and cooperation (synergy) with His disciples, establishes and builds up His Church. In this respect the Church is not as much a ready-made establishment but a process (“permanent ecclesiogenesis”). Its origins are found in the relationship between Jesus and the idea of God's Kingdom, His disciples, and in the mystery of His death and Resurrection.

    Biorąc pod uwagę posoborowe podejście do sakramentologii, oparte na idei Kościoła Chrystusowego jako żywej historii zbawienia, treść artykułu odnosi się do eklezjalnych aspektów programu duszpasterskiego Kościoła w Polsce. Dlatego sakrament bierzmowania jest ujęty w perspektywie eklezjologicznej, bez zbytniego zgłębiania problematyki katechetycznej czy liturgicznej. Najpierw zwraca uwagę na sakrament dojrzałości chrześcijańskiej w aspekcie trwałości Kościoła jako ludu Bożego. W kolejnym paragrafie koncentruje się na uczestnictwie tych, którzy przyjęli sakrament bierzmowania w apostolskich zadaniach ludu Bożego, akcentując zwłaszcza przyjęcie przez nich pełnej odpowiedzialności za losy Kościoła. Zwieńczeniem artykułu jest zobrazowanie ewangelizacji współczesnego świata przez ubogacenie świata nowym obliczem świętości na miarę królestwa Bożego, które przez Chrystusa w mocy Ducha Świętego nieustannie wzrasta wśród ludzi, aż do ostatecznego spełnienia w Bogu, który będzie „wszystkim we wszystkich” (por. 1 Kor 15,24.28).
    Theological and ecclesial aspects of confirmation Summary Considering the post-conciliar approach to sacramentology based on the idea of the Church of Christ as a living history of salvation, the article presents the sacrament of confirmation in its ecclesiological aspect. First, it draws attention to the sacrament of Christian maturity in the aspect of the Church’s stability as the people of God. In the next paragraph it focuses on the participation of those who have accepted the sacrament of confirmation in the apostolic tasks of God’s people, emphasizing in particular their taking full responsibility for the fate of the Church. The climax of the article is the depiction of the modern world’s evangelization by enriching the world with a new ideal of holiness according to the Kingdom of God, which through Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit is constantly increasing among people until the final fulfillment in God who will be „all in all” (see 1 Cor 15:24.28).

    Autor podejmuje problem zbawczej wartości religii pozachrześcijańskich w perspektywie eklezjologicznej. Wychodząc od prawd o powszechnej woli zbawczej Boga i konieczności Kościoła stawia tę kwestię w odniesieniu do temporalnego wymiaru katolickości Kościoła. Tym samym rozciąga pytanie o zbawienie w religiach poza wymiar aktualny, najpierw w przeszłość, na czas preegzystencji Kościoła. Uzasadnia, że zasada extra Ecclesiam salus nulla jest zachowana także w tym okresie dzięki czasowemu wymiarowi jego katolickości Kościoła, a religie można rozumieć jako przyporządkowane do niego i jako znak zbawienia. Następnie, w perspektywie obu prawd, poddaje eklezjologicznej interpretacji główne teorie zbawczej wartości religii. Na tej podstawie, przyjmując, że religie stanowią wyraz powszechnej woli zbawczej Boga, można mówić o realizacji w nich wymiaru eklezjologicznego, a tym samym uznać je za znak zbawienia. W ostatniej części autor podejmuje problem relacji religii do królestwa Bożego.
    The author of this article presents the question of salvific value of non-Christian religions from the ecclesiological perspective. God wants all people to be saved and the Church is necessary for salvation. Can these two statements be applied to individual adherents of non-Christian religions only or to their faith communities too? Taking the temporal dimension of the Church’s Catholicity he concludes that if the salvific will of God works in other religions, they must be included in this dimension of the Ecclesia. The author maintains that in the light of the teaching of the Second Vatican Council on where non-Christians stand in regard of the Church and her missionary activities, we can talk about some kind of correspondence of other religions to the Church and a sign of salvation. Then, in the perspective of both statements, he refers to the main theories regarding the salvific value of non-Christian religions. In the final part, the author takes up the issue of relation between religions and the kingdom of God.

