The purpose of the article is to present the results of the study on entrepreneurship and its evaluation at macro-level. The study is conducted in the context of the imperfections of indicators used and future research needs. The methods applied in the study are: the analysis and criticism of the literature on the subject. The starting point for the study is to conceptualize the entrepreneurship comprehensively. Then the article presents used measures of the entrepreneurship. Finally, there is an attempt to identify the directions for future research on entrepreneurship at macro-level. The query of literature on defining entrepreneurship and its measurement did not bring unambiguous results. Entrepreneurship is an extremely complex issue that causes a lot of methodological limitations. Establishing a modular indicator at country level can determine the development of the entrepreneurship research in general. It can have key meaning from cognitive as well as applied perspective.

Opposition city/ country (other versions of antinomic relations – centre/ outskirts (neighbourhood), foreign/ familiar, distant/ close etc.), where the city is viewed as a hotbed of shattered dreams and people’s hopes, and the country as the oasis of calmness and a mainstay of historic traditions – is an important motive of classic Ukrainian literature. Leaving canonical peasant literature for peasants (Ukrainian: cелеписність) and unquestionable turn to the urban subject matter in the Ukrainian literature were observed in 1920s, initially in the poetry of futurists and neoclassicists and later in the intellectual prose of the representatives of “Executed Renaissance”. In the latest postmodernist Ukrainian literature the classic spatial opposition city/ country is subject to a new evaluation. The postmodernist writers not only traditionally contrast city with country, but also, or even above all – the city of the past with the modern city, Ukrainian city with the city of the west. Thus, antinomy, apotheosis, adaptation – even today coexist in the complex relations city/country, but with the main stress moved from the apotheosis of the country to the search of living space and continuous attempts to adapt in the modern urban agglomeration.

No matter what the reasons are for providing development aid, the “how and where” of the countries doing it infiuences their image in international relations and testifies to the intelligent power of a country. Helping a country such as Tajikistan is difficult, and not only because of its geographic location or high level of poverty. It is hard to make some changes there (especially in the field of democracy) when a donor country has to face the despotic presidency of Rachmon and the high level of support for Putin’s policies. Since 2004 Poland has been providing aid to this country (mainly with the participation of Polish NGOs), regardless of the fact as to whether it was on the list of priority countries or not. What are the main areas of Polish aid there? And what does Poland want and expect to achieve by helping the Tajiks? In this research and analysis the author looks for answers to these two questions.

Today, sponsorship accounts for a major part of marketing programs of the world's professional clubs in terms of earning income. The current research aimed to identify the most significant factors deterring the participation of sponsors from sponsoring professional volleyball league clubs in the country. This research fell under the category of survey and explorative researches and is a field study in terms of data gathering. This paper was conducted with a sample of 150 people of mangers of volleyball federation and professional volleyball league clubs, heads of clubs' marketing affairs and sporting experts and etc. via a simple random sampling method. In order to determine the validity of the tool for measurement, experts' views were used and in order to measure the reliability, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was applied, where its rate for the scales of the questionnaire was over 0.07. The results obtained from the single sample t test were indicative of the fact that five economic, legal, social, cultural and managerial obstacles were among the most important factors deterring sponsors from participating in the sponsorship of professional volleyball league clubs in the country (p<0.001). Freidman test was also used for prioritization of obstacles and indices related to each of the obstacles.

The economic development of Poland and its regions results from a complex interaction of many factors, which include regional innovation policy. The task of regional innovation policy is to identify and develop smart specialisations, which may offer an opportunity of building up sustained competitive advantage of Poland’s provinces. The identification of regional specialisations for the needs of regional policy carried out by Poland’s provinces is a complex process. It must be placed within the context of all other processes of territorial development. To formulate specialisations, it is necessary to perform a thorough analysis of regional economic structures, taking into account both resources of a given region and possibilities of generating revenue. One of the methods used to identify potential regional specialisations is the Krugman dissimilarity index. In the paper, it is employed to analyse dissimilarities between economic structures of Poland’s regions.

Economic promotion, if prepared properly and realised effectively, should provide information and argumentation that encourage people to purchase goods produced in the given country, and to start economic cooperation with companies from that country. In the years 2010 – 2015, there were over 170 entities that created, supported and realised activities in the area of economic promotion. Approximate total costs of the activities aimed at internationalisation incurred by the public sector stood at about PLN 2.2 billion. However, as the NIK audit shows, although those activities were realised in a broad scope and in various forms, they had not been preceded by adoption of strategic assumptions at the national and regional level. They were not properly coordinated, either, which made it impossible to take advantage of economies of scale. The reason behind is that a coherent system of Poland’s economic promotion did not exist.

