The technological progress which dynamizes the process of mediatization, makes communication become transformed. Its main feature becomes imagery and rhetoricalness. Communiques are built on the basis of image and features of image which is a carrier of various functions, where the rhetorical persuasion is the main function. The present considerations are an analysis of examples of signs of mediatization of man and society as a phenomenon which is founded on the object of communiques formulated by man by means of digital media and communiques built without their contribution. A common feature of these acts of communication is imagery which seems to be a perennial tendency of the human mind and is visible already on the level of the language of words. Reflexions are a certain proposal of a direction of research of mediatization and many possible aspects, in which this process reveals itself, as well as contexts and interpretative prisms of rhetorical-philosophical conceptions.

Opis:
Józefowski considers interdisciplinary studies of creative workshop as art form. He describes the structure of his original workshop and discusses the role of imagination and image. Józefowski considers workshop as an art form dating back to the premises of the avant-garde (Here the term ‘avant-garde’ is broadly used to denote innovative artistic activity) and contained in the current of its post-avant-garde manifestations. He analyses the demand for personalization of art, which causes the rejection of the rigor of work imposed by the artistic structure that is defined by technique. The essence of art becomes a functional relation between the main participants of aesthetic events—a creative artist, an on-looker, a subject matter, a relation consisting in art-experiencing. Their functions intertwine, creating an aesthetical field (cf. A. Berleant, Prze-myśleć estetykę, Kraków 2007). The concept of workshop refers to the idea of shaping reality through art, espoused in all currents and formations of the avant-garde. The postulate refers to two dimensions of experiencing the reality— external and internal. The shaping of external reality is achieved through the arrangement of the public space, introduction of new order of social space, defined by work/artistic process. The shaping of the inner reality encompasses the influence of the creative situation experienced by an individual on his/her mental makeup: views, emotions, values.

The paper discusses issues related to communication via the Internet in the process of building an organization's image. The authors focus on the preparatory actions and strategic decisions that need to be taken so that long-term communication with Internet users could lead to expected results. The authors also point out to possibilities and ways of using the available tools and present in the selected case studies successful image-enhancing actions. When on 1 January 1983 a decision was taken to merge the ARPAnet and CSNET, giving rise to the nternet, hardy anyone realised the world was about to change beyond recognition. Within the two following decades the idea of computer connection reached out to practically all fields of human activity. With its ever widening availability, the new communication technology has become a natural environment for dialogue, information exchange and, consequently, the opinion forum. Today every subject hat actively functions in public space, be it a company, an institution or an individual, must think about eing present online (to a larger or lesser extent). This means, whether we like it or not, that our images co-created by the Internet.

The objective of the paper is to determine the characteristics and components of the Warsaw image residing in the consciousness of three investigated groups: metropolitans, entrepreneurs and tourists. A public opinion poll indicated that the prevailing features of respondents' associations with Warsaw were related to the city particularity as the capital of Poland. Metropolitans and entrepreneurs' conscious imagination of Warsaw were observed to be very suggestive, while tourists' were observed to be weak. The respondents regarded the city of Warsaw as the most attractive in Poland to run a business in and to visit, and as possessing many historical and cultural assets. The research showed that the majority of the investigated metropolitans, entrepreneurs and tourists judged the living conditions in the capital as good or very good.

Opis:
Contemporary discourse on refugees arriving from the Middle East to Poland revolves around two poles of the problem: the postulate of empathy towards people threatened by war and a danger that these people can supposedly impose on Poland and other EU countries. The religious factor seems to play a significant role in this discourse. Refugees who come from predominantly Muslim countries form a group of special interest for media, politicians and public opinion. In this context, it is important to examine how Poles perceive Islam, and how this image may be associated with attitudes towards accepting refugees. The aim of the study was to analyse narratives about Islam and the religious Other, emerging from partially structured interviews (N=31). The questionnaire, containing citations from the Bible, the Quran and holy scripture of new religious movements (the Bhagavad- Gita) served as the trigger for interviews conducted after filling in the questionnaire. The respondents’ task in the questionnaire was to assign – based on their own knowledge of the subject –these quotes to one of the scriptures. Because of the small and non-representative research sample, the results obtained did not allow for generalizations. However, they provide an important indication (to be tested in future research) how the most frequent associations with Islam (aggression, violence, and the lack of respect for women’s rights) might translate into attitudes towards accepting Muslim refugees in Poland.