    Problematyka podjęta w artykule dotyczy zagadnienia założenia Kościoła. Najnowsze badania egzegetyczne i teologiczne potwierdzają, że jest ono wieloaspektowe i wielowymiarowe. Współcześnie nie mówi się już o jednym akcie fundacji Kościoła, lecz o szeregu wydarzeń eklezjotwórczych. Zostały one opisane i wyróżnione przez teologów, jak również w dokumentach Urzędu Nauczycielskiego Kościoła. Założycielem Kościoła jest Jezus Chrystus. Chrystus i Kościół są nierozłączni. Nie ma Eklezji bez Jezusa. Całe Jego życie, słowa i czyny, posiadają wyraźny charakter eklezjotwórczy. Podobnie, nie znamy Jezusa bez Kościoła, bez wspólnoty którą zebrał wokół siebie i w której się wciąż udziela. W procesie eklezjogenezy wyróżniono wydarzenie ustanowienia przez Jezusa Dwunastu. Zostają oni powołani z większej grupy uczniów, aby być z Mistrzem, naśladować styl Jego życia i kontynuować Jego posłannictwo. Reprezentują oni dwanaście pokoleń Izraela i stają się znakiem ludu Bożego czasów ostatecznych. W dziele „stworzenia” Dwunastu rozpoczyna się realizacja zamysłu „stworzenia” Izraela czasów ostatecznych, czyli początek królestwa Bożego już tu na ziemi. Dwunastu, jako zalążek Kościoła, stają się pierwszymi głosicielami królowania Boga, czyli dobrej nowiny o zbawieniu. Czynią to z polecenia i z mocą Jezusa, a także w Jego zastępstwie. Ustanowienie przez Jezusa Dwunastu było działaniem instytucjonalnym. Jako posłani do całego Izraela, stali się nosicielami urzędu, który na zasadzie sukcesji będzie następnie kontynuowany w Kościele. Dwunastu tworzą podstawową strukturę Kościoła, należą do jego konstytutywnych elementów.
    The subject matter of the article is the foundation of the Church. The latest exegetical and theological research proves that it was multi-faceted and multidimensional. Presently, one no longer refers to a single act of foundation but rather a number of such events. They have been described and outlined by theologians as well as the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. The founder of the Church is Jesus Christ. Christ and the Church are inseparable.There is no Ecclesia without Christ. His whole life, words and deeds display a distinctive Church-creating trait. Similarly, we do not know Christ without the Church, without the community he created around himself and in which he still manifests Himself.The commissioning of the Twelve Apostles by Christ has been highlighted in the process of ecclesiogenesis. The Apostles are called from a greater number of followers in order to bewith the Master, copy His way of life and continue His mission. They represent the twelve generations of Israel and become the sign of the People of God of End Times. The „creation”of the Twelve begins the realization of the concept of the „creation” of Israel of End Times, that is the beginning of the Kingdom of God on Earth. The Twelve, as the seed of the Church,become the first preachers of the reign of God or the Good News of salvation. They do it on the orders and with the power of Christ, and also in His stead. The Commissioning of the Twelve by Jesus was an institutionalised operation. By being sent all over Israel they became the bearers of the office which would in turn be continued within the Church. The twelve form the basic structure of the Church and belong to its constitutive elements.

    Opis:
    Celem artykułu jest wskazanie na rolę metafory DROGI jako środka perswazji w dyskursie kaznodziejskim. Materiał do badań stanowią kazania wygłoszone w roku 2010 i 2011, zebrane w jednym z tomów „Świętokrzyskich kazań radiowych”. Jak wynika z przeprowadzonej analizy, metaforyka DROGI (m.in. obok metaforyki SERCA) występowała najczęściej w badanych tekstach. Praca nad kazaniami doprowadziła do stwierdzenia, iż pojawiają się w nich często następujące komponenty: cel DROGI (wymiennie pielgrzymki) – Królestwo Niebieskie oraz Bóg jako ten, który pomaga człowiekowi w jego DRODZE do celu. Bóg człowiekowi pokazuje właściwą DROGĘ, prowadzi nią, idzie z człowiekiem, wyposaża go na DROGĘ. W kazaniach pojawiły się wskazania na niewłaściwe postawy człowieka, czyli chodzenie nieodpowiednią DROGĄ. Przedstawione przykłady, pochodzące z tekstów kaznodziejskich, są dowodem na to, że metaforyka DROGI ułatwia przekazanie odbiorcom prawd trudnych, związanych ze sferą sacrum, za pomocą prostych sformułowań, które jednocześnie zwiększają obrazowość i komunikatywność przekazu. Metaforyka DROGI jest jednym ze skutecznych środków perswazji w kazaniach.
    The aim of an article is to show the role of the road metaphor as a mean of persuasion in discourse of the preacher. The material of researches was taken from sermons, that were pronounced in years 2010 and 2011, gathering together in one of volumes: „Świętokrzyskie broadcast sermons”. As a result of carried on analysis – road methaphor (together with inter alia heart methaphor) performs most frequently in examined texts. Studies show that in sermons following components were used the most frequently: aim of the road (mentioning of pilgrimage) – kingdom of Heaven, and the God, as the One, who helps a man in his road to aim. The God shows to the man appropriate road, leads him, goes with him, equips him. Sermons bring out inappropriate attitudes of the man: walking on the wrong road. Showed examples, coming from sermons, prove that road metaphor simplifies recipients to communicate difficult truths, conected with sacrum sphere, with help of simple expressions, that increasing imagery and communication of speech.