The text is an analysis of the socio-political situation in Western Pomerania during the political crisis in the Polish People’s Republic at the turn of 1971. Szczecin lay in the heart of the workers’ protests, however, it was the events in Gdańsk that received the most spotlight at that time and later on. The article aims to gather and analyse information from primary sources on how the inhabitants of the country learned about social unrest in big cities, how they interpreted and commented on it, and how it all translated into social sentiments. Such an approach to the problem also provides an opportunity to carry out an analysis based on the dichotomy between the ‘core’ and ‘peripheral’ areas. This is possible due to the accessibility of appropriate primary sources, which in the examined cases are constituted mostly by the documentation gathered by the Security Service, so far used to a small extent. It should also be stressed that the documents on the events of December 1970 in the context of the country in Western Pomerania were rather scant. The analysis of the documentation demonstrates how important Szczecin and Gdańsk were for social sentiments in 1970 and 1971. The incidents in ‘core’ cities were closely observed, and the patterns of protesting were then copied by the country. The scale of those ‘peripheral’ protests was smaller, and they usually did not turn into street fights, but their impact was felt, heard and seen. The methods of protesting in the country involved distributing leaflets, making inscriptions, conversing on related topics and, above all, sharing a desire to bring about a socio-political change expressed by strikes and public protests. These occurrences showed how much the ‘peripheral’ areas were inspired by the ‘core’ ones. There is no doubt that December 1970 left a lasting mark on the memory of the inhabitants of the country in Western Pomerania.

Новая Земля Якуба Коласа является важным произведением для белорусов, однако в нем отсутсвуют национальные элементы. Присутствует зато ярко выраженный классовый образ мира. Общество, представленное в белорусской поэме, состоит почти исключительно из крестьян. Паны, а особенно „полупанки”, представляют собой в Новой Земле мир чужой, плохой, странный а иногда смешной, от которого зависят остальные люди. Крестьянские герои Коласа являются объектами, а не субъектами истории. Из выражений Россия - русские, Польша - поляки, белорусы некоторые в поэме встречаются очень редко, а иные вообще отсутствуют. Белорусь выступаяет лишь в кулинарном аспекте: „Все деликатесы Белоруссии”. Вненародным категориям описания доиндустриального крестьянского общества сопутствует также отсутствие четкого исторического плана.

While analyzing the teaching and attitudes of Pope Francis, we decided to devote this article to the issue of inclusion. Considering the sphere of our interests – education, broadly understood – we focused on the inclusion of students coming from abroad, in the education system in Poland. In our publication, we rely on legal regulations, the results of research and control carried out by the Supreme Audit Office in the field of education of children of foreigners and Polish citizens returning to the country, studies by  researchers of the above-mentioned issues, and we discuss a case study. The conclusions are clear: there are more and more students coming from abroad into Polish schools; despite declarations, schools are not fully prepared for their admission when all responsibility for the organization of education rests with school principals and teachers. The role of pedagogical supervision in this respect is insufficient. It is worth paying special attention to practical guidelines for teachers in order to effectively implement the pedagogy of inclusion.

Poland as a country that actively participates in maintaining and opening peace in the world is exposed to various threats to the security of our country. The Polish government sends soldiers of the Polish Army to different regions of the world with the mission to create, maintain and create peace on all continents. Polish soldiers serve in peace-keeping, training and stabilisation missions all over the world under the auspices of the UN and NATO, and are exposed to various threats. One of these threats is the loss of personal data of Polish Armed Forces soldiers. Loss of these data affects the safety of our soldiers performing tasks outside the country and their families remaining in Poland, and thus affects the safety of our country.

In the volatility of economic development as in any other phenomenon, a regular component and an incidental component can be distinguished. The former consolidates main factors while the latter is related to random factors. It can be achieved by constructing a precise model, where the random factor isn't statistically significant. The economic development was described by means of model ARMA(1,1). Subsequently, model AARCH(3,2) was used to characterize all kinds of variations. The components of this model were examined and attention was paid to any delays which occur in the creation of the trend and amplitude.