The study aimed to compare the image of the national art museums in Poland among respondents studying art-related and non-art-related faculties and to identify significant differences in the image of national museums among those two groups surveyed. The study was conducted using a questionnaire survey among a purposely selected group. To evaluate whether differences in the image of Polish national art museums between the described groups of respondents are statistically significant, Student t-tests for independent samples were done. Although significant differences were found between the study groups, they were not as significant as expected. Students of art-related courses better perceive the national art museums, but even in this group, the image of the studied institutions is rather neutral. Respondents from both groups associate national art museums in Poland primarily with education and school trips. National art museums do not appear to young audiences as friendly and egalitarian places; at the same time, respondents do not see them as elite or prestigious institutions. While this does not mean an image failure for the museums surveyed, they should make an effort to make young audiences find them more welcoming.

The Association of Exiles, where the significant role for several years has been played by Erika Steinbach, runs a certain image Policy, based on certain facts presented in media. One should mention, first of all “The Chart of Germans Exiled from Homeland”, which is the basis and the fundamental reference point for all documents of the Association and the initiative of the “Centre Against Expulsions”, directed at evidencing fates of the Germans, who had to leave the areas which, according to the resolutions taken in Jalta and Potsdam, were transferred to other states. The present article is an attempt at describing image strategies applied by BdV. The basis is an analysis of the home page of the Association and “The Chart of German Exiles”.

The cohabitation of different nations in the border of one state creates certain ethnic, social, mental collective nation’s image which changes very slowly. These processes are enhanced during the global historical processes with significant devastating effects which lead to an alteration in public consciousness.During World War І, under the influence of the external crisis circumstances, the necessity to take into account the strategic interests and fundamental values of the nations involved in the war, led to a change in perception of the image of the Pole. The image of a Pole as a disloyal person to Russian statehood had changed into the image of a true confederate in the mutual striving with the enemy.Perception of the Poles as partners in state‑building and international cohabitation became possible only due to global geopolitical changes, the policy of powerful nations, including the Polish territory and the ability of Polish political powers to consolidate their efforts around the idea of statehood restoration.

Ciało we współczesnym społeczeństwie pełni rolę swoistej waluty, stając się cenionym dobrem. Promowane jest ciało młode – sprawne i zdrowe, stąd większość poszukiwań badawczych dotyczy młodych osób. Z uwagi jednak na starzenie się społeczeństw coraz więcej badaczy podejmuje problem doświadczania własnej cielesności w grupie osób w średnim i starszym wieku. Celem artykułu jest analiza badań poświęconych cielesności w grupie osób starszych i próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, na ile kult ciała dotyczy także tej grupy. Wyniki doniesień są często sprzeczne i trudno jednoznacznie wskazać, na ile zadowolenie z ciała zmienia się na przestrzeni życia, a także na ile zdrowie i sprawność fizyczna stają się ważniejsze niż atrakcyjny wygląd u osób starszych.
In modern society body plays significant role, thus becoming a great value. As young and healthy body is promoted, the majority of research explorations focuses on young people. However, due to ageing societies, more and more researchers investigate the problem of experiencing one’s body by middle-aged and elderly people. The main aim of this paper is to analyse the research on body in a group of elderly people. Also, the article attempts to answer the question as to what extent the cult of body can refer to this group. The results of research are often contradictory and it is difficult to clearly indicate how satisfaction with body changes across the life span and to what extent health and fitness become more important than looking attractive in elderly people.