    W artykule zaprezentowano negatywny wpływ niektórych koncepcji misjologicznych na kryzys misji na przykładzie wybranych dokumentów z Ameryki łacińskiej. Pierwsze niebezpieczeństwo związane jest z manipulacją samym pojęciem misja oraz używaniem niesprecyzowanych, obciążonych ideologicznie, pojęć pluri‑ i multikulturowość. Kolejnym niebezpieczeństwem jest autonomizacja dialogu i pluralizmu religijnego, co wiąże się z przewartościowaniem biblijnego pojęcia Królestwa Bożego. Ostatnie niebezpieczeństwo wynika z nadreprezentacji takich terminów, jak ubodzy, peryferia i ekologia. Na zakończenie ukazuje się wagę dialogu wewnątrzkościelnego i stosowania norm inkulturacji.
    The paper is a reflection over the influence of some modern missiological concepts on the crisis of the missionary activity. The negation of the definition of the mission from the Ad gentes, 6 and its substitution coined by different authors. These ideas are introduced into the theological reflection usually by pastoral documents. As an example is used 2 of them, prepared by the theologians from Latin America. The author of the paper does not condemn them at all, but shows some dangers which can guide in opposite direction than the indicated by the teaching of the Church. The first of those dangers is the manipulation on the notion of the mission until the possibility to separate the mission from God. The second danger consist in the use of the notions of pluri‑ and multiculturalism, conditioned by some ideological concepts. Another danger is the over‑use of the notion of the religious pluralism and the dialogue, that is strongly tied to the revaluation of the notion of the Kingdom of God into the values of the Kingdom. This issue is bound for the over‑representation in the reflection of the terms like: poor, periphery, and ecology, the meaning of which, in many cases, is alien to the tradition of the Church. At the end of his reflection the author shows the importance of the intra‑ecclesial dialogue and the necessity of the correct application of the principles of the inculturation.

    This paper presents and discusses the main ideas of August Cieszkowski set forth in his Ojcze–Nasz [Our Father]. This treatise, presently known only to historians of Polish philosophy and historians of ideas, is one of the best examples worldwide of messianic consciousness and approach and, simultaneously, an original attempt to unite philosophy (social philosophy and the dialectical method) with religion. One of the tasks of historians of Polish philosophy is to disseminate the most significant works of older Polish thinkers and make them known internationally. Such then is the aim of this paper. The final sections additionally present contemporary disputes emerging in Poland as to the interpretation of Our Father and my position in these disputes as one of its active participants.

    This study begins with a brief outline of the essence of the whole encyclical Caritas in veritate. Benedict XVI expresses the desire for „the dialogue with the world”. He understands this dialogue as a special kind of the service of the Church towards eternal love and truth, fully revealed in Christ. The dialogue of the Church with the world, in the spirit of love and truth, is accomplished every day at the level of so-called official relations. There are numerous opinions that in the past the Church repeatedly neglected the dialogue with the world. Indeed, the Church historians point out the existence of examples of the fall of the authority of the Holy See in particular countries and circumstances. Similarly, the Church is the sign of objection in the contemporary world. Instructed by past experiences the Church is aware that what is necessary for the renewal of culture and society, is evangelical love and truth.

