    Opis:
    The article deals with the conflicting data about the grammar of the Ukrainian emigrant dialects of the multi-lingual and multi-dialectal area between the Danube and the Dniester rivers, obtained with the help of dialectal textography and the program. The idea of the dialectal norm, which is in the program, and the reality of the language, which is in the text, determine the value of such facts as a source of the information of the dynamics, it’s detailing, stages of the dialectal formation. The analysis of these facts helps to establish the phases of the borrowing of the other dialect elements, to fix the primary stages of the formation of the new ones, the disappearance of native features, to explain the discrepancy between the new data, the information of the AUL and previous descriptive researches, to distinguish the dynamic processes, communicative factors and the other reasons of the inconsistent information, related to the multi-lingual character of the speakers, deficient taking into account the peculiarities of the grammatical phenomena in the area, the mosaic structure of the dialects and dialectal features.

    Opis:
    The aim of the article was to present the lexical richness and word-formation potential of the lexeme matka [mother] in the dialects of Ostróda, Warmia and Mazury. The lexemes mother, mama and muter, as well as their derivatives were analyzed. The linguistic material was based on the file of Słownik gwar Ostródzkiego, Warmii i Mazur [A Dictionary of Dialects of Ostróda, Warmia and Masuria Regions] that is a record of dialect status at the end of the 1950s. The lexeme matka is connected with the creation of 10 derivatives, the lexeme mama – with 7 derivatives, and muter – 2 derivatives. The derivation of the last word is a proof of the adaptation of a German root in the dialects under discussion. The analysis of the material has shown that the derivatives have a modify ing semantic function and they convey positive emotions towards the referent. In this way, hypocoristic formations were created whose suffixes do not differ significantly from the general Polish word-formation system. In addition, it turned out that about 80% of the derivatives come from the dialect literary style, as the second degree suffixes are not functional in the analyzed dialects. In communicating positive feelings towards the designate, simple suffixes were sufficient for the language users. It is not possible to determine isomorphs on the basis of the material collected in the file, as questions about diminutives were attached to the questionnaire at the last stage of the fieldwork.

    Opis:
    The subject of discussion made the issue of categorical multifunctionality of dialectal substantival derivatives. Subjected to the interpretation the derivational material obtained from lexical store of about 30,000 entries accumulated in The folk vocabulary of former provinces of Lodz and Kielce [Dejna, 1974–1985]. Selected derivatives are categorized after taking the relevant methods of typological, functional-segmental and in/chronic word formation into consideration. The selected image revealed both directions of the acquisition of new meanings by the derived units and showed the regularity and the model of mechanismes which introducing derivatives in other areas of the categorical semantics.
    Przedmiotem omówienia uczyniono zagadnienie wielofunkcyjności kategorialnej rzeczownikowych derywatów gwarowych o charakterze czynnościowym. Poddany interpretacji materiał słowotwórczy pozyskano z liczącego około 30 tysięcy haseł zasobu leksykalnego zgromadzonego w Słownictwie ludowym byłych województw kieleckiego i łódzkiego [Dejna, 1974–1985]. Wyselekcjonowane derywaty skategoryzowano po uwzględnieniu metod właściwych słowotwórstwu typologicznemu, funkcjonalno-segmentalnemu (gniazdowemu) oraz in/chronii. Wyłoniony obraz odsłonił zarówno kierunki przejmowania przez jednostki derywowane nowych znaczeń, jak i wykazał regularność, modelowość mechanizmów wprowadzających derywaty w inne obszary semantyki kategorialnej.

    Autorka rozprawy Semantyczno-symboliczny paradygmat kolorów w aspekcie słowotwórczym koncentruje się na roli koloru w systemie etnokulturowym i usiłuje zbadać, które z konceptualnych kategorii barw znajdują odbicie w języku i taka jest ich symbolika. Przedmiotem badań jest rosyjskie słownictwo gwarowe, które różni się w dziedzinie nazw kolorów od rosyjskiego języka literackiego leksykalnie – por. gw. burnistyj ‘ryževatyj, bez černoty i ognenoj krasoty’, želtogorjačij ‘oranževyj’ – i semantycznie, por. ros. literackie bagrjanyj ‘vchodjaščij v blok krasnych cvetov’ i gw. bagrjanyj ‘pestryj, polosatyj’. Autorka skupiła uwagę na barwach: belyj, černyj, krasnyj, želtyj, zelenyj, sinij, goluboj i przeprowadziła analizę na trzech poziomach (rejestrach semantycznych): ontologicznym, metaforycznym, komunikatywnym. Kolor biały wykorzystywany jest na wszystkich rejestrach semantycznych i tworzy najbogatszy paradygmat semantyczno-symboliczny. Do tworzenia zoonimów wykorzystywane są wszystkie kolory, jednak w ich użyciach można zaobserwować pewne tendencje. Np. biała barwa służy najczęściej do określania zwierząt domowych, np. belucha ‘krowa maści białej’. Czarny kolor występuje przede wszystkim w nazwach dzikiego ptactwa, černedjucha ‘rodzaj kaczki’. Czerwony kolor przeważa z kolei w nazwach ryb, por. krasnucha ‘łosoś’, ‘płotka’. Podobne różnice obserwowane są również na poziomie metaforyzacji, np. z białym kolorem kojarzone są najczęściej semy ‘dobry’. ‘swobodny’, ‘czysty’, z zielonym – ‘młody’, z czerwonym – ‘piękny’, ‘szczęśliwy’, ‘dobry’.
    The article focuses on the role of colour in ethnocultural system. An attempt is made to find out which of the conceptual categories of colour are reflected in language and what is their symbolic value. In focus is Russian dialectal vocabulary, different from that used in the literary variety of the language in two respects: (1) lexically (cf. dialectal burnistyi ‘ryzhevatyi, bez chernoty i ogenoy krasoty’, zheltogorachiy ‘oranzhevyi’; and (2) semantically, cf. literary bagryanyi ‘vhodashchyi v blok krasnykh cvetov’ and dialectal bagryanyi ‘pestriy, polosatyi’. The article concentrates on belyi ‘white’, chernyi ‘black’, krasnyi ‘red’, zheltyi ‘yellow’, siniy ‘navy blue’, goluboy ‘blue’, and provides analysis at three levels (semantic registers): ontological, metaphorical and communicative. White is utilized at all semantic registers and provides the richest semantic-symbolic pattern. Although all the colours are used to form zoonyms, certain tendencies can be observed. For instance, white is used mainly to refer to domesticated animals, e.g. belukha ‘a cow of white colour’. Black is mainly present in the names of wild birds, e.g. chernedyukha ‘a kind of duck’. Red, in turn, is most frequent in the names of fish, cf. krasnukha ‘salmon, ‘roach’. Similar differences can also be observed at the metaphorical level, e.g. white is mainly associated with ‘good’, ‘free’, ‘pure’, green with ‘young’, red with ‘beautiful’, ‘happy’, or ‘good’.