This article presents the results of the empirical study of social representations of high school teachers in the conflict resolution with students. It is revealed that the social representations of conflict and non-conflict teachers about conflict resolution with students differ in characteristics such as resolution – avoidance, orientation in conflict resolution with students on their own interests and the interests of the other, which determines the variability of actions in resolving the conflict.

The article discusses the functioning of collective memory and its manifestations in contemporary Russian cinematography. The author analyzes the play Martyr by the German playwright Marius von Mayenburg and compares it with the film The Student directed by a Russian filmmaker Kirill Serebrennikov. The author refers to the concept of collective memory in order to explain its significance in the process of constructing and preserving national identity. On the basis of this analysis it is shown that the youngest generation of Russians are experiencing an identity crisis, and that they are trying to redefine the models and patterns imposed on it in an effort to find its place in today’s world.

Opis:
Modeling the image of a teacher of higher education is an integral part of the development of modern pedagogical imageology, which is being formed as an interdisciplinary direction. In our study, we analyzed the modern scientific experience devoted to the study of the image of a teacher of higher education. This made it possible to determine the current state of the views of researchers who worked in this direction. The purpose of the article is to highlight the results of research on the content and structure of the image of a teacher of higher education. Summarizing the views of different authors, we formed a general idea of the content of the category of the image of a teacher of higher education, identified the components of the image of a teacher of higher education, identified general characteristics of the image of a teacher of higher education from different positions, components of the image of a teacher of higher education. This allowed us to define the category of the image of a teacher of higher education and to propose an author’s model of systematic description of the image of a teacher of higher education, which is an attempt to find a connection between the components of the image of a teacher of higher education and the environment in which this image is formed. The general components of this model include: determination of the image of a teacher of higher education (sociopsychological aspect, acmeological aspect, activity aspect); bearer of the image of a teacher of higher education; the context of interaction between the bearer of the image and the recipient of the image of a teacher of higher education; symbolic space formed by the bearer of the image of a teacher of higher education; nature of interaction (subject-subject interaction / subject-object interaction); process, forms, types, means of communication; recipient of the image of a teacher of higher education determination of obtaining and accepting the image of a teacher of higher education (activity aspect, acmeological aspect, socio-psychological aspect). Author’s definitions of these categories are given.

The Russian Federation is a multiethnic and multi-faith state, where representatives of different nations and religions live close to one another. The natural proximity of so many nations can be the reason for the increase or decrease of ethnic distance. What is more, it may foster intercultural mixed marriages. The issue of popularity of marriages between Muslims and residents of Slavic Russia has been attracting the Russian public opinion for several years. The article discusses the motivations of Russian women, non-Muslims seeking a Muslim husband. The analysis is based on the quantitative and qualitative content of messages posted on the Internet portal Moya sem’ya to thread Vy lubite kavkaskikh/vostochnykh mushchin? The author took an attempt to answer the question why Muslims – usually coming from the North Caucasus – are – according to Russian women – better candidates for a life partner.

W świetle analizy wybranej polskiej i światowej literatury w artykule opisano czynniki kształtowania się wizerunku szkoły wyższej oraz instrumenty jego kreowania. W tekście zdiagnozowano m.in. utrudnienia tego procesu, wynikające głównie z izomorfizmu (dużego podobieństwa organizacyjnego) uczelni oraz uwarunkowań prawnych, w jakich one funkcjonują, wskazano na zarządzanie jako instrument kształtowania wizerunku oraz przedstawiono czynniki kreowania się image’u szkół wyższych, a także zaprezentowano wybrane strategie kreowania wizerunku, jakie mogą implementować podmioty działające w przestrzeni edukacji wyższej.
The article, based on selected Polish and world literature, describes the factors shaping the image of a university. In the text, the author has diagnosed, among other impediments of this process resulting from the isomorphism of the university, legal conditions in which they function. Management was presented as a foundation for shaping the image as well as the areas of its creation. The author also discussed the selected strategies for shaping the image that entities managing higher education sector may implement.