    Artykuł ma charakter studium biblijno-teologicznego i jest próbą opisania grup społecznych, które w świetle nauczania Jezusa mają status ludzi ubogich. Podstawą prowadzonych analiz były teksty biblijne Mk 1,15; por. Mt 4,17; Łk 4,43, następnie Łk 4,18-19, oraz Łk 6,20 i Mt 5,3 i wiele innych tekstów. Ewangeliczni ubodzy są pierwszymi adresatami Dobrej Nowiny. Według autora nie ulega wątpliwości, że ubóstwo ma w Ewangelii wiele różnych postaci. Na pierwszym miejscu wymienia ubóstwo materialne, ale zaraz potem wielorakie ubóstwo mn Dobrej Nowiny, według ówczesnych poglądów wykluczonych z królestwa Bożego: wdów i sierot, ludzi prostych, ludu ziemi (am ha'aretz). Następnie na uwagę zasługują ludzie chorzy i cierpiący, grzeszni czy zniewoleni duchowo. Te grupy stały się beneficjentami nadejścia królestwa Bożego.
    The article gives the description of human poverty in the light of the teaching of Jesus Christ. The basis for the analyses gave numerous biblical texts: Mk 1:15; cf. Matt 4:17; Luke 4:43, as well Luke 4:18-19, also Luke 6:20 and Matt 5:3 and in addition many others. The poor of the Gospels are the first recipients of the kingdom of God. According to the author the evangelical poor have many different faces and also poverty has many dimensions. The first of all it is the material lack and need. However in the light of Gospels there are many others categories of poor people, for example the people excluded for their social and religious position: widows and children, little ones, am ha'aretz. There are many others people: sick and suffering, sinners and outlawed, men with an unclean spirit. All these people were the recipients and beneficiaries of the kingdom of God.

    The author enlightens the novel approach to the question of truth of Sacred Scripture as presented in the recent document by Pontifical Biblical Commission, “The Inspiration and Truth of Sacred Scripture.” The approach is projected on the background of the teaching on inspiration in the period before, during and after the Vatican Council II. The author stresses the shift that occurred from speaking of the truth necessary for salvation to the truth on God that wants to save man. The word of God as inspired comes from God and speaks about Him. The truth of Sacred Scripture has a performative and polyphonic character; it’s expressed in forms that are historically and literally conditioned. It’s disclosed in the subsequent books of the Bible side by side to the development of the history of salvation. The content of the truth of Sacred Scripture in the first place consists of the truth on God, the Creator who reveals himself as a person in Jesus Christ. The truth about salvation is focused on the resurrection of Christ and on the message about a Christian who becomes the heir of the Kingdom of God. It stresses, with the special power, the role of the word of God in the process of man’s salvation. The “true word of God” is a carrier of the salvific novelty of Christ the Lord who changes the “old man” into the “new creation.”
    Na tle przedsoborowej, soborowej i posoborowej nauki na temat prawdy Pisma Świętego autor przedstawia jej oryginalne ujęcie w dokumencie Papieskiej Komisji Biblijnej Natchnienie i prawda Pisma świętego. Podkreśla, że dokonano przesunięcia akcentu: z prawdy koniecznej do zbawienia na prawdę o Bogu, który chce zbawić człowieka. Słowo Boże, które jako natchnione pochodzi od Boga, mówi o Bogu. Prawda Pisma Świętego, zauważa autor, ma charakter performatywny, polifoniczny i jest wyrażona w formach uwarunkowanych historycznie i literacko. Rozwijana jest w kolejnych księgach Biblii wraz z rozwojem objawienia w kolejnych etapach historii zbawienia. Treścią prawdy Pisma Świętego jest w pierwszym rzędzie orędzie o Bogu Stworzycielu i o Bogu, który objawia się jako Osoba w Jezusie Chrystusie. Z kolei prawda o zbawieniu koncentruje się w zmartwychwstaniu Chrystusa i w orędziu o chrześcijaninie, który staje się dziedzicem Królestwa Bożego. Ze szczególną mocą podkreśla rolę słowa Bożego w procesie zbawienia człowieka. „Prawdziwe słowa Boże” to nośniki zbawczej nowości Chrystusa-Pana, która przemienia „starego człowieka” w „nowe stworzenie”.

    Wzajemne przenikanie się czasu i wieczności winno być brane pod uwagę w każdej refleksji teologicznej. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na pewne ogólne ramy, które warto uwzględnić w rozpracowywaniu poszczególnych kwestii teologicznych. „Niewysłowione zjednoczenie” czasu i wieczności to jedna z odsłon tej samej tajemnicy Chrystusa, którą teolog winien dostrzegać w każdym z misteriów wiary. We wszystkich zagadnieniach teologicznych daje o sobie znać współistnienie czasu i wieczności przy supremacji bieguna wiecznego.
    The mutual penetration of time and eternity should be taken into account in every theological reflection. The article deals with a general framework that is to be considered while working out particular theological issues. An “incomprehensible union” of time and eternity is one of the versions of the same Mystery of Christ which a theologian should recognize in every single mystery of faith. In all theological issues the coexistence of time and eternity is noticeable and the eternity polar is supreme here.
